We visited the Polynesian Cultural Center for the first time as a couple. Unfortunately, the weather was pouring rain. Upon arriving at the center, we received ponchos and the tour began. Due to the bad weather, I was more concerned about my footing than the scenery, which really diminished the enjoyment, and that was very disappointing. However, the one saving grace was that we managed to see the dance show on the boat that takes place once a day. The buffet dinner was delicious. But the evening show, "Hā: Breath of Life," was so moving that it gave me goosebumps. It received a standing ovation. I think it's worth seeing the show at least once. If I go again, I would like to opt for a tour that includes just dinner and the show.

I visited the Polynesian Cultural Center for the first time! I think I was able to learn about the various ethnic groups and cultures in the region known as Polynesia. It was fun to see a few selected guests go up on stage and participate in an entertaining show.
I experienced hula dancing for the first time and realized how difficult it is. I can't move my hips as smoothly and softly as that!
What I really liked was the fire dance! I had seen it on a television program before, but seeing it live was a completely different level of intensity!
I was surprised to see such small children able to perform fire dancing!
The final grand dance show was composed of a large number of performers, and it was very moving. The sight of them passionately performing was very impressive. However, if I were to express a dissatisfaction, I would have preferred the content to be a bit richer and easier to understand. They used a large screen to explain the flow and content of the show, but since all the audio that accompanied the visuals was in English, I couldn't fully grasp the content. I was watching while imagining what they wanted to convey through the visuals.

The Polynesian Cultural Center is a MUST SEE when visiting the Islands! It is an amazing full day of learning the culture of the people who established the Islands. Each Village that you will visit will provide you with a description of their creation and demonstrate their unique culture through dance, song, and demonstrations. The interesting thing about this day is that nearly every individual who is working at the Center is a full-time student at BYU of Hawaii which is located next door. I was really looking forward to the Polynesian experience. As I imagined, it was fun! I was able to enjoy learning about the dances and cultures of various countries. In the ukulele workshop, I only learned four chords, but I felt like a complete ukulele player. I was very interested in the hula workshop since I am currently learning hula, but it was a bit lacking for me...
Overall, it was a fun experience that I couldn't have in Japan, and I was very satisfied. The long journey there was made wonderful by our guide, James Mori, whose stories were fantastic, and I wanted to hear more and more of them.

There were a lot of lines all night. From the moment we met the bus until the moment we got off. We had to wait to get in but fortunately a beverage was provided in that one. We had children who wanted to do many of the activities and they made sure you didn't miss them with a load conch call. This brought a huge crowd to see each event. My kids would not let us miss one. The bummer was the cove and location was beautiful and we didn't get a moment to take it all in as a family because one of us was in line the entire time. You should know that dinner is not served until after 7pm so make sure you have a late lunch. I wish I would of known that. Show was great but the many costume changes meant many slow intermission like moments all night. Not my favorite night.

I felt that the content of the show was a bit lacking, and the quality of the dance performances seemed lower compared to what I had seen on other islands. However, the local guide, a Japanese college student, was very dedicated and his stories were interesting, which was a positive aspect. Still, isn't this price too high for the content provided!?

Two items, the evening seemed rushed, there was not enough time between activities to truely enjoy the evening - our bus arrived, dropped us off, and the race was on... we did not get to participate in all of the pre-show activities. The second was the food was okay, but not what I would consider great - which is why the value rating dropped to so-so.

I had made a reservation at the beginning of March, right on Tsunami Day, but there was no contact at all, and it was canceled. I ended up waiting for over an hour at the pickup location while continuously trying to call (but couldn't get through), which was a disaster. Thanks to Alan's efforts, I was able to participate the next day, but everything before the show (like tree climbing and canoeing), the show itself, and the meals were all quite mediocre... It felt lacking in focus, or perhaps just scattered... I was looking forward to the hula, but the hula at the Tokiwa Hawaiian Center was much better... The negative impression might also be because it was extremely cold... The seaside location is a selling point, but that also means the wind is strong, and it got quite chilly once the sun went down. I won't be going again, but for those who do, I recommend being well-prepared for the cold depending on the season.

I participated in a luau workshop with a friend, and we had a variety of experiences! At that time, there were only three of us participants, including a man who joined alone, so it felt very private.
A student named Junya, who was really upbeat, guided us and responded well to our requests for things we wanted to do! Thanks to him, during the mini-show in Tahiti, we got to dance the Tahitian dance on stage with a cool male dancer, and we received a lot of applause from the audience, which made us really happy!
At Ali'i Luau, thanks to the man who participated with us, we were able to experience making poke, which wasn't part of our original tour plan, and it was super delicious and fun!
The show was truly wonderful, and the hour and a half flew by with a break in between! The fire dance was really amazing! My excitement was through the roof.
Since the time was long, I honestly had some concerns about whether it would be enjoyable in Hawaii, but I'm really glad I participated! I had a fantastic time!

We participated as a family.
Instead of taking a bus tour, we headed to the venue by rental car, but we ended up being late due to traffic on both the local roads and the highway. Although my English is not very good, I wanted to inform them that we would be arriving late, so I tried calling and was able to speak with a staff member who understood Japanese. We were about an hour late, but we were able to enter the venue without any issues.
As I read in other experiences, there were no other Japanese people besides us. Most of the men were wearing aloha shirts, and the women were in muumuu dresses.
Before the show started, there was an introduction to the traditional culture of the islands, and the atmosphere gradually built up. Around 6:30 PM, the Hawaiian band started performing on the stone bench stage, followed by dance performances and a presentation of the food. At 7:00 PM, we enjoyed a buffet dinner while the main stage show began. The singing, dancing, and fire show were all wonderful, and we truly enjoyed Hawaii. After the powerful Polynesian dance, those who wanted to join went up on stage and danced energetically, which was very entertaining.
The food was not very tasty. As someone who struggles with English, I wondered what the delicious-looking drink with fruit that others were having was, but I couldn't figure it out from the drink menu, so I ended up ordering a Corona beer. I had some drink tickets left over.
Despite the language barrier, it was a very satisfying experience, and my whole family had a great time. I definitely want to participate again on our next trip, but this time I would like to join a bus tour. I heard that there is heavy traffic in the evenings, so I recommend that those driving allow plenty of time before departure.

I was able to experience the cultures of various Polynesian countries. On the deluxe tour, we explored the park in a small group. The female tour guide was very dedicated and left a good impression. We watched shows from Hawaii, New Zealand, Samoa, and Tonga, but the show from Tonga was particularly interesting. The post-dinner show, "Ha: Breath of Life," was breathtaking. It was a powerful performance that you wouldn't believe was put on by amateurs (students). The story allowed us to reaffirm the cultures of the countries we learned about during the day, and it made me want to visit the attractions we couldn't get to. The fire dance was also impressive. We were even able to visit the backstage where the students were preparing for the show, which was very moving. The dinner was delicious, and the ice cream we received during the show was also tasty, making it a great value for the cost. There are more highlights than I expected, so if you're renting a car, I recommend taking your time to explore from the opening. However, even spending a whole day, it's quite challenging to see all the village shows. It would be good to prioritize the villages you're interested in or the shows recommended by the tour guide when planning your schedule. The tickets are valid for three days (with paid parking), so for those staying longer, it might be a good idea to split the visit over two days. Through this tour, I became interested in Polynesian countries other than Hawaii. I immediately started looking up how to get to Tonga. I want to visit the Polynesian Cultural Center again.

Not only was our Luau experience the best the drive to and from the event on bus #5 was fantastic. The driver was U and the guide/orator was Pompani (I think). You should have at least ten (10) Pompani’s since he made the experience a time to remember.
He was courteous, experienced, and a real performer. He was able to make the trip to and from one to remember. In addition the Luau, performance, food, and location were fantastic.
