I think many people hesitate to choose this option because it is relatively expensive compared to other tour companies, but I went with Captain Bruce again, just like last time.
- The buses and boats for pickup are new and clean.
- The staff are all very kind.
- They are apparently the only company that can take you right up to the sandbar by boat.
It was unfortunate that the weather was a bit cloudy (the photos don't come out well unless it's sunny), but I was very satisfied to be able to swim with sea turtles. My 5-year-old and 9-year-old children also had a lot of fun with the cheerful staff.
I haven't experienced other tour companies, but if I go to the sandbar again, I think I will use Captain Bruce next time as well. It seems that the sandbar is more visible in the afternoon.

I was thrilled to see wild dolphins and whales for the first time! I was so excited to swim with my partner! However, unfortunately, it was quite windy, and after getting out of the sea, I was so cold that I couldn't stop shivering. The boat was also rocking quite a bit, and since we went into the water about three times, you'll need several bath towels! Three women participated. Luckily, we were able to see two sea turtles, which was very exciting! Wearing wetsuits was definitely the right choice as it protected us from the cold and the coral. In fact, one of us was a beginner who couldn't swim and was experiencing the ocean for the first time. She was really scared when it came to putting her face in the water, getting water in her ears, and not being able to breathe through her nose. At one point, she even cramped up and we worried she might have to give up. However, thanks to the kind support of our instructor Chieko, she managed to complete the one-hour snorkeling session. We are very grateful for all the help. She was really happy to have had a great experience. So, even those who can't swim can participate with peace of mind, and there's no doubt that you'll feel glad you joined!

There were five of us in total, including ourselves. The guide was really kind and entertaining! It was my first time snorkeling, and without the guide, I would have had no idea how to swim while putting on the gear. During the experience, we were able to see sea turtles twice, and we even got some photos taken. They asked if we needed wetsuits (for $10) when we participated. The guide strongly recommended it, so we decided to get one, and I truly believe I would have been cold and caught a cold without it. While it would be fine for just playing in the water at the beach, they mentioned it was necessary since we would be swimming for over an hour, and I am really grateful for that.

If I have friends going to Hawaii, I would definitely recommend this tour!

Due to heavy snow in Narita, my trip to Hawaii was cut short by one day. It was a pretty intense two days, but I think I was able to enjoy my time in Hawaii. I had actually booked a sunset cruise for the first day, but unfortunately, due to the flight cancellation and delays, I couldn't change it, and it was treated as a cancellation without any refund, which was really disappointing. It felt like my excitement was taken away.

And finally, I enrolled in Dolphin University! I heard there might be times when we can't meet the dolphins, which made me a bit anxious.

I participated in a tour on the morning of January 22.

1. Sandbar walk

2. Light meal

3. Snorkeling

On the morning of the day I had a reservation, I received a message from the staff at VELTRA saying, "The waves are too high today, and the tour cannot proceed..." They explained the refund and rescheduling process, and I was able to reschedule for the next day. Their response was very professional, and I had no worries at all. I was a bit anxious the next day, but since I didn’t receive a call, I thought everything was fine and headed to the pickup location. However, it turned out to be the day of an annual parade, and the roads were heavily congested. After waiting for the bus for an hour... (I wondered if this could have been anticipated since it happens every year, but all the other tours and buses heading to the airport were also delayed, so I thought it might just be something you have to accept in Hawaii with a big heart, haha). It seemed that the street where we were supposed to be picked up was particularly congested, so the bus stopped on a larger road, and two staff members (one of whom was Japanese) ran to greet us. A large, beautiful bus came to pick us up. Once on the bus, they began with an apology for the delay, introduced the staff, and explained the schedule and important notes in English followed by Japanese. There was also information about purchasing a USB for photos and videos taken on the trip, as well as renting wetsuits. Those who purchased the photo/video package on the way to the destination received a wristband as a gift (one for each participant) and a $5 discount. It seems that if you stay close to the photographer, you might get more photos taken. Upon arriving at the harbor, we used the restroom and borrowed fins and goggles. (We also tried on the wetsuits we rented on the bus here.) Once we found the right size, we boarded the boat. After boarding, we set off to look for dolphins, and during that time, there was another explanation, and we sang a Hawaiian song to show respect for the ocean and its creatures while offering flowers. The cheerful Hawaiian staff jumped into the sea as soon as we reached the dolphin spot and swam to the location of the dolphins. Unfortunately, we didn’t encounter any turtles or whales, but we did meet dolphins, which was an emotional experience that allowed us to feel connected to nature. After that, we moved to another location where we had free time to enjoy snorkeling and kayaking. On the way back to the harbor, we enjoyed taro cheese burgers, bite-sized pineapple, and a small bag of chips each. If you have children, I think the 11 AM departure plan would be better to avoid putting too much strain on them. Even if you usually don’t get motion sickness, I think it’s wise to take motion sickness medication as a precaution.

予約をしていた日の朝、ＶＥＬＴＲＡさんのスタッフの方から「本日は波が高く催行不可能となりました…」と連絡があり、返金・振り替えなどの説明があり、翌日へ振り替えてもらいました。もちろんきちんとした対応で、何の心配もありませんでした。次の日も心配でしたが、電話が来なかったので大丈夫なんだなと思いピックアップ場所へ。しかしその日は年に一度のパレードの日だったらしく道路は大渋滞。バスを待つこと1時間…。（毎年の事なので事前に予測できないのかな？とは思いましたが、他のツアーも、空港へ向かう予約のバスもどれもこれも全てが遅れていたのでハワイでは仕方がないのかな？と思う大きな心が必要です（笑））我が家のピックアップ場所の通りが特に渋滞していたようなので大きい道路にバスを停めスタッフの方が2人（1人は日本人）で走って迎えに来てくれました。大きい素敵なバスがお迎えに来てくれていました。バスに乗るとまず、遅れたお詫びから始まりスタッフの紹介、今日のスケジュールや注意事項などを英語に続き日本語で説明してくれます。バスの中で写真や動画を収めたＵＳＢの購入、ウエットスーツのレンタルなどについても説明があります。行きのバスで写真・動画のセットを購入した人はリストバンドのプレゼント（参加人数分）、5㌦の割引がありました。カメラマンの方の近くにいると多めに撮ってもらえるような気がします。ハーバーに着くと、トイレを済ませフィン・ゴーグルを借ります。（バスの中でレンタルしたウエットスーツもここで試着してみます）サイズを合わせて、ＯＫであれば船に乗り込みます。乗船後、イルカを探しに行きますがその間、再度説明があり、海や生き物に敬意を表すためのハワイの歌を歌って花を捧げます。陽気なハワイアンのスタッフ、イルカのポイントに着いたらすぐに海へ飛び込みイルカの場所まで泳いでいきます。残念ながらかめ、くじらには会えませんでしたが、イルカに出会え自然を感じられ感動でした。そのあとは別の場所へ移動し、シュノーケリングやカヤックなどで遊ぶ自由時間があります。ハーバーまで帰港する際にタロイモのチーズバーガー、パイナップル1口サイズを1つ小袋のチップスを一人一袋食べながら帰っていきます。スタッフがフラダンスも踊ってくれ、参加者皆で踊ったりもします。終始楽しい時間で家族みんな大満足です。我が家はUSBを購入したので、その日の夕方ワイキキのDFS近くにあるオフィスへ取りに行きオフィスにいた日本人の男性もとても気さくで感じのいいかたでした。エコバックはこのオフィスでもらえます。次回ハワイへ行った際には是非また参加したいです。お子さんがいらっしゃる場合は、11時出航プランにした方が子供の負担にならないと思います。普段酔わなくても酔い止めは予防として飲むべきだと思います。

We participated with a total of nine people, from a five-month-old baby to my 64-year-old father and mother. It rained on the way to the sandbar, and when we got off, the water was up to our knees. My father said he would wait on the boat, but we forced him to come along, and in the end, he said he was glad he went! I think it's a good idea to check the tide schedule in advance. The BBQ was delicious, and the kids were very satisfied.

First of all, it was very reassuring that the tour guide could speak Japanese. Additionally, everyone was very cheerful, bright, and friendly, which made for wonderful memories. Snorkeling was a bit scary at first, but the day we went had excellent water clarity, the weather was great, and I was able to see many beautiful fish and sea turtles, allowing me to forget my fears and enjoy the experience. The staff also spoke to me a lot in Japanese, which made me feel very welcomed. I would love to book this tour again when I come back to Hawaii.

また、皆さんとても陽気で明るく親身に接してくれたのでとても良い思い出となりました。
シュノーケリングは最初怖かったですが、行った日がとても海の透明度が高い日で、天気も良く、たくさんの綺麗な魚やウミガメを見ることができ、怖さを忘れ楽しむことができました。

I participated with my father (in his 60s). Since both of us grew up by the sea, we had no worries about swimming, but we were a bit nervous since it was our first time. The woman in charge was absolutely wonderful, and during the bus ride, we had a homeroom session where the participants (we were referred to as such) were laughing the whole time and felt relaxed. On the day of participation, we were told that due to high waves, it might be hard to spot dolphins right away, but as soon as we boarded the boat, we were able to see dolphins and sea turtles! After that, we dove into the sea and were moved to see dolphins swimming right below us... (they were quite far away, though, haha). We couldn't see them up close, but we were able to confirm a significant number of dolphins.

There were participants who suffered from seasickness throughout the trip, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who are prone to seasickness or can't swim (once you dive into the sea, the boat leaves, so if you want to return, you can't. We swam as a group for about 20 minutes, which could be quite tough for those who aren't confident). However, for those who have no issues with seasickness or swimming, I wholeheartedly recommend it! You can experience a feeling of being one with nature!

私と父(60代)で参加しました。二人とも海街育ちなので泳ぎには全く不安は無かったのですが、初めての参加のためドキドキでした。担当の女性の方がとっっても素敵な方で、バスの中でホームルームをするのですが終始生徒(参加者はこう呼ばれます)は笑いっぱなしでリラックス出来ました。参加日は波が高い為すぐに見つかるか分からないとの事でしたが、船に乗り込んですぐにイルカ・海亀を見る事が出来ました！その後海にダイブし泳ぎながら自分たちの真下を泳ぐイルカに感動…(距離はかなり遠いですが笑)間近で見ることが叶いませんでしたがかなりの数のイルカを確認できました。

船酔いで終始苦しんでおられる参加者の方もいましたので、船酔いする方や泳げない方(海に一度潜ると船は離れますので戻りたくてももどれません。20分くらい団体で泳ぐので得意じゃない方はかなら辛そうでした)にはおすすめしませんが、船酔いにも泳ぎにも問題ない方には全力でおすすめです！自然と一体化した気分が味わえますよう！

I prepared myself for the coldness of the sea in January, but the weather was surprisingly perfect and even a bit hot. The pickup was on time, and the staff were all very good! Justin's guidance was excellent. The female staff member, Crystal, was beautiful and captivating. Captain Alan was also very kind! I'm glad I chose this tour. The lunch with the bone-in short ribs was delicious! There was plenty of free time, and you can rent beach gear, so you can fully enjoy the emerald-clear sea. I want to go again during low tide. After swimming with dolphins in the Ogasawara Islands, I became captivated by them and applied for the experience. First, I tend to get seasick, so I intended to take motion sickness medication but forgot, and we set sail as is. As expected, I got seasick. I didn't reach the point of vomiting, but on the way back, I felt nauseous and couldn't eat. So, I recommend that anyone who is prone to seasickness definitely take motion sickness medication.

Now, onto the main event with the dolphins. It seems I was lucky that day, as we quickly encountered a pod of about a dozen dolphins. As soon as we jumped into the water, we were able to swim with the dolphins right away. They swam around us repeatedly, so we got to swim with them many times. They were really cute.

After that, we went snorkeling. Here too, as soon as we got into the water, we encountered two sea turtles. It was really exciting to see a large sea turtle swimming so comfortably.

After that, in January, the sun went down, and it got really cold. I recommend bringing warm clothing. The local staff were entertaining and made sure everyone had a good time, so overall, I was very satisfied.

小笠原でドルフィンスイムをしてからイルカに虜になり、応募しました。
まず私は酔いやすかったので、酔い止めを飲もうとしてたのですが忘れてしまい、そのまま出航。案の定酔ってしまいました。吐くまでは行きませんが、帰りの船は気持ち悪くご飯食べるところではありませんでした。なので酔いやすい方は必ず酔い止めを飲んだ方がいいとおもいます。
そして本番のドルフィン。
当日は運が良かったみたいで、すぐに十数頭いる群れに出会えました。
海にとびんこんでからすぐにイルカと泳げました。ずっと私たちの周りをくるくると泳いでくれてたみたいなので、何度も何度もイルカと泳げました。キッキいってほんとに可愛かったです。
そのあと、シュノーケル。
ここでも海に降りてすぐ、2匹のウミガメに出会えました。大きなウミガメが気持ちよさそうに泳いでてほんと嬉しかったです。
そのあとは1月で太陽が隠れてしまいすごく寒かったです。防寒のものを持参することをお勧めします。
現地スタッフのかたは面白くて皆さんを楽しませてくれ、全体的に満足です。

I couldn't see any dolphins, but I had a great time swimming in the beautiful sea and playing on the board! I had heard it was the wrong season to see whales, but I was happy to see two of them.

I experienced severe seasickness, so I recommend taking motion sickness medication before going! Also, everyone was renting wetsuits, so I think it's a good idea to rent one as well.

ちょっと期待し過ぎたかなと思いました。
