I was a bit anxious since it was my first time snorkeling, but I felt that it was a tour where beginners could participate with peace of mind because the guide was very supportive.

Hanauma Bay is very beautiful, and I was able to see a lot of fish. The swimming time is about an hour, which was just right for me as a beginner.
*For those who regularly engage in water sports, it might feel a bit short.

I think it's essential for participants in the winter season and beginners in snorkeling to rent a wetsuit.

In winter, the seawater is a bit cold, so the wetsuit helps alleviate that, and it provides buoyancy, allowing you to focus on snorkeling with peace of mind.

I couldn't enjoy myself freely because I was with people I didn't know well. I would like to have a bit more free time. Although we got in early, we could only swim for about an hour, so I couldn't go to the places I wanted to. I didn't think Hanauma Bay was more beautiful than it was four years ago. It was nice that the fish were used to people and didn't swim away. The guide was kind and helpful. Since I didn't need water or snacks, I would have preferred a lower price or at least to have about two hours of free time.

It was a great way to start the day. Super convenient if you're staying at a hotel on Kalakaua Ave. Just walk to the Duke Statue on Waikiki Beach, check-in and board. No driving to the harbor and dealing with parking. The crew were all very professional and super helpful to nervous, first time snorkelers. They rent all that you need but they don't have fins so if you want/need fins bring your own.

We stopped on the way out to observe some dolphins so if you're lucky its not just turtles you'll see. Definitely worth it and we will go again the next time we visit.

However, there were so many sea cucumbers that there was hardly any space to stand, making it uncomfortable to land on the sandy bottom. I'm good at free diving, but since I borrowed a wetsuit for the season, my body was buoyant, making it difficult to dive deep, which was a hassle. It seems just right for looking down from the surface without diving.

There were staff members who could speak Japanese, which made me feel at ease to participate. It was the rainy season, so it rained on and off, but I had a great time. I didn't see any honu while snorkeling, but since we had some free time left, they took us by boat to a place where we could see honu, and I was able to see them! It was so much fun.

I visited Hanauma Bay for the first time in over 10 years. Previously, I could take a direct bus from Waikiki and freely enter the water, but it seems that after COVID, you can no longer enter without a ticket. I gave up on getting a ticket since they are sold online only two days in advance, so I joined this tour instead.

The guides were a very kind and wonderful Japanese woman and a gentle foreign man who spoke fluent Japanese. From the entrance to the explanatory video and entering the water, it was a bit complicated, so I felt it was difficult without a Japanese-speaking guide.

They took us to a snorkeling spot with lots of fish, which was really fun. Although I didn't see any sea turtles, I was glad to see many different types of fish. I recommend this for anyone wanting to visit Hanauma Bay. Also, if you're going in winter, a wetsuit is essential. The sun is hot, but the water temperature is surprisingly low.

ハナウマベイに行かれたい方には、おすすめします。
あと、冬に行かれる場合は、ウェットスーツが必須です。日差しは暑いですが、水温は意外と低いです。

I wasn't sure what to expect but it was such a great time. Captain Z is awesome, Casey was knowledgeable and Jaime was a lot of fun to talk to. We were able to see turtles when snorkelling thanks to them telling us where to look. The water activities were fun and I got to Stand Up Paddleboard for a decent amount of time. We were supplied with plenty of snacks and drinks (hot and cold). Overall it was amazing and I would highly recommend.

Our family of 6 was excited about snorkeling and seeing turtles. My children and husband had never been before, so this was a perfect day with a Nick taking the kids through the water. It was a personal tour of the beautiful reef. My elderly parents preferred staying on the boat, but that was excellent too as Sam filled us in on all the history about the island. Snorkeling with Mickey was so much fun! It was good to see that he was enjoying it as much as we were, even though it’s something he’s done many times. He really knows how to make you feel at ease while in the water, even for first time or lesser experienced swimmers. The activity itself was very cool. We got to see some interesting animals at the ocean floor, such as sea cucumbers, sea urchins, and even some fish. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking of signing up for it, and for such a reasonable price too. Surprisingly the photo’s actually turned out quite well too.

I'm really glad I was able to enter Hanauma Bay, which requires a reservation! The instructor was very polite and spoke Japanese, which was quite helpful. There were 10 participants and 2 instructors this time, but since the activities were tailored to the participants' levels, the snorkeling ended up being quite shallow, and the water clarity wasn't great. I was really looking forward to snorkeling in Hawaii, so it was a bit disappointing.

On December 25th, most facilities were closed, so our family of four decided to spend the day at the beach. The staff were quick to explain things and friendly in offering advice. We chose to rent bicycles and borrowed snorkeling gear to head to Lanikai Beach. We were amazed by the beautiful sandy beach and thoroughly enjoyed snorkeling. Next, we returned to Kailua Beach to enjoy swimming in the sea.

For lunch, it seemed that many places were closed, so we had no choice but to go with the tortillas from Kalapawai Market (there were about seven types). It seemed like the staff didn't fully understand the tour coupon, and I almost had to pay at the register and nearly missed out on getting mineral water and chips, but I managed to get through it with Google Translate.

I wanted to eat on the beach, but due to time constraints, we returned to Kailua Beach Adventure to eat. The tortillas were very delicious, but they were quite filling, so I took some home for dinner. It turned out to be a memorable day.

My morning with Iruka Hawaii's dolphin swim and snorkel was nothing short of absolutely perfect. From start to finish, every moment on the water was just fantastically fun!

The boat was a pleasantly spacious and comfortable, and the crew was incredibly helpful and impressively knowledgeable about dolphins. Their expertise added a whole new layer of appreciation to the experience~

Snorkeling twice was a highlight, and I spotted a bunch of fish and turtles, but the real showstopper was seeing bottlenose dolphins gliding beneath us. It was definitely something I will never forget :)

We also got great views of Hawaiian spinner dolphins from the boat, and I can't describe just how adorable it is when you see them jumping and spinning out of the water. Definitely glad I had my phone camera ready!

Lunch was simple yet delicious, hitting the spot perfectly, and the availability of snacks was a great way to stay fueled for the adventure.

And a massive shoutout for the provided transportation from Waikiki to Waianae since it is almost an hour drive, and I wouldn't have been able to get out there any other way.

Can't wait to go again!!!

At the end of December, it was the rainy season, so the weather was bad and cold, making it impossible to stay in the sea for even 10 minutes. I quickly headed towards the parking lot, but there was no place to take shelter from the rain, and many people were gathered under the small roof of the shop and restroom. I thought it would be nice to have a facility with a roof to take shelter during such times.

The driver-guide was kind and friendly, but since the explanations were only in English, I couldn't understand anything and felt anxious from start to finish, which made the experience zero fun. While there were some pouches with explanations about the fish, I wished they could at least prepare a minimal Japanese pouch with the day's itinerary, return time, meeting place, and precautions for Hanauma Bay. I think Japanese people who cannot speak English should not participate. Conversely, if they want to attract Japanese customers, they should prepare explanatory pouches. If they don't need Japanese customers, then it's fine to continue as they have been. At least I managed to get back.

12月末で雨期だったので、天候が悪く、寒くて、10分も海に浸かることができないほど、直ぐに着替え駐車場の方に向かったが、雨宿りするところもなく売店とトイレの小さな屋根の所に大勢でいてましてが、こんな時に雨宿りできる屋根のある施設があれば良いのにな〜と思いました。
運転手ガイドさんは、優しくて親切ではありますが、英語の説明しかないので、全くわからず最初から最後まで不安で楽しさは、0でした。魚の説明のパウチ等は、軽く回されましたが、そのパウチを準備できるならせめて最小限の日本語の1日の流れ、帰りの時間と集合場所、ハナウマベイの注意事項等のパウチを準備して欲しかった。英語のできない日本人は、参加すべきでないと思います。逆に日本人のお客さんを獲得したいなら説明パウチを準備すべきだと思います。日本人のお客さんを必要ないと思うなら今まで通りで良いかと思います。何とか帰ってこれましたから

It was the first time for my whole family to go snorkeling, but thanks to the guide's clear explanations in Japanese and their company while diving, we were able to see many turtles and fish, creating wonderful memories. I definitely want to participate again next time.

I was taken care of during the Honolulu Marathon in December. There were staff members who spoke Japanese, so safety measures were well in place. My wife said it was cold when she came out of the ocean. As an older man, I didn't feel that at all, but it might be good to have a larger bath towel and a hoodie, especially for women. I had a wonderful time swimming with sea turtles!

Thank you very much to all the staff for your great support. Many of you spoke Japanese, and the explanations were easy to understand, which allowed me to enjoy the activities with peace of mind.
The water level was high that day, reaching about chest height (>_<) haha.

Our family tried to avoid spending too much money on our Hawaii vacation. But since swimming and snorkeling in the heavenly water is something we all love and can agree on we decided to find a snorkel boat tour. Soo glad we did! The Mana Kai crew were fun, helpful and comforting. We saw so many fish and turtles. It was an awesome experience and would do it again in a heart beat!
