Since I was planning to head towards Kailua in the afternoon, I didn't arrange for a shuttle and used the city bus instead. I obtained a prepaid card called Holo Card, which is exclusive to city buses, before heading to the location. (At ABC, only one-day passes are sold, so it's better to purchase a rechargeable card at places like Seven-Eleven.) The city bus is used frequently during the trip, so it's preferable to get it on the first day. The bus arrived almost on time, but the air conditioning was strong, so a light jacket is necessary. The bus fare is quite reasonable at a daily maximum of $7.50 compared to other transportation options, making it recommended for those looking to save money. I feel that a taxi would cost around $50 to $60? In Hawaii, prices fluctuate significantly based on supply and demand. Route searches can be done easily with Google Maps. I also used an app called DaBus2, but it seemed a bit difficult to use.

At the location, a Japanese guide (a local) provided explanations in Japanese, and although it was somewhat broken, it was understandable. There were a few Japanese tourists as well, so I think it's manageable even if you don't understand everything. You need to bring a copy of the consent form in advance, but even if you forget, they have it prepared there, so you can just head to the location without worry.

The sandbar was deep enough that when an adult (170 cm) stood, the water came up to just above their chest. I think it would be fine if the sun is out, but it can be a bit chilly, so having a rash guard would be reassuring.

During the round trip from He'eia Harbor to the sandbar, there were light snacks (donuts) and drinks (water, orange juice), and the performance by the two male musicians was quite good.

I would definitely like to use this plan again when I visit Hawaii.

現地では日本語ガイド(現地の方)が日本語にて説明して下さり、カタコトではあったが十分理解可能。日本人観光客も何組かおり、分からなくてもなんとかなると思います。事前に同意書のコピーを持参する必要があるが、忘れても向こうで用意してあるので最悪そのまま現地に向かえば大丈夫です。
サンドバーは大人(170cm)が立つと胸から上が水面から出る程度の深さでした。日差しがあれば大丈夫だと思うが、やや肌寒いので、ラッシュガードがあれば安心。

ヘエイア港からサンドバーまでの往復の間、軽食(ドーナツ)、水分(水、オレンジジュース)があり、男性2人組の演奏がかなり良かったです。

またハワイに訪れる際には利用したいと思えるプランでした。

Great Experience, Even with a Bump

I’m writing this review to emphasize how great the workers of this cruise are. Great atmosphere, the banana boat was extremely fun, and the driver was a joy. We also got to do some snorkeling, seeing some beautiful fish. My main point of this review is to talk about how amazing the crew was when hit with a massive change. As we were enjoying our time, it got caught short due to a Tsunami warning. Every crew member was fantastic with this, making everyone feel safe and less nervous. It’s a really great time, just pray that you don’t unexpectedly get a tsunami warning!

The crew was very kind, and there were staff members who spoke Japanese, which made me feel at ease. The banana boat was thrilling. Additionally, seeing sea turtles up close was amazing. It was my first experience with stand-up paddleboarding. I was able to stand, but with the waves, it was difficult to go in the direction I wanted. The live music was also great. However, it was disappointing that the sandbar was submerged and not visible.

Unfortunately, when we arrived at Sandbar, the beach was visible, but by the time we received the explanation and got on the canoe that was prepared for us, it was submerged.

You can check the tide schedule on the website, so it's recommended to confirm that before you go, but even without that, you can have a lot of fun.

I used this tour company for a family trip (my kids are in 8th and 6th grade). This is my third experience at the sandbar, but I choose this tour company every time. The reasons are that the staff is cheerful and fun, the boat is large and has a roof, you can enjoy light snacks, the live music is exciting, and you can enjoy marine sports. This time, I signed up for the banana boat experience. During the banana boat ride, we spotted a sea turtle, so they stopped the boat for us. They also respond to music requests. Overall, there seems to be a lot of American participants, but there are Japanese staff members guiding us. Other staff members also communicate in broken Japanese. I plan to use this tour again.

The staff were all very friendly, but most of the people around were native speakers, and announcements and services were only in English, so those who prefer service in Japanese might find it inconvenient. Inside, there are long benches and long tables, and they guide you according to your group.

The activities were plentiful; my husband enjoyed beach volleyball, and our first-grade child was thrilled to see tropical fish with the floaties and goggles we brought, as well as a life jacket that was available for rent. It seems you can walk in the coral areas, so I think it's essential for children to have beach shoes (that can be worn in the water) to prevent injuries. Adults would also feel more secure having them.

After snorkeling, I spent a relaxing time on a boat with my daughter, enjoying the beautiful sea while riding on a SUP (you don't have to stand). On the way back, everyone was happily dancing to live music, and we were all healed by the aloha music at the end, creating a special memory.

As for snacks, there weren't any meals like sandwiches, and only donuts were provided (which ran out early due to competition), so it's better to bring your own if you think you'll need more. Coffee is made by getting the grounds and adding hot water yourself. Alcohol is available for a fee. There are two toilets, but they don't have automatic flushing, so you have to use the water from the bottle inside the toilet to flush it yourself.

私はシュノーケリングの後、娘と好きなようにSUPに乗ったり(立たなくていい)綺麗な海を見ながら船でのんびり過ごしました。帰りはライブミュージックでみんな楽しくダンスしていて最後はアロハミュージックに癒されて特別な思い出になりました。

軽食ですが、サンドウィッチなど食事になるものはなく、ドーナツしか用意がなかったので(争奪戦で前半になくなる)足りない人は持参した方が良いです。コーヒーは粉をもらって自分でお湯を入れます。お酒は有料です。
トイレは２つありますが、自動洗浄はなくトイレの中に置いてある水ボトルの水を自分で流します。

I had a great time with the cheerful crew who spoke broken Japanese. They were always there to help when I had trouble while canoeing in the sea. Fun day at the sandbar

The whole staff was so friendly and was so helpful for first timers. It was high tide and we did snorkeling first, the kids loved it learning for the first time. I tried paddle boarding and it was hard for me but still fun. The kids did the banana boat and it was fast and my three year old granddaughter had to ride on the boat instead, but she still had a blast. The band played Island music and it was perfect. We were there at the sandbar for three hours and it was exhausting but still fun. We would love to come here again next year.

We participated with two adults and four children (ages 2 to 13). We were a bit anxious because it was slightly cheaper than other tours and only had English-speaking staff, but I thought communication would be fine as long as we could manage simple conversations. The boat was more luxurious than we expected, and we had a comfortable time.

During the snorkeling, we saw about 5 to 6 sea turtles from a distance for around 40 to 50 minutes. One of the local staff members was snorkeling and pointed out where the turtles were, but he wasn't very proactive, so we ended up diving and searching for them ourselves. However, we were thrilled to see one up close! If I have the chance to go again, I would love to participate.

Be Aware If You Are On The Shorter Side

This was our second time doing this sandbar tour with this company. The staff is always very nice and there are beautiful views. The first trip went really well however, this second trip was not so great.
I am aware of high and low tide times which both times were high tide, but this time the water was over my head and windy with a pretty strong current. I am 5’ 1” and it made it near impossible to do anything at all. I know the staff cannot control ocean levels but just something to keep in mind for shorter people or people with kids. I would have been better off just saving the money and walking out into the regular ocean as far as I could before it got too deep.

The banana boat can accommodate six people in two rows for two families. It was so much fun! You won't get thrown off. Due to the tides, we couldn't reach the sandy beach, but that's understandable. You don't need water shoes at all. Both stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking were enjoyable, and even though we didn't see any turtles, we were happy to see lots of fish. Staying in the water for too long can get chilly, and if you get out while still wet, it gets even colder, so having a dry towel or a dry jacket is necessary. There are cold juices or water on the boat, but you can pay for hot coffee. My daughter and I kept drinking hot water to warm ourselves up. Also, my husband almost caused a commotion when he dropped his phone, which was in a waterproof bag, but the staff found it, and we were really grateful for that. Thank you so much for your help at that time. Next time, I’d like to go when the sandy beach is visible!

バナナボートは2家族の横2列の6人乗り。めっちゃ楽しかったです。振り落とされる事はありません。潮の満ち引きなので仕方ないですが砂浜には出会えませんでした。ウォーターシューズはなくても全然大丈夫。サップもカヤックも楽しかったし、カメには出会えなかったけどたくさんの魚を見られて良かったです。海の中にずっといると冷えるし、上がっても濡れたままだと更に冷えるので、乾いたタオルか乾いた上着が必要です。船上には冷たいジュースか水ですが、お金を払えば暖かいコーヒーがあります。私と娘はお湯をひたすら飲んで身体を温めました。あと、旦那が防水袋に入れたスマホを落としてしまい、大騒ぎになりかけましたが、スタッフが見つけてくれて本当に助かりました。あの時はありがとうございました。次は砂浜が出てる時に行ってみたいですね〜

Best boat trip ever

Our family, including 5 children ages 7 to 20 & 3 seniors took this boating excursion. It was fantastic! I recommend getting the all inclusive package so you can enjoy the banana boat & bumper tube. All the staff were great & the entertainment was good too. The staff keep everyone safe in the water & were constantly looking out for guest safety.

Beautiful spot, tide wasn't super low (which you can't really control) but the snorkeling was just mediocre, per my friends that did it. We were on the boat most of the time eating cup of noodles, the live music was awesome and one of the guys that took people out for the banana ride was super nice and fun to chat with. The guy handing out goggles was a bit all over the place, I stood in line twice to get my goggles and he kept giving everyone theirs as I just stood there waiting and I almost thought he was doing that on purpose as it happened 2x so I just gave up and said well I guess I'm not snorkeling today. That was a bit disappointing. I think for the price, it wasn't really worth it. There are better tours here on the island.
