I participated in other activities as well, but my high school-aged child said this was the most fun. My elementary school-aged daughter was scared of snorkeling and couldn't get in the water, so she didn't enjoy it as much. I thought it was great to experience various cultures through songs and dances. There were many staff members, so I felt safe participating. I highly recommend this tour.

I wanted to see the sandbar, but even though I chose a tour date that would arrive at the sandbar right at low tide, the water level was still up to my waist at the end of January due to the rainy season. However, I knew this from my research, so I enjoyed paddleboarding and snorkeling instead. On the day of the tour, the weather was great, and the water wasn't cold. The staff were very kind, taking videos for us and answering our questions patiently, which was really helpful. Even without seeing the sandbar, I had a great time, but if I have the chance again, I would love to join a tour during the dry season.

We took a snorkel trip with the Moana boat crew and had a fantastic experience. We set sail on the beautiful catamaran at 0830 and to head out see the sea turtles at the infamous 'shell-cleaning' reef which is located just outside the breakers off Waikiki beach. Our Capt for the day, Anthony, was personable, friendly and made us all feel welcome aboard the boat. Zack and Sarah were the other two crew members and they were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout the entire trip. 100% would sail with this crew again. Bring some tip $ for them, because they definitely deserve it. Book a tour today!

The snorkel site is popular and several boats are in the area, which is nice because you don't feel like you're out in the middle of the ocean alone. It can get busy with everyone trying to see the turtles and fish so be sure to keep an eye on the surface as well as watching what is below. Some turtles even come over to our boat and I snapped a photo (attached to this review). Overall water depth is about 20-30 feet and even on a cloudy & murky day (like ours) we could easily see numerous fish and several large sea turtles. We were even lucky enough to see Humpback whales (mom & baby)!!

We booked our trip in mid/late Feb and it was overcast & rainy. A bit chilly at times, but come prepared and it's a fun trip regardless. Plenty of covered space to store dry items, but a "drybag" is a nice touch on any beach/water adventure.
We booked the 0830 trip to maximize sea life activity which also resulted in 2 families being on the boat....8 people total. Virtually a private tour! When we pulled back into the pier for the next tour there were about 20-25 people waiting for the next tour. And, parking at the marina is easier before the crowds arrive.

Can't Miss Activity on Ohau!

My husband and I, with my 21 year old son, had so much fun on our recent trip to Kaneohe Bay Sandbar with Ocean Sports Adventure. The trip started with an easy check-in process. We left the pier at 9:30 and arrived at the sandbar in 15 minutes. During this time, the crew served donuts and drinks while two musicians played live music. They were really good and professional. When we arrived there, we snorkeled first. Lots of reef fish! Then we tried SUP for the first time. Since it was such a windy day, the crew made sure we didn't float away to the areas that we weren't supposed to be. The captain took some of us on his boat and went to a nearby reef where green sea turtles are. We saw 2 of them! I highly recommend this activity to anyone!

SUP, kayaking, and snorkeling were so much fun!

The staff was kind and attentive, and I definitely want to go back! They are friendly and make sure you have a great time.

I went in February 2023, so it was a bit chilly, but I really enjoyed it.

The best tour ever. Went with this tour 4-5 times already and we absolutely love it. I took all my visitors there! All my friends and families love it. The stuffs are super friendly and they are the best people. The boat caption , Kevin is the nicest guy ever. So much activities to do : kayak , paddle board , snorkeling and banana boat. We were able to participate as a family. There was an initial explanation, but I could hardly understand it in English. Just before entering the water, I realized that wearing the rental life jackets was not optional for those diving; everyone had to wear one. It would be easier to understand if there were boards displaying information in multiple languages.

The snorkeling was fantastic, with clear weather and a wonderful encounter with a turtle. There were some waves as we headed out to sea, and I got a bit seasick. Participants should be cautious about that. However, even in that situation, I felt safe. The staff were kind and helped me recover quickly.

At the end, we took a commemorative photo with the staff. It was a great memory to be able to swim with the turtle as well.

最後はスタッフさんと記念撮影。亀さんとも一緒に泳ぐことができいい思い出になりました。

Absolutely recommended for first timers to Kaneohe

Great trip and highly recommended. The crew and live music were great and the activities included (paddle board, kayak, snorkel, volleyball) kept me and my wife busy during our time at the sandbar. We also saw live coral and a ton of fish as well as an octopus hiding near the anchor. Definitely a tour anyone should consider if they haven't visited the sandbar before. Having the boat also allowed us to avoid the sun and stay hydrated after the activities, sometime we wouldn't have been able to do if we had kayaked over from the harbor on our own.

The tour was absolutely amazing, the experience was so fun. I suggested my family and friends to visit hawaii and book the Kaneohe sand bar!y boyfriend and I had so much fun and the staffs were so friendly and helpful and so patient with everyone! Kaneohe ocean sports at the sandbar was amazing! We started with either glazed or chocolate donuts with lemonade. When we got to the sandbar they had a variety of activities including kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, volleyball and snorkeling. We loved the snorkeling! They took us to an area of the sandbar that was still shallow enough to stand but had plenty of coral to swim around and explore. Staff was friendly and constantly kept watch over the participants, making this a safe and enjoyable environment. Overall would definitely recommend especially for families

Great afternoon excursion

Staff were excellent and I would highly recommend that lunch excursion. We upgraded for the banana boat ride for our granddaughters when checking in. We were offered to ride in the boat so that we could get videos of the girls on the ride.
Water was shallow and bit difficult to snorkel.
Parking is at a premium and I had to wait in the lot until someone pulled out.
