Hayato, the Japanese guide, rode with us on the shuttle bus and provided explanations on the way to the port. The photographer was a foreigner, but he tried to communicate using a translation device and was very kind. The boat was double-decker, with foreigners on the first floor and Japanese on the second. There were two Japanese guides on the second floor to assist us. It was quite rocky, and some people felt sick, so it's advisable to take motion sickness medication. 私たちが参加した日は残念ながらイルカと一緒に泳ぐことはできなかったのですが、船の上からイルカを見ることはできました。（エリアによって一緒に泳げないエリアがあります。）またシュノーケルエリアでは亀がいたので、亀と一緒に泳ぐことはできました。
帰りのバスでホテル前で降りようとしましたが、目の前で扉を閉められてしまい、結局最後にもう一度ホテルに寄って降ろしてもらいました。運転手さんは日本語が話せない方で耳も遠い感じだったので、英語に自信のない方は前方の席に座って素早く降りることをおすすめします。

Thank you very much for the many first-time experiences. Instructor Minako helped Hayato-kun and we went snorkeling. It was amazing to swim with dolphins while wearing the snorkel. I was very satisfied to see dolphins, sea turtles, and many beautiful fish. The staff were professional and very efficient, making it a fun experience without any dull moments.

The shuttle bus arrived right on time. The boat was equipped with warm showers and toilets, and the lunch sandwiches were much tastier than I expected, plus they served warm drinks at the end.

There is an experienced Japanese interpreter, so even those who cannot speak English can feel at ease. Since the boat can be quite rocky, I recommend taking motion sickness medication and enjoying the view of the mountains. It gets chilly after coming out of the water, so it's a good idea to bring warm clothing (like a jacket and pants). The wetsuits are easy to put on and it gets quite cold, so I think renting one is a good idea!

Thank you so much to Shanti, Stefan, Minako, Tara, Yuya, Laura, Lauren, Tim, and Parker (sorry if I missed anyone… all the staff on board were perfect!) for the wonderful memories.

This was our first trip to Hawaii, and we stayed for a week with my family (my husband, our 10-year-old daughter, and me). We also participated in a dolphin tour for the first time.

The meeting time was early at 5:30 AM in front of our hotel, but it was manageable if we went to bed early the night before.

I was worried about the weather since it had been changing from rain to sunshine up until the day before, but fortunately, it cleared up, and we were able to set sail.

I tend to get motion sickness and took medication, but I ended up getting sick five times. A few others on the tour also experienced this. I regretted not taking the medication earlier, but I suppose it couldn't be helped.

At the beginning, as we set sail, we all participated in a traditional Hawaiian prayer in Hawaiian, asking for safety on our journey and to encounter dolphins, while throwing plumeria flowers into the sea. At that moment, the sun broke through the cloudy sky, and it felt like we had received permission, creating a magical atmosphere!

A wetsuit is a must! I recommend purchasing one as an option.

When we spotted dolphins, I was feeling unwell and stayed on the boat, but my husband and daughter put on their snorkels and entered the water. The staff really got everyone excited, and I was able to enjoy it more than I expected. It was my first time, and it was my wife's third, but we were very satisfied to see dolphins swimming alongside the boat and to spot humpback whales multiple times, which is a rare experience.

Although I couldn't swim with the dolphins, I was able to swim with turtles during the snorkeling session, and it was also great to experience the waterslide and stand-up paddleboarding.

My morning with Iruka Hawaii's dolphin swim and snorkel was nothing short of absolutely perfect. From start to finish, every moment on the water was just fantastically fun!

The boat was a pleasantly spacious and comfortable, and the crew was incredibly helpful and impressively knowledgeable about dolphins. Their expertise added a whole new layer of appreciation to the experience~

Snorkeling twice was a highlight, and I spotted a bunch of fish and turtles, but the real showstopper was seeing bottlenose dolphins gliding beneath us. It was definitely something I will never forget :)

We also got great views of Hawaiian spinner dolphins from the boat, and I can't describe just how adorable it is when you see them jumping and spinning out of the water. Definitely glad I had my phone camera ready!

Lunch was simple yet delicious, hitting the spot perfectly, and the availability of snacks was a great way to stay fueled for the adventure.

And a massive shoutout for the provided transportation from Waikiki to Waianae since it is almost an hour drive, and I wouldn't have been able to get out there any other way.

Can't wait to go again!!!

I was very grateful for the detailed explanations and precautions provided by the Japanese guide for activities that could be life-threatening if one missteps, such as being in the ocean. However, I was strictly lectured about the cultural differences between Hawaii (America) and Japan, mainly regarding the tipping culture and the quality of service.

I am already aware of these differences and do not expect the same level of service as in Japan while abroad. I understand that some participants may not grasp these concepts, but the way it was conveyed felt quite condescending, almost as if the guide was ashamed of Japanese people. I understand the sentiment, but it was uncomfortable. It would have been better to casually say something like, "Please leave your tips here at the end. Feel free to ask if you have any questions," rather than raising one's voice and dragging out the explanation.

Additionally, during the dolphin watching from the boat, when the dolphins were only visible in the distance, the guide said to the Japanese guests (not us), "You've seen them, right? Hurry back to your seats!" which left a bad taste in my mouth. We participated to see the dolphins, after all. Perhaps it was due to concerns about seasickness? Again, I thought the delivery could have been better.

On a positive note, the explanations about the ecology of sea turtles and dolphins, as well as the advice for dolphin swimming, were very helpful and appreciated. Thanks to that, I was able to jump in without hesitation and saw both dolphins and honu.

Regarding the activity plan, I was looking forward to snorkeling, SUP, and water slides besides dolphin swimming, but the time was very short, and we couldn't do SUP, which was disappointing, though I understand it was due to the schedule. It felt like a bonus. If given another opportunity, I plan to participate in these marine activities with dedicated time.

While I have shared many critiques, I want to emphasize that we did not experience seasickness thanks to effective medication, and we were able to encounter dolphins and honu, which was very moving, so I am glad we participated. The staff, aside from the aforementioned issues, were all very friendly, cheerful, and enjoyable to be around. The photographer was also very nice and provided detailed answers about dolphin ecology. We were able to purchase many photos for just $65, which became a wonderful memory. Thank you.

Regarding tips, Japanese participants often wonder how much to give, so I’ll share my thoughts for reference. The Japanese guide mentioned that the usual tip is around 20%, with a minimum of about 10%. When we participated in other activities where we received excellent service, we each gave 25%. For those who provided exceptional service, we also give individual tips separately. For this activity, we tipped about 15% each. We also left about 10% collectively for the shuttle bus.

そんなこと承知の上ですし海外にきて日本と同等のサービスなど求めておりません。
参加者の中にそれらを理解されていない方もおられるのかと存じますが、言い方がどうも･･･そんな日本人を恥と思っているような物言いで正直不快でした。気持ちは分かりますが･･･
無知な方がおられるのか知りませんが声を荒げてダラダラと説明する内容ではないですね。サラッとスマートに「チップは終わりにここにちょうだいねー。分からなければ気軽に聞いて」など一言添える程度で良いのでは？

あと、船上からのイルカウォッチングの際、遠くに小さく見える程度で皆さん一生懸命みていてやっと少し近づくと１分もたたないで「もう見たからいいでしょ！早く席に戻って！」と言っていた（私達ではない日本人客に対して）のにも気分が悪くなりました。
私たちはイルカを見るために参加しているのです。
船酔いを心配してでしょうか？やはりここでも言い方が悪いなと思ってしまいました。

しかし、ウミガメやイルカの生態についての説明や、ドルフィンスイムの際に見るためのアドバイス等はとてもためになり良かったです。

アクティビティのプランについて
ドルフィンスイム以外のシュノーケルやSUPやウォータースライダーなども楽しみにしていましたが時間がとても短くてSUPまでは出来ずで残念でしたがタイムスケジュール的に仕方ないかなと。オマケみたいなものですね。
また機会があればこれらのマリンアクテビティは別でしっかり時間をとったものに参加しようと思います。

私達は酔い止めも薬もしっかり効き船酔いすることもなく、イルカやホヌにも出会えとても感動しましたので参加して良かったと思っています。
スタッフの方も上記のこと以外はすごくフレンドリーで明るく楽しい方ばかりで良かったです。
カメラマンの方もとても良い方でイルカの生態についても質問すると詳しく教えていただけました。写真もたくさん枚数があるのに65ドルで購入できとても良い思い出となりました。ありがとうございます。


チップについでですが、日本人参加者の方々はどのくらい渡そうかと悩みますので参考までに書いておきます。
その日本人ガイドさんも普通20%位で 〜10%程度とおっしゃっており、私達も他のアクティビティに参加した際、とても良くしていただいたのでその時は25%を夫婦各々で渡しました。また特別お世話になったなと感じた人にはそれとは別で個別に渡すようにしています。今回こちらのアクティビティでは夫婦各自15%程度を。送り迎えのバスには夫婦でまとめて10%程度入れて帰りました。

前回夏に体験した時よりも波が高く、沖に出ると風も冷たく、水温も引くかったです。日焼け防止にラッシュガードを上下着用していましたが、風があたると濡れたラッシュガードが冷えてしまい、終始震えていました。途中から席の移動が自由に出来るので、日焼けはしますが、景色も素晴らしいですし、船酔いと寒さ対策には2階にいることをおすすめします。

マリンアクティビティは、船からのスライダーが最高でした！
プロカメラマンの裕也さんがバブルリングをやってくれました。今から写真が楽しみです。

It was great until we got on the boat, but the waves were so strong that I got seasick and couldn't enjoy it at all. The pickup car arrived about 15 minutes after the meeting time. (I was a bit worried, but) I think it's best to relax and wait, thinking it's HAWAII TIME. Despite the early morning, the driver was in high spirits, which lifted my mood!

If you're worried about seasickness, it's better to take some medication beforehand. Our family all took it, so we didn't experience any seasickness at all, but about 4 to 5 people were unable to move due to it.

When we spotted dolphins, we jumped in one by one. Those who jumped in earlier had a higher chance of seeing them, but those who didn't see them were prioritized to jump in next, so everyone was able to see the dolphins.

We boarded a boat to search for dolphins, and when we found them, we dove into the sea.

It was great that children as young as 2 years old could board. Our three generations, including a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old, had a wonderful time! When we were chasing dolphins, the 2-year-old stayed on the boat and was delighted to see the dolphins from the second floor, saying they were cute. The 5-year-old tried twice but ended up crying because the mask didn't fit. The 7-year-old was in great shape! I was so moved when I saw dolphins on an online tour that I thought I definitely wanted to participate when I went to Hawaii!

We boarded the boat and headed to where the dolphins were, but it seemed like a child sitting nearby got seasick.
