The pickup was early at 6:05 AM, which is quite a start. Starting next year, due to changes in American law, it may become illegal to approach dolphins within 100 yards, so thereโs a possibility that the tour itself may be discontinued. I thought this might be my last chance to swim with wild dolphins in Waikiki this year, so I signed up. There were no changing rooms or showers, which was inconvenient, but the fun far outweighed that. We discovered a pod of dolphins and immediately jumped in at the guide's instruction. If you hesitate, you might miss them; dolphins are very fast. It doesnโt feel like swimming with dolphins; it feels like dolphins are zooming past you at high speed around and below you. After watching the dolphins, we enjoyed super fun snorkeling surrounded by colorful fish, and we were able to see sea turtles up close (but touching them is not allowed). You can also enjoy kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. The crew and staff were very friendly, and we had a great time playing in the ocean. We were able to return by early afternoon, so we had plenty of time for sightseeing afterward.

This was my first time participating. I was sleepy from the early morning pickup, but I took a short nap in the car while receiving instructions and explanations about the tour. We arrived at the port around 8:00. After a restroom break and applying sunscreen, we boarded the boat. There was an introduction of the captain, staff, and photographer, followed by a departure ceremony. Each of us held a plumeria flower and sang the song "Eho Mai" as we set off to search for dolphins. After about 30 to 40 minutes, we spotted a pod of dolphins, and with the captain's "Go!" signal, everyone jumped in!
However, the pod quickly disappeared, and we had to wait. After that, the dolphins were hard to find, and we extended our search by 90 minutes. Once my wet body started to feel cold in the wind, the captain gave the "Go!" signal again!
It was an indescribably mystical sight. Right in front of us was a pod of dolphins, and there were about 30 to 40 of them nearby, both below and in the distance. We were able to see the dolphins at a very close range.

My first trip to Hawaii!!
About two days before my departure, I saw this tour featured on a stylish program about Hawaii, so I made a reservation. I participated with my boyfriend.
**About the Pickup**
Since our hotel was included as a pickup point for the tour, it was convenient to board the bus right from the front entrance of the hotel. Before the bus arrived, a cheerful female staff member who spoke Japanese came to inform us that the bus was slightly delayed due to traffic, which made me feel at ease.
**On the Bus**
During the ride, the lively staff member shared interesting information about the geography and climate of Oahu, snorkeling precautions, and stories about dolphins and sea turtles, which kept us entertained!
**Arrival at the Port**
Once we arrived at the port, we were given ample time to use the restroom.
**Boarding & the Main Event: Dolphins and Sea Turtles**
We headed to a beautiful sea that felt like nature, quite different from the urban Waikiki Beach! We went quite far out. The boat was designed to minimize rocking, so no one experienced seasickness. The cobalt blue color of the sea is unforgettable. After a while, we spotted dolphins jumping around. I was surprised at how easily we could see them! Then, we put on our gear and dove into the water!! We quickly saw a pod of dolphins. I even heard the dolphins making sounds like "quee-quee"!
We returned to the boat, changed locations, and dove again. I was glad to meet the dolphins both times! One piece of advice: when instructed to enter the water, even if you feel a bit scared, it's better to get in as quickly as possible to increase your chances of seeing the dolphins. Some people who hesitated on the boat missed seeing the dolphins when they finally got in. I jumped in quickly and had a great encounter with the dolphins!
Back on the boat, we headed to the spot where the sea turtles were! Snorkeling was so much fun. I saw colorful fish and coral. Then, we were told there was a sea turtle nearby! As I swam over, there was the sea turtle! Watching it felt like time stood still; it was a magical experience.
The reason this tour refers to dolphins as "teachers" and sea turtles as "professors" will become clear once you participate. It truly felt mystical, and I was filled with a sense of awe, as if my heart was being seen through.
**Marine Sports**
I tried stand-up paddleboarding. It was a short time due to the rotation, but I enjoyed it!
**Food**
On the boat, we were provided with pineapple, juice, snacks, and cheeseburgers. The cheeseburger was slightly warm and delicious! It felt very accommodating.
**Atmosphere on the Boat**
We were given lyric sheets and sang traditional Hawaiian songs and danced. All the staff were cheerful, and it was a lot of fun!
**Return**
When disembarking, tipping was not required. We were also taken back to our hotel by bus, just like on the way there, which was convenient.

This was my first tour, and I went with my mother. It was also my first time snorkeling, but the guide explained everything clearly on the bus, so there were no issues at all. When we left the hotel, it was raining quite heavily, and I was worried, but by the time we arrived at the port, it was clear skies!! This was our first time participating in Dolphin University as a pair. Since we were on the first bus, it was really early in the morning, but the staff member kept everyone energized, so I wasn't sleepy at all! I also learned a lot of interesting facts about dolphins.
When we arrived at the port and boarded the boat, we spotted dolphins in about five minutes!!! Around 20 dolphins were right in front of us! After that, we returned to the boat to relax, and then we saw another group of dolphins! This time, we even got to see a baby dolphin swimming along, and we were thrilled to witness dolphin jumps live! Later, we encountered three sea turtles, and I was constantly amazed throughout the trip!
We also had a packed schedule with canoeing, paddle surfing, a jumping contest from the boat, and a hula dance with all the participants! The pineapple and cheeseburger we had on the boat were really delicious. I was quite anxious about whether we would actually see dolphins before going, but it turned out to be an incredibly satisfying tour. Oh, for those who are worried about seasickness, I definitely recommend taking motion sickness medication beforehand (there were participants who got sick...). Also, a professional photographer took a lot of pictures during the tour, and I think it's definitely worth buying those photos! They were taken beautifully!
Next time I go to Hawaii, I absolutely want to participate again!

This was my first time using the service! We participated as a couple because we could swim with dolphins while snorkeling. We got on the shuttle from the Sheraton early in the morning, and it felt like the one-hour ride flew by while listening to the fun stories from our tour guide. We chose Dolphin University for our family trip with three generations, ranging from 6 to 61 years old. This was my number one activity for the trip, and everyone was moved by the experience! The staff were really kind and funny, and we had a great time. We saw plenty of dolphins and sea turtles, and we were very satisfied. They also took a lot of photos, so we have wonderful memories. I participated in the Dolphin University on August 18. I was a bit skeptical about whether I could really swim with wild dolphins, but I was able to swim with a pod of over 30 dolphins. Additionally, wild sea turtles came right up to the boat. The fifth-grade children were also very excited. The local guides were kind and made the experience really enjoyable. I searched online for a tour to swim with wild dolphins and signed up for "Dolphin University," which had the best reviews. It was a great decision. The schedule involved being picked up by a bus from the hotel at 6 AM, traveling along the west coast of Oahu for about an hour to reach the port. During the ride, the female staff shared detailed explanations about dolphins and turtles, tips for swimming well with dolphins, and snorkeling precautions, which made the journey exciting and tense as we quickly arrived at the port.
We immediately boarded the boat, sang "Ehomai" to pray for safe sailing, and set off. Fifteen minutes later, we encountered the first pod of dolphins, which included a mother and her baby (about five dolphins spotted). The second pod had over 20 dolphins! They swam gracefully beneath us as we floated with our snorkels. They were incredibly fast! On that day, there were three pods in the bay. The dolphins even showcased some spindle jumps. I felt super lucky and wished I could swim with them a little longer.

At the end of June, during our company trip, I visited Hawaii for the first time and wanted to experience something unique to Hawaii, so I signed up for this tour to meet wild dolphins and sea turtles.
On the morning of the tour, we gathered at the meeting point and departed as soon as everyone arrived. The bus ride takes about an hour if thereโs no traffic. During the ride, the instructor and the bus driver introduced themselves and explained the precautions for participating in the tour and the day's itinerary. Motion sickness medication can also be purchased for about $2, so if you donโt have any and need it, you can buy it on the bus. Even if youโre confident you wonโt get sick, the boat can sway quite a bit depending on the weather, so I recommend buying and taking the motion sickness medication. In fact, there were a few people who didnโt take it and ended up getting sick on the boat. If you get seasick, you wonโt be able to enjoy the tour to the fullest, so be sure to take it.
Before long, we arrived at the port, and those who wanted to rent wetsuits settled the rental fee. You can also sign up for wetsuit rental on the bus. As other reviewers have mentioned, even if itโs warm on land, returning to the boat with a wet body can be much colder than you expect, so I recommend renting one.
Once we were ready, we set off. There were about 20 to 30 people, and the bus was nearly full. Along with the participants, there were three instructors who joined us from the bus, as well as the captain and his son. The boat is equipped with a restroom, which is reassuring. The instructors kept the atmosphere lively on the boat.
This time, we were lucky with the weather, and about five minutes after departure, we spotted a pod of dolphins.
Following the instructor's instructions, we quickly changed into our wetsuits and got ready. I was so excited, but since we were dealing with nature, I knew that being unprepared could be dangerous. I calmly listened to the instructor's explanations and prepared myself.
Once we were ready, we entered the water one by one as instructed. It was my first experience with snorkeling, so I was initially scared, but wearing a life jacket helped me get used to it quickly. Once in the water, we swam towards the pod of dolphins. It does require a fair amount of stamina.
Since the dolphins are constantly moving, staying close to the instructor makes it easier to encounter the pods.
I missed the first pod of dolphins, but when the next one appeared, I stayed close to the instructor and was able to see the dolphins clearly.
The wild dolphins were incredibly mystical, cute, and moving.
After seeing the dolphins, we moved to a spot with lots of colorful tropical fish for snorkeling. Here, in addition to snorkeling, those who wanted could also enjoy activities like paddle surfing. I decided to stick with snorkeling this time.
We were also lucky to encounter a sea turtle and swim alongside it. It felt like we were swimming right next to each other.
After finishing snorkeling, we returned to the boat, changed out of our wetsuits, and prepared to head back to the port.
On the way back, we saw several sea turtles.
During the ride back to the port, we had a great time eating hamburgers, singing and dancing with the instructors and other participants, and enjoying the scenery.

After about 15 minutes on the boat, we arrived at the spot where the dolphins are. We quickly put on our masks and fins and dove in! There were really so many dolphins welcoming us. I think there were more than 20. We briefly drifted away, but they came back to us, and as the instructor mentioned, the dolphins all seemed to be swimming relaxed. I have been to Hawaii several times and previously participated in a dolphin school. At that time, I was able to meet the dolphin instructor, but I could hardly see them for a moment. So, this time I enrolled in university for a second chance.
The weather was great, and on the bus ride there, a cheerful lady talked about the dolphin instructor and important notes in a fun way. Her enthusiasm for dolphins was contagious, and I got excited to swim with the dolphin instructor!
Once we boarded the boat, I didn't feel seasick and enjoyed a comfortable cruise. It felt a bit long as we struggled to find the dolphin instructor, but when we finally spotted them, everyone was super excited! We jumped into the sea one after another! Many children participated in the tour, and the staff helped the little ones into the water, pulling them along with floaties, which made it feel safe and enjoyable for families.
When the dolphin instructor approached, the staff shouted, "Look down!" so we swam desperately in that direction. Then, right below us was a pod of dolphins! I couldn't believe how many there were! I was so moved that I forgot to take videos at first and just stared in awe.
After that, we went snorkeling. There weren't many colorful fish, but I enjoyed the beautiful, clear sea. When we got back on the boat, I was hungry and the cheeseburger was really delicious!
A photographer accompanied us and took various pictures, but we couldn't take photos with our own cameras or smartphones, possibly because they wanted us to purchase the photos. I would have loved to take casual pictures with the staff.
I only caught a glimpse of a turtle for a moment, which was disappointing, but meeting so many dolphin instructors became a wonderful memory! On the way back, I was so tired that I fell into a deep sleep and have no recollection of it (laughs).
If I have the opportunity to go to Hawaii again, I would definitely want to join this tour!

During our recent trip to Hawaii, we finally got to participate in a tour with wild dolphins at Dolphin University, which we had been looking forward to. We were a family of four, and I was a bit nervous about whether we would encounter dolphins, especially since I had my 5-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter with me. However, we were fortunate enough to come across a large pod, and my son, who was snorkeling for the second time, was incredibly excited to see them. Honestly, I underestimated it. I thought that "swimming with dolphins" would just mean seeing the shadows of dolphins in the distance... I was completely wrong. The dolphins were swimming right next to me. There were so many dolphins swimming close enough that I could reach out and touch them. Occasionally, they would come closer, swimming in circles right beneath me, and when they put their heads in the water, I could hear their sounds, like "wee-wee." It was truly an amazing experience.
After that, we had activities like kayaking and paddleboarding, and I was able to see sea turtles up close. The stand-up paddleboarding was a bit challenging for me, but I enjoyed snorkeling enough. I learned that sea turtles come up for air about every 20 minutes, and they would suddenly appear from the seabed, swimming alongside us for photos, and then another turtle would come up... it was fantastic.
The weather was great, and the sea was calm, making it an absolutely wonderful experience.

This was my first trip to Hawaii, and I went for my honeymoon. Swimming with dolphins was a first for me, and I was so moved that they came so close. Seeing wild dolphins was a wonderful memory, much more than seeing them in an aquarium. Some of the staff speak Japanese fluently, and above all, everyone is cheerful! My First Trip to Hawaii
I had always wanted to take my two rebellious daughters on a tour to see dolphins. After searching around, I decided to join this tour because it offered the chance to see wild dolphins and sea turtles. It seemed to be a popular tour, which made me even more excited.
A shuttle picked us up near our hotel, and we set off right away. After completing the necessary paperwork in the vehicle, we relaxed until we arrived at the ocean. The port we arrived at felt quite small and rural, which raised a little concern, but we boarded the boat anyway.
On the boat, we sang Hawaiian songs together as we headed to the dolphin point. We put on our life jackets, fins, and snorkeling gear, and as soon as we arrived at the point, we jumped into the water! That day, the earlier group had already seen dolphins, so we were hopeful we would spot them soon! I was glad we booked the second trip!
Then, just as the guide had explained, we saw the sign to look underwater!!! It seemed there were dolphins, so my kids and I held hands and desperately tried to find themโฆ There they are! Dolphins!!! We were all so excited! We kicked our legs and swam after the dolphins.
The dolphins were magical, swimming silently in the water. It was wonderful. Although the visibility was low and it was a bit dark, it was truly amazing. After getting back on the boat, we moved to a spot where we could see sea turtles.
This time, dolphins were swimming alongside the boat!! They even jumped! What a fantastic experience! [Of course, they were wild.] We were so thrilled! It was such a joy to see them jumping alongside the boat, almost like a dolphin show at an aquarium [though comparing is a bit unfair].
Afterward, we had hamburgers for lunch, saw sea turtles, and even got to paddleboard if we wanted. It was a jam-packed tour. While we were busy having fun, we didnโt take many photos, but they took plenty of pictures for us, and they also sell photos from underwater, so we can keep many memories.
Above all, even though it was a bit cool and the water visibility was low that day, it was the best tour ever!! I definitely want to join again when I go to Hawaii!

I participated in this trip with my husband for our honeymoon.
In the early morning, we boarded a bus that came to pick us up at the hotel. The guide was full of energy and talked non-stop until we reached the port! Not only did they keep the atmosphere lively, but they also taught us how to swim, shared information about dolphins, and provided insights about Hawaii, which was very educational.
We were able to rent wetsuits for $10. Even in June, the water was cold, so the suit that covered up to my wrists on the upper body and up to my knees on the lower body was very helpful.
That day, we were lucky enough to encounter a pod of dolphins right after we set sail. With over 30 people on board, I, who am not a strong swimmer, was allowed to enter the water first. I had to swim quite hard to search for the dolphins swimming freely. However, the excitement when I finally saw them was extraordinary! They looked small in photos, but in reality, they swam right beneath us, making them appear much larger! I could even hear the dolphins' echolocation, and it felt like they were greeting us, which was a wonderful moment.
Thanks to the guide, who loudly pointed out their locations, everyone was able to see the dolphins after two tries.
After the dolphins, we moved to the snorkeling point. We saw about four sea turtles! The crew threw bread for feeding, which attracted a lot of yellow fish, making it a lot of fun.
We also had time to experience stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. The stand-up paddleboarding was difficult, but I ended up flipping over dramatically, and my husband and I had a great laugh about it.
Afterward, we enjoyed cheeseburgers and snacks, danced the hula together, and were very satisfied with the abundant activities!

This was my first time participating in a tour! First of all, the welcoming bus was adorable, decorated with the words "Dolphin University" and a cute dolphin illustration! The staff members were all very knowledgeable and fun to be around. Since it was my first time, I had various concerns, but they provided detailed explanations, which made me feel at ease.
I heard that since they are wild dolphins, there might be times when we wouldn't see any, which made me nervous... I really wanted to see at least one dolphin! I never expected to see wild dolphins so close! It was truly moving. There were several wild dolphins swimming right beneath me, and I was able to swim close to them multiple times. It was such a precious experience.
I was also surprised to encounter a sea turtle, which I hadn't anticipated, and that was even more touching! I was able to get very close to the sea turtle and even touch it. The lunch burgers and pineapples were delicious too. I did feel a bit seasick on the way back, but it was so much fun that I'm still reminiscing with my friends while looking at photos. Participating in this tour gave me a truly wonderful experience, and I would love to join again!
