This was my second time on a tour swimming with dolphins. The middle school program also has a university option, but this time I chose the middle school. The university boat is equipped with toilets, showers, and various activities, while the middle school uses a speedboat and focuses solely on snorkeling.

The middle school program has a smaller group, which made everything run smoothly and created a homey atmosphere that I really enjoyed. I was moved to see dolphins jumping from the boat. I originally wanted to go whale watching, but I heard that by April, most whales return to migration, so I chose to do a dolphin swim instead.

To my surprise, within just five minutes of departing the harbor, we spotted two whales breaching! They breached more than ten times, and the staff was just as excited as we were.

Instead of just searching for dolphins, they spent about 30 minutes chasing the whales, allowing everyone to see them, and we were able to capture great videos and photos.

After that, we successfully encountered dolphins, but it seemed there was a baby dolphin, and they were quite cautious, so we couldn't swim together.

The staff flexibly adjusted the program, making it a memorable activity for both my partner and me.

About 10 years ago, when I participated in a snorkeling tour in Hawaii, I was amazed to see many colorful fish up close under the guidance. But this time, the dolphins, turtles, and fish were all at a distance... It was disappointing because I couldn't distinguish their colors.

Points to note:
- Even with two long-sleeved rash guards, it was still cold...! It would be good to prepare long pants or consider a wetsuit.

- I read that I should bring just enough money to buy a little food, so I went empty-handed, but at the end, there was a tipping situation, which made it really awkward. Including the tip, it has definitely become much more expensive compared to 10 years ago…!

- For those who are prone to motion sickness, taking motion sickness medication is a must. There were kids sitting there looking unwell the whole time, and it was sad to see.

・上は長袖ラッシュガード2枚重ねても寒かったです…！下も長いものを用意するとか、ウェットスーツおすすめ。

・持ち物のお金は少し食べ物が買えるくらいと書いてあったので手ぶらで行ったら、最後チップを払う流れになったのですごく気まずかったです。
チップ含めると、10年前よりかなり高くなりましたよね…！

・酔いやすい人は酔い止め必須です。ずっと気分悪そうに座ってる子達がいて可哀想でした。

I participated with my 4 and 6-year-old children. I was worried they might not enjoy it since they are so young, but they seemed to have a great time seeing lots of dolphins and riding on a boat that we usually don't get to ride on! They were especially excited about the tattoo stickers they got at the end, which they had been looking forward to even before we went! They lasted for three days even after taking a bath, so it was a bit challenging to remove them (laughs).

As for snorkeling, it seemed difficult for them to breathe through the snorkel, so they quickly came back up from the water. I think I would like to try that again when they are older! They ended up going down the slide by themselves, and they had so much fun that they went down three times! (laughs) Also, they loved the lemonade they could drink on the boat, and since returning home, they've started drinking lemonade regularly!

The crew members were very kind, and we had a truly wonderful experience. Thank you!

I could see the fish clearly when they came close, but the ones farther away were blurry. Thanks to our guide Ken, I was able to enjoy myself without drowning. I also enjoyed a turkey sandwich and corn chips. Next time, I am thinking of trying snorkeling a little closer to the shore. The boat, the new Poseidon, had a warm shower and the view from the upper deck was fantastic.

It was amazing.
Having a Japanese guide made me feel at ease.
Most of the participants were foreigners, so you can really enjoy the local atmosphere since there aren't many Japanese people.
There were plenty of staff on the boat who provided solid support and had very high energy.
We saw both dolphins and whales, and we also spotted sea turtles.
The bus ride to the location takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. It was quite cramped, and the air conditioning didn't work at all, so I was sweating a lot.
The journey to and from was the only tough part.
Lunch is distributed at the end, so it might be good to bring some salty snacks.
There is water available on the boat, so that's fine.
After getting in the water, it gets chilly, so a light jacket is essential.

I thought it might be tough since we had to gather early in the morning, but it turned out to be a great experience. On the day, we encountered dolphins and whales, and we were able to enjoy the subsequent activities as well. The staff, including AYA who spoke Japanese and INGRID who was great at hula, were kind and fun, which made it even better.

Since it's an activity involving nature, whether you see the animals depends on luck, but I recommend giving it a try.

I booked a trip with Dolphin University, but I received a call the evening before saying that they couldn't secure my reservation because they were busy. They asked if I could change my pickup time from 5:30 PM to 11:00 AM. このようなツアーに慣れていない方や、突然の変更に慣れない方にはおすすめしません。
個人的にはイルカの背鰭が見学できて、シュノーケリングができて満足しましたが、イルカ大学だったらどうだったのか・・・と考えてしまいます。また、この内容（ボートの大きさやツアー規模）だとしたらダイビングでもなくこの値段はお高く感じました。（円安を考慮しても）

The guide was kind and took care of me as I was struggling due to my lack of stamina. I was also happy that the person I went with checked on me while I was resting and tired. It's a shame I didn't have the energy to enjoy the last snorkeling session, but I had a great time overall.

Shortly after departure, I encountered a Hawaiian monk seal. It popped its head up above the surface, and I was able to capture it perfectly on camera. The day before, I also encountered one while experiencing SUP at Ala Moana Beach, and according to our guide Hayato, it's very rare for short-term travelers to see wild Hawaiian monk seals two days in a row, so I was very lucky!

Next, we had our first snorkeling session in the shallow waters. I was able to capture the honu coming up for air and diving down to the seabed. This snorkeling in the shallow waters was a great warm-up.

While searching for dolphins to swim with, I saw some spinner dolphins splashing around from the boat.

Finally, the main event: snorkeling with dolphins. 10月25日、イルカ中学参加者が規定数に満たず、イルカ大学に編入しました。

最初船に乗る前、桟橋からすぐのところでホヌに遭遇。カメラをドライバッグに入れたままだったので撮影出来ずでした。

出航後すぐにハワイアンモンクシールに遭遇。
海面にひょっこり顔を出してくれてバッチリカメラに収録。
前日アラモアナビーチでSUP体験時にも遭遇しガイドのハヤトくんが言うには、2日連続で野生のハワイアンモンクシールに遭遇した短期旅行者は滅多にいないらしくてとてもラッキー！

次に浅瀬で最初のシュノーケリング。
ホヌが息継ぎし海底まで潜って行く様子を収録出来ました。
この浅瀬でのシュノーケリングは良い準備運動になりましたね。

次に一緒に泳ぐイルカを探す途中、船上からハシナガイルカがバシャバシャしている様子が見れました。

いよいよメインイベント、イルカと一緒にシュノーケリング。
たくさんのマダライルカに遭遇したらしいですが、天気が良すぎて光のカーテン多めで肉眼では確認することが出来ず。でも他の参加者は見れた模様なのでアクションカメラに収録出来ている事を信じて船に戻りました。
ホテルに帰って確認してところバッチリ収録出来てたので良かったー。

最後ハーバーまで戻る途中、たくさんのイルカが船と一緒に泳いでくれてホント楽しい体験ができました。

ガイドのハヤトくんがとても親切に対応してくれて感謝です。

Even after taking it, we still felt nauseous.
