This was a wonderful experience. The driver Larry is amiable and knowledgable who provided all the information needed for the trip and he gave detailed description about the areas along the road. Crews on the boat are professional and helpful. They did an excelent job in making it an enjoyable trip on the sea. Watching the golden sun vanishing into the ocean, eventhough we did not make encounter with the dolphinss, yet it was an unforgetable pleasant experience.

We had a great time as a family. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed it together with other guests. They sang Hawaiian songs, and we had a fun time with guest participation. This was my second time participating, and I really enjoyed it. The view of Diamond Head from the boat was exceptionally beautiful. If I had to mention something, I wonder if the quality of the buffet food could be improved. There were very few dishes that suited the Japanese palate, and I could hardly eat any of the food.

This time, I used the venue for a meal with family after the ceremony. My impression is that it was average. I read reviews that said it was really good, so I had high expectations, but honestly, it wasn't as great as I had hoped. However, it wasn't bad either. It was enjoyable as one activity. With over 100 people crowded together, it wasn't a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the sunset or have a meal; rather, it felt like dining amidst the noise of a theme park, especially with the entertainment of hula dancing.

My suggestion take this event as your grand finale of your vacation, probably on the last day of your trip. Thanks so much hawaiian activities, they added Hanauma Bay trip as a extra bonus at no cost( but you need to pay for the entrance fee)which you can not missed! My family and I had a wonderful time.

I participated with my mother in her 60s. The interior of the Star of Honolulu was smaller than I expected, and the distance between tables was quite close. A little while ago, at the end of 2011, I participated in an event where we could see fireworks from a boat.

We set sail around dusk, and there were about 20 people, I think? I had heard it was an English tour, but it was quite accommodating for Japanese speakers, so it wasn't a problem if you couldn't speak much.

The meal was served buffet-style. There were a decent variety of dishes, and I thought the food itself was tasty. I believe drinks were included for the first two.

The fireworks lasted about 15 minutes. If you imagine a Japanese fireworks festival, it might feel a bit lacking.

However, if you focus on the value of seeing fireworks from a boat, I don't think it's bad at all.

Personally, I felt my level of satisfaction was just okay.

Beautiful views from the boat, areas on boat need work

My grandmother and I chose this as something different to do from the sightseeing and beach time we had been enjoying. The transportation is great even for those of us that are familiar with the island, and well worth the additional cost. The seating area is packed and truly would be more enjoyable with fewer people crammed in. The food and service were far better than expected and the "All You Can Eat" crab truly lives up to the name. The boat from an external view is beautiful and makes a striking appearance out on the open ocean. On the decks there are areas that could be maintained better, especially the areas that food is served from and are in plain view of guests. The top deck is amazing for catching sight of the city line and would be a great place to spend a romantic evening with a significant other. Overall this is something that I am glad we experienced and would be willing to take others on.

We participated on the last night of our honeymoon. The place was fully booked, and we reserved a couple's seat as an option. The seats were close to each other, but it wasn't bothersome. We received welcome champagne and two drinks each. The food was average, but the steak was tender and delicious. We enjoyed the view of Waikiki Beach from the deck, and the sunset was beautiful. The scenery of the sunset from the boat was amazing. By chance, we also saw a swimming sea turtle. The show was lively, and in the end, everyone sang and danced, which was fun. I was happy to receive a commemorative photo at the end. If you go without transportation, I recommend boarding the boat at 4:45 PM. Since we boarded right away, we could listen to the boat's explanation slowly and choose our appetizers at a leisurely pace. This is a tour I recommended at a colleague's wedding. I thought it was a fun tour for a large group when I participated before, so I joined this time.

The shuttle bus from the hotel was very helpful as my child fell asleep, and they guided us to a sofa seat at the very end so we could lay the child down when we got on the boat. We were able to use two tables, which was a great help. However, since we were at the back, we couldn't see the stage at all, but I accepted that since we had a child with us. The dancers performed right next to our seats and even came over to take pictures with us, which showed great service.

The taste of the food wasn't particularly remarkable, but we enjoyed visually appealing dishes like a whole lobster and steak. The finale on stage was a blast, and we had a very enjoyable time. I think it's a good value tour.

In May, the departure was at 5:30 PM (sunset was just after 7:00 PM). We drove to Pier 8, where the Aloha Tower ticket office is located, and checked in around 4:30 PM. It was a trip for two, and thanks to arriving early, we were seated by the window. The charter buses for groups started to arrive around 5:00 PM, and many people boarded until just before departure, so I recommend early check-in for couples and families as the tables fill up on a first-come, first-served basis. It was a buffet style, but with unlimited roast beef and various dishes, I thought the cost performance was better than a course meal.

We participated as a family of four. My mother, who is in a wheelchair, was also accommodated. The five-star experience included a greeting from the captain, which gave us a bit of a celebrity feel. The atmosphere was somewhat moody, surrounded by honeymooners. I thought the food was at a very high level for this type of dinner cruise.

The cruise lasted about an hour and a half? Live jazz music and vocals started just before docking. I thought it would end once we docked, so I stopped ordering drinks. If I had understood the schedule better, I think I could have enjoyed more drinks.

I believe it would have been perfect if the cruise had been a bit longer and if there had been live jazz music throughout the cruise.

My wife, 11 month old daughter, and boarded the Star of Honolulu, on the One Star package. The night started with a Mai Tai, which was quite strong (coming as a surprise to me as in my experience, “welcome drinks” tend to be very watered down), and we were taken to our table with our appetizers ready and waiting for us. The food was fantastic! I’m going to be honest; I had low expectations for the food. All you can eat crab on a ship, generally does not mean “high quality” to me. And boy was I proven wrong. The crab especially was very tasty, and my wife and I definitely took advantage of the “all you can eat” description. The show was also very fun to watch, with examples of dances of different styles from around Polynesia. The service from our waiter, Chad, was excellent as well: my water was never empty, empty plates were taken as soon as I was finished, and the crab kept coming. I’ve already suggested the Star of Honolulu to family members for when they visit.

I participated in a dinner with all-you-can-eat steak and crab. We departed in the evening and were able to see the sun setting over the ocean. I wasn't expecting much from the food, but the crab was incredibly delicious. Whenever our plates were empty, they kept bringing more, and I ended up very full. Lastly, it was fun to dance with everyone at the venue!
