It was a sunset cruise dinner, so I was satisfied to see the sunset, but the food was definitely not delicious. It was just very ordinary. I was surprised that there were no scissors to crack and peel the crab, which might be because I'm Japanese. I think I probably won't go on this cruise again after this one.

We chose Pacific Star (buffet) to accommodate our family's diverse preferences and to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. I was a bit worried about my picky mother-in-law, but it seems there were things she could eat, which was good.

When it got dark, we encountered heavy rain and couldn't see the night view from the top deck. I'm glad we went up to the deck during sunset.

Smoking is only allowed on the deck.

It was mentioned that tips needed to be prepared separately, but since tipping is not a custom for us, I would have liked the tour details to specify that tipping was necessary and how much would be appropriate.

In the end, I wasn't sure when, at what timing, to whom, or how much to give, so I couldn't tip. I'm concerned that I may have committed a social faux pas.

The show featured the same performers changing costumes and instruments as they danced one after another. I was so close that it was hard to see at times. There were also several moments where guests could participate, which was nice.

It was a bit inconvenient that there wasn't a staff member who spoke Japanese in our room.

マナー違反をしてしまったようで気になっています。

ショーは次から次へ同じ人が衣装や楽器を変えて踊ってくださいました。
私は近すぎて見辛いくらいでした。
お客さんが参加する場面も何度かあり、よかったです。

日本語を話せるスタッフが私達のいる部屋には常駐してなくて少し困りました。

We set sail with a welcome drink while it was still bright outside. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and the buffet was delicious. There were also vegetables available. After we finished our meal, we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset, and afterwards, we enjoyed the night view of Waikiki. Hawaiian music was playing inside the boat, and everyone was having a great time together. I highly recommend it.

I made a reservation at the cheapest all-you-can-eat buffet. I wasn't expecting much after reading other reviews, but I was completely satisfied! The food was delicious, and even though it was on the lower floor, anyone could go up, so everyone was taking lots of pictures upstairs. Since we spent a long time taking photos, I didn't go back for more food. There were many Japanese people, and in the end, we all danced together on the same floor, which was a lot of fun!

Everything was amazing. First of all, I want to thank the staff. Their hospitality was abundant. I was truly impressed by the sunset view from the Honolulu. The lobster was incredibly delicious, and the filet steak was tender and also very tasty. I'm glad I chose this tour. The live Hawaiian and jazz music on board was wonderful. I came to Hawaii for my daughter's wedding, and I am recommending this tour to my family and my son-in-law's family as well. If I have the opportunity to come to Hawaii again, I definitely want to experience the 5-star tour next time.

The dinner was amazing, the filet was cooked perfectly and the crab legs kept on coming. We got a complimentary mai tai that was actually a very good drink (not that pre-mixed yucky stuff) and also ordered the $40 bottle of champagne. When dinner was finished, they put on a Polynesian show within the cabin that was loads of fun. Unfortunately the sunset was blocked by cloud cover but the show made up for it. The waitress was fantastic and the room supervisor was very attentive. Would definitely do this again! An additional note: they took the usual souvenir photo and charged $27 which we thought was way over the top...but it was framed beautifully (book-bound style) and ended up being the best photo of our entire honeymoon!! Worth every penny!

Since I decided to go to Hawaii with my friends' couple, I had already decided to participate in this tour. The staff's response was good, and the weather was nice, so the sunset from the boat was really beautiful. During the showtime, the staff serving the meals surprised us with their magnificent dance!!! It was very exciting.

Additionally, the optional night view tour after disembarking offered a great view of the night scenery in Waikiki, which was beautiful. I would love to go again if I have the chance.

I happened to be seated right in front of the stage, where I could enjoy the musicians' moody performances and the dancers' powerful hula dance. The words on stage were in English, but the show's structure was well thought out, allowing even Japanese guests to enjoy it without getting bored.

As for the food, the lobster was large, and at first, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, but it was delicious and came off the shell easily, so I ended up eating it all. The steak was also quite substantial, but it was lighter and more tender than it looked, making it very enjoyable. However, there was no initial explanation of the course, so I didn't realize I needed to go get the appetizers myself and ended up just waiting. It seemed that many people at other tables noticed this halfway through and went to get their food.

A waiter accidentally spilled drinks, which was surprising, but thankfully, everything turned out fine. Dinner while watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean was exceptional and became a memorable experience. If I have the opportunity, I would love to participate again.

太平洋に沈む夕日を眺めながらのディナーは格別で、思い出深いものになりました。機会が有ったら、また参加したいです。

This is my third time using this service. Every time I come to Hawaii, I make sure to use it on the last day. The hospitality on this dinner cruise is truly wonderful! The first time I went, I got seasick and had to rest in a chair on the upper deck, but the waiter brought me a cold drink, which was a huge help. This time, I took motion sickness medication, so I was able to enjoy it from the bottom of my heart. Also, the waiter was really funny, so I was laughing the whole time. I absolutely love the excitement of the showtime every time! I think the sense of unity on the boat is amazing. I had a great time again this time as well. Thank you very much!

If you're torn between 3 stars and 5 stars, I strongly recommend going for the 5 stars. Last time, I participated at 3 stars, so this time I chose 5 stars, and the difference in service is remarkable, as you would expect. You'll likely find the satisfaction level exceeds the price difference.

Regarding the dress code, I went with a dress shirt and slacks, which felt a bit casual, but I noticed many Americans were in suits and dresses, so even a more formal dress code wouldn't feel out of place; in fact, I think it's ideal.

Each table has a dedicated waitress, but since the payment was already made, it seemed that the Japanese participants didn't prepare tips for the waitresses. I think it's a good idea to leave a small gratuity (around $10 per person) discreetly as a token of appreciation when you leave.

We participated as a couple in our 30s. The view of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, and the sunset from the boat was incredibly beautiful. The meal was average, nothing special. However, the final cake was not too sweet and delicious.

The waiter was quite entertaining, which made it fun. When everyone gathered in a circle to dance at the end, that waiter took the lead and showcased a wonderful dance, which was enjoyable to watch.

The hula dance was very graceful. The male dancer was sweating profusely while performing, and it was very powerful. I was lucky to have participated without knowing there would be a show. When I made a request to the pianist who was playing live, he played my favorite song, which became a great memory.

However, the seating was cramped, and I was concerned about the close distance to the person next to me.

Since we had a toddler with us, we chose the buffet. I didn't have high expectations for the food, so I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. This class is often not handled by travel agencies, so there are definitely fewer guests compared to other classes. However, there is one male and one female dancer, and there are live performances and hula lessons, so you can enjoy it without any issues! They even sang some Southern songs. Of course, at the end, everyone got really excited!!

I did request photos as an option when booking the tour, but the photos were taken at our seats before departure, so the background was "Hooters." (I wish it had at least been the ocean...) I was disappointed because I thought we would be able to take pictures with the dancers.

My girlfriend and I went on a Star of Honolulu dinner cruise one Friday and we had a blast!
We arrived early and had some drinks before boarding the ship and were greeted with a performance of beautiful Hawaiian dancers. They kept dancing all the time while people were boarding, it was so pretty.
On board everybody was very friendly and welcoming, it felt great. They had to manage a lot of people getting on the ship but the staff seemed relaxed and genuinely happy that we were on board. Our server was particularly sweet, she worked so hard all evening. Although she was incredibly busy she even took the time to chat with us (we both share the same name and were joking around about it). The welcome drink was great (Mai Tai)! And dinner as well. It was so much to eat I was totally stuffed at the end. Steak, veggies, mashed potatoes, and crab legs as much as we could eat (warning: you will think you can eat more but it's already so much you cannot!). All finished off with yummy ice cream desert and coffee. The welcome drink was included, additional drinks had to be paid for but the prices were absolutely reasonable for the type of cruise! The route was beautiful and took us out towards Diamond Head. Even though there were a lot of people on board there is enough room to walk around and get a good spot to watch the sunset or take pictures. Later they started an evening show with lots of different costumes which was fun! We sat very close to the performance and they were again beautiful to watch. After the show they even encouraged everybody to stand up and dance! That was so much fun. Some people were shy but the crew had so much energy themselves they danced and danced and got many people up. Time just flew by! It was so beautiful to see the island and Waikiki/Honolulu from the distance, the lights, night setting in. Definitely recommended as a special trip for your vacation or a very romantic special date with your loved one :)

Unforgettable Evening on my Birthday!

It was an enjoyable, memorable, unforgettable, and breathtaking Dinner Cruise celebrating my 60th birthday on August 31, 2014 with "Three Star Classic Steak & Lobster Dinner" all the way from Toronto, Canada. Me and 13 guests were very pleased from Customer Service (very friendly staff), food and beverages, and atmosphere. I will surely strongly recommend to all Canadians and non-Canadians. The greatest thing... I felt I was the "STAR" of Honolulu Dinner Cruise guest at the time, as I got lots of attention from STAFF and GUESTS greeting me "Happy birthday." In addition, one of the Polynesian dancers, Emmy C. my cousin daughter watching her dancing, added my day celebrating another Milestone. I've been to Hawaii many times, but for some reason, I had never been on the Star of Honolulu. This summer, I went to Hawaii with my elementary and preschool children, so it was a great opportunity to board the ship. The result was a big success! The night view of Honolulu from the ship and the ukulele show, among other attractions, were fantastic. It seems my preschooler also enjoyed it. If you haven't boarded yet, I definitely recommend giving it a try! It looks like I'll be boarding again on my next trip to Hawaii. Highly recommended!

The food, the performances, and the show were all wonderful. The staff was amazing, and the music brought back nostalgic memories. Since my parents had previously participated in the buffet-style option, this time we decided to upgrade and enjoy lobster and steak. The ship was very crowded, so the first drinks took a while to arrive, and we missed the toast, but after that, the service was smooth, which was great. Above all, the staff were moving around with smiles, and I was really impressed by their effort.

All the food was delicious, and we finished everything along with our drinks.

From start to finish, there was live singing, creating an amazing and pleasant atmosphere. (We can overlook the service sounds for this occasion.) When the show started, dancers also came down the aisles in addition to the central stage, which added to the excitement. They performed hula and Polynesian dances, and it was great to enjoy well-known songs that everyone recognizes across generations and countries (like The Carpenters and the Hawaiian version of "Tears of Joy"). In the end, the staff and guests all mixed together for a big celebration. If anyone doesn't want to participate in the chaos, they can retreat to the deck, so that's fine.

It was the last night of our stay in Hawaii, and we had a wonderful time. By the way, if everything goes as planned, we should arrive at the hotel before 9 PM, so we can go out for a short time from there. Even on the last day, there's enough time to pack our bags (laughs).

以前に両親がビュッフェスタイルの方に参加していたので、今回は1ランクあげてロブスターとステーキを楽しもうということになりました。
船内がとても混んでいたので、最初のドリンクが出てくるのが遅く、乾杯に間に合わなかったのですがそれからは順調にサービスしてもらえて良かったです。なによりスタッフの方が笑顔で動き回っているので、頑張ってる感がすごくて関心しました。
料理はどれも美味しくお酒とともに完食でした。

最初から最後までずっと生歌なのでとても雰囲気抜群で心地良いですよ。（サービスの音はこの際仕方ないので聞かなかったことにして）
ショーが始まると中央のステージ以外に通路にもダンサーさんが来るので迫力満点です。
フラやポリネシアンダンスを披露し、あとは世代や国を超えてみんなが知っているナンバーで楽しめるのは盛り上がるし良かったと思います。（カーペンターズや涙そうそうハワイVer.）
最後にはサービスしていたスタッフさんやお客さんも入り乱れての大騒ぎとなっていました。
この大騒ぎに参加したくない人はデッキの方に避難することもできるので大丈夫です。

ハワイ滞在最後の夜でしたが、とても楽しく過ごすことができました。
ちなみに予定通りに進めばホテル到着は21時前なので、そこから短時間ですが出かけることもできます。
最終日にしても荷物をまとめる余裕があります(笑)

Was everything that we expected and much more. Good food, great entertainment and a lot of fun. My husband and I went on this fabulous cruise not only for dinner and entertainment but for the beautiful sunset that occurs off the shores of Oahu. Would highly recommend this for everyone...couples, families, and singles!

I was torn between the buffet and the course, but I chose the buffet, and it was even better than I expected. I thought the buffet was more than enough. The table service was cheerful and pleasant, and the show was quite good! The sunset moment was truly wonderful. I had a great time!

As you check in and arrive to the pier, you will be entertained with a Hula performance. You will then be directed with a pleasantly helpful staff to seat you with your tossed salad ready to be consumed. Also you will then receive a welcome Mai Tai which is very addicting and may cause you to purchase more. I had 4 of them. The all you can eat crab legs, steak, and macadamia nut ice cream was amazing. As the sun started to set, I found myself in a very relaxing area of the top deck. I was taking in the views of the ocean, land, and skies as I was just about ready to call it a night. Until we just about to reach the dock, all their employees started a party and danced like crazy. My date is not much of a dancer, but she enjoyed watching me entertain everyone. This night was a night to remember especially the service provided the staff on board. They will make sure you are always satisfied.

On the last day, I participated to wrap up my trip. The sunset while looking over the city of Honolulu from the deck was amazing. I had a French course meal, but the seating was cramped and felt packed, which was a downside.
