We used this for our honeymoon. My husband wanted to end our trip to Hawaii with a dinner cruise, so we searched and found this one and made a reservation.

We departed for the port by bus. Since it was summer vacation, there were a lot of people.

Upon arrival at the ship, we were welcomed with ukulele music and hula dancing.

Once on board, it seemed that the floors were divided by star rating, with the 5-star guests on the top floor. When we arrived, we had our photo taken and were shown to our seats. 5スターは人が少なかったので、いい場所でゆっくりすることができ、とてもよかったと思います。

I went on my first cruise with my daughters, who are 4 and 6 years old. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so we couldn't see the sunset, but since it was Friday, we were able to see the fireworks from Hilton, which was really nice. I participated in the Three Star cruise. Since it was a honeymoon, I opted for a window seat and a welcome cake. In conclusion, I think the cake was unnecessary. Additionally, we received two drink tickets per person, so we couldn't finish the champagne that came with it. Coffee was also served after the meal (we ended up leaving three tickets unused... what a waste!).

When we were shown to our seats, we were told there were snacks available for us to take freely (crackers, cheese, and a variety of fruits). We had about 20 minutes before departure, so we enjoyed those, and it was rare to find blue cheese available. The taste was average.

The appetizer salad was beautifully arranged on a large plate. The vegetables were quite large, so I used a knife to eat them. Next, a whole lobster was served. The tail was split down the middle, making it easy to crack, but the small legs and fins were tricky to get the meat out. It was also difficult to separate the tail from the body. I had to twist it off with my hands. The waiter kindly asked, "Shall I crack it for you?" so I took him up on that offer. The lobster came with butter sauce and ponzu, along with a slice of lemon. I recommend the ponzu and lemon.

After the lobster, we had steak, which was very delicious. It was cooked to a rare to medium-rare level. The sauce was also tasty, although the mashed potatoes on the side were a bit bland.

Finally, a mango cake about 6 centimeters in diameter was served. The cake also had an average taste.

Now, regarding the sunset, you need to time it yourself, as no one will inform you. Although it was a course meal, you could leave your seat at any time. It seemed that dishes were not placed automatically (drinks were separate). You can go up to the deck on the fourth floor from the stairs at the back of the boat. The area for the Five Star guests was separated, but I think there was enough space. We could also go up to the fifth floor, which was like an observation area. It seemed that many of the Three Star guests were Japanese, likely honeymooners or those on commemorative trips. Overall, the seating was a bit cramped. 前菜のサラダは大きなお皿に野菜が綺麗に広げられています。野菜1枚が大きいのでナイフを使用していただきました。
続いてロブスターが一匹丸ごと出てきます。尻尾の部分は縦に真っ二つになっているので簡単に割れますが、尻尾についている小さな足やひれの身が引っかかって中々身が外れません。また尻尾を胴体から切り離すのも難しいです。思い切って手でねじ切りました。ハサミの部分はウエイターさんが「割りましょうか？」と聞いてきてくれましたので甘えました。ロブスターにはバターソースとポン酢が付いてくるほかにレモンも一切れ付いてきます。ポン酢やレモンがおすすめです。
ロブスターの次はステーキです。これはとても美味しかったです。レア〜ミディアムレアくらいの焼き加減でした。ソースも美味しかったです。付け合わせのマッシュポテトは味気なかったですが。。。
最後に直径6センチくらいのマンゴーケーキが出てきます。ケーキも普通の味でした。
さて肝心のサンセットですが、タイミングを自分で見計らっていかないと誰も教えてくれません。コース料理ですが、どのタイミングで席を外しても大丈夫です。料理が勝手に置かれているようなこともないようでした。(ドリンクは別)船尾の階段から4階のデッキに上がれます。5スターの方々とはエリアが仕切られていますが、十分な広さが確保されていると思います。また5階というか展望スペースのような場所にも上ることができました。そこから眺めたサンセットはとても綺麗でした。
3スターは日本人が多いように思います。ハネムーナーや記念旅行の方々のようでした。
席は全体的に狭いです。また参加者の服装は皆さん小綺麗な格好をしていますが、ハーフパンツにスニーカーの方もいます。あまり気にしなくてもいいと感じました。一般的なカジュアルで大丈夫ではないでしょうか。

In the evening, we took a bus close to the hotel. After about ten minutes heading west, we arrived at the port, near the waters of Honolulu. There were male and female hula dancers at the entrance.

I participated with high expectations for the Star of Honolulu, but overall, it was quite disappointing.

First, regarding the five-star cuisine, aside from the main lobster and meat, the rest was not very tasty. Additionally, the timing of the food service varied greatly depending on the table, and the order of the dishes was inconsistent.

The ship itself was very old, and the restrooms were not clean. Inside the ship, the air conditioning was too strong, making it extremely cold. I asked the staff to turn it off once, but before long, it was back on again. Not just me, but everyone around was saying it was cold. While there wasn't much rocking during the cruise, when we stopped offshore for about three hours, the waves caused significant swaying, and many Japanese guests felt nauseous. One person ended up vomiting towards the sea from the third deck after being in the restroom for a long time (there were few restrooms, so others couldn't use them during that time). The staff's response also did not seem very good.

The only positive was that I boarded on a Friday, so I was able to see the Hilton fireworks from the sea. It was only for five minutes, but it was very beautiful.

唯一よかったのは、乗船を金曜日にしたのでヒルトンの花火を海上から見れたことです。5分間だけですが、とてもキレイでした。
総合的に考えても、もう利用しないと思います。

I went on a 5 Stars Cruise. I took a photo with the captain and took my seat. Initially, I was at a table near the center of the floor, but since a window-side table was available, the staff kindly moved me to the window side.
The meal was a French cuisine course and it was very delicious. It wasn't the typical American heavy flavor, but rather a delicate taste that I think suits the Japanese palate very well.
The drinks were also very tasty and stylish.
There was a dress code, and I wore an aloha shirt and muumuu that I bought locally, but everyone was dressed beautifully. There were more Westerners than Asians.
Dressing as one would for a wedding in Japan would definitely be appropriate.
I was very unsure whether to tip or not (since I had already paid with a credit card in advance, there was no payment on the day...). However, since they treated me very well, I gave a $40 tip, but I'm not sure how that was received.
If there had been information about tipping when I made the reservation, I think I could have enjoyed the cruise even more (whether it's necessary or not, how much to tip, when to tip, etc.).

日本人で結婚式に出席するときくらいのドレスで行くと、間違いなしですね。
チップは払うのか払わないのか非常に迷いました。(お金はクレジットで事前に払っているので当日は支払いはないので…)。
ただ、非常によくしていただいたので、40ドルをチップと
して渡したのですが、これがどうだったのか分かりません。
予約の時にチップについての記載があれば、よりクルーズを楽しめたかなと思います(必要なのか不要なのか、いくらくらい払うのか、いつ払うのかなど)

We boarded the ship on the night before the last day of our trip with my wife. We booked a window seat along with the Tantalus package. We boarded in the evening on the day we arrived in Hawaii. The relaxing cruise helped ease our travel fatigue. The food was decent, but the cruise staff was amazing!! There was a cheerful man with a ukulele, and the handsome men and beautiful women Hawaiian dancers really worked hard to entertain us. The venue was lively and fun, even as it approached disembarkation time.
