This was our second trip on the Star of Honolulu, the first being 9 years ago. I paid more this time for an upgraded meal. The meal was good, but I think we would have been happier with just the buffet. The upgrade wasn’t really worth the price we paid. The entertainment was good and the views were spectacular! If we come to Hawai’i again, I think we’ll just get the lowest price meal and still do the cruise.

This was my third time participating. My previous experiences were rated 3 stars. My faint memory was of a relaxed atmosphere, but the buffet had a huge number of guests. There were few Japanese people. Although it was a buffet, there was only one place to get food, and I wondered how that would work. However, we were guided in order. I was worried that the first people would eat everything, but there was enough for us who went last. In fact, just going once filled me up. I was looking around to see if we could get seconds, and it seemed that after the first round, refills were allowed. I remember the 3-star experience having a relaxed musical atmosphere, but the buffet area was lively. It's on the lowest floor, but you can see beautiful sunsets and sunrises, so no issues there. This concludes my record of a buffet experience that doesn't have many reviews. If you're someone who can't wait, gathering on-site will get you guided faster.

3スターは音楽もゆったりした記憶がありますが、ビュッフェのところは賑やかでした。
一番下のフロアですが、夕焼けとか日の入りも綺麗に見えます、問題なしです。

It's wise to arrange for the bus transfer in advance. Compared to a taxi, the fare is cheaper and the departure and arrival times are accurate. Although it was packed with hundreds of participants, I hardly saw anyone who looked Japanese. I think the balance between the cost and the content is good.

The round-trip was by bus, and even at the Sheraton Hotel's pickup point, there were quite a number of people lined up for check-in, with three large buses available. Upon arriving at the port, several similar buses also arrived. The ship had floors from 1 to 4, and on the 3rd floor, tables for two by the window were prepared. The dinner cruise started with champagne. The appetizers were to be picked up from a table in the hallway, and included cheese, crackers, watermelon, and grapes, which we brought back to our seats. Each table had a dedicated staff member who provided very pleasant service. The 3rd floor was nearly full, and it seemed quite challenging just to serve the food. The view of Honolulu from the sea was beautiful, and during the meal, I went to the 4th floor deck to take photos. The 4th floor deck was reserved, and the front area was completely off-limits. Initially, we could access the 4th floor deck, but it quickly became fully booked and we could no longer enter. I think it's best to go up to the 4th floor deck early. The scenery, including the buildings of downtown Honolulu, Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, and the sunset, was truly beautiful. I booked the Friday cruise specifically to see the Hilton fireworks, which were quite spectacular, and since the ship stopped right in front, we could enjoy them leisurely. When disembarking, we lined up according to our designated bus numbers and were taken directly to the bus, so it's best to use the restroom on the ship beforehand. 往復ともバスの送迎でしたが、シェラトンホテルの乗り場だけでも相当の人が列をなしてチェックインをしていてバスは大型バスが3台。港につくと同様のバスが何台も到着していました。船のフロアは1階〜4階まであり、3階のフロアでテーブルは窓側二人用の席が用意されていました。ディナークルーズのスタートはシャンパンから。前菜は廊下にあるテーブルに取りに行き、チーズにクラッカー、スイカやぶどうなどを席まで持ってくるスタイル。各テーブルは担当スタッフがつき、とても気持ち良い対応をしていました。3階フロアはほぼ満席で料理を配膳するだけでも大変に見えました。料理はサラダ、ロブスター、ステーキと来てデザートはケーキで終了しました。シャンパン以外に1人2枚のドリンク券がついていて好きなドリンクが無料で頼めました。海上から見るホノルルはとても綺麗で食事中も4階のデッキに行って写真を取りました。4階デッキの客室は貸し切りでデッキも前方ははなから貸切で入れませんでした。最初は入れた4階デッキも直ぐに貸し切り状態となり入れなくなりました。4階デッキは早めに昇っておくのが良いと思います。風景はホノルル市街のビル、ワイキキビーチ、ダイヤモンドヘッド、夕日の沈む光景など本当に綺麗でした。今回ヒルトンの花火を見たいということもあり金曜日のクルーズを予約しましたが、ヒルトンの花火もなかなか大掛かりなもので、船も真ん前に停止しているのでゆったりと見物できました。船を降りるときには指定されたバスの番号ごとに並んで降りますが、そのままバスに連れて行かれますのでトイレは船内で済ませておくのが良いと思います。シェラトンホテル行きのバスは途中プリンス、ヒルトンビレッジと立ち寄ってから帰りましたので少し時間がかかりました。バスの運転手もエンタティナーでした。もちろん船内で花火の後に行われたサモアのダンスや乗船客全員で踊るYMCAなどもホント楽しめました。是非お勧めしたいオプションです。
