We attended this cruise on 2017/12/24 Christmas eve and it was a wonderful evening from start to finish.The star of Honolulu is an amazing evening from the coach "Royal Star" transferring us from the hotel to the ship and back with great care. Upon arrival, the 5 star guests were ushered to the boat and boarding was separate from others. A photo, drink and canapes were offered on the top deck. We were then shown our seats - private 2 person table along the window - and drinks were served. The menu was a 7 course meal with the Beef with Foie Gras being the highlight of the dinner! Tender and melts in your mouth. Overall the dinner is a 9/10. Wait service was amazing, very helpful, explained all courses and never stopped smiling. Drinks were well made and presented nicely.
The cruise it self takes you along Waikiki beach with some great views of Diamond Head and all of Waikiki. The ambiance the sunset creates is great for all couples and a very romantic backdrop to take photos and video.
Live entertainment was a nice touch, with a Jazz show. The singer had an amazing voice along with the pianist and sax player.
This is truly an amazing dinner evening with your spouse or partner.

My only disappointment with this cruise is the actual time to spend on the deck enjoying the ocean breeze. Dinner is served shortly after leaving the dock which having a course dinner is hard to get up and leave between each course. We did manage after the salad to leave for a few minutes. The waiter kindly waited to serve us the 4th course when we got back.

Overall this cruise is an amazing romantic and wonderful cruise for couples celebrating. Make sure to pay attention during dinner to get great photos of Waikiki, Diamond Head and sunsets.

The show was impressive with the dancers performing right in front of us. Since it was Friday, I thought it was a bit long to be delayed by about an hour to see the fireworks, but the fireworks were nice as well. However, I regret not giving a tip to the waiter who took care of our seats. I used the service on the day of arrival and thought the payment was already settled at the time of booking, so I let my guard down. I would appreciate it if you could include a note about how much to tip, if possible.

I participated in the final night of my honeymoon this time. A bus picked us up from the hotel and took us to the boarding area. Once on the ship, we were guided to the top floor by elevator, where we first took a commemorative photo with the captain. This photo was available for purchase later for about 3,000 yen. We were seated by the window and started with some champagne. After that, we could order our favorite drinks using three drink tickets per person. When I was unsure about the cocktails just by their names, a staff member kindly approached me and provided various recommendations. I had some waiting time before departure, so I was able to relax and take photos. There was a diverse crowd, including people from Europe and Asia. We were the only Japanese people there. I didn't fully understand the explanations in English, but I managed to grasp the gist of it!

The attire ranged from luxurious outfits to people in shorts and sandals, so there didn't seem to be a dress code. I tend to get seasick, so I didn't eat anything, and it was quite cold at the end of November, but I stayed outside the whole time. When my companion tried to get a refill, the meat was gone, but it seemed there were still plenty of potatoes left. The cookies they distributed were delicious.

The staff were kind, taking photos for us and being very attentive. It was disappointing that we couldn't see the orange sunset >_<. However, I was happy to see a small dolphin! I was quite satisfied with the views of Diamond Head and the hotel nightscape. I recommend this tour for active individuals.

ダイヤモンドヘッドとかホテルの夜景を見れて かなり満足です。アクティブな方にオススメのツアーです。

You will be picked up at the Marriott and transported to the dock by a large bus. We walked fairly quickly through the Aloha Tower and boarded the ship. After receiving a welcome drink, we enjoyed a buffet dinner while listening to live guitar music. The buffet food was decent. The ship is reasonably large, but it can sway quite a bit depending on the weather. My wife seemed to have a hard time with seasickness. I recommend that those who are prone to motion sickness take some medication.

You have free time until the fireworks, and it's nice to enjoy Hawaiian dance or the sunset. The main fireworks show ends in no time, but it was incredibly exciting. The kids were very happy! We were able to have a pleasant time chatting lightly with other passengers. Since it was the rainy season, there was a bit of rain, but it wasn't bothersome, so perhaps we were lucky with the weather.

I have been to Hawaii several times and have experienced dinner cruises (with another company) before. I didn't have high expectations, but choosing the steak and lobster course was the right decision. The food exceeded my expectations, and the show was engaging and kept the guests entertained. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the sunset due to the weather, but since it was Friday, we got to see fireworks, which was fun. I definitely recommend this tour for those visiting Hawaii for the first time!

My husband and I attended the Star of Honolulu Sunset Dinner cruise on 12/06/17. When we had First checked in we were greeted by a nice lady and apologized and told my husband he was not wearing the proper attire for the night. He was wearing khakis and flip flops. The nice thing is they were accommodating going so far as letting borrow shoes and pants for the night. I was so happy cuz we had limited time and wouldn’t be able to reschedule. And it was my fault at not looking for a dress code when I booked it. Once we got on the boat we were greeted by the captain! He was super nice and well dressed (everybody was). The dancers, entertainment and food was AMAZING! Not to mention the excellent customer service they made sure they took care of all our needs. We will definitely do this again whenever we come back! Must do!!!

This was my fifth trip to Hawaii, and I finally went on the sunset cruise I had been longing for! Upon boarding, we were guided to the deck, where we first took a commemorative photo with the captain and enjoyed a welcome drink. The rich welcome really lifted my spirits, but I was disappointed that I couldn't take a photo with the captain using my own phone.

Once on board, we enjoyed a full-course meal and drinks. Inside the ship, we could savor our meal while listening to live piano and jazz performances, creating a luxurious atmosphere. Couples, including those on their honeymoon, enjoyed lovely moments together with the music in the background! The meals were served at each table's pace, allowing us to step out onto the deck at our leisure to enjoy the sunset and night views while cruising. Seeing the night view of Waikiki from the sea was a first-time experience for me, and the scenery was exceptional. I highly recommend it!

I think everyone feels the same way, but before leaving for Japan, I imagined "blue seas and skies" and planned fun optional tours. However, Hawaii isn't always sunny! Especially for ocean activities, the weather can lead to either amazing memories or disappointing results.

The sunset dinner cruise I booked this time had bad weather, with cloudy skies throughout, so I didn't have high expectations... but the result was very good! The gently rocking boat, combined with the friendliness of the crew, created a very pleasant atmosphere.

Seeing the lights of the hotels in Waikiki from the sea and a pod of dolphins swimming alongside the boat was wonderful. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the sunset, but it became a great memory that you can't experience on land. I would love to participate again next time, on a sunny day!

This time, I participated in an upgraded plan for my 60th retirement anniversary trip, which was different from my usual experiences. Since it was my birthday, a cake was prepared at our table, and my wife and I were both deeply moved. The delightful staff's thoughtfulness, along with their American jokes and the showtime, was fantastic and left a lasting impression. It truly was a wonderful anniversary. The food was a buffet, so I could eat whatever I liked (´∀｀=). The performances that involved both the staff and guests, along with their attentiveness, were excellent!!! It was also amazing to see so many hula dances♪ Aside from not being able to see the sunset due to the weather, everything was really great!!!

However, it was a bit disappointing that a Japanese company next door was having a private party for their anniversary, and we could hear karaoke of Japanese songs during our quiet dinner... My husband and I took the Star of Honolulu Dinner Jazz Cruise on 10/22/2017. This was one of the best meals I have ever had. You are treated as royalty as soon as you check in. On check in, we found out that this level of dinning (there are 3 levels) requires men to wear long pants. This was booked as a surprise gift for my husband and I totally forgot to have him pack pants. The staff was great and got my husband a pair of slacks that they keep on hand. We were escorted from the check in to the boat and then by another attendant to the ship were we took photos with the Captain. Then the luxury begins. We have complementary welcome about cocktails and 3 amazing appetizers. Our waiter Forrest escorted us to our table. The meal is 7 courses, but each is small so you are able to finish. Each dish was amazing. At desert you are offered a coffee and can include an addition of coffee liquor. They have premium spirits aboard and you get two free drink tickets in your package. There a constant flux in hula shows and then a jazz show. They were very good. I highly recommend the rainbow colored martini, yummy. The staff all went an extra mile to make this the best experience ever.
