Good food and good entertainment

The food came out in good timing intervals. Good food. Drinks were okay. I ended up switching to wine as the mixed drinks were not my favorite. I enjoyed the entertainment. Even with a Dramamine I was still a bit nauseous until we got out of the harbor but once on the ocean everything was fine. Beautiful sunset and great view of Waikiki.

Hilton Port Waikiki Sunset Cruise with Cocktails & Appetizers - Spirit of Aloha
Relaxed sunset sail!

I had a blast on this sunset sail. It was the perfect "pau hana" (happy hour, end of work day)!
For drinks, they had cocktails, beer, wine, & non-alcoholic drinks. I really liked the appetizers (chicken, rice, and veggies). It was just the right amount of food to go with the Mai Tais that I had!
This is a docked catamaran. Unlike beach catamarans, you will not have to walk knee-deep in the water to board the boat. You'll be perfectly dry as you board the boat on the pier (as seen in the photo). This makes it a great choice for those who want to dress up a bit for the sunset sail, those traveling with little ones, guests with mobility issues, etc.
I loved that this was conveniently located in WAIKIKI! It's right at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (not to be confused with the Hilton Waikiki - which is a different hotel).

We really enjoyed our time on the Moana catamaran sunset sail. The crew was very helpful and friendly and the catamaran was in good condition. We had a great view of Waikiki. Read carefully though - dinner is not included as part of the sail even though it’s called a sunset dinner sail with BYOB!

From boarding to dinner, to the gorgeous evenings, riding the “wave” back in to the dock - it was absolutely excellent, Food arrive timely and hot, It tasted very good and the meat was so tender you cut with a fork not a knife. I would do this again when I return, The value was definitely there.

Trip was great! The crew was very friendly and answered our random questions. I loved getting to sail for the majority of the time that we were on the water, and getting a view of Waikiki & Diamond Head from the water! We had a great view of sunset as well, and planes taking off from HNL. It was BYOB, but they also had drinks for sale on the boat ($5/drink or $20 bottomless). The boat had a decent number of passengers, but I don’t think it was sold out, so it didn’t feel too crowded. The attached photo is of the boat before we boarded and left the marina.

This sunset cruise was nearly perfect! My family and I were able to book our experience in the same week we took the cruise, I felt it was priced quite fairly and the process was very easy. The website's description was very helpful and I appreciated having the option to purchase dinner if I so wanted to. I did not buy the dinner package but the other guests who did seemed quite happy with their meals, though there weren't tables to place your food on. If you do choose to get the dinner, eat it before you get out to the open waters as you and your food can get pretty wet from ocean spray depending on where you sit. If you don't want to get wet there's plenty of seats that stay dry, though the catamaran can fill with many guests so arrive early if you want the best seating options. Overall, my family and I loved our experience, my mother was a bit worried as the crew didn't discuss emergency protocol but I never felt like this was a concern. The 90 minute trip had excellent views, wasn't too rocky, and I liked being able to bring my own drinks or purchasing drinks from the crew. I would highly recommend this activity to couples, families with older children, or friend groups. If I ever return to Oahu I would thoroughly like to do this again!

It was just okay, but the waitresses on the vessel made up for it.

The service provided on the dinner cruise by the servers was excellent. They were friendly and nice, always with a smile! I expected more interaction by the captain. He didn't introduce himself to the people on board or had anything to say to us. This dinner cruise was a disappointment, but we tried to make the best of it. The dinner was good, but two of my family members got sea sick because the waters were choppy and the vessel was rocking back and forth pretty bad. At least a photographer took a nice picture of us that we purchased! Thank God I took motion sickness medication before I boarded the vessel.

There were 10 of us that had the opportunity to enjoy a fancy dinner on the waters off of Ohau. The age range of our party were from 2-72.
From the time we arrived and checked in we were treated courteously and made to feel welcomed! The music and dancing while we waited made the experience more exciting for my nephews (2,4, & 8 years old) and for my Brother and wife who have never been to Hawaii before. Once onboard we were greeted by the captain of the boat which thrilled them silly and kept my sister in law busy trying to get them to their seats.
We had the best waitress for our table! we always had something to drink and when we were undecided she was able to suggest drinks for the adults and kids. When the boys were unsure with dinner, our waitress brought more cheese and fruit. We never had to look for her she just knew and was always available.
We all enjoyed the dancing and even were invited to join in. My nephews danced their hearts out, along with my mom (the 72 year old) and my sister. The views from the top deck were specular and we got some great family pictures.
Defiantly an event we will remember!
Thank you to the staff aboard the Star of Honolulu! you were fantastic!

We super enjoyed the 5-course dinner, the overflowing cocktails, the champagne and most of all the live music and cultural dances. The food we were served was amazing. I expected it to be decent, but not 5 star restaurant quality considering it had to be made in bulk and served on a boat. It was delicious!
My family sat downstairs because the top got filled up quickly and we would have had to sit separately. If you want to sit in the open air, I suggest being in line to board a little early.
I would definitely do this again.

I loved the crew and the whole vibe the Cruise offered!! We had beautiful music playing and the sunset was gorgeous! If you’re looking for one of the best evenings you’ll have in Oahu, book this cruise without any reservations. It was easy to find. There’s a direct bus that goes from the Waikiki area and lands you on the basin where you’ll find your catamaran docked! Do it!
