It's a buffet, but the show is quite fulfilling, so I was so engrossed in enjoying it that I forgot to go get food. For those thinking of saving a lot due to the weak yen, there is plenty of food available, so I think you'll be satisfied even if you go there really hungry! I'll include a photo of the meeting place. On the way back, it stops at various hotels from the west end of Waikiki, so you won't have to walk much. You can get off wherever you like.

I had a Mai Tai and was satisfied as it had fruit pieces in it.

Enjoyed the cruise and seeing Waikīkī from the sea
The buffet dinner was quite nice
The show was okay but not great.
It wasn’t really a show. It was dancers spread over the one deck. The dancers themselves were good but wasn’t a show. The waiters had to dance but most were not great. Armondo was good.
The lady singing was terrible.
The waiters service was good.
The Mai Tai’s were good.
Everyone was friendly.
If I did cruise again would do the deck 3 menu and show.

I made a reservation at the end of my trip. Although they didn't speak Japanese at the reception, once I got inside, there was someone who could speak Japanese. The menu also had Japanese options, so I think it would be fine for those who aren't very good at English. It was a buffet, but everything was flavorful and satisfying, so I was happy with just one serving. I was also glad to be able to eat plenty of vegetables. It was great to take photos with the diamond and sunset in the background. The waves were higher than in Japan, and even though it was a cruise, there were times when the boat swayed a bit, so those who are prone to seasickness should definitely take motion sickness medication.

Everything was great except for our food. We searched hard for sunset cruises that included a vegetarian option, and this was one of the few. The menu was said to have a vegetarian pasta, but we were actually served stir fry and rice. It was fine but definitely not what we were expecting. The best birthday present my husband has ever received we would happily do this cruise again and have highly recommended it to all of our friends and family who are still in Hawaii for our Sons wedding.
The experience was fantastic the staff were fantastic at their job. The show was an absolute awesome experience
The food was delicious, my husband was very shocked at the variety and was enjoying it that much he wanted more. Only downside was feeling overly cramped in small seating space, besides that if we ever get back to Hawaii we would book this every day.

The designated seat was by the window, but it was uncomfortable because people were lingering in the aisle taking photos. Additionally, the fireworks were launched from the opposite window side, and unfortunately, people gathered by the window before it started, blocking the view. This was disappointing. It was my second time participating in the dinner cruise after eight years, and the food was mostly as expected. There were few Japanese passengers; it felt like about 70-80% were Americans. The finale included everyone dancing to YMCA, just like eight years ago, but the price had increased three to four times, making it an event where the impact of rising costs was keenly felt.

I participated in this as my last dinner during my stay in Hawaii! I ordered the lobster and steak, and both were very delicious! Additionally, being able to enjoy hula dancing while dining, and at the end, dancing together with all the passengers who wanted to join was the best memory. The friendly atmosphere was very much in line with the spirit of Hawaii, and it was wonderful. We were also lucky to see the sunset beautifully without any clouds obstructing it.

My wife and I participated in a five-star cruise for our honeymoon. The interior of the ship was very luxurious, and we enjoyed a very elegant time accompanied by the performance of a grand piano. The view from the window was breathtaking, allowing us to see the beautiful sunset over the sea. We could order three drinks in total, including a welcome champagne and two additional drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options were available). The food was also abundant, featuring appetizers, lobster, a palate cleanser sorbet, steak, and dessert. Each dish was beautifully presented and made for wonderful memories. The captain was fluent in Japanese and very friendly, which made it great to chat with him! There were six of us for the Deluxe 3-Star selection. My daughter-in-law got motion sick from the swaying of the boat, so I suggest taking Dramamine before boarding.

The "champagne" toast was non-alcoholic. Food was ok but not worth the price to upgrade. Drinks were not very good. Music during the cruise was too loud and mostly show-tunes, not Hawaiian songs.

Michael - our server - was quite good. Dancers and singers were enthusiastic. Views were lovely.

I highly recommend it, five stars. The grand piano performance and the talented female singer were wonderful. Although it was labeled as jazz, I recognized many famous songs. The drinks and food were served properly, and during the sunset and fireworks, we stepped outside to enjoy the view while eating. I really enjoyed the piano and singing until the end, and I'm glad I chose the course meal. Everyone was dressed casually; there were even people in sandals and shorts. About 80% of the guests were Westerners.

Upon arriving at the pickup location in Waikiki at the designated time and boarding the bus, it took about 20 minutes to reach the harbor where the Star of Honolulu was docked.

After boarding the ship, we waited for about 30 minutes at our seats while enjoying light snacks and drinks, and finally set sail. I was worried about seasickness, but surprisingly, the ride was quite smooth and comfortable throughout.

During the trip, we could freely go outside from the indoor area, enjoying the pleasant breeze while taking in the stunning views of Waikiki's high-rise hotels and the mountains, including Diamond Head. We were fortunate enough to see a rainbow over Waikiki, making for a very romantic cruise.

Onboard, we listened to live jazz music, and the food, including lobster and beef steak, was absolutely delicious. The ship was a bit air-conditioned, but it wasn't a problem since we could easily step outside if we felt chilly.

The approximately two-hour cruise flew by. It was early May, and while it was still light when we departed, it was completely dark by the time we docked. After docking, we boarded the bus again for our return to Waikiki.

約2時間の船旅はあっという間でした。5月の初めでしたが、出発する時はまだ日が残っており、寄港時には真っ暗でした。寄港した後は、改めてバスに乗りワイキキまで送迎してもらいました。

The hotel transfer was very smooth, which was great.

I participated in the buffet style. I was satisfied with the meal. The live show was impressive and worth watching. At the end, everyone danced imitating the staff, but it was a bit disorganized since the staff didn't remember the moves well, which was a bit disappointing. The sunset was amazing.

Highlight was the Polynesian show. Food was ok, deserts were good. Complimentary drinks were average. Purchased drinks were pricey. Overall, did not get to see much of a sunset by being busy with the food and the show. It felt more like sitting in a restaurant since the boat was moving slow and sturdy unless you come out to grab the food.

I participated in the 5 Star experience due to a campaign. After arriving at the venue, there were many people in line, but only the 5 Star passengers were allowed to board first. The smoothness of the process meant I didn’t get to see the welcoming hula dancer…

You can enjoy dinner in a special space on the top floor. At 5 Star, couples danced gracefully in front of us to soft jazz music, creating an overall adult atmosphere. When I looked down from above, I could hear lively sounds coming from the lower floors, so I think it’s best to choose according to your preference!

I struggled a bit with the language barrier, as I couldn’t communicate well in Japanese. Also, it swayed more than I expected, so I think it's essential for those who are prone to motion sickness to take anti-nausea medication! The food was delicious, and I was satisfied with the special night I had.

The disembarkation was scheduled for 7:45 PM, and I ordered a bottle of wine around 6:45 PM. However, no matter how many times I followed up with the butler, I was told the bar was crowded, and the wine did not arrive until 7:20 PM, just as dessert was being served. Since it was a screw-top wine, there was no need for uncorking; they just needed to bring it. The drinks that came with the meal also took about 15 minutes to be served after ordering. I recommend ordering drinks well in advance. For those who want to enjoy their meal with drinks, it was a stressful experience.

Wonderful Dinner Cruise

We had the best time with the Star of Honolulu. The captain was very welcoming, and the staff was first rate. Our restaurant wait person Tina, was very prompt in meeting our needs. She was friendly and efficient. The entertainment was excellent, and the food was tasty and plentiful. We sat next to a couple of other travelers and thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. I would recommend this cruise to everyone!
