There were many comments saying that there were hardly any Japanese people, but when I participated, there were a few groups. I was the only one attending alone, so it felt lonely. The Japanese couple nearby seemed to speak English and looked like they were having a great time with the foreigners, which made me envious. The sunset from the boat was incredibly beautiful and became a great memory on the last day! But I think I don't want to go alone next time, haha.

It was tough getting up early, but the ship was luxurious and there was an explanation in Japanese, which was great. However, I suffered from severe seasickness. My friend, who didn't get seasick, said they only saw the whale's tail. The staff were very accommodating, and the person in the hall showed us a video of the whale when it appeared on their phone! This time, I chose not to have breakfast, but the food looked delicious, and I was able to add it for $13 per person.

My husband and I elected for the Appetizer Cruise option on the Fireworks night (Friday). The Majestic was a solid, stable boat with seating and standing / inside and outside options. Additional drinks were reasonably priced and the buffet appetizers were tasty. The evening entertainers (two musicians and a Hula dancer) were terrific.

Given that this cruise is only on Fridays I booked it from home before leaving, which also gave us something to look forward to in advance, thiugh later learned that some folks were able to secure a spot a few days before. For the price, thus is MUST! I will forever remember watching the fireworks from the ocean with the backdrop of Waikiki hotels all aglow....

This was my second time participating, and it was just as great as before. There was music playing on the boat, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Plus, there was an all-you-can-drink option. I highly recommend it. By the way, this is the same boat that the members were on in the final episodes of the Hawaii season of Terrace House.

First of all, the tour company did nothing wrong. On the contrary, I found their smooth operation and progress to be quite favorable.

Perhaps my expectations for whale watching were too high or my imagination ran wild. During the approximately one-and-a-half-hour cruise, we only saw a distant spout once and a dolphin jump once. While we did see something, I had imagined seeing a large tail up close or multiple whales swimming, so I felt a bit disappointed.

However, this is something that depends on luck. Overall, the tour itself received a high rating.

As the reviews mentioned, there were many international guests, and only two groups of Japanese people, including us. This made it feel less like being away from home, and everyone was friendly and cheerful. There are restrooms available, but they are the typical ones found on boats. I thought we would only be able to see the sunset, but to my surprise, we encountered a whale!!! As soon as we spotted it, the captain quickly changed our course towards the whale, and we were able to see it multiple times! Drinks were served promptly, and it felt great to see Waikiki from the sea♪

The weather forecast in Hawaii is not reliable!! The rain forecast turned out to be "clear skies," and there were no waves, making the boat ride comfortable. We saw the humpback whales' spouts and tails many times, and each time, the passengers erupted in applause. The boat was large and stable. I appreciate the crew for their excellent hospitality. My first sunset catamaran experience. The views of Waikiki, Diamond Head, and the horizon from the boat were all amazing! We even happened to see a whale, and everyone got excited pointing it out. The sunset was incredibly beautiful. However, the $24 for the photo taken before boarding the boat felt a bit pricey... I didn't buy it.

We got to see a whale jump right at the beginning! We also saw plenty of spouts and tails! My child was so excited, and I really felt it was worth participating!

We discovered them about 15 minutes before returning to port, so we ended up coming back quite late, but we were very satisfied!

Epic is the word that comes to mind. We had the best time. It was more than we had anticipated. We have lived here for 11 years and this was our first time sailing with the Star Of Honolulu. The 5 Star dinner cruise with Live Jazz made our 14th anniversary that much more special. From the warm reception, meeting and greeting the Captain, the Ono pupu’s to the amazing 7 course meal and top notched entertainment we felt like royalty. You can’t beat the amazing sunset and whale sightings either. If you are looking to celebrate or just relax and take in the sights the Star Of Honolulu is definitely the thing to do.
We had a great and memorable time from start to finish. Mahalo Star Of Honolulu .

Anniversary Spectacular!

My husband and I had a spectacular time on this 5 star dinner cruise. We've lived here for 11 years and this was our first time experiencing the elegance and absolute superb 5 star dinning experience the Star of Honolulu offers. From start to finish everything was spectacular. We were treated like VIP's. We were greeted and warmly escorted to the boat where we partook of some extremely delectable pupu's while being serenaded by a Polynesian dancer and ukulele player. We were also introduced to the Captain of the ship and was afforded a photo op with him. As the evening progressed the boat set sail and the 7 course meal did not disappoint. We ate until our belly's were super tight. Did I mention the majestic sunset we watched from our window seats? Simply amazing! We also enjoyed the top shelf drinks that were apart of the menu. But not to worry if you are not an alcohol drinker there are many non-alcohol drinks to choose from.
This dinner cruise truly exceeded our expectations and we would wholeheartedly recommend the 5 star experience especially for that very special occasion. Its the perfect way to celebrate. It's kid friendly too. Mahalo Star of Honolulu for a very memorable anniversary! #14yrs

This cruise was a nice boat ride. All employees were friendly, welcoming and pleasant. The shuttle ride to the boat was on time and information shared by employees was clear. The buffet dinner was average. It seemed to take a while for serving dishes to be refilled and there was a shortage of utensils. The cruising of the boat was lovely, ample time to observe the sunset, fireworks. The major negative would be only two restrooms available for everyone. The live music was well done and very enjoyable.

Since my child is small and unable to enjoy activities like snorkeling, we participated in a whale watching tour. That certainly did not stop us from having a wonderful time. The day was beautiful, the boat comfortable, the staff very informative and friendly. The wonderful bonus, because there were no whales spotted, we have been given a return voucher good for anytime this whale watching season. A great value and will go again!

I had an amazing time! The Mai Tai was delicious, and the staff were great at getting everyone excited! Above all, the sunset was beautiful, and we even saw a whale! There were three groups of Japanese and one Korean family, and we were able to blend in with the Westerners without feeling out of place! Everyone shared their seats, and we were able to take photos at the stunning viewpoint! This was my fourth time in Hawaii, and I will definitely participate again next time.

However, they said they would distribute tickets for the next time, yet there was no further information provided. It feels bad to get the impression that they think, "They're just tourists, so they won't come back." If that's the case, they shouldn't have said anything from the beginning.

Alternatively, they need to come up with some creative pricing strategies for cruises, like the icebreaker boats in Hokkaido, otherwise, it gives off a feeling of being left hanging because it's a foreign country.
