The meal was a buffet, so it was pretty much as expected. Since everything was in English, I had no idea what anyone was saying and just ate while watching the hula show. With so many Japanese people on board, I wished they would speak in Japanese too. It was cloudy, so I was disappointed that I couldn't see the sunset. The ship rocked quite a bit. The final YMCA dance was fun with everyone participating. But I probably won't join next time.

To start, Parking was really easy to find. We arrived early as we were staying about 25 miles from Honolulu. GPS took us right down to the ship. There is a parking lot right across the street from the Marketplace where the ship is docked. That was handy as there were 2 of us with mobility issues. I guess my daughter was the first to check in as our group of 5 were the first ones to be taken on board. The environment was festive and from casual to dressy. The food was delicious! The staff were very friendly and professional. We were celebrating our 50th Anniversary, so we had decided to have pictures taken. The photographer did a really good job and took quite a few pictures, including one on the upper deck which turned out well. The evening's entertainment was very enjoyable including the fireworks display set off over the water at Waikiki Beach.
We would definitely do it again.

We did this dinner cruise on a Friday for the fireworks. They served lobster and steak for dinner, the lobster was a whole lobster, the meat was a little tough to chew, the steak was done to much. The show they put on after the fireworks was absolutely phenomenal, they got everyone involved. Even with the mediocre meal I still would recommend this dinner cruise.

I had participated in the 3-Star cruise several times before, so this was my first time on the 5-Star cruise. There was no welcome party on board, and the food was disappointing; in the end, they didn't even serve coffee. I felt that the atmosphere and food were better on the 3-Star cruise, so I will choose the 3-Star next time.

This was my first trip to Hawaii after COVID, but I noticed that the number of participants on the Star of Honolulu has decreased significantly. It felt like there was no longer the same vibrancy as before.

We were blessed with beautiful weather, and the view of Diamond Head and the deep blue sea and sky from the ocean was stunning. Even if we hadn't encountered any whales, I would have been completely satisfied just with the cruise. Just when I was about to give up, the whales finally appeared! The sight of two of them slapping their tails on the water's surface was incredibly powerful. We were able to see them closer than I had imagined. They showed up again in another spot, and I was absolutely thrilled. The kids were also very excited!

It was a full house for the Friday night fireworks viewing tour. To be honest, it was overcrowded, and the table seating was cramped, making it tough to enjoy dinner leisurely! Additionally, the tables were unstable, and I was worried that the drink glasses would tip over! Given this situation, I rushed to get the buffet food, fearing it would run out, but there was plenty of replenishment, and I had no issues going back for seconds (which is a positive point). The taste was acceptable as long as I didn't have high expectations. As for the cruise, I was satisfied with the sunset, night views, and fireworks.

When I was a child, I had meals on the upper floor because I rode on the course. The taste wasn't memorable, so this time I chose the buffet style. You shouldn't expect too much from the taste. You also have to line up to get to the buffet. It feels different from a Japanese-style buffet.
After finishing the meal, I climbed the stairs to go out to the deck, but I found out that only people on the upper floor could go out to the deck, so I ended up watching the fireworks from a crowded outer corridor. I thought it would have been better to have the course meal and be able to go out to the observation deck.

For our first overseas trip, I took my father and mother with me to Hawaii. We made reservations because there are fireworks on Friday, and I wanted to end our last night with delicious food.

As a result, we created the most wonderful memories and got great photos! We enjoyed delicious meat and seafood in an amazing location. With jazz music playing and the sunset right in front of us, we went outside to enjoy the photos and the sunset while waiting for our food. We were also able to see the fireworks perfectly.

This was my third time participating. The endings were different each time, but all three times ended with everyone joining in, which was fun in its own way. I wanted to see the fireworks that go off from the Hilton every Friday, so I made a reservation for Friday. It lasted about five minutes, but it was very beautiful. The buffet was delicious, but the roast beef was still undercooked, and it took a long time to chew, so I gave up halfway through. The sunset dinner cruise was my first in 36 years since my honeymoon. It may be a bit cliché, but it's definitely enjoyable for couples, families, and friends. We chose the highest window seat, just for our group, with a bottle of sparkling wine and photos included. If you prefer not to be with other groups, this is the best option. The weather was great, and since it was Friday, we were able to see the fireworks that only happen every Friday, which made for wonderful memories.

I think it's less likely to get seasick on a large ship, but when you go up to the fourth deck for whale watching, the height increases the swaying, so it feels quite shaky. If you're concerned, I recommend taking motion sickness medication.

We were able to spot quite a few whales. While we didn't see any huge jumps with half their bodies out of the water, we did see them spouting water and their tails and dorsal fins coming out of the surface multiple times. I thought it would be difficult to search in the vast ocean, but since everyone is watching, you quickly notice when they appear, and it creates quite a buzz. There was also another small boat on a tour nearby, and if that boat is stopped, it means they are observing whales in that area, which makes it easy to understand.
