On the evening of the day I arrived in Hawaii, I participated in a sunset catamaran tour. As soon as we headed out to sea, a rainbow appeared over Diamond Head, and I was blessed with the incredible view of Waikiki and the rainbow from the ocean. The sunset was also amazing, and seeing Waikiki from the sea became one of my best memories. It's an activity I would love to participate in again.

Joined morning whale watching cruise by Star of Honolulu. The cruise started from detailed explanation of naturist, and my sons enjoyed listening to the facts about humpback whales before actually seeing it afterwards.
We saw the whale right after departing the port and captain maneuver the ship very well so that we could chase and see the whale several times. Unfortunately the whale was not so entertaining this time and we couldn’t see live actions like tail slap or bleaching.
Still we’ve enjoyed the whale watching including the hospitality of the clue.
Good to know they will give another chance for free if you cannot see whale during the cruise.
Great experience for winter Hawaii visit!

It was a comfortable cruise, possibly due to the large ship, as my wife, who easily gets seasick even after taking motion sickness medication, didn't feel any nausea at all. There were times when I could feel the ship swaying up and down, but we were so engrossed in searching for whale spouts that it was completely fine. For those who are anxious, I definitely recommend taking motion sickness medication before boarding. During our whale search, although they were far away, we were able to see the spouts, dorsal fins, and parts of the bodies multiple times, which was very satisfying. It was impressive to see them seemingly jump as well. The captain and the female tour guide had such warm personalities that it felt great from the morning greeting. The peppermint rain we received when we got off was so delicious that I wish they would sell it. It was such a fulfilling experience that I even thought about going again the next day. From my husband's perspective, the power of the planes taking off and landing from the nearby airport was incredible, allowing us to enjoy both at once, which was the best. I will definitely go again the next time I come to Hawaii.

Our evening on the Star of Honolulu was an excellent experience! Ample parking was easy and accessible with 2 lots within walking distance. The check-in process was a breeze, make sure your voucher is ready. Waiting to board we were entertained with local dancers and music. Time to board! We were sorted by class and our trip to the top deck was a nice elevator ride up. We were seated at a nice intimate table with large window perfect for viewing. First on the table was a charcuterie board with tasty cheeses, meats and fruit. Don’t forget the champagne! As the cruise got underway were able to chat with the guests seated next to us. The dancers and singers provided more entertainment as we departed. The music throughout the night was relaxing.

On our journey to view the sunset in front of Diamon Head we encountered some whales! A happy surprise. The lobster course was delicious. We were treated to a sorbet course in the middle of our dining experience which was tasty. The food was flavorful and appetizing. Delicious! During the trip you are able to take many great pictures and they even have a photographer on standby.

The sunset was amazing as well as the views from the Waikiki area. The journey home was more intimate and with the lowered light and live jazz music. Dancing is also encouraged. The cheesecake dessert did not disappoint. The journey was full of memories and was the perfect end to an amazing time in Hawaii. Overall this cruise is very recommended to anyone looking for memories, delicious food and a wonderful evening.

Although it was from a distance, I was really satisfied to see a whale for the first time.

There were several whale watching boats, but I think it was a good choice to select the Star of Honolulu, as the smaller boats tend to sway quite a bit.

The scenery and atmosphere were fantastic. The Mai Tai was very delicious and since it was all-you-can-drink, I had quite a few. Everyone was cheerful and having a great time. When boarding, you enter the water a little, so shorter clothes might be better. Many people wore shorts. It felt a bit chilly, so I think it's good to have something to throw on. It was truly a wonderful time. I plan to use this again.

If you're looking to see a hula show, I had my mind set on the Aha Aina at the Royal Hawaiian. Of course, I signed up for the front row seating plan. Since the price difference between regular and front row seats is minimal, I recommend going for the front row.

The show itself was simply amazing! With mesmerizing dances, comedic performances, passionate dances, and powerful fire dances, there was never a dull moment—it flew by in no time.

The dinner included an appetizer, a main course, and a generous dessert platter, so much that I couldn't finish it all. As expected from the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, everything was delicious. The ticket also included three drink vouchers, so I thoroughly enjoyed Mai Tais, Blue Hawaiis, and Piña Coladas.

I was a bit worried because there were no reviews, but it was such an amazing time that I wondered why there were no reviews! I went in March with 10 colleagues, and the two staff members were fantastic! The party was great, and we even saw whales. We had a truly memorable time!

In March, the evenings and nights in Hawaii can still be a bit chilly, especially when you're out at sea where the wind can be strong. You can swim (there's even a shower!), so I recommend wearing a long-sleeve shirt over your swimsuit that you don't mind getting wet!

We brought our own food and drinks, but everything was provided—plates, cutlery, cups, ice, you name it! They even put our snacks in a basket, making it super cute! One of the staff members spoke a little Japanese too! ❤️

My first whale watching experience!
I happened to visit Hawaii during the season when whales can be seen, so I thought it was a rare opportunity and joined a tour.
About 20-30 minutes after boarding, we were able to see whales right away! The view is great from the upper deck, but since it's a bit far away, I recommend watching from the lower deck for a closer look. While we couldn't get extremely close, I was very moved to see a whale in person for the first time! The sea breeze was pleasant, and the whole experience of being on the boat was enjoyable.

I was worried about whether I would be able to see anything since I participated in late March, but shortly after we set sail, a whale appeared! It spouted water and I was able to see its tail as well. However, it was a small whale and it was just a brief moment.

After that, there were a couple of brief appearances of small whales in the first half, but they were really just for an instant. In the second half, we didn't see anything at all, which left a feeling of disappointment.

Still, I’m glad I got to see a whale, even if just once in my life. If you imagine a big whale spouting water or slapping its large tail on the surface of the sea, you might end up feeling like, "Is that all there is?"

3月下旬に参加のため、見られるのか心配していたものの、出航して間もなく、くじらが現れてくれました。潮を吹いて、尾っぽも見ることが出来ました。しかし、小さなクジラで一瞬の出来事でした。

Since you never know where the whales will appear, we only saw them for a moment, but we were able to see a whale's tail and it spouting water. The captain worked hard to adjust the boat's position so we could see the whales.

I participated in the morning session on March 8. There were designated meeting points at nearby hotels, and we took a bus to the port. Most participants were Japanese, and the staff didn't seem to speak Japanese particularly well. There were plenty of Japanese signs and information, so I didn't have much trouble.

As for the whales, we could see their tails and spouts from a distance, but it wasn't satisfying. Also, it was quite windy and cold on the boat, so I felt that a jacket was necessary rather than just a light layer. I wouldn't recommend wearing shorts either.

It seems that this is the tail end of the whale-watching season, so I guess it's understandable that we couldn't see them well, which is my impression after returning.

I was satisfied to see the whale's tail from a distance a few times, which was also within my expectations. My husband and I really enjoyed the Sunset Snorkel Cruise! The views were beautiful and the crew were so nice! I was nervous about trying to snorkel but the crew was super helpful and I felt safe (life vest and I was able to use a floatie as well) and we saw lots of colorful fish and sea turtles! The cocktail service was great, tasty and generous. Unfortunately during the return portion of the cruise, I felt a bit seasick (did not really affect my enjoyment of the cruise though) so only ate rice for dinner but my husband enjoyed the food which was plentiful. If you are prone to motion sickness (which I am) that would be my only advice, I forgot my accupressure wristbands which do actually work fairly well. I liked that the group was small and we had the freedom to move around and sit and stand where we wanted and all the guests were pleasant and we felt comfortable socializing and getting to talk to other people. I highly recommend this cruise!

Beautful sunset view from the top deck; great food and entertainment. The best part by far was the Jazz Ensemble! At the end, the cast and servers did an amazing ‘hula hula’ version of YMCA. The group loved it.

There is a pickup service from the center of Waikiki, and it takes about 30 minutes to board. Many foreigners participated, and the explanations after departure were primarily in English, but it wasn't a problem at all. About 20 to 30 minutes after departure, we were able to see whales around the area with Diamond Head in front of us. They were small, but we could see them spouting water multiple times and jumping, making the time fly by.

Since it’s a large boat, I think you don’t have to worry too much about it rocking, but it was cold inside the boat, so I recommend bringing a jacket!

The upper deck was great for taking pictures. We started off with a charcuterie board that had tasty cheeses and fruit. The second course included lobster over a beet salad with a nice puree. My only reservation was the meat which was overcooked in my opinion, but to be fair, I'm sure many people prefer a medium-well filet. Taking pictures in between courses was a huge plus and didn't make us feel confined to the table. Overall, I would recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a good time.

The initial explanation was like a menu, and there was a Japanese translation guide available. The announcements and commentary on the ship were in English only. It was no one’s fault that the day we went was windy and they had to turn the boat around after they said “this is where most whales hang around.” We got to see a blow hole and one fluke which was fun but it was at the very end of our trip so we didn’t get to stay and watch the group of whales any further. The captain did delay our return 15 minutes to see the whale that we did see which was very nice! Overall, it was no one’s fault that the weather wasn’t the best but to me it felt like a waste of my time and money and I was disappointed in the end
