I'm really glad I participated! The clarity of the ocean was amazing, and I encountered a pod of about 40 dolphins, which was so exciting!! I even got to see sea turtles and whales, it was the best experience ever! The staff really got everyone pumped up, and I was able to enjoy the whole time with maximum energy, right up to the final dance. I will definitely participate again next time!

However, we weren't blessed with completely clear weather; the sun peeked out occasionally. It was a bit chilly when we got out of the water, so I recommend wearing a wetsuit if it's cloudy (you can rent one on the day). If you tend to get seasick, make sure to get a good night's sleep the night before! There were quite a few young people who seemed to be feeling seasick.

本当に参加して良かったです！海の透明度も素晴らしく、イルカ40匹くらいの群れに遭遇して大興奮！！海ガメやクジラまでも見れて最高でした(^^)スタッフの方も盛り上げてくれて、最後のダンスまでテンションMAXで過ごすことが出来ました。絶対また次回も参加します！

Let's bring about $15 in cash per person. Most people rented wetsuits for an additional fee. For the photos, which cost around $50, I provided my credit card number over the phone after the tour to purchase them. They will send you a URL via email to view the photos on Dropbox.
The boat can be quite rocky, so be sure to bring motion sickness medication.

The tour was a lot of fun, thanks to our guide Julie and the enthusiastic staff who really got everyone excited. The nearly hour-long drive to the port was filled with beautiful natural scenery, quite different from the city of Honolulu, and the enjoyable commentary made it feel like a true Hawaiian sightseeing experience!

But above all, the dolphins were amazing!! We got to see a pod of over 80 dolphins while snorkeling. I never expected to see such a large group, so I was absolutely thrilled.

After the dolphins, we saw a small turtle and many cute Hawaiian endemic yellow butterflyfish while snorkeling. On the way back to the port, we also spotted a few whales relatively close by.

Lastly, the hula lesson on the boat was a lot of fun. However, several people were feeling seasick, so I recommend that those who are not used to boats take some motion sickness medication (like Travelmin) in advance.

Waking up early was tough for me (since I'm not good at it), but I was very satisfied to meet a pod of dolphins. We were able to snorkel with about 20 dolphins for around 20 minutes (it might have been longer!).

On the bus to the port, a Japanese female tour guide taught us a lot about dolphins, which was very informative. It was a bit cold since it was February, but I rented a wetsuit for $10, so I managed to avoid catching a cold on the way back.

We got seasick and felt a bit unwell during the trip, but we still managed to have fun! A professional photographer took pictures during the tour, and you can purchase them for $50. The photographer was taking photos of participants on the boat and diving to capture shots at the dolphin points. We didn't buy any this time since we couldn't check what kind of photos were taken before purchasing, but many other participants ended up buying them!

Whether the weather is good or how many dolphins you encounter depends on luck that day, but I've never been on a dolphin tour where I didn't see any, so you can be sure you'll have a high chance of encountering them! It was a fun tour!

While there is an element of luck involved since it's nature, I believe the 90% encounter rate is thanks to the expertise of the renowned Dolphin University.

About ten minutes into the boat ride, we had our first dive, where we only encountered a sea turtle, but during the second dive, we encountered dolphins. We saw dozens of them and were able to swim alongside them (though we couldn't dive since we were wearing life jackets).

We were also able to get very close to the sea turtles. While snorkeling, we were surrounded by many fish. We even got to go whale watching, and we clearly saw the tail of a whale, which is said to bring happiness when spotted.

It was the best experience, one that I doubt I will ever have again.

My wife mentioned that she found it tough because she can't swim and is sensitive to the cold, but this is a tour I want to participate in every time I come to Hawaii.

If you prepare well with cold weather gear (dry towels, long sleeves, wetsuits) and measures for seasickness, I think it will be an extremely satisfying tour.

Even if you don't see dolphins, the guide will keep the atmosphere lively, so I believe you'll have a fun time without a doubt.

I can confidently recommend this tour.

ウミガメも目と鼻の先まで近づくことができました。

二度とこんな体験は出来ないだろう、というくらい最高の体験でした。

嫁は、泳げないのと、寒さに弱いのとで、もうきつい、と言ってましたが、私はハワイに来るたびには必ず参加したいツアーです。

防寒対策（乾いたタオル、長袖、ウェットスーツ）と船酔い対策をしっかりしておけば極めて満足感の高いツアーになるのではないでしょうか。

たとえ、イルカに会えなくとも、ガイドさんが盛り上げてくれるので、楽しい時間になることは間違いないと思います。

On the way to the port, we quickly arrived thanks to our guide Julie's entertaining rapid-fire talk. The driver was Frank.

The local staff member BJ was also bright and fun.

Fortunately, we encountered a pod of dolphins right away. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any sea turtles swimming.

After that, we all enjoyed a hula lesson and received snacks and juice before returning to the port.

On the way back, we had spam onigiri and juice to eat while returning.

I participated on February 11, and it was a bit chilly, possibly because it was early in the morning and it had been raining until a couple of days prior. Everyone rented wetsuits for $10. I wore a long-sleeve rash guard and long pants, but I think I would have been cold without the wetsuit.

About 20 minutes after the boat departed, we encountered a pod of dolphins, and everyone jumped into the sea to help look for them. It felt more like watching them swim from a distance rather than swimming with them. We quickly found another pod of dolphins on the second encounter as well.

Unfortunately, during snorkeling, I didn't get to see any sea turtles swimming. I could only see a hand sticking out from behind a rock at the deep bottom. The hula lesson was also fun.

It was a really enjoyable experience that ended in no time. I participated with my family of four (children in 8th and 11th grades), but since it was a physically demanding activity, I think it might be difficult for small children or elderly people.

As soon as we boarded, we were told, "There are dolphins!" We hurriedly prepared, and within 10 minutes of boarding, we met the dolphins!! That day, we got to try it twice, and my husband, who was visiting Hawaii for the first time, was super excited! This was my first time participating! I heard that there’s almost a 100% chance of encountering dolphins, but it seemed like we struggled quite a bit this time and had a hard time finding them. Normally, we would have given up, but the instructor's passionate commitment to finding them helped us finally meet the dolphins. Even during the time we couldn’t see any dolphins, there was a lot of thoughtfulness, and it was really enjoyable! I’m not very good at swimming, but I felt quite reassured because they swam with me! The people I shared the experience with were also very cooperative, making it a wonderful memory. If I ever go to Hawaii again, I definitely want to do this!

I couldn't get close enough to swim with them.
It was more like a distance suitable for a cruising tour.

In winter,
you should definitely bring Uniqlo's Ultra Light Down and disposable raincoats if you have them! (A shammy is super useful if you have one.)

Basically, everything gets wet because you put it on over a wet wetsuit. I found the shammy I brought to be incredibly useful! Once the bath towel gets wet, it's useless, so I wiped off as much water as possible with the shammy, then put on the bath towel, wore the 100 yen raincoat to block the wind and moisture, and then put on the Ultra Light Down, which was just right.

Out of 40 people, only 4.5 managed to swim happily without getting seasick until the end.
The rest were all throwing up, and only 4.5 people participated in all three dives.

Those with weak vestibular systems who can't swim will definitely get seasick since they can only float.

I personally have a weak vestibular system, but since I was constantly swimming, I wasn't affected by the swaying, so I managed to get through it.

This is an activity for those who are confident in their physical strength!

クルージングのツアーでも良いくらいの距離。
でも、自然の生き物だし 法律もあるからしょうがない。 クルーもみんな頑張ってくれたからまたリベンジするね！

【これから参加する方へ】
冬であれば
・ユニクロの ウルトラライトダウンと使い捨てのカッパ、あれば絶対持っていくべき！ (セームがあれば超使える)

基本的に濡れたウエットスーツの上に羽織るので全て濡れます。 水泳で使うセームを持っていったらめちゃくちゃ重宝しました！！ バスタオルは濡れたら終わりなのでセームで水気をできるだけ拭き取ってから バスタオルをはおり、100均のカッパをはおり風と水気を遮ってから その上にウルトラライトダウンを着たのでちょうど良かった。


40人中、酔わないで最後まで元気に泳げたのは4.5人。
あとはみんな 吐いてたし、3回のダイブを全部参加したのはたった4.5人でした。

三半規管が弱くて 水泳ができない人は 浮いているしかないので 確実に酔います。

私自身は 三半規管は弱いですが 常に泳いでいたので揺れに左右されなかったのでクリアできました。


体力に自信のある人向けのアクティビティです！

Overall, it was cloudy, but it was great that it was sunny during the dolphin watching by boat and at the water play area.

The weather had not been good for about a week, and there was a possibility that we might not see any dolphins, but we were able to see a pod of about 20 dolphins and a sea turtle, which was amazing.
*Some people were feeling nauseous, so I think it would be a good idea to take motion sickness medication with you or bring some along.

As advice for those joining the tour, snacks and drinks are provided after the tour, so I think it's a good idea to bring about 500ml of water on the boat. The photos were taken by a professional photographer, and the data cost $50 per group. The content was sufficient.

I was thrilled to see wild dolphins and whales for the first time! I was so excited to swim with my partner! However, unfortunately, it was quite windy, and after getting out of the sea, I was so cold that I couldn't stop shivering. Due to heavy snow in Narita, my trip to Hawaii was cut short by one day. It was a pretty intense two days, but I think I was able to enjoy my time in Hawaii. I was a bit anxious the next day, but since I didn’t receive a call, I thought everything was fine and headed to the pickup location. However, it turned out to be the day of an annual parade, and the roads were heavily congested. After waiting for the bus for an hour... (I wondered if this could have been anticipated since it happens every year, but all the other tours and buses heading to the airport were also delayed, so I thought it might just be something you have to accept in Hawaii with a big heart, haha). It seemed that the street where we were supposed to be picked up was particularly congested, so the bus stopped on a larger road, and two staff members (one of whom was Japanese) ran to greet us. A large, beautiful bus came to pick us up. Once on the bus, they began with an apology for the delay, introduced the staff, and explained the schedule and important notes in English followed by Japanese. There was also information about purchasing a USB for photos and videos taken on the trip, as well as renting wetsuits. Those who purchased the photo/video package on the way to the destination received a wristband as a gift (one for each participant) and a $5 discount. It seems that if you stay close to the photographer, you might get more photos taken. Upon arriving at the harbor, we used the restroom and borrowed fins and goggles. (We also tried on the wetsuits we rented on the bus here.) Once we found the right size, we boarded the boat. After boarding, we set off to look for dolphins, and during that time, there was another explanation, and we sang a Hawaiian song to show respect for the ocean and its creatures while offering flowers. The cheerful Hawaiian staff jumped into the sea as soon as we reached the dolphin spot and swam to the location of the dolphins. 予約をしていた日の朝、ＶＥＬＴＲＡさんのスタッフの方から「本日は波が高く催行不可能となりました…」と連絡があり、返金・振り替えなどの説明があり、翌日へ振り替えてもらいました。もちろんきちんとした対応で、何の心配もありませんでした。次の日も心配でしたが、電話が来なかったので大丈夫なんだなと思いピックアップ場所へ。しかしその日は年に一度のパレードの日だったらしく道路は大渋滞。バスを待つこと1時間…。（毎年の事なので事前に予測できないのかな？とは思いましたが、他のツアーも、空港へ向かう予約のバスもどれもこれも全てが遅れていたのでハワイでは仕方がないのかな？と思う大きな心が必要です（笑））我が家のピックアップ場所の通りが特に渋滞していたようなので大きい道路にバスを停めスタッフの方が2人（1人は日本人）で走って迎えに来てくれました。大きい素敵なバスがお迎えに来てくれていました。バスに乗るとまず、遅れたお詫びから始まりスタッフの紹介、今日のスケジュールや注意事項などを英語に続き日本語で説明してくれます。バスの中で写真や動画を収めたＵＳＢの購入、ウエットスーツのレンタルなどについても説明があります。行きのバスで写真・動画のセットを購入した人はリストバンドのプレゼント（参加人数分）、5㌦の割引がありました。カメラマンの方の近くにいると多めに撮ってもらえるような気がします。ハーバーに着くと、トイレを済ませフィン・ゴーグルを借ります。（バスの中でレンタルしたウエットスーツもここで試着してみます）サイズを合わせて、ＯＫであれば船に乗り込みます。乗船後、イルカを探しに行きますがその間、再度説明があり、海や生き物に敬意を表すためのハワイの歌を歌って花を捧げます。陽気なハワイアンのスタッフ、イルカのポイントに着いたらすぐに海へ飛び込みイルカの場所まで泳いでいきます。残念ながらかめ、くじらには会えませんでしたが、イルカに出会え自然を感じられ感動でした。そのあとは別の場所へ移動し、シュノーケリングやカヤックなどで遊ぶ自由時間があります。ハーバーまで帰港する際にタロイモのチーズバーガー、パイナップル1口サイズを1つ小袋のチップスを一人一袋食べながら帰っていきます。スタッフがフラダンスも踊ってくれ、参加者皆で踊ったりもします。終始楽しい時間で家族みんな大満足です。我が家はUSBを購入したので、その日の夕方ワイキキのDFS近くにあるオフィスへ取りに行きオフィスにいた日本人の男性もとても気さくで感じのいいかたでした。エコバックはこのオフィスでもらえます。次回ハワイへ行った際には是非また参加したいです。お子さんがいらっしゃる場合は、11時出航プランにした方が子供の負担にならないと思います。普段酔わなくても酔い止めは予防として飲むべきだと思います。

I participated with my father (in his 60s). Since both of us grew up by the sea, we had no worries about swimming, but we were a bit nervous since it was our first time. The woman in charge was absolutely wonderful, and during the bus ride, we had a homeroom session where the participants (we were referred to as such) were laughing the whole time and felt relaxed. On the day of participation, we were told that due to high waves, it might be hard to spot dolphins right away, but as soon as we boarded the boat, we were able to see dolphins and sea turtles! After that, we dove into the sea and were moved to see dolphins swimming right below us... (they were quite far away, though, haha). We couldn't see them up close, but we were able to confirm a significant number of dolphins.

There were participants who suffered from seasickness throughout the trip, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who are prone to seasickness or can't swim (once you dive into the sea, the boat leaves, so if you want to return, you can't. We swam as a group for about 20 minutes, which could be quite tough for those who aren't confident). However, for those who have no issues with seasickness or swimming, I wholeheartedly recommend it! You can experience a feeling of being one with nature!

船酔いで終始苦しんでおられる参加者の方もいましたので、船酔いする方や泳げない方(海に一度潜ると船は離れますので戻りたくてももどれません。20分くらい団体で泳ぐので得意じゃない方はかなら辛そうでした)にはおすすめしませんが、船酔いにも泳ぎにも問題ない方には全力でおすすめです！自然と一体化した気分が味わえますよう！

After swimming with dolphins in the Ogasawara Islands, I became captivated by them and applied for the experience. First, I tend to get seasick, so I intended to take motion sickness medication but forgot, and we set sail as is. As expected, I got seasick. I didn't reach the point of vomiting, but on the way back, I felt nauseous and couldn't eat. So, I recommend that anyone who is prone to seasickness definitely take motion sickness medication.

Now, onto the main event with the dolphins. It seems I was lucky that day, as we quickly encountered a pod of about a dozen dolphins. As soon as we jumped into the water, we were able to swim with the dolphins right away. They swam around us repeatedly, so we got to swim with them many times. They were really cute.

After that, we went snorkeling. Here too, as soon as we got into the water, we encountered two sea turtles. It was really exciting to see a large sea turtle swimming so comfortably.

After that, in January, the sun went down, and it got really cold. I recommend bringing warm clothing. The local staff were entertaining and made sure everyone had a good time, so overall, I was very satisfied.

I wanted to swim with dolphins, so I enrolled in Dolphin University. While riding the bus to the port, the staff shared various stories, making the journey enjoyable. On the boat heading to where the dolphins were, I was thrilled to also see whales! I was so happy to get off the boat twice and see a large group of dolphins up close. I also got to see sea turtles and fish, which was fun. Although I found the SUP, slide, and canoeing a bit lacking since we could only do them for a short time, I had a great time overall. If I get the chance to come back to Waikiki, I will enroll in Dolphin University again! For those who are prone to seasickness, I recommend taking motion sickness medication.

船酔いする方が沢山いたので、心配な方は必ず酔い止めを飲むべきです。
