I was able to see whales. I saw a mother and baby whale from a distance, and I could see the splashes of water well. My 5-year-old child was also very happy. They sell the photos taken during boarding if you like them, and it became a wonderful family keepsake.
くじら会えました。親子のくじら、遠目でしたが、水しぶきなど良くみえました。
5歳の子供も喜んでいました。乗船の時に撮った写真を気に入れば売ってくれるのですが、購入して良い家族記念になりました。

I used the service on March 10. This was my fifth time in Hawaii, but it was my first time trying this option, just the morning whale watching. I had my 4-year-old with me. A short-sleeved shirt was fine for clothing.
The scenery was beautiful, and the time flew by. We were able to see whales in the distance several times, and my family was very satisfied. I considered the breakfast option, but if you want to fully enjoy whale watching at a leisurely pace, skipping breakfast was the right choice. There’s no time to eat breakfast, haha. There are drinks available, but bringing your own bottled water or similar items beforehand will help you focus on encountering the whales.
The refreshing sea in the morning is highly recommended.
3月10日に利用しました。5度目のハワイですが初オプション、朝のホエールウォッチングのみ。4歳の子連れ。服装は半袖で大丈夫でした。
景色も綺麗であっと言う間の時間、クジラも遠くにですが何度か見ることも出来て家族大満足。
朝食付きも迷いましたが、ゆっくり海をホエールウォッチングを満喫したいなら朝食なしで正解です。朝食食べてる暇はありません笑 飲み物もありますが事前にペットボトルなど持参した方がクジラさんとの遭遇に専念できます。
爽やかな海、朝はオススメです。

On March 29, just before the end of the season, I was able to watch whales off the coast of Waikiki! We arrived at the whale watching point in less than 30 minutes after departure. We saw them spouting water and showing their tails. Dolphins were also jumping nearby.
When the buffet started, we enjoyed our meal at our seats while watching the whales through the glass. My middle school son was filming videos of the whales. After finishing our meal, I enjoyed making leis, while my husband took a ukulele lesson and other cultural experiences.
We were kindly guided from Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, to Aloha Tower by the shuttle service of the Star of Honolulu. I'm glad we were able to have this unique experience of the season.
シーズン終わり間近の3/29日にワイキキ沖でクジラを観賞することが出来ました！
出航して30分も経たぬ間にクジラポイントに到着。潮を噴いたり尻尾をみせたり。イルカもすぐそばでピョンピョン跳ねていました。
ビュッフェが始まると席で食事を楽しみながらガラス越しにクジラの観賞が出来ました。
中学生の息子はクジラの動画を撮影してくれていました。
食事が終わると私はレイ作り、主人はウクレレレッスン等文化体験を楽しみました。
スターオブホノルル号の送迎の車でアウラニディズニーホテルからアロハタワーまで親切に案内して頂けました。
このシーズンならでは体験が出来て良かったです。

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see any whales. The only silver lining was being able to see Honolulu from the sea, but it was truly disappointing. Since it was just before my return home, I really wanted to make it meaningful...

The view from the boat was decent, with a sight of the hotels lining Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. The food wasn't exceptionally delicious either; aside from the main lobster, it was pretty standard. The biggest feature of the Star of Honolulu is the Polynesian dance performed on board. Towards the end of the show, numerous dancers filled the aisles of the ship, performing right in front of the guests. It was quite lively, and some people even joined in the dancing, creating a great atmosphere. At the end, we sang "YMCA" and all the passengers formed a line to dance.
船からの景色は、ワイキキビーチ沿いに並ぶホテルとダイヤモンドヘッドを見るくらいで、まずまずといった感じ。食事もめちゃくちゃ美味しいというわけでもなく、メインのロブスター以外は無難な感じです。スターオブホノルルの最大の特徴は、船内で行われるポリネシアンダンスでしょう。終了時刻の後半になると、多数のダンサーが船内の通路を埋め尽くし、お客の目の前でダンスを繰り広げます。けっこうノリノリになり、一緒に踊る人もいるので、なかなかの盛り上がりでした。最後はヤングマンを歌い、乗客全員列になり踊りました。

It was a tour that set off with great enthusiasm at 8 AM, but unfortunately, we were unable to encounter any whales. The cruiser stayed out on the water until the very end, perhaps out of determination. I had no complaints about the tour itself. However, due to the strong winds that day, the cruiser rocked quite a bit, and one of my family members got seasick.
Still, considering that we got to see the cobalt blue sea and view Honolulu from the ocean, I think it’s an experience worth having at least once.
朝の８時から意気込んで出発したツアーでしたが、とても残念なことにクジラに遭遇できませんでした。クルーザーも最後まで粘ってくれたのか、時間ギリギリまで海上にいてくれました。ツアー自体に不満はありませんでした。当日は風が強かったせいか、クルーザーが大きく揺れて家族の一人が船酔いをしてしまいました。
でもコバルトブルーの海が見れたこと、ホノルルを海から見れたことを考えると一度は体験をしておくべきかなと思いました。

The catamaran was supposed to be stable, but it rocked quite a bit due to the high waves. They took great care of my daughter, applying some aromatherapy to help with her seasickness! Unfortunately, I didn't eat much because I was busy looking after her, but there were many delicious-looking dishes!

Perhaps the season has come to an end. I was on the boat for about an hour, but that was all. I also couldn't receive the reboarding ticket. Since it is valid only during the same season, I wouldn't have been able to use it anyway... In any case, I didn't do enough research on my part.
おそらくシーズンは終わってしまったのかもしれませんね。
1時間ほど船に揺られたということでそれ以上にはなりませんでした。
再乗船チケットも受け取れませんでした。
同一シーズン中有効とのことですので受け取っても使えませんでしたが・・・。

I boarded on March 23, 2017, but I didn't see any whales at all. Therefore, I received a re-boarding ticket valid until January 31, 2018. I plan to come back to Hawaii again before the expiration date! ♬

The experience was really great!
I made the reservation after arriving in Hawaii, and our seats were right in front of the stage. ♥
My husband loved the lobster and was captivated by the hula dancer. Haha!
(I was captivated too, haha!)
However...
It might have been because the weather got quite rough, but the boat was rocking a lot. Haha!
I originally have a tendency to get seasick, but I foolishly thought, "A big boat should be fine..."
I ended up getting seasick anyway. Haha!
I couldn't eat much... (´・c_・`)
The show was really good, but when you're not feeling well, it definitely takes away from the fun. Haha!
If you think you might get seasick at all, please make sure to take motion sickness medication. Haha!

We participated as a family of nine. On our last night in Hawaii, we chose a sunset cruise dinner as a memorable experience. The course included steak and unlimited crab, and the crab was freshly boiled, making the food delicious. The staff were friendly and cheerful, adding to the fun atmosphere. The Hawaiian dance show was enjoyable, and in the end, we all joined in for a disco party, creating wonderful memories.
家族9名で参加しました。ハワイ滞在最後の夜、記念にサンセットクルーズディナーを選びました。ステーキと、カニ食べ放題コースでしたが、カニも茹でたてで料理は美味しかったです。
スタッフの人達もスマイルでフレドリーで、盛り上げてくれました。ハワイアンダンスショーも楽しくて、最後はみんなで、ディスコ大会になり、とてもいい思い出になりましたよ。

The food was delicious, the show was fun, and above all, the sunset over the ocean was magnificent, so I was very satisfied. However, I'm not good at participating as a guest and singing and dancing, so I found the end a bit tiring.
食事もおいしかったですし、ショ－も楽しくて、何よりも海に沈む夕陽が素晴らしくて、とても満足しました。ただ、ゲストも参加して歌い踊るというのは苦手なので、最後のほうは少ししんどかったです。

I guess the season is probably over.
I'm not sure if there was a reboarding coupon or not. I don't have it on hand, but since it's only valid during the same season, it wouldn't matter anyway.
I signed up because the price was cheap, but I didn't do enough research.

I was looking forward to the cruise, but unfortunately, no whales appeared. We participated in the morning cruise, but I later heard from locals that there is a relatively better chance of seeing them in the afternoon. Since our travel schedule was tight, we didn't need tickets for a re-boarding. The breakfast before departure was delicious.
期待して乗船したのですが、残念ながら鯨は現れませんでした。私達は午前のクルーズに参加しましたが、後から現地の方に聞いた話では比較的午後のほうが現れるチャンスがあるのだとか。。。。旅行のスケジュールがタイトだったので再乗船のチケットは不要でした。出発前の朝食はおいしかったです。

It seems to be a very popular tour, and the seating arrangement on the ship was quite cramped. I had a window seat, but the distance to the person next to me was close, making it hard to relax. The food was just average.
大人気のツアーのようで、船内もぎゅうぎゅうな席配置。窓側指定でしたが、隣との距離も近く、あまり落ち着けませんでした。料理も普通です。

Understanding the boats cannot come closer than 100 yards, outs seemed to stay 200-300 yards away. Unless you have a telephoto lens, just use your eyes and retain the memory because any other camera, including phones and GoPros, will just show the whales as a small blip.

My parents in their 70s participated (I had to act separately because I have children). The weather was nice, and it seems they had a wonderful cruise. They were able to see plenty of whales and got a close view of Diamond Head.
Since it's an early morning tour, it can be tough, but you can make good use of the afternoon, so I recommend the morning tour. Even my parents, who are in their 70s and have no English skills at all, enjoyed participating. If you're considering optional tours for a three-generation trip, definitely think about this tour. It will surely create wonderful memories.

I would highly recommend this tour. It was very fun, staff were all amazing and we got amazing photos and views of Honolulu. Great short trip (a few hours). We got to see a school of dolphins swimming along the boat which was also amazing.

The seats you are guided to when you board the ship are just for the initial explanation, so don't worry if your seat doesn't have a view of the sea. After the explanation, you can freely go out to the deck. Since the wind can be cold, I recommend bringing something to wear. I was able to see the whales jumping clearly. I also saw swimming sea turtles. Everything was explained in English.

It was great to see the humpback whales swimming right in front of us multiple times and to witness them spouting water. My children and my mother-in-law were also delighted.
Since it was a live event, I was worried about various risks such as weather and the possibility of not seeing the animals, but everything turned out perfectly. Additionally, making leis at the craft event, where the whole family created the same lei to take home, became a wonderful memory.
Next time, I would like to come with my own parents.
ザトウクジラの泳ぐ姿が何度も目の前で見られたり、潮を吹くのを見れ、子供も帯同した義母も喜んでもらえ、よかったです。
ナマモノなイベントだけに、天候リスク、動物が出てこないリスクなどをいろいろと心配しながらも、すべてがパーフェクトにでき、かつ民芸イベントでのレイ作りは、家族みんなで同じレイを作り、持って帰れ、良い思い出になりました。

The space was spacious and very comfortable. We were guided to a designated table on the first floor for a buffet dinner before departure. After the meal, we relaxed in the lounge on the second floor while enjoying a leisurely sunset cruise. Off the coast of Waikiki, we enjoyed taking photos on the deck. Although it was a new ship, it wasn't overcrowded, so we could relax elegantly.

I participated using The BUS without a shuttle service. We set sail while it was still light and enjoyed it until we could see the stars. I fully enjoyed both the sea and the sky.

I didn't have high expectations for the food, but it was delicious. The fireworks were beautiful, but what left the biggest impression on me was when a whale jumped right next to the boat. I enjoyed both the dinner cruise and whale watching.

I chose the buffet course. There were about 10 to 20 different types of dishes, and the steak was absolutely delicious. During the meal, we experienced a stunning sunset and enjoyed the incredible view from the boat. There was also a show during dinner, and everyone danced together. Although the seats were close to each other, I think it became a great memory.

The scenery, the Hawaiian dance show, and the sunset all made the whole family happy. However, due to the large crowd, the drinks were slow to arrive, and the course meals felt a bit rushed and lackluster. But despite that, we had such a wonderful time that it didn't really bother us. I would love to take my family back again.
景色、ハワイアンダンスのショー、サンセットどれも家族みんな喜んでいました。ただ、人が多いという事もあり、飲み物が遅かったり、コースの料理がぐだぐだしたり、やっつけ感が。。。でも、そんなことも気にならないぐらい素敵な時間を過ごせました。また家族を連れて行きたいです。

So Many Whales & So Much Fun!

We got so lucky, getting to see a few different pods of whales! The boat was about 50 feet away, so the views of the whales (including Waikiki and Diamond Head as the backdrop) were spectacular!
The lunch buffet was excellent. Plenty of yummy options to choose from.
After lunch, activities were set up - lei making, plus ukulele and hula lessons. The cruise was a great way to spend the day!
