There is a pickup service from the center of Waikiki, and it takes about 30 minutes to board. About 20 to 30 minutes after departure, we were able to see whales around the area with Diamond Head in front of us. They were small, but we could see them spouting water multiple times and jumping, making the time fly by.

The upper deck was great for taking pictures. We started off with a charcuterie board that had tasty cheeses and fruit. The second course included lobster over a beet salad with a nice puree. My only reservation was the meat which was overcooked in my opinion, but to be fair, I'm sure many people prefer a medium-well filet. Taking pictures in between courses was a huge plus and didn't make us feel confined to the table. Overall, I would recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a good time.

I participated in a five-star dinner cruise this time. Perhaps because it was a weekday (excluding Friday), the exclusive fifth-floor area was quite empty, but the interior of the ship was very luxurious, and having fewer people allowed for a more relaxed experience. The weather was nice, and the views of Diamond Head and the sunset from the ship were beautiful. Fortunately, the crew spotted a whale, which became a wonderful memory. With the five-star experience, there is a private deck, so it might be great for those who want to take photos leisurely from the ship.

今回5スターでディナークルーズに参加させて頂きました。平日だった為か(金曜を除く)4Fの5スター専用フロアはかなり空いていましたが、船内はとても豪華な作りで人が少なかった分かなりゆったりと過ごすことが出来ました。天候もよく、船内から見るダイヤモンドヘッドやサンセットはとても綺麗でした。運よくクジラを船員さんが見つけてくれて見れたのもとても良い思い出となりました。5スターだと専用デッキがあるので、船上から写真をゆったり撮りたい方には良いかもしれません。

コース料理の品数は少なめに感じましたが、ボリュームがあって味も美味しかったのでとても満足できました。また注文したカクテルもどれも美味しく見た目も良かったです。
スタッフの方々も感じがよく、とても良い旅の思い出となりました。

This was my fifth sunset dinner cruise on the Star of Honolulu, and no matter how many times I go, I always want to take it when I visit Honolulu. This time, I went with my grandchild, who was visiting Hawaii for the first time.

We were picked up before the scheduled time, which allowed us to smoothly get to the port and board the ship early, so we were able to sit at a very nice window-side seat.

Onboard, we first enjoyed a buffet of fruits and cheese. After that, we savored the course lobster and beef steak while watching the show. In between, we went out on the deck to enjoy the sunset and the views of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach, taking plenty of photos.

The show continued right up until just before disembarking, and we had a wonderful time. The singer was very talented, and I was captivated by their performance.

出発地には定刻前にお迎えが着てスムーズに港へ行き早く乗船出来たので

It was no one’s fault that the day we went was windy and they had to turn the boat around after they said “this is where most whales hang around.” We got to see a blow hole and one fluke which was fun but it was at the very end of our trip so we didn’t get to stay and watch the group of whales any further. The captain did delay our return 15 minutes to see the whale that we did see which was very nice! Overall, it was no one’s fault that the weather wasn’t the best but to me it felt like a waste of my time and money and I was disappointed in the end

Check-in is easy to find next to the anchored Star Honolulu. A large ship welcomes you with the captain as you board. After boarding, everyone waits in seats on the first floor and listens to an explanation from a whale expert for about 15 minutes after departure. If you are seated before departure, you can purchase drinks, snacks, and bagels for a fee. The food was amazing and service was amazing! 5 course meal was pretty filling. The hula show was awesome! They are amazing! You could barely tell you were on a boat. On the day we arrived in Hawaii, we checked into the hotel at 3 PM and had a tour pickup at 4:30 PM. We were able to enjoy ourselves without getting too tired, had meals, and watched a show. There was no jet lag either. On the way back, we were also taken back to the hotel, which was convenient. The salad was a bit bitter, which was a problem... In the first half of the cruise, no whales appeared, and I was starting to lose hope, but in the second half, we encountered whales multiple times, and it was an amazing experience to see them spouting water and even their tails.

I also used the shuttle bus service, but since various tour pickup buses arrive at the same time, I showed my voucher to the staff to confirm which bus was for my tour. I think it would be clearer if the Veltra logo was displayed.

The lobster was delicious, but everything else was not good. The steak, in particular, was rare and seemed like it hadn't been cooked on board. Moreover, even though it was served rare, the menu stated that consuming raw or undercooked meats increases the risk of foodborne illness, which made me question why they would serve it rare.

I made a reservation for Friday to see the Hilton fireworks, but during the fireworks, most passengers rushed to the land side, and despite reserving a window seat, we couldn't see anything. Additionally, people crowded to one side of the ship, causing it to tilt significantly, which was quite scary.

唯一よかったのは65イヤーズ・オブ・アロハの演出でめちゃくちゃテンションの高い演者がいて楽しめました。

花火目的でしたら陸地から見る方が確実だと思います。

費用対効果は残念ながら低かったです。

However, there was one concern. That was seasickness. The ship didn't sway much, and I was fine, but my wife got seasick and seemed to have little appetite during the first half and middle of dinner. 今回初めての参加でした。早朝からのコースで行きました。船はとても広く屋上等も上がることができ、海が一望できました。清潔でトイレなども付いておりとても良かったです。ツアーの前にスタッフからクジラについての説明やクジラが見えた際の方向の指示の説明等があったため助かりました。出航後は何回もクジラを見ることができ、Tail Slap（テールスラップ）も見ることができました。帰りも船の中でゲームのような形でスタッフの方からクイズがありとても楽しめました。スタッフの方は皆さん親切な方ばかりで、クジラが出た方向の指示を聞き逃してしまった時もクジラの出た方向に連れて行ってくれたりしました。とても楽しかったです。また行きたいと思います。

I joined the tour at the meeting point. I received a boarding sticker to place on my chest and boarded the ship. The boat was quite a large sightseeing vessel.

About five minutes after leaving the dock, we slowed down. I was able to see a baby whale. This was the closest I got to a whale, and I was able to take great photos with my 250mm lens.

After this, I saw whales spouting from a distance several times, but they only appeared small in the viewfinder. I didn't see any whales jumping, but I was very satisfied with the sense of openness.

This was my second time on the sunset dinner cruise. It was truly a wonderful show, no matter how many times I see it.

However, I had requested a surprise cake for my family's birthday, and unfortunately, the staff forgot to bring it out... (I understand they were busy).

In the end, they brought it out just as the cruise was ending, but we couldn't eat it and had to take it home. Given the high temperature, the cream melted, and it ended up being ruined. It became a memorable experience, but not in a good way.

It was a nice day with good weather.
I used the shuttle bus, and the driver, Chris, was very kind. The bus was large, clean, and comfortable to ride.
During the bus ride, we could watch a video explaining the ship and safety instructions in both English and Japanese.
The service from the cruise staff was also very good.

I participated in the tour on February 22. I added transportation to the departure, which allowed me to arrive at the boat without any confusion. Additionally, we were blessed with good weather and were able to see mother and baby whales faintly. Feeling the sea breeze, the view of Diamond Head and Honolulu from the boat was very lovely. The interior of the boat was spacious, allowing us to see Honolulu from various angles. On the return trip, I got off at the Waikiki Prince Hotel and was able to walk directly to Ala Moana Center. It was a very satisfying tour!

The day we boarded, the waves were incredible and the ship was rocking a lot. As I stared at the choppy sea, I started to feel seasick, haha. I was able to see the whale's tail and it spouting water. The dolphins also swam alongside us, which was quite a unique experience. The first mate provided a lot of explanations, and I became interested in the ecology of whales. However, it was really unfortunate how rough it was (though it's to be expected with nature). It was a large ship, but everyone was lying down on the sofa seats, making it quite a tough tour.

揺れる海面をじっと見ていると船酔いしました笑
鯨は尻尾と、潮を吹いているところが見れました。
イルカも並走してくれてなかなかできない経験でした。

We participated as a family this time. The food was very delicious. The staff couldn't speak much English, but they kindly helped us by putting together words. Since it was Friday, we were able to see the beautiful fireworks from the Hilton Hotel, which was great. After that, there was a climax show, and the hula dance was interesting, but the best part was when everyone on the boat sang and danced to the YMCA song together. I recommend joining this tour on a Friday. Just be careful as the boat sways a bit, so watch out for seasickness.

金曜日だったのでヒルトンホテルからの花火がすごくきれいで見れたのはよかったです。
そのあとにクライマックスショーがあり、フラダンスも面白かったのですが、最後YMCAの曲を船に乗っていた人みんなで熱唱し踊ったりしたのがすごくよかったです。
