My companion boarded for the first time. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the sunset due to the weather, but the live music, food, and the night view of Waikiki were wonderful and felt extraordinary. Since it was my first time in Hawaii, I wasn't very familiar with the area, but even though it was sunny, the weather at sea seemed to be quite bad. I signed up for the cruise after reading experiences that said the large ship wouldn't cause seasickness, but the wind was strong, the waves were high, and the ship rocked a lot, resulting in many people feeling seasick. We didn't see any whales at all...

I personally didn't get seasick, so my memory of the cruise ended up being just watching people getting seasick both inside the ship and on the deck. (I also thought it was a bit late for the crew to start handing out sick bags just before returning to port.) We were given re-boarding tickets, but they were only valid within the same season (until March of that year), which is quite a hurdle for Japanese tourists. It might be nice to have some kind of souvenir distribution if we didn't see any whales...

I do have a desire to see whales someday, but since I paid a decent amount and this was the experience I had, I think it's disappointing and I probably won't use this plan again.

再乗船チケットが配られましたが、同シーズン内(同年3月まで)しか有効でなく、日本人観光客にとってはハードルが高いです。クジラが見られなかった場合は記念品の配布などがあっても良いのでは…？

またいつかクジラを見てみたい気持ちはありますが、まぁまぁの金額を支払って、こんな感じだったので、残念ですがもうこのプランは利用しないだろうと思います。

This was my first whale watching experience. There were also small boat tours available, but I was glad to be on a larger boat since the waves were quite high. There were a few small boats around us, and they seemed to be having a tough time with the waves. I was able to see the whales blowing water from a distance. I participated in a whale watching tour in Hawaii aboard the Star of Honolulu. I was excited and thrilled as I boarded the ship. Since it was a large vessel, after exploring the interior, I headed to the deck with a view of the ocean. My friends and I gazed at the blue sea; although we didn't encounter any whales, we enjoyed the distant views of Diamond Head and the cityscape of Waikiki. There was no rocking, and the pleasant breeze made me feel refreshed.

I wanted to see a jumping whale, but since they are wild creatures, it can't be helped. The pineapple cake and tea were very delicious.

I have been visiting Hawaii once or twice a year, and this time, I finally managed to visit during the season when it's possible to see whales, even though it's the rainy season.

Honestly, the chances were fifty-fifty, but we were blessed with good weather, making for a decent cruising day. However, the whales were not making an appearance for quite some time, and I thought we might have missed out this time as I was just enjoying the beautiful views of Honolulu and Diamond Head.

Then, just like something out of a TV drama's ending, we had an incredible encounter. We saw spouts, double diving, and even dolphins joining the show—it was fantastic! My wife was so moved that she was inexplicably praying. 😆

During our second family trip to Hawaii, we were looking for activities that could be enjoyed by three generations in January and found whale watching, which we signed up for. We participated with my grandparents, who are over 60, and three children (ages 3, 1, and 0). On the day of the trip, the weather was nice, with no wind, and we departed on time. After boarding, we enjoyed self-service banana cake and coffee as a light snack.

About 15 minutes after departure, there was an announcement that we could go up to the rooftop (4th floor). The main way to get up there was by stairs, but there was also an elevator. I carried the 1-year-old and 0-year-old up to the rooftop, where we could see the hotels in Waikiki from a distance, and we spotted some boats enjoying marine activities in the morning.

After a while on the rooftop, there was an announcement indicating the direction of the whales, which was easy to understand even for those who don't speak much English. We were able to see a pod of about four whales for about an hour, and we also saw dolphins along the way. Since the sun was a bit strong on the rooftop, it might be better for the kids to wait in the shade until the whales are visible before moving around.

At first, we could see the whales from a distance, but later on, it seemed like the boat chased after them, allowing us to see them up close. 正直、上から見るより最初に座った1階のソファーから見る方が良く見えるし、そこから外に出て見る方が日陰でクジラを近くで見れます！
1階にはスタッフがいて、あっちに見える、こっちに見えると教えてもらえて最高です。
周りに何隻か他のツアーの船も見かけたのですが、結構揺れているのが見え、船に慣れていない方には厳しいかもしれません。
ダイヤモンドヘッドの正面？あたりまで行って折り返して帰って来たのですが、予定より少し早く11時20分ぐらいに帰港して下船もスムーズでした。クジラを発見できない場合はもう少し長くかかるのかもしれませんが、しっかり見れたので早かったのかもしれません。
全体的には大満足の半日を過ごせて、このアクティビティはおすすめです！
最後に駐車場はバリデーション（割引）がないので、30分3ドルで18ドルを支払いました。

We participated in a whale watching tour as a family of four. The size of the boat was large, it swayed little, and it was comfortable. The hospitality and the cake were delicious. However, it was a bit disappointing that we didn't see the whales we were hoping for.

But we were able to see Diamond Head and Aloha Tower from the sea, which can only be viewed from the land, and the vast ocean that stretched on endlessly provided breathtaking views that exceeded our expectations. Although we didn't see any whales, the stunning scenery we experienced more than made up for it.

I believe the various people from different countries who joined the tour were also satisfied. Since we participated from Japan, it’s difficult to visit again soon, but I look forward to joining again next time. Thank you very much.

船の規模も大きく揺れも少なく快適、おもてなしのケーキも美味しかったです。
ただ期待してた鯨が見れなかったのが少し残念です。
でも陸地からしか見れないダイアモンドヘッド、アロハタワーを海側から見れたり、ずっと続く広大な海海、期待以上の絶景の展開ばかりでした。鯨が見れなかったけれど、見られた絶景が十分カバーされていました。
一緒にツアーに参加していたいろいろな国々の方も満足されたと思います。
日本からの参加なので、すぐにまた訪れることは難しいですが、次に参加した時に楽しみにしたいと思います。

We were so disappointed with our Sunset Dinner Cruise this week.
Why oh why, when a company has it just right, do they get greedy and take away the finesse?
Having taken the steak & lobster package last year, we were so looking forward to repeating the experience - but it failed to live up to expectations.
The singer couldn't sing; we had to queue for our starter (only lettuce plated at the table; the lobster was not prepared, we were provided with lobster crackers and a pick (not what we were expecting, dressed in our best clothes); there was no finger bowl or wet wipe; our steaks were cold and the server came so infrequently we did not get to use two of our drinks vouchers.
Shame on you.

The banana cake served on board was delicious! There were paper captain hats and coloring pages available for the kids, which made our time on the ship enjoyable and meaningful. After setting sail in nice weather, we waited while enjoying pineapple banana cake and coffee as we approached the point. The crew provided explanations about whales, but it was disappointing that I couldn't understand the English. I was really looking forward to it because there was a guarantee that we would definitely see whales, but we hardly saw any. There were announcements that the tail had come up to the surface two or three times, but by the time we went to look, they had already disappeared. I didn't get to see the whales' large forms at all. I came all the way here in winter for this, so I was a bit disappointed.

This was my first time participating in a whale watching tour. I requested a hotel pickup, and the pickup location was at the Hyatt at 7:25 AM. We arrived at 7:10 AM. There were various tour buses coming and going, and starting around 7:20 AM, I began asking the drivers of the arriving buses if they were the one we were supposed to take.

The bus finally arrived at 7:35 AM, and I felt relieved. I informed an elderly couple who were also participating and we boarded the bus. However, we didn’t leave right away; it seemed the staff were waiting for other participants who hadn’t arrived yet. The missing participant showed up at 7:45 AM, and we finally departed. However, at two more pickup locations, we waited for additional participants, and we arrived at the port at 8:50 AM. I was impressed by the staff's dedication in waiting for everyone.

After that, we boarded the boat, but it seemed we were the last ones from the bus, as the other participants had already finished their snacks. I looked for an available seat and took a moment to relax, but I didn’t know where the snack area was. I then noticed that others from our bus had snacks, which helped me find out where the snack area was.

The staff at the snack area were very polite, and when I later asked about the restroom, they kindly explained in English so I could understand. We set sail shortly after, and the other participants began heading to the deck, so I hurried to grab a snack and followed them.

Once on the deck, I was amazed by the views of Waikiki, Diamond Head, and the vastness of the ocean. Just that alone made me feel glad I participated. Thanks to the hard work of the captain and crew, we were able to see whales a few times, even from a distance. I would definitely like to do this again.

7:35に当該バスが到着して、ほっとして、同じく参加される年配ご夫婦にも伝えてバスに乗り込みました、その後直ぐ出発しなくて、どうやらまだ来てないツアー参加者をスタッフが待っているようでした、7:45にその方が来て漸く出発しました、しかしその後の2か所のピックアップ場所で、来ない参加者を待ち、港に到着したのは8:50でした、スタッフの方の懸命に待つ姿に感銘しました
その後、船に乗船しましたが私達バス参加者が最後のようで、他の参加者は軽食を食べ終わっていました、空いている座る場所を探して、一息ついて軽食の場所が分からず、一緒のバス参加されるが軽食持っている事に気づいて、軽食の場所がわかりました
軽食場所のスタッフは丁寧に対応して下さり、その後にトイレの場所を聞いた時も丁寧に分かるように英語で説明して下さりました
その後直ぐ出航したので、他の参加者は、船のデッキへ向かい始めたので、急いで軽食頂いて後に続きました
デッキに上がるとワイキキの街並みやダイヤモンドヘッドや海の雄大さに感激しました
これだけでも参加して良かったと思いました
船長始め乗組員達の懸命な働きにより数度遠いながら鯨を見る事が出来ました
またリベンジしたいと思います
