I experienced the Five Star this time. Since it was my first trip to Hawaii and our honeymoon, I was really looking forward to the dinner on the boat. At first, I thought I might not need transportation and considered taking a bus or taxi, but since it was my first time in Hawaii and I was unsure about getting there on time, I decided to request the pickup plan from Waikiki at the last minute.

The meeting place was at a hotel in Waikiki, and there was a staff member in front of the hotel for check-in. You can show your voucher to check in. At that time, you receive a sticker, which you should place in a visible spot. This sticker serves as a ticket and is also needed for moving around on the boat. There are areas on the deck that are exclusive to Five Star, so having the sticker allows the staff to recognize you.

When we arrived at the port, the boat was docked just a short distance from the bus stop. After boarding the boat and taking the elevator to the deck, we took a photo with the captain. This photo is later offered for sale, so you can purchase it.

On the deck, there were welcome drinks and light snacks like crackers, allowing us to enjoy a luxurious atmosphere. The food was decent, but the cocktails were very delicious, especially the smoothie cocktail. It was also possible to take drinks out to the deck, where we could enjoy the night view and sunset while sipping our drinks.

The waitstaff were very kind, and although I got seasick due to the high waves that day, they quickly noticed and brought me a gentle drink as a courtesy.

It seems that high waves are not uncommon, so it's essential to bring motion sickness medication. Additionally, since it was a Friday, we were able to see fireworks from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, making for a perfect night. I highly recommend going on a Friday if possible.

Overall, I had a fantastic time on this cruise and truly enjoyed the evening. I would love to participate again if I have the chance.

集合場所はワイキキホテル内のホテルで、受付はホテル前に係員の方がおられるので、バウチャーを見せると受付をしていただけます。その際にシールをもらえるので、見えるところに貼っておきます。このシールがチケット代わりになり、船上での移動にも必要になります。船上のデッキは、ファイブスターのみ使用できる場所があるので、シールを貼っておくと係員の方もそれを見て判断していただけます。
港へ到着すると、バス停からすぐのところに船が停まっていました。船に乗りエレベーターで甲板まで上がり、船長と一緒に写真をとります。この写真は最後に例のごとく売りにまわってくれるので、購入することができます。
甲板ではウェルカムドリンクとクラッカーなどの軽食があり、リッチな気分を味わうことができました。食事はまずまずでしたが、カクテルはとてもおいしく、スムージーのカクテルは特に美味しかったです。飲み物を持ってデッキに出ることも可能なので、夜景や夕焼けを見ながらお酒を飲むことができました。
ウェイターの方もとても親切で、この日はとても波が高く船酔いをしてしまったのですが、すぐに気付いていただき、サービスで胃に優しい飲み物を持ってきていただきました。
波が高いのはこの日だけでは無いようなので、酔い止めは必携です。
また今回は金曜日だったので、ヒルトンハワイアンビレッジからの花火が見れて最高の夜でした。できれば金曜日に行くのがオススメです。
今回、最高のクルーズに参加でき、本当に楽しい夜でした。
機会があればまた参加したいです。

I requested a pickup from Waikiki. There were so many buses that I wasn't sure which one to take. I got on the bus and headed to the cruise. I chose the all-you-can-eat crab, but the meal was just okay. The sunset and the show were really great. It became a wonderful memory. There was a kind employee, and I wanted to give a tip, but I didn't know when to do it, so I ended up not giving one... The people in Hawaii are cheerful. I received a lot of energy from them. I think people of all ages can enjoy it. Thank you very much.

In late April 2015, I participated in the 3-star course. This was my first time boarding a ship at the request of my parents, who were visiting Hawaii for the first time.

Unfortunately, the weather was mostly cloudy that day, so we couldn't see the sunset, but it was fun to watch the dancers' powerful performance up close. The final show was longer than I expected, which was satisfying. The seats we were guided to were right in front of the stage, making it even more enjoyable. I imagine that if you were seated at a table further to the side on the same course, the perspective and experience would be quite different. That's just luck, though.

As for the meal, I have a dislike for meat, so I was able to request a fish substitute for the steak in advance, which was great. However, the fish that was served (grilled tuna?) wasn't really to my taste, so I felt bad for leaving it uneaten. My family members who had the steak said it was delicious. The lobster was served whole, and it was fun to eat it in such a grand way. It was tasty!

The clientele was mainly Japanese, along with some people from Korea and China, and a few from Western countries. I had heard that there was a casual dress code, but there were some guests in T-shirts, shorts, and flip-flops, which I found a bit questionable. Well, it can't be helped, but I wish they would check that a bit more.

While the price is somewhat high, I think it's worth experiencing at least once. My parents enjoyed it, so I was glad. Thank you to all the crew members!

終盤のショーは思ったより長くやってくれて満足です。
今回、案内して頂いたお席もステージの前だったのでより、楽しめました。
同じコースでも端の方のテーブルになるとまた見方や感じ方も違ってくるのでしょうね。こればかりは運ですが。

食事は、私はお肉が苦手なので、事前にお願いしてステーキをお魚に変更してもらえてのも良かったです。
ただ出てきたお魚（マグロのグリル？）もあまり好みでなかったので、残してしまって申し訳なかったです。
ステーキを食べた家族は、美味しかったと言っていました。
ロブスターは丸まる一匹出てきて、豪快に食べれたのは面白かったです。美味しかったです！

客層は主に日本人とあと韓国、中国の方、少し欧米の方でした。
服装も一応カジュアルドレスコードとお伺いしていたのですが、Tシャツに短パン、ビーチサンダルの方もいて、ちょっとどうかと思いました。
まぁしょうがないのでしょうが、そこはもう少しチェックして欲しいですね。

そこそこお値段も張りますが、一度は乗船する価値はあると思います。
両親も楽しんでくれたので、良かったです。

This was my first time participating in a Hawaii tour. I usually plan my own trips, focusing on the places I want to see and visit, so I haven't participated in many local tours. However, this time, since I was traveling with my wife after several years, I thought it would be nice to join a tour that we could both enjoy as a memory. The content of the tour was great, and I was able to have conversations with people from various countries, which made for a fun time. The only downside was that one of the meals was not very good. The meal was, to be honest, nothing special. That said, since I chose the inexpensive "all-you-can-eat buffet" course, I won't complain (but why are the vegetables in Hawaii so delicious?).
This course is in an area called "Lounge 1," which is the bow section without a deck, but because there is no deck, you can see the sunset and the fireworks (held on Fridays at Hilton) from the window without going outside. In other areas, if people go out onto the deck, you can't see anything from your seat. By the way, both the sunset and fireworks can be seen well from the right side facing the bow. However, the seats are assigned by the waiter.
Since Lounge 1 has a limited number of seats, there are only a few performers for live music and dance, but I was impressed by the efforts to keep things interesting, such as waiters suddenly starting to dance or audience participation dances.
Putting the meal aside, it was fun.

　このコースは「ラウンジ１」と云う船首部分のデッキの無いエリアなのですが、デッキが無い分、夕日や(金曜日に開催されるHilltonの)花火が外に出なくても窓から見ることができます。他のエリアは、デッキに人が出てしまうと席に座っていては何も見えません。因みに、夕日も花火も、船首に向けて右サイドが良く見られます。しかし席はウェイターに指定されちゃいますけどね。
　ラウンジ１は客席が少数の為、生演奏やダンスなどのパフォーマンス担当も数人ですが、いきなりウェイターが踊り出したり客参加のダンスが始まったりと、飽きさせない工夫がされていて感心しました。
　食事はともかく、楽しかったですよ。
　次回はグループで参加したいですね。

I attended with my 84-year-old mother, who uses a cane, and my husband. The five-star experience allowed us to enjoy a calm and delicious dinner, and even when we went out onto the deck, it wasn't crowded. We were able to fully enjoy the sunset and fireworks, even with my elderly mother. I was very pleased with the thoughtful gesture of reserving the front seat for my mother on the return shuttle bus, even though we were the last to board.

It's my 3rd time with Star of Honolulu and they never fail to amaze me!
I was greeted with a beautiful smile by Kathleen at the ticket office. She was very nice, friendly, and it seems like she was enjoying her job. Before we boarded, the dancers are always very entertaining, a unique way to welcome their guests (yes, I've been to other dinner cruises and only Star of Honolulu has this great idea).
At the boat, here comes the cheerful and very energetic Freddie, who took us to our table. He didn't realize there were eight (8) of us but he was able to accommodate us right away having our own table by the window! He is the Assistant Floor Manager and I was really impressed with his friendliness and bright personality, he is funny too! The couples that we were with are visitors from Canada, celebrating their Silver Wedding Anniversary. I forgot to mention this special occasion when I made the booking so I told Freddie if there’s a way he can announce it after dinner. Knowing how busy they were, I never expected it to happen but I was extremely happy and grateful that he didn't forget. After the Polynesian entertainment, he immediately pulled my couple family towards the stage to make their dance. All the other couples, honeymooners, anniversary celebrants, followed. It was an honor!! Thank you so much Freddie for that, it was a memory of a lifetime for my family.
I would also like to give credit to Jay, who was our server that night, in fact all the crew members because they know how to take care of their guests, they're fast and attentive! The One Star package is not bad at all, I actually like this better than the Three Star believe it or not and IT'S ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB LEGS!! Yummy! The steak was delicious also, so tender and juicy!
Will definitely cruise with Star of Honolu again and again! True "Aloha" spirit..good impression for those visiting the islands for the first time...greatly satisfied with the services they offer. Thumbs up SOH!!

This time, our table attendant was a young man named Tyler, and I was impressed by his hard work.

I was picked up from Waikiki and had a transfer plan to Aloha Tower, and boarding the Star of Honolulu was nice, but the salad, bread, and steak were overcooked, and although there was an all-you-can-eat crab option, it was just okay. The pace was disappointing, as we were told to eat before sunset. However, the sunset from the deck was incredibly beautiful. After that, we waited a long time for the Hilton fireworks, and I was moved by both the fireworks and the view of Waikiki from the sea. There was no need to pay extra for guaranteed window seats! I recommend avoiding the upgrade for guaranteed window seats.

ワイキキからのピックアップで、アロハタワーまでの送迎付きプランで、スターオブホノルル号に乗り込んだのはいいけど。サラダとパン、ステーキはかなり焼き過ぎ、カニも食べ放題なんだけど、イマイチ。サンセットまでに食べろ～と言わん限りのペースでがっかり。その後デッキの出て、サンセットはすごく綺麗だった～。あとは、ヒルトンの花火をかなりの時間待ち続け、花火もワイキキの街並みも海からの景色に感動はしましたが、窓際のお席確約で、余分な費用を払う必要はまったくなし！窓際席確約プラスは、やめた方がいいです。

I made a reservation for a luxurious 5-star dinner (7-course French) by the window to enjoy my last night in Honolulu. When the third course, a salad, was served, water started dripping from the air conditioning above. I called the waitress, but she tried to leave the salad there, so I asked for the manager. We moved to another table, and they offered us a complimentary bottle of wine, but it was the worst dinner cruise I’ve ever experienced. Unfortunately, we also couldn’t see the sunset. The show and the meal were good, but I have no desire to go on this cruise again.

We participated as a family. I think more than half of the guests were Japanese. After we set sail for a while, the captain stopped in an area where whales might be and made announcements in English about which direction they were located. Everyone then rushed over to that side, straining their eyes and holding their breath, staring at the sea. (That silent moment felt strange.)

In my case, there were about 5 or 6 instances like that, but I hardly saw anything. (The photo was taken with a super telephoto lens.) Even if a whale spouted water occasionally, it was hard to tell where it would appear in the vast ocean, and most of the time it was either very far away or a fleeting moment that I missed. No matter how brief or distant it was, if a whale appeared, it would count as an "encounter," so it seems we wouldn't receive a free ticket for the next time.

However, it really seems to be a matter of luck. A lady I met on the boat said that the last time she went, a whale came very close, and it was an impressive sight!

I participated in the buffet plan with a friend. Due to the limited space, we had to go outside to get our food, which I thought was a bit inconvenient. The taste was quite average... but the dessert cookies were delicious. Since we participated on a Friday, we were able to see the fireworks from Hilton Hawaiian Village, but the outside and rooftop areas were quite crowded, so we watched from inside through the glass. It was still beautiful. The staff members were kind and attentive, responding well to requests from guests, such as when a table was wobbling.

After the fireworks and finishing our meal, the Hawaiian dance show began. I was captivated by the men's muscles (laughs), and there were also dance lessons, which made it enjoyable to watch. スタッフの方々は親切で、色々と声を掛けてくれたり、テーブルがガタガタするというお客さんからの要望にもしっかり対応していました。
花火も終わり、食事も済んでくると、ハワイアンダンスショーが始まります。
男性の筋肉にみとれつつ（笑）、ダンスレッスンなどもあって見ていて楽しかったです。
そして、クライマックスは参加者全員でダンスダンスダンス！！
スタッフの方も混じって輪になって踊り、振り付けもなんだかユニークでおもしろかったです。
ほんとにお祭り騒ぎ的な、「今日は何しに来たんだっけ？」みたいな感じでした（笑）
参加者に日本人も多くいましたが、みんな楽しんで踊っていました。
普段あんなにバカ騒ぎしないので、私はすごく楽しかったです。
想像していたサンセットディナークルーズとは一味違いました。

It was the right choice to select the largest boat in Hawaii since our family is prone to seasickness. There was absolutely no rocking, so we had no worries about seasickness and thoroughly enjoyed the lunch buffet. While eating lunch, we were able to see many humpback whales spouting, dorsal fins, and tail fins, which got the kids really excited. Onboard, we made leis using orchids that were sized to be worn on our heads, and my daughter had the opportunity to present in front of everyone after taking a hula dance lesson, which made her very happy. The men who took the ukulele lesson also had a performance, and the host sang famous songs from the area where the American guests were from, playing the ukulele and really engaging the guests onboard. 日本人に対しては、ウクレレで「上を向いて歩こう」をウクレレで弾きながら唄い、本当に楽しかったです。

I participated in the tour on April 11. I opted for the shuttle service, but there was only one other group besides my child and me. The bus driver was very pleasant and made sure to check if the air conditioning was too cold for us. The tour guide was also very nice.

注意深く海面を見ていないと見逃してしまいそうな程でしたので、写真で見る大ジャンプ等を期待して行くとがっかりします。
でも海上から大型クルーズ船やワイキキ、ダイアモンドヘッドを見れたのは良かったです。
沖に出ると風が強く、大きく揺れる場面もあったので、乗り物酔いする方はあらかじめ薬を飲んでおいた方がよいかもしれません。
帰りはドライバーさんにお願いして、ワイキキのホテルではなく、港近くのワードショッピングセンターで降ろしてもらいましたので、移動時間を短縮する事ができ、良かったです。

Since it's nature, I prepared myself for the possibility that I might not see any whales (but deep down, I really wanted to). The weather was nice, so I thought just seeing the hotels in Waikiki from the ocean would be a good experience. However, I did get to see the whales! (I’m not sure how low my expectations were, but it felt like I encountered more than I had anticipated. Once they started appearing, they were quite visible almost continuously.) I didn’t get to see the dynamic jumps like in the tour's promotional photos, but I did see them spouting water, and I enjoyed watching what seemed to be a mother and calf taking breaths in succession multiple times.

I think taking photos is quite challenging. By the time you think, "There it is," they dive back down, so with a smartphone camera, by the time you press the shutter, it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll only capture waves (laughs). My mother was using a compact camera, but when I looked at the photos later, it was like, "Hmm?? Where??" Unless you have the right skills and a camera (with zoom and continuous shooting), I recommend just imprinting the experience in your memory.

I didn’t fully understand what "English guide" meant, and I was actually a bit anxious, but I think it probably means that the guide who assists during pickup will only speak English. ＜英語ガイド＞というのがよく理解できていなくて、実は内心不安でしたがおそらく送迎時に対応してくれるガイドの方が英語しか話せませんよという意味でしょうか。
受付の時に自分の（申込者）名前さえ言えれば問題ないようです。
名前のチェックが済むと乗車券がわりのシールを渡されました。
シェラトンで乗合の大型バス（観光バスのようなもの）に乗ったのですが、乗車後に車内のビデオで日本語の案内が流れます。
乗船してから船長やガイドの方があいさつや案内があります。これはすべて英語です。
今からどれくらい移動するとか、何時ごろランチが始まるとか、クジラが見える方向はガイドが教えますとか、そういったことを説明しているようです。
一通り説明が終わると日本語で録音されたアナウンスが流れます。

肝心のクジラが見えだしてからのアナウンスも英語ですが、一緒に乗船している他の方が一斉にその方向を見ますので、英語が聞き取れなくても大丈夫でした。

足の悪い祖母を連れて行きましたが、３階の展望デッキに出なくとも、室内からでも十分クジラの姿（潮を吹く様）を見ることができました。

１１歳の息子は興奮しっぱなしで、食事をするのも忘れるほどでした。
食事なしでもよかったかもと思うくらい。

陸に戻る時間になると、船内で体験プログラムが始まります。
レイ作り体験を体験しましたが、とてもいい経験になりました。
フラ教室ではチビッコフラガールたちが一生懸命踊っていました。
ウクレレ教室はお父様方に人気のようで、最後にチビフラガールたちとコラボでミニーショータイム状態になって盛り上がり参加していない他の乗客たちも一緒に楽しめました。

水族館では見ることができないザトウクジラに会える（かもしれない）ツアー、
是非参加されると良いでしょう。

We really enjoyed the Early bird cruise with breakfast - so much so that we did it the next day too! We didn't see whales the first day and only had a few days left of our trip so used the whale check the next day and had just as good a time. The food was fine, the staff knowledgable and there were plenty of great spots to be on the boat. I enjoyed being right up the top - great view, warm from the engine vents and speakers so I could hear the commentary.
