Excellent adventure, was disappointed one of the family members had a fear of water that could not be overcome. The snorkeling was fantastic and the owner knew all the great places to go and see aquatic life. WIsh there would have been some sort of refund for the one member who could not get out in the water.

This was the most fun my girlfriend and I had. The water was a little murky the day we went out there, but you could definitly see all sorts of fish out there. It was our first time snorkling and our guide was excellent and stayed with us and continuously made sure we were all ok! He even showed us out where there were 2 huge sea turtles. We can't wait to go back!

It was my first time snorkeling, but I was able to enjoy it with peace of mind because our guides, Alan and Jim, kindly and patiently taught us in Japanese. I was lucky enough to see a sea turtle, which was an amazing experience. This became my best memory of the trip! Thank you, Alan!

We were able to see a variety of fish and sea turtles, and my child was very satisfied. The guide took us quite far out, which would have been impossible to do on our own. They even helped pull me along with my 9-year-old child. The waves were strong, and I felt a bit seasick, but it was fun.

This wa our first trip to Hawaii and first time snorkeling. We loved it! The guide knew all the spots and lead us was patient to the beautiful fish and sea turtles. We couldn't have asked for a better time. A definite must do. I would have loved to have spent more time snorkeling, but our tour was up. 5 Stars!

Since I'm going to Hawaii, I wanted to go snorkeling! Since it was my first time snorkeling, I thought it would be best to have a guide, so my family of three joined this tour, even though the price was a bit high.

My first choice was in the morning, but since I signed up at the last minute, we ended up going in the afternoon. First, we were picked up right in front of our hotel by our instructor, Alan. We headed to Hanauma Bay with another group of six.

When we arrived at the entrance of Hanauma Bay, we met up with a newlywed American couple, and Alan collected the entrance fee of $5 for those over 12 years old and paid it all at once. While we watched a nine-minute movie, he prepared everything in front of the trolley that goes down the slope, allowing us to smoothly access the sandy beach.

Since there were a lot of people this time, Alan assigned the newlyweds to one instructor, while Kiko and Aki, both Japanese instructors, took care of us Japanese participants.

They provided all the necessary equipment, including life jackets, mats, and a place to store valuables (you could also put in clothes and towels), and they even had water and some snacks ready.

The others were very skilled (sorry for being a bother), and I, who had no confidence in swimming, honestly thought during practice, "Should I just wait on the beach?" But Kiko encouraged me, saying, "Come on, put your head in the water!!" and patiently taught me how to use the fins, even holding my hand to help me see a lot of fish! I'm glad I didn't give up!!

I actually considered a tour from a major travel company that was about the same price, but they mentioned that the instructors wouldn't manage valuables or guide us. To go far and to be shown viewpoints, having a guide is definitely better.

One regret I have is that I didn't bring my camera to prevent theft. I heard that in summer, the water tends to get murky, making it hard to take good underwater photos, but I wanted to take a commemorative photo with the beautiful bay in the background. Since there was a place to store valuables, I should have brought it.

ライフジャケットを含め用具＆ゴザ＆貴重品入れ（着替え，タオルなども入れるのも可）もしっかり用意されていて，水とちょっとしたお菓子も用意されていました。

他の方達はとても上手で（ご迷惑かけてすみません），泳ぎに全然自信がない私は，うまく息継ぎができなくて練習の時に「浜で待っていようか」と正直思いましたが，キコさんに「ほらっ頭つけて！！」と叱咤されてがんばり，うまくフィンが使えない私に根気よく教えてくれたり，手を引いてくれたりして魚をたくさん見ることができました！あきらめなくてよかった！！

とビューポイントを教えてくれて，ウミガメも見ることができました。

約１時間でしたが，冷え性の私には十分な時間。トロリーの発着場の上からアキさんにどこまで泳いだか教えてもらったら，かなり遠くまででびっくり。Alanさんは，「今日はみんなうまかったネ。だから遠くへ行けたよ。（もちろん日本語で）」と言ってくれました。

実際に某大手旅行会社の同じぐらいの値段のツアーも検討しましたが，インストラクターは貴重品の管理もガイドもしてくれないとのこと。遠くまで行ったり，ビューポイントを教えてもらうには，絶対ガイド付きがいいです。

I participated with my child in late August 2008. It was clear that they were considerate in their conversations during the car ride.

We met up with two more participants along the way, making a total of four of us heading to Hanauma Bay. After watching a video about Hanauma Bay, we took a trolley down. At the beach, we received equipment instructions, put on life jackets, and stepped into the slightly cold water. We practiced in shallower areas after a preliminary lecture. I already felt a bit out of place at this point. I held onto someone’s hand as we headed out.

There they were! Fish were swimming around normally, including some large ones over 50 centimeters long.

Unfortunately, we didn’t encounter any turtles, but it was clear they were trying hard to find them. With the underwater camera I brought, they actively took pictures of us and the fish.

You can manage valuables and changes of clothes in a large locked case. They even let me put in the slippers I wore. Mats and equipment are all available for rent. We received water and snacks at the end.

You can change clothes easily afterward, so I think it’s a good idea to bring some.

As a note, my underwater goggles didn’t seem to fit well, and water kept getting in, making me accidentally drink saltwater, which was quite uncomfortable. While all equipment is available for rent, it might be better to bring your own if you have something that fits perfectly.

We swam quite far out for about an hour. The water was pretty cold, and I was shivering afterward. A bath towel and a long-sleeved cover-up are essential.

For those who really want to see turtles, a tour to the North Shore might be better. We encountered turtles on the beach two days later on a different tour.

That said, for beginners, this tour offers hands-on guidance from start to finish, so I think it would be fun to go with friends.

　注意点として、私の水中メガネがどうも合わなかったようで、水がよく入って塩水を飲んでしまったりして、途中とっても苦しくなりました。　
　用具は全て貸してはもらえますが、自分にぴったりのがあれば、それを持って行ったほうがいいのかもしれません。

　かなり沖へ向かい、一時間ほど泳ぎます。
　水もかなり冷たいので、あがってからは震えが出るほどでした。
　バスタオルや長そでの羽織るものは必須です。

　「どうしてもカメを見たい」という人は、ノースショアに行くのツアーのほうがいいかもしれません。
　私たちは二日後に、別のツアーで、砂浜に上がっているカメに出会うことができました。

　とはいえ、初心者の人は、手取り足取り教えてもらえるし、最初から最後まで安心して過ごせるツアーなので、友達同士で行くと、楽しいと思いますよ。

This is a very beautiful spot, lovely beach. I have been snorkling many times before including the Great Barrier Reef but have never done a guided tour. It was great to have a guide because he took us to places we would never have gone without him and saw much more. He new where all the hiding spots were. We participated as a family. I had heard about the beauty of Hanauma Bay from friends, but it was beyond my imagination! Our guide, Alan, was very kind and escorted us, allowing us to see various fish, which made the kids very happy. Large fish swam right in front of us, and although I couldn't identify the names, schools of fish swam by, making even the adults excited! I was hoping to swim with turtles, but I learned that they appear during high tide, and since we participated in the AM (low tide) tour, we couldn't see any. I definitely recommend joining the PM (high tide) tour for those who want to swim with turtles! However, the AM tour has fewer people, allowing for a more relaxed experience to enjoy the beautiful sea and fish, so I recommend it for those who want to take it easy.

I was a bit nervous about snorkeling for the first time, but thanks to the careful instruction, I was able to see some cute fish. Since we were two women participating, I think we wouldn't have been able to snorkel if it was just for equipment rental... it was great to have a guide.

The tour included various amenities like bus rides, water, snacks, and mats, so it felt very comprehensive. With a guide included, I think the price is reasonable. It's different from cheaper tours.

It was a pity that we couldn't see any sea turtles (it depends on luck) and that the time was short (I might have reached my physical limit), but the guide was really wonderful!

Having a guide was really nice since this was my first time ever snorkeling. Alan taught us the basics and provided us with equipment needed. It was great seeing all the colorful fish. One downfall (which wasn't anyone's fault) was that the water was really rough the day we went, so the experience was cut short since we couldn't go out as far as planned.
Would recommend to first-time snorkelers!

Good for first timers

My boyfriend and I went on the Hanauma Bay snorkling adventure. It was great to see the area and we did see a lot of fish but the activity was a little slow and boring for us (we had both snorkled before) I recommend this activity for first timers or those with children. We did enjoy it but not as much as we would have if it was a little more exciting or faster paced. The guide was nice and very friendly but not very informative about what we saw.

Aloha!!

I've been to Oahu several times, but I hadn't been able to visit Hanauma Bay due to the inconvenience of access. However, this time I used a tour to make the most of my limited time.

Since it was a guided tour, we were able to safely go quite far out, and I got to see sea turtles and sharks up close.

I recommend the expert-guided tour for first-timers!

I participated on the afternoon of January 4, 2008 (Friday). It was just the two of us and Alan, heading out to the sea. At first, I was really anxious because it was my first time snorkeling and I wasn't confident in my swimming skills. However, Alan held my hand the whole time, allowing me to fully enjoy the underwater world. I was able to see places that I definitely wouldn't have gone to alone, with significant depth and strong waves. Thank you, Alan!! When I come back to Hawaii, I would like to request Alan again.

Our guide, Alan, was wonderful. This was my first time snorkeling and I was a little (ok, a lot!) nervous. Alan literally guided me by the arm and made sure I was ok the whole time. I participated in this tour again this year, following last year. This year, it was just my spouse and me, but the experience was even richer than last year. First, we got very close to the turtles (but don't touch them!), swimming slowly together. After that, we encountered some hidden treasures like the red snapper, then changed locations to find seals lounging on the rocks. We dove again and got surrounded by a school of fish. As expected from the experts, they know all the best spots.

They provide all the equipment, and they also lend you life jackets (which help you float and observe slowly, and they protect your chest in relatively shallow areas). It may seem more expensive than other tours, but the service is perfect and absolutely worth it.

Not being an experienced snorkler, it was great having Alan as our guide. He took us the good locations and was very helpful the entire time. We saw hundreds of fish, a sea turtle and the scenery was just beautiful.

I participated in the tour on the afternoon of September 24 with a friend. The only other participants were a couple from abroad. My first visit to Hanauma Bay was beautiful and moving! It was also my first time snorkeling, and I was quite anxious (the other three were experienced), but our guide Alan explained everything in fluent Japanese, which made me feel a bit more at ease. After a little practice, we headed out to the deeper water... At first, I struggled to breathe and panicked while half drowning, but Alan held my hand the whole time, so I felt safe even when my feet couldn't touch the bottom. Gradually, I got used to it, and when I looked around, I saw so many beautiful fish swimming! I even got to see a sea turtle, and I was extremely satisfied! 最初は呼吸がうまくできず半分溺れながらパニックでしたがアランさんがずっと手をひいてくれたので足がつかなくても安心でしたよ。
だんだん慣れてきて周りを見てみるとキレイな魚がたくさん泳いでいます！
海がめにも会えたし大大大満足でした！
ずっと泳ぎっぱなしなので少し疲れますがとても楽しかったです
またハワイに行った時は参加したいと思います

It was a very enjoyable tour. The guide was very proficient in Japanese, so I didn't feel too anxious about my first snorkeling experience. Also, since it was a small group tour, I think it was great for enjoying communication with other participants. We were with a couple from New York, USA, and there were a total of four of us, but we had fun chatting even with our limited English.

As for snorkeling, I was able to see many fish up close. I even saw a very large fish swimming right in front of me. There were also sea turtles! They picked us up at the hotel at 7:30 in the morning, so waking up early was a bit tough, but it might be better to go to Hanauma Bay in the morning after waking up early. This is because by the time we finished and were leaving, there was a long line of cars in the parking lot.

Also, don't forget to inform them of your shoe size when you sign up! I forgot, so the fins were a bit too big for me, and one came off while I was in the water. The guide quickly picked it up for me, though.

It was an option tour that exceeded my expectations. I'm glad I signed up. I bought snorkeling shoes from Japan just in case, but they provided shoes as well, and they lent us mats and had life jackets available. I brought a waterproof case for my valuables, but Alan let me put my belongings in a large case he brought, so I didn't need the waterproof case. They also provided mineral water and snacks, so I only needed to bring a bath towel; everything was prepared for us. I dislike getting sunburned, so I brought a rash guard, which helped me avoid burning my shoulders. As a beginner, I was worried about whether I could snorkel, but they taught me patiently, and I was able to breathe well and clear water from my nose without panicking, which surprised me. The reason I, who have poor athletic ability, was able to snorkel for the first time was that Alan held my hand and guided me the whole time! I felt very safe swimming. Thank you so much. 期待以上のオプションツアーでした。申し込んで良かったです。シュノーケリングのシューズを念のため日本から買って着たけど、ちゃんとシューズも付いてました、ゴザも貸してくれて、ライフジャケットありました、貴重品を入れる為防水ケースも持ってきたけど、アランさんが持ってきた大きなケースに荷物を入れさせてくれたから、防水ケースも必要無しでした、ミネラルウォーターとスナックもあり、バスタオルだけ持って行けば良いほど、全て用意してくれていました、　私は焼けるのが嫌なのでラッシュガードを持って来ました、お陰で肩が焼けずにすんでよかった。初心者なのでシュノーケリング出来るか心配でしたが、丁寧教えてくれて、上手に息継ぎが出来、鼻の水抜きも慌て無く上手に出来自分でもビックリです、どうして運動神経が悪い私が初めてからシュノーケリングが出来たのはアランさんが初めてから最後までずうと私の手を引っ張って泳いでくれたからです！！とても安心して泳げました♪本当にありがとうございました。他より高めの値段ですが、値段以上の体験出来ました。海ガメも泳ぎ初めてすぐ見れ魚も沢山いて今みてる景色が綺麗でまるでビデオでも見てるような気がしたほどです♪

This was my husband and I first time in Hawaii and our 1st activity was snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. Our guided snorkel tour, Allyn was very helpful and he brought snacks and drinks for us that was well needed for this activity. Equipments were provided. The snorkeling was awesome; we were taken to about 8 feet or more of water and had a chance to swim with the fishes. Hanauma Bay is beautiful but with this hands-on experience, we both learned to appreciate it. There were tons of fishes out there as we were snorkeling and we also had a chance to get very close to the corals. Overall, my husband and I enjoyed this very much. Thank you so much.

We participated as a group of ten across three generations. I was impressed by how well the beautiful environment was maintained! After a thorough training session, we all started snorkeling together. At first, my grandchildren struggled a bit, but the guides divided up and coached them. I was moved by how many beautiful fish were swimming nearby. The sight of tropical fish, large parrotfish, and many different sizes and types of fish swimming so close that they seemed to touch my body felt like a different world. I want to go again! Everyone in the group was singing, "I want to go again! I want to go! I want to go!" The coaches and guides were very kind. Thank you very much.

丁寧なトレイニングの後、みんなでシュノーケリングのスタート。
はじめは、孫たちがうまく対応できなかったが、ガイドの皆さんが手分けしてコーチしてくれました。
身近に、綺麗なお魚が沢山泳いでおり感動しました。
熱帯魚のような魚や、大きなブダイや沢山の種類の大小の魚が体に触れそうな近くに、泳いでいるさまは別世界を感じます。

The dreamlike Hanauma Bay that I had seen in books.
First, I was amazed by its beauty from above! The blue of the sea was different from Japan.
The staff member, Alan, spoke Japanese well and provided thorough explanations.
While observing many fish and coral reefs, we went to a recommended spot by the expert, and there, a sea turtle was swimming!!
It was a small turtle, but very cute, and I was able to swim alongside it.
Alan took us to a deeper area where others didn't go, allowing us to enjoy a different snorkeling experience.
