In February, I really wanted to visit Hanauma Bay, so I searched the web and found this transportation plan from VELTRA. It was cheaper compared to other sites and had good reviews, so I booked it right away. The reservation form was easy to understand, and they sent plenty of reminder emails after the booking, which was very helpful.

I wished for sunny weather the whole time, and finally, the day arrived! I was picked up at 8 AM in the alley behind the Hyatt. The bus arrived a little late, possibly due to traffic, which made me a bit worried, but the large green bus with "Roberts Hawaii" written on it was easy to spot, so I felt reassured. 朝は8時にHyatt裏路地でピックアップ。
道路渋滞のせいか、バスが少し遅れて到着したので若干心配でしたが、「Roberts Hawaii」と書かれた大きな緑のバスがわかりやすくやってくるので安心。
バスの中で10分程度のビデオを観て、視聴認証のリストバンドを渡されハナウマベイに入場する仕組みです。
バスの運転手さんが周りの景色についてずーーっと説明してくれるからまったく飽きず、楽しい！！
30分強程度でハナウマベイに到着。
ハナウマベイを公式から予約した方々は入場のための長蛇の列に並ばなければいけないようでしたが、私たちはビデオも視聴済なのでそのまま列をスルー！
ストレスなしで入場できます。

ハナウマベイは写真で見た通りとーっても綺麗で真っ青で、色とりどりの魚も沢山泳いでおりまるで楽園でした！！
入場人数が1400人と限られているので混雑もなし。

最高でした。
またぜひこちらのサイトから予約したいです！

If you're looking to enjoy snorkeling in Hawaii, I recommend this sea! The weather was cloudy, so I couldn't see the true blue of the ocean, but there were plenty of fish swimming around, which was a lot of fun. There is a dedicated shuttle car from the high point down to the beach, making it very convenient, although it might take some time to board if it's crowded. The beach in front of the hotel was also beautiful, but there weren't any fish swimming there, so I think it's worth coming here!

I wanted to go snorkeling in Hawaii, so I joined this tour. It was great that we could watch a video on the bus, allowing us to smoothly enter without waiting once we arrived. If you're traveling alone and find it difficult to make reservations, or if you won't be using a rental car during your stay, I recommend participating in this tour. There were Japanese staff members at the meeting point and after we arrived at the location, so I think it's easy for those who are not confident in their English to join. The snorkeling was wonderful, and I was able to enjoy the very clear ocean. There were many fish among the coral reefs on the left side!

当日は自分を含め二組の計3名参加でシュノーケリングは2名で行いました。
ウエットスーツを借りる予定はなかったのですが、インストラクターのちえこさんも冬用のウエットスーツを着用すると言っていたので急遽借りましたが借りていなければ寒さでリタイアしていた可能性もあったので特に冬は最初から借りておくと良いと思います。
また、ハナウマ湾のシュノーケリングのツアーは複数あると思いますが自分がこのツアーに参加するか迷った点が水中写真のデータがもらえるか分からなかった点です。
口コミにはフェイスブックでダウンロードできたと書いていたので恐る恐る参加したらあとでアップしてくれていました。
携帯はほかの方も記載していますが水中ではボタンを押せません。自分はGoProで撮影できましたが、携帯で写真を撮るには画面上ではなくサイドボタンでシャッター切る設定などに変更しない限り無理なのでそれが無理なら最初からあきらめ実際の光景を堪能すると良いと思います。また、魚やウミガメは当たり前ですが動くため動画が一番楽です。
案内にはありませんでしたが水に浮いたタイミングや携帯だけ海から出し動画の録画ボタンを押し水中に戻す→動画終了時は再度水中から携帯をだし動画を停止することで水中の動画を撮ることは可能です。もし動画を撮りたい人はその方法なら確実です。
参加者の年齢や経験の有無は運です。そして、その日の海のコンディションや場所によって見える光景もあるため短時間でポイントを押さえまわれるのは非常に効率がいいです。
ただ、正直１時間は短くもっと見たい気持ちはありました。（人によってはしんどいかも…）
また、ウミガメを見れなくても魚や海の中は十分綺麗です。参加した際には3匹ほど見れましたが全て運なので、見れたらラッキーと思って参加すると見れた時の喜びが倍増します！
最後に早朝と昼前のツアーがあると思いますが、次回自分が参加するならば早朝を選びます。早朝に参加し帰宅前には入場ゲートに渋滞が起きていましたが早朝ならそんなことはなくすぐはいれます。そして参加後にホテルで休憩し夕方から出かけたりできるため非常に楽に感じました！
また、ハワイに行くことがあればぜひ参加し体験したいツアーでした。参加を迷っている人は時期により満員とかで参加できない可能性もあるため、参加をお勧めします！

I participated in an optional tour organized by Beltora that included tickets to Hanauma Bay and transportation. The organizer was Roberts Hawaii, a well-known company in Hawaii. Upon researching, I found out that they are the official provider for Hanauma Bay. The shuttle bus arrived right on time, and it was a large green bus with "Roberts Hawaii" written on it. Since the meeting point was in front of the ABC Store, I grabbed some rice balls and drinks before the gathering. Once we arrived, I learned that the food stalls were only located up top, and there wouldn’t be any food available once we went down to the beach.

When the bus arrived, the guide who was checking reservations got off. After confirming my reservation name, I boarded the bus. During the ride, the driver and the guide provided various explanations about Hanauma Bay and its rules. Since the guide spoke in English, I understood only about half, or maybe a third, but they were very cheerful, saying "Aloha!" and "Mahalo!" throughout. Fortunately, the important information about Hanauma Bay was detailed in the pre-printed voucher, so I felt reassured even though I didn’t understand everything in English.

It was also reasonably priced, which was great. The bus ride from the pickup point to Hanauma Bay took about 50 minutes, not even an hour. We picked up passengers from a few hotels before heading there. Besides the explanation of the rules, we also watched a video about Hanauma Bay during the ride. It seemed that everyone needed to watch this video to enter the bay.

When we arrived and got off the bus, there were Japanese staff members who checked if we had any questions, which was reassuring. Inside the bus, we were given wristbands from Roberts Hawaii, which I mistakenly put on my left hand instead of my right, but they helped me correct it. 今回ベルトラさんの開催するハナウマベイチケット付き、送迎付きオプショナルツアーに参加しました。主催はロバーツハワイさんというハワイでは有名な？会社でした。調べてみたところハナウマベイの公式オプショナルになっている会社でした。迎えのバスの送迎も時間通りにぴったりバスがきました。ロバーツハワイと書いてある緑色の大型のバスでした。バスが来るまでに私はABCストア前の集合だったので集合前におにぎりやドリンクを調達しました。ついてからは売店は上の方にしかなく、海に降りてしまったら食べ物などか売っていないとのことでした。バスが到着して案内のガイドさんが降りてきました。予約の照らし合わせをしていました。その方に予約の名前を伝え確認がとれそこからバスに乗り込みました。行きの道中ではドライバーさんの他に先程の予約確認していた案内のガイドさんが、ハナウマベイの注意事項などさまざまな説明をしてくださっていました。英語の方だったので日本人の私には半分？もしかしたら3分の1くらいしかわからなかったですが、アロハ〜！マハロ〜！と終始明るい方でした。ちなみに事前のバウチャーにハナウマベイの注意事項は細かく書いてあったので私はそれを読んでいたので英語がわからなくてもあまり不安はありませんでした。ハナウマベイではリーフセーブの日焼け止めを使用することやお酒は飲んではいけない、ボール遊びをしてはいけないや、珊瑚礁に触れてはいけないや、魚に餌をやってはいけないなどなどです。ちなみにこの日のこのバスのお客さんは英語圏の方がほとんどで日本人は私達のグループだけでした。大人から年配の方、お子さんも多数いらっしゃりバスはほぼ満席でした。ハナウマベイオプショナルツアーの人気さを痛感しました。実際わたしも去年にハナウマベイの公式サイトでチケットを取ろうと試みたのですが、2日前からの現地時間でAM7:00に申し込みがスタートで日本時間ではなんと夜中のAM2:00でした。事前にログインし2人がかりでスタンバイ準備していましたが、ものの１.2分で行きたい時間がソールドアウトになってしまいました。仕方なく別の時間に変えようと携帯を操作している間にその時間も売り切れてしまったのです。泣く泣く諦めてレアレアトローリーでハナウマベイの上から写真を撮るだけに終わり残念なハワイ旅行となってしまいました。その時はこのようなハナウマベイオプショナルツアーがあることを私は知らなかったのです。今回オプショナルツアーがあることを知りベルトラさんで申し込みをしましたがチケットもついて送迎もついていて希望の出発時間も選べる！！最高です！シュノーケル付きのプランにしようかとも迷いましたがハナウマベイではシュノーケルやライフジャケットのレンタルが海の横のレンタルショップでできるとのことだったので今回はこのプランにしました。しかもそんな高くなかったし良かったです。バスで送迎場所からハナウマベイまでは50分？くらいで1時間もかからなかったです。3.4個のいくつかのホテルを回りピックアップしてそこから向かいました。注意事項の説明以外にもバスの道中ではハナウマベイのビデオ鑑賞もありました。ちなみにこれは見ないとみんなハナウマベイに入場できないみたいです。バスが到着してから降りるとそこには日本人スタッフがいました。わからなかったことはなかったかなど聞いてくれて安心しました。バスの中でロバーツハワイの腕に巻くチケットバンドみたいなものが配られて左手につけたのですが、これは右手につけないといけなかったみたいで私達は間違えており右手につけなおしてくれました。また帰りの集合場所はここに来てなど、あらかじめ予約していた帰りのバスをもし遅らせたい場合は腕のバンドにある電話番号に電話するかここに直接その旨を伝えにきてと説明を受けました。いざ入場なんですが私達はビデオ鑑賞もすでに見ているのでロバーツハワイさんの腕のバンドを見せるとすんなりとこちらどうぞと隣のレーンを通してくれました。他の方達はチケット購入やビデオ鑑賞を並んでいました。入場ゲートを通った後はミニトローリーで海がある下まで送ってくれます。行ききは自由でした。すぐに乗り海まで降りました。すごくキレイでさすが環境保護で守られているだけあると思いました。荷物を置いてシュノーケルとライフジャケットを借りにレンタルショップへ行きました。クレジットカード決済もできスムーズに借りることができました。返却は14:30が最終とのことでした。浅瀬で練習をし海の中に入ると珊瑚礁の合間にお魚さんいました。大きい魚や黄色い魚、ニモにでてくるドリー？みたいな魚もいました。ニモはいなかったですが夢中になり帰りの時間が早く感じて、帰り送迎を時間を遅らせてもらいました。迅速に対応してくれてすごく良かったです

I would do this again! This saved our time and no stress on making reservation to Hanauma Bay. The transportation is so convenient and we watched the introduction video on the shuttle so we can just walk straight in without wasting any time. The snorkeling was one of our favorite things of the trip! I’m so glad we booked through here because they took us straight in and we didn’t have to wait in line. We saw so many fishes and coral reef. We also rent wetsuit and life jacket. We had so much fun feeling safe since the waves and current can get strong.

However, thanks to the guide's help and instruction, I was able to get used to breathing and managed to complete an hour of snorkeling. It was truly a valuable experience. I highly recommend this tour to those who have never tried it before, so don't hesitate to join as a beginner!

I had the best beach experience in Hawaii! Since it was my first tour in Hawaii, I was a bit nervous, but there were Japanese-speaking guides, which made boarding the bus and entering Hanauma Bay go smoothly! I took the ride from the Ala Moana Hotel. The meeting place was easy to find. Printing the voucher is a must. It took about 30 minutes to reach the destination. We left on the 10:45 AM flight and returned on the 1:45 PM flight. Although the stay was short, I was able to enjoy it thoroughly even without a guide. It was just the right amount of time for me. It was comfortable and quick, much better than spending half a day.

I was told by the older gentleman at the counter that there are no fish on the central beach, various fish on the right side of the reef, and large fish on the left side. He was absolutely right! I didn't want to spend money, so I went without fins or goggles, but I had a fantastic time. The water is shallow, so it worked out fine. Next time I go, I will bring fins and goggles from Japan.

Snorkeling was first thing in the morning, and there were plenty of fish. Although there were times during the day when it was cloudy, it didn't matter, and we still had a great time seeing lots of fish.

On this day, there were no other Japanese participants in the tour besides us. However, that wasn't an issue at all.

However, with the implementation of entry restrictions and the fact that very few people visited during COVID, I felt that the beautiful Hanauma Bay has returned. After the Honolulu Marathon, the weather was unpredictable with a lot of rain, so when I made my reservation, I kept an eye on the weather forecast and chose a day with a low chance of precipitation. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I encountered a heavy downpour like a tropical rain shower.

After that, the weather was cloudy with occasional rain, and very rarely did the sun peek through, but I was still able to go snorkeling, which turned out to be a memorable experience. I hope to make a comeback on a sunny day next year.
