My sisters and I decided to take our elderly mother to Oahu for the first time, and I wanted to show her the major tourist spots, so I made a reservation.

Since we went to Diamond Head early in the morning, it wasn't hot, and our elderly mother was able to reach the summit with ease.

Our tour guide, Jonah, took us to places we had never seen or heard of before, making it a memorable tour for all of us sisters and our mother.

Along the way, Jonah, who is very knowledgeable, explained about the upscale neighborhoods, beaches, buildings, and facilities. He made an effort to keep us entertained by introducing famous stores and taking photos at various spots.

I wanted to explore the northern part from the east, and after considering various options like buses or rental cars, I felt a bit anxious... then I found the perfect tour!

Our guide, Jonah, spoke fluent Japanese and provided a lot of information during the journey, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful scenery. With restroom breaks included, we hit all the key points, such as Leonard's Malasadas and the macadamia nuts from Tropical Farms (which I was curious about thanks to Risa Nakazato's recommendation, haha), along with China Man's Hat (where we even saw a honu!), and we had a lunch break at Kahuku Sugar Mill where we could eat whatever we liked! We got to enjoy Giovanni's famous garlic shrimp (and beer, since I wasn't driving!), explore Sunset Beach and Haleiwa, and savor local coffee at Green World Coffee Farm.

It felt like being taken around by a friend who lives there, and the tour was a perfect blend of what travelers are curious about and a chance to learn about Oahu. Thank you!

Although it was unfortunately a cloudy day, I was able to ride horses around Kualoa Ranch. Riding for about an hour made my backside sore, but it was a wonderful experience. It took over an hour to get from Waikiki to Kualoa Ranch by shuttle bus, but since it was a large tour bus, I was able to sleep soundly without any bumps. The guide who accompanied us on the horseback riding took a photo of me on the horse, but when I looked back later, for some reason, none of the photos were taken, and it's a shame that I don't have any pictures from the ride.

It was wonderful to be able to slowly see both the sea and the mountains while riding a horse. While it seemed nice to go by car, being able to fully immerse myself in nature while horseback riding was the best.

I had a great time. The ocean was very beautiful and amazing! In the morning, I jumped off the diving rock (it was quite impressive), enjoyed snorkeling, and had a blast in the water. In the afternoon, I did stand-up paddleboarding and strolled around Haleiwa a bit. I was able to play a lot throughout the day.

Everything was in English, so it might be difficult if you can't speak it at all, but the staff were very kind.

After that, I was very impressed to be able to eat malasadas at Leonard's, which was not on the course. Thank you for taking me to Balance Rock as well! The ocean at Sunset Beach was incredibly beautiful, and it was a series of moving experiences! I was surprised by how delicious Giovanni's garlic shrimp was. I was looking forward to going to Tropical Farm and Haleiwa this time. Although I chose the tour based on the itinerary when I signed up, I was handed a card outlining the day's schedule after being picked up. We made several stops at famous (Instagram-worthy) beaches, but it felt very rushed, with only 10 to 15 minutes at each location (and 1 to 1.5 hours for lunch and exploring Haleiwa). It was quite hectic, going in and out in the heat. Honestly, I wished we could just stay in the car at the beach for a bit. In the morning, we stopped for a restroom break and those who wanted to buy from Leonard's, which sells from a food truck, were given the opportunity. Since we had to eat in the car, the smell of oil was quite overwhelming for me, as I wasn't in the mood to eat at that moment. For lunch, it was also from a food truck, and I struggled to find something I wanted to eat in the heat. The only nice part was being able to sit down and enjoy a coffee at a café in Haleiwa. The driver spoke Japanese well, and our conversations were very enjoyable, but honestly, while this tour might be great for younger people, I found it lacking in satisfaction and ended up feeling tired. It's a shame...

今回はトロピカルファームとハレイワ方面に行くことを楽しみにしていました。申し込み時にツアーの流れを見て選んではいたものの、実際にピックアップしてもらい1日のツアーの流れを案内したカードを渡されましたが…。有名どころ（インスタ映えの）ビーチに細かく寄ったりしつつ、トロピカルファーム、ハレイワ、コーヒーファームにもよるということで、各所10〜15分（昼食とハレイワ散策のみ1時間ないし1時間半）で大変慌ただしく、暑い中出たり入ったりでした。暑い中での移動なので、正直途中のビーチはもう車待機したいなとも思いました。朝イチ、キッチンカーで売りに来ているレナーズを購入希望する人はどうぞっとトイレ休憩を兼ねて停車されました。車内で食べることになるので、今食べたい気分ではなかった私にとっては車内に広がる油の匂いはかなりしんどかったです。昼食もフードトラックなので暑い中食べたいものが見つからず。唯一ハレイワのカフェでゆっくり座ってコーヒーを飲むことができたのは良かったです。ドライバーの方も日本語が上手でお話は非常に楽しかったですが、正直ツアースケジュールとしては若い人同士ならいいかもしれませんが、私としては満足感に欠けて、疲れてしまう内容でした。残念…。

I wanted my grandchildren to experience various activities at the Polynesian Cultural Center, so we went as a family of nine, including my four grandchildren (ages 0, 2, 10, and 11). Children aged 0 and 2 are free, and those aged 10 and 11 get half price. Other tours don’t offer such benefits, so we were able to participate at a reasonable cost. We had a great time exploring the six villages and experiencing Polynesian culture, as well as enjoying a canoe tour.

Since very little Japanese was spoken, it was difficult to understand how to use the voucher for entry and the announcements regarding pickup times and locations. Japanese brochures are available at the entrance.

It's early in the morning, and although the activity time is only two hours, which seems inefficient, it's incredibly fun. I think skydiving will truly be an unforgettable experience. The view from over 4,000 meters and the sensation of speed during the fall were surreal and amazing. The staff at the reception and the instructors were very unique and left a good impression.

However, even at the scheduled start time of 10:00, we were not called for a long time, and ultimately, we jumped at the same time as the last group scheduled for 13:00. We spent that entire time waiting on a bench outside. Honestly, their handling of this situation was the worst. No announcements were made despite the long wait, and when we inquired at the reception, we were repeatedly told about the next flight. While others who arrived on the same shuttle bus moved on to the plane, the next shuttle bus arrived, and those passengers were called immediately. Meanwhile, we continued to wait outside, and in the end, we were even made to wait for the instructors' lunch break.

Waiting outside for over three hours without any information was very painful. While the reception and instructors were good, the overall flow of the activity was very noticeable in its shortcomings.

3時間以上もなんの案内もなしに外で待たされるのはとても苦痛でした。
受付やインストラクターの方などの対応がいい反面、アクティビティ全体の流れの悪さがすごく目立ちました。

The view from about 4500 meters was very nice.
Although it's on the expensive side compared to other activities in Hawaii, I recommend it.
The instructor spoke broken Japanese but was able to communicate.

Out of 16 participants, we were the only two Japanese. On the bus, we introduced ourselves in English, and if you're proficient in English, you'll have a great time. The guide was kind, but we understood more than half of the content. In the morning activities, swimming was prohibited at the waterfall in the botanical garden due to lack of rain (the waterfall itself was dry and not flowing), so I recommend snorkeling. The kayaking was just under an hour on the river. The stops along the bus route included a coconut farm, a fruit stand (a roadside shop), and a shopping mall (single-story). We bought a papaya for $4 at the fruit stand (it was perfectly ripe and very delicious when we ate it at the hotel), and we had Matsumoto's shaved ice at the shopping mall. We had plenty of time and enjoyed ourselves.
