Dolphin University is amazing! ★
This is my second time participating, following last year! I met so many dolphins last time, but this time there were even more! They spun right in front of us and came to play very close by.
The reason I want to enroll again is not just the dolphins, but also because the president, Yuriko, is absolutely wonderful! I will definitely come back to enroll again soon!!

I experienced parasailing for the first time with my elementary school daughter. The wind was quite strong that day, so we swayed like a swing and didn't have much opportunity to enjoy the scenery. My daughter said she enjoyed the speed of the boat going out to sea more than the parasailing itself. We also took a photo of her splashing into the cold sea up to her waist, which became a nice memory. I paid $20 for the film and chips.

On the day of the event, we were blessed with beautiful weather, and the sea was incredibly clear and calm—it was the best! We got to meet the dolphins multiple times, and each time, I jumped into the water to swim with them. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the turtles, but I had a great time swimming with colorful fish that looked like something out of a fairy tale and kayaking. My son still talks about how delicious the cheeseburger he had on the boat was since we returned to Japan. The staff members were very cheerful and made it a fun experience. I would love to participate again when I go to Hawaii!

I was worried about exceeding the weight limit, but it turned out to be fine. The parasailing was fun, but since we were sent up in a sort of assembly line manner, I had some doubts about whether this is how it usually is... It's important to check the time slots for reservations.

First of all, this tour has a high quality. Usually, expensive tours aimed at Japanese people always have a Japanese guide, but this tour does not. However, there is an excellent local guide who understands the Japanese spirit and provides detailed guidance, so it's perfectly fine even if you don't understand English at all. I felt that this tour was thoroughly researched for Japanese participants.
Of course, regarding the important rendezvous with the dolphins, this was the closest encounter I've had on any tour so far, and it really felt like we were swimming together. I highly recommend this tour for those looking to meet dolphins. I was also impressed by the service that sends a group photo if you register your email (of course, for free).

I participated in this tour on June 25, 2010. The account contains quite a few spoilers, but I believe the quality of the tour is so high that spoilers don't matter at all.
I had previously participated in a similar tour with dolphins, but I prefer this dolphin university tour. The previous tour was quite tough, and the care for participants was just "normal," which left little room for fun and made me feel exhausted both physically and mentally. In contrast, the dolphin university provided exceptional care that felt like true "hospitality." I was able to relax and enjoy myself while also thoroughly enjoying the dolphins, sea turtles, and tropical fish. I highly recommend it for first-timers and families. My 74-year-old father had a great time and, despite initially saying he wouldn't go into the sea, he ended up jumping off the boat multiple times and was in high spirits.
The pickup was indeed early at 5:30 AM (for the morning session), so I was a bit sleepy, but once I got in the car, the energetic enthusiasm of our tour guide, Yuriko, chased away my drowsiness. Before getting on the highway, we stopped by the popular donut shop "Rainer's Bakery" for breakfast, where I enjoyed a freshly made "Malasada," which is currently quite trendy. After about an hour, we arrived at the harbor where the "Island Princess" (with restrooms) was waiting, passing by the former residence of the former grand champion, Konishiki.
We boarded the Island Princess, and with Captain PaPa and the seven crew members, we set off to search for dolphins! Shortly after departure, we offered a song to the sea, "Ehomai," and at the end, we tossed a "Plumeria" flower into the water... praying for a good voyage. This was wonderful.
Now, the entire crew, including PaPa, was on the lookout for dolphins. During this time, while receiving explanations about life jackets and other equipment, we were delighted to be served a large bowl of pineapple. The one distributing it was Yuriko's adorable child, Kamadi. It was a delightful treat for my dry throat. After about 30 to 40 minutes, we encountered our first pod of dolphins. They were friendly and playful "Bottlenose Dolphins." All participants successfully swam with the pod. (Although, to be honest, the dolphins were much faster, so swimming together was a challenge for us humans.)

"Prestigious Dolphin University" was truly amazing. We took a boat to a spot where we could see dolphins every day, almost 100% of the time, and jumped into the sea with snorkeling gear.
Following the staff's lead, I swam along and when I put my face in the water, a huge pod of dolphins appeared right in front of me! They came up to the surface to breathe and jumped together with us. Even though they weren't trained in an aquarium, they could jump in perfect sync. The sea was incredibly beautiful, and I never expected to see dolphins so up close. Just floating in the water and watching the dolphins was so healing! For those who aren't confident in swimming, the staff will pull you along with a rope, so it's very reassuring.
Next, we went to a spot with sea turtles. I was able to swim alongside the turtles perfectly.
The staff included both Japanese and Hawaiian members, and there was a dedicated photographer. The photos taken by the photographer were later available on DVD, and I was glad I purchased them because they captured many moments, including pictures from when we were in the water and candid shots on the boat.
I never got bored on the boat during the transfers. I was particularly captivated by the handsome local guide and the stunning photographer. For lunch, they grilled hamburgers on the boat, which were absolutely delicious, and I enjoyed a very elegant atmosphere while relaxing to Hawaiian music.
In this tour, we referred to the dolphins and turtles as "Dolphin Sensei" and "Turtle Sensei," and they truly taught us the wonders of nature.
As a souvenir, I received an eco bag printed with "Prestigious Dolphin University." It was a very enjoyable tour that I will remember for a lifetime, and I would love to participate again!

I woke up to breakfast with malasadas, and after about a 40-minute drive, passing by the Konishiki residence on the left, we arrived at the West Coast. We switched to a boat and set off with Yuriko and the energetic staff!! Within 10 minutes, we reached the dolphin spot → dove into the sea!! Even my daughter, who isn't a strong swimmer, was well-supported by the staff and enjoyed snorkeling with everyone (laughs). Then...
There they were\(~o~)/ I was so moved that I forgot to take pictures and was captivated by the large group of dolphins. After that, we were able to see honu (sea turtles) and many fish up close.
For lunch, we had cheeseburgers grilled on the boat, which were also exquisite!! For some reason, everyone got excited and sang loudly during the ukulele and hula lessons, making it a quick half-day of fun♪
Dolphin University is definitely a place where both adults and children can enjoy themselves!! I want to enroll again next year (@^^)/~~~

On June 23rd, I participated with my 3-year-old son and my pregnant sister.
This was my second trip to Hawaii for my brother's wedding, and it was my son's first time in Hawaii. Last time, we mainly walked around the city, shopped, and enjoyed Waikiki Beach, but with a small child, shopping isn't really enjoyable. I wanted to find something that both the child could enjoy and that would be suitable for my pregnant sister, something that we couldn't experience in Japan. After searching with Alan, I found this option.
It had high ratings, and reading everyone's comments made it sound like a lot of fun. However, I was a bit skeptical because I had previously participated in a tour that was terrible despite good reviews. But with the 7.77 campaign and free admission for children under 3 (it's quite common for 3-year-olds to be charged, even though they probably don't understand what's going on), I was excited.
My son had a fear of the ocean after falling over in the waves during his debut at the beach last year, so I was quite anxious that he might get upset right before we went, even with the promise of feeding dolphins and turtles. I thought it would be fine to leave him with his grandparents if needed, and there was no cancellation fee, which was a relief.
On the day of the event, we had to gather at 6:10 AM. It was early... especially since it was the day after our arrival, and that time is quite tough for someone with low blood pressure. Oh boy. My son, who loves his mom, decided to join us. Just before we left, he was fussing about not wanting to go to the ocean or ride on a boat, but I managed to calm him down by promising him donuts (malasadas) and cheeseburgers.
At the meeting point, there was a shuttle bus with "Dolphin University" written on it in big letters. We were greeted by a lovely, bright, and talkative young woman with long hair and a sun-kissed complexion. My excitement and blood pressure both rose a bit.
The aforementioned lady, Yuriko, drove us to our first destination, Leonard's. During the drive, everyone introduced themselves, and thanks to Yuriko's skillful guidance, the atmosphere became friendly and relaxed. The shop was located along a main road, away from the tourist areas, and I probably wouldn't have been able to come here without the courage to rent a car. I was very happy with this kind of service; it scored high points with me. Leonard's is well-known and often featured in magazines and on TV, so I had imagined a clean and tidy shop, but its appearance pleasantly surprised me, blending into the everyday life of America. The atmosphere was great. While we were there, locals kept coming in to buy, showing its popularity.
I tried the most basic type of malasada. It was freshly fried and warm, gently waking up my half-asleep brain with its sweetness and moist, fluffy texture. It was delicious, and I understood why it was so popular.
By the way, while we were at Leonard's, my son felt the urge to go to the bathroom...

I had an amazing time! I'm really glad I participated in this tour. Actually, it was my companion's first time at the ocean in over ten years, and it was also their first time snorkeling. Plus, we’re not great swimmers... But even with that, we had an absolute blast! We wore life jackets, so there was no worry about drowning. Also, the staff provided support for those who aren't good at swimming, so it was all good!
There were so many dolphins! It was funny when we mistook the heads of people from other tours for dolphins... (laughs) We also saw tons of fish, and the turtles were incredible. We even got to swim alongside them! Thanks to that, we got some great videos. It was truly a fun time, and I felt so relaxed.
However, getting up early was a bit tough. We had to leave around 6 AM, so our alarm was set for 5 AM! Since we’re not morning people, we completely missed the alarm and woke up to the sound of the phone ringing. We jumped up in a panic, but the call had already ended. Just when I thought I overslept, the phone rang again. It turned out to be the tour's morning call. Thanks to that, we managed to make it on time. For those who struggle with mornings, there are multiple morning calls, so it seems manageable (laughs).
For breakfast, we had Leonard's malasadas! Drinks are not included, so you can either bring your own or buy water for a dollar. After breakfast, we took motion sickness pills since there were a few people on the tour who felt a bit seasick, so don’t forget if you're worried! Thanks to that, we were super comfortable.
I definitely want to participate again next time. So, everyone, enjoy!

In the morning, we were picked up at the hotel and had malasadas for breakfast at Leonard's. The freshly made, fluffy malasadas were delicious! Now, off to the sea in Waianae where the dolphins are waiting!
Along the way, our guide Yuji provided sightseeing information, saying, "This is the hospital where President Obama was born," and "On your left is the house of Kōnishiki!" Each time, everyone exclaimed, "Wow!!" I appreciated the thoughtful efforts to keep everyone engaged during the 40-minute journey, which flew by, and soon we arrived at the sea in Waianae!
Once we boarded the boat and headed out, I was amazed! The water was completely clear! You could see right through to the bottom! What a beautiful sea. I was thrilled and confident that we would see dolphins.
The sea in Waianae is calm, beautiful, and mysterious. I stared intently at the surface, hoping to see dolphins. Spin jumps!! We also jumped into the water.
As we quietly swam, there were 60 to 70 dolphins around us. They swam right in front of us and beneath us. Baby dolphins were swimming closely with their mothers. I felt like I wanted to swim with them forever. So happy♪
The cheeseburger grilled on the boat was incredibly delicious, and canoeing and paddle surfing were also fun. It was truly a packed experience. I felt like we accomplished so much in just half a day. I want to come back again next year!

I participated on June 30th.
The weather was clear from the morning! I was picked up at the hotel early in the morning and headed straight for Leonard's famous malasadas. These are not like donuts with holes; they are oval-shaped fried pastries. Freshly made, they have a light texture instead of being greasy! I felt like I could eat as many as I wanted♪
After that, we went to the harbor on the west coast where the Dolphin University boat is located. It took about 40 minutes by car. There were about 30 people on the boat, including the staff, and we set off to find the dolphins!
The weather was so nice that the sea breeze was pleasant, and just moving around was enjoyable. Along the way, we learned a traditional Hawaiian prayer and prayed to the sea gods together. Hoping our prayers would reach them, we continued our search for the dolphins from the boat.
At one point… we spotted a pod of dolphins!! Following the staff's instructions, everyone jumped into the sea! By the way, goggles and fins are provided, but wetsuits are available for a fee. However, I recommend renting a wetsuit.
As for the dolphins, at first, they didn't come close because everyone was splashing around in the water, but thanks to the staff's experience and skills, the dolphins…! Before we knew it, there were about 15 dolphins around us…! It was truly moving! Of course, we couldn't touch them, but they swam right past us, below us, and even chatted with a "quee" sound… the dolphins in the wild are truly amazing.
After being moved by the dolphins, we headed to the underwater palace. Yes, there were sea turtles and colorful fish waiting for us there! I was captivated by the sea turtles and couldn't help but follow them. They seemed a bit annoyed, though (laughs).
Additionally, there were activities like sea kayaking, paddle surfing, and on the boat, we enjoyed special hamburgers and hula dancing… it was a class filled with so many fun activities that I can't even write them all down.
Thank you so much, Yuriko, Yuji, Cynthia, Dad, Keoki, Kioni, Mary… and all the wonderful instructors! I had a truly enjoyable time!!

I participated in this tour during a monitor experience on July 14th! When I came to Hawaii last time, I joined another wild dolphin tour and was moved when I saw the dolphins. However, the previous tour from another company was in a location where the sea wasn't very beautiful, which was disappointing. This time, I applied for this tour because I saw reviews and the website suggested they would take us to a beautiful sea!
My impression is, it was awesome!!! I'm really glad I chose this tour! That's the bottom line!! I absolutely recommend it!
The sea was taken to the westernmost point of Oahu, so it was clear, and we could see dolphins swimming right next to us, making it feel like we were really swimming in the ocean together! Moreover, not only did we see dolphins, but at the point where the water was clearest, we had time to feed the fish and enjoy paddle surfing! This tour also allows you to enjoy delicious food! (laughs) In the morning, after departing from the meeting place, we first went to Leonard's Bakery, famous for malasadas, where we each had a freshly made, piping hot one. While on the water, Captain Papa prepared delicious cheeseburgers, chilled pineapples, chips, and drinks, which came out just when we were swimming and feeling a bit hungry! The timing was perfect!
We encountered dolphins three times, and I was able to see them swimming right by my feet twice, so I felt completely satisfied both emotionally and physically★☆★☆★.
For those who are hesitant about participating, I joined other activities during my stay in Hawaii, but the tour I wanted to do again was definitely this one, so please go and enjoy it!

They had a LOT of activities going on at the same time to keep everyone entertained. Plenty of good food. It was difficult to see the stage show from the regular seating. You may want to consider upgrading.

I participated with my husband and mother-in-law. Since we were off the coast of Waikiki, I wasn't expecting much, but it was better than I imagined. First of all, taking a boat to Waikiki is great. The view of Waikiki from the sea is amazing. We were also able to see turtles underwater. One issue, though, is that after coming up from the submarine, the boat sways quite a bit, and it can make you feel seasick. It might be a good idea to take some motion sickness medication.

During my stay in Hawaii, I participated in various activities, but Dolphin University was the best!!
This time, it was a family trip with three generations. Not only I, but everyone in my family was thrilled, so I was very satisfied. This is all thanks to the kind staff. Thank you so much!!
I also appreciated the morning call to the hotel. I was already up and excited... (laughs) The malasada was even more delicious than I expected, and I wanted to eat another one.
After returning home and going back to school, my child told their friends about Dolphin University, and they were very envious. Surrounded by nature, we had a wonderful experience and made great memories. I'm also working hard while recalling that excitement. I want to see Dolphin Teacher and Turtle Teacher again, so I will definitely participate next time!! I look forward to it again then!!

I wasn't particularly fixated on dolphins, but when I saw the chance to participate in the monitor campaign at a great price, I applied with a light heart...
It was truly, truly the right decision!! I never expected to see wild dolphins so close!
First, from the early morning gathering, Yuriko and Yuji's fun talks got me excited♪ During the drive, I was able to hear wonderful stories about how they became captivated by dolphins, which were quite inspiring. Unfortunately, it was raining on the way there, but thanks to that, we saw many rainbows after the rain☆ "Seeing such a big rainbow means something good is definitely going to happen today!" My spirits were high↑↑.
Arriving at the port in such a fun atmosphere, everyone greeted us warmly.
From the moment we boarded the boat, there were dolphins swimming all around! We offered a prayer song and off we went into the sea!
With life jackets on, I had no worries even though I can't swim.
The dolphins were close by, but at first, they didn't come near, which made me a bit anxious. However, as I quietly waited... they were really, really right there! The dolphins swimming gracefully and comfortably were truly magical. I even got to see a mother and baby swimming together.
After the dolphins, we moved to the Dragon Palace for about 20 minutes. They entertained us with ukulele music and served us pineapple, so we weren't bored during the ride.
At the Dragon Palace, we had free time to snorkel, paddle surf, and kayak. We saw not only turtles but also many beautiful fish. When I held out food, they rushed over with such speed that it was a bit scary. Paddle surfing clearly divided those who could do it and those who couldn't (laughs). I definitely recommend giving it a try.
On the way back to the port, we enjoyed special cheeseburgers (eating on the sea was exceptional☆), and we even danced at the end. Personally, I found the dancing to be a lot of fun♪ The more you dance without being shy, the better!
Despite being just a morning activity, it was packed with content. It became the most enjoyable memory of this trip♪
I highly recommend it for anyone looking to immerse themselves in an extraordinary experience and find some healing☆☆☆

In the early morning, I boarded the yellow school bus from Dolphin University and first had breakfast at Leonard's. I had already eaten Leonard's malasadas the day before, but at Dolphin University, I was able to enjoy them fresh and hot! The fresh ones were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and they were absolutely delicious!! I highly recommend having them fresh☆☆☆
Guided by the cheerful and energetic staff member Yuriko, we arrived at the West after about 40 minutes. Once we boarded the boat from there... the dolphins greeted us right away. I thought we would be searching for the dolphins for a longer time, but as expected, the encounter rate is 100%!!
We hurried into the sea, swimming eagerly after the staff, and there they were, the dolphins! I will never forget the moment when they passed right underneath me or came so close that I could almost reach out to them. Above all, I am grateful to the staff. It was clear that they were doing their utmost to ensure we could meet the dolphins. They taught us when to swim and when to stop and wait quietly, and they shouted loudly, "Look down now~~!!" so we wouldn’t miss anything... Thanks to the dedicated staff, I had the best experience.
After meeting the dolphins, we moved to the second spot by boat. We encountered tropical fish, honu (sea turtles), and even the rarely seen Hawaiian monk seal, and we had a blast with sea kayaking and paddle surfing. After all the fun, the cheeseburgers grilled by Captain Papa on the boat were delicious too!! They played pleasant songs on the ukulele and taught us hula, keeping us entertained until the very end.
Despite such a packed schedule, we were able to return to the hotel around 2 PM, which was great because it left us with some free time afterward. Waking up early was definitely worth it. If I have the chance, I would love to enroll again. Thank you so much to Yuriko and all the staff for such a wonderful time. Mahalo.
Mahalo.
