As for the whale watching, I was starting to think we might not see anything, but then I spotted a spout in the distance! This show is nothing short of incredible. We saw a circe show in Vegas and we weren't sure how this would show against that experience but WOW. Just amazing. As far as I can tell, every seat is a good seat. Do NOT be late!
BK was our tour guide and driver. I know now why he was Driver of the Year in 2023. Very knowledgeable on every facet of the tour. It was our first trip to Honolulu and he provided an excellent dialogue on everywhere we visited. (and even some we didn’t!) The bus was exceptionally clean and comfortable and our scheduled pickup was exactly on time at both ends of the tour.
Even when we got close to Diamond Head, we couldn't see any whales, and I started to give up a little, but then I spotted a spout in the distance. At that moment, the boat sped towards the whale, and we got close enough to see it!
After that, the boat kept pace without disturbing the whale, allowing us to see it with Diamond Head in the background. It was such an emotional moment!
As the boat started heading back to the harbor, the other passengers returned inside, but while watching the whale, I was able to see a huge leap from quite a distance!
On the way back, we also spotted two groups of whales, so I think it's a good idea to look out for spouts. The pineapple banana bread provided after boarding was also very delicious, and we could enjoy it with tea or coffee inside the boat!
