After checking in, I was given a lei to wear around my neck and was shown to my seat. I immediately indulged in the buffet, and as expected from Hyatt, everything was delicious. It seems that this show is held regularly, but the stage setup looked somewhat simple, which made me a bit anxious before it started. However, once it began, I was completely captivated by the vibrant dancers on stage.

The host's commentary was in English, but since it was a tourist-oriented show and the dance was the main focus, I was able to enjoy the atmosphere just fine. When I think of hula, I usually picture graceful dances performed by women, but the male performances were also impressive. It was an event that left me very satisfied!

Overall, it was amazing. The day we booked was sunny, so we could see a beautiful sunset, which was very moving. We made our reservation on a day when we could see the fireworks on Friday, and I was very satisfied to watch the fireworks from the boat. It was easy to get there by bus from around Waikiki. I made a reservation with a guaranteed window seat and received an album as well. Perhaps because nearly half of the guests were Japanese, there were rice and Japanese food at the buffet. The main attraction was the freshly sliced roast beef, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The first drink, whether a non-alcoholic cocktail or a cocktail, is free. As I finished my first round at the buffet, the sun began to set, and I was able to freely go up on the deck of the boat. The sunset viewed from the boat was very beautiful, and even after it got dark, I could enjoy the night scenery. At night, I was able to enjoy Hawaiian culture and music up close. If you're looking to enjoy the lively atmosphere of Hawaii, this might not be the right fit for you. However, I think watching the sunset while listening to jazz in a calm setting is a unique experience that’s hard to come by.

There were about 10% Japanese guests, and while the menu had some items in Japanese, all orders and communication were in English. The introductions of the musicians and the engaging talks were also all in English, so having some understanding of the language would make it more enjoyable.

Even if the weather wasn't really great during our experience, we still had a great time chilling in the boat watching the view, snorkeling and had dinner and drinks. It was a really good value for the price since the dinner and alcoholic beverage were also included. The crew was really great too and we spent time talking to them as well. Captain Don, Trent and Jacob were really fun and helpful throughout the experience. Even if we didn't see the sunset because of the weather, it was still great because we saw a humpback whale swimming next to us.

My spouse and I participated in the 3-star course. On the day of the event, the sea was calm with little movement, making for a peaceful night. The venue was open-air, and it was neither too hot nor too cold, so a single aloha shirt was sufficient.

As we set sail to the live jazz performance, we enjoyed the sunset right away. The meal consisted of a full course with lobster and steak, along with one bottle of sparkling wine and two additional drinks. The portions were generous, and we couldn't finish all the drinks. If I had to mention a downside, it was that the venue was quite crowded, and the space between tables was narrow.

After the Polynesian show, everyone got together to dance, which was a lot of fun.

Once the show started, the atmosphere changed dramatically, with a packed lineup of hula dancing, fire performances, and shows featuring Elvis and Michael Jackson. Many of the songs were not from our generation, but the production was authentic and engaging, making it very enjoyable. Since we had VIP seats, we were able to watch from the central front row, which was impressive. After the show, we also had the opportunity to take photos with the performers, which made for a great keepsake.
