I was able to see dolphins and whales swimming and playing freely from the boat, which made me feel connected to nature. Unfortunately, I could only see a few dolphins and turtles from underwater due to timing, but I enjoyed the experience nonetheless, understanding that it's a natural occurrence.

The water was warm, but it got cold once I got out, so I quickly changed. I'm glad I prepared a change of clothes and something to wear over it.

I was really happy to feel that Maki, who attended to us, was making an effort to entertain us.

For those who want to see dolphins and turtles up close, I recommend scuba diving.

We also had the opportunity to touch the dolphins, which was a very valuable experience. The photo with the dolphins captured the best smiles!

Let's join this tour with an open mind, haha!

First, the staff arrived about 20 minutes late from the meeting time! Well, since the other participants didn't complain, I'll take it as a good sign.

Also, once we got on the boat, there was a long explanation, but it was all in English! (By the way, the email we received right before also came in English, so I used a translation app to understand the content.)

Anyway, after listening to the explanation, we dove in! We saw so many turtles, it was amazing!

On the way back, we even encountered dolphins. It would have been perfect if I understood English, but I still had a great time!

I was very grateful for the detailed explanations and precautions provided by the Japanese guide for activities that could be life-threatening if one missteps, such as being in the ocean. However, I was strictly lectured about the cultural differences between Hawaii (America) and Japan, mainly regarding the tipping culture and the quality of service.

I am already aware of these differences and do not expect the same level of service as in Japan while abroad. I understand that some participants may not grasp these concepts, but the way it was conveyed felt quite condescending, almost as if the guide was ashamed of Japanese people. I understand the sentiment, but it was uncomfortable. It would have been better to casually say something like, "Please leave your tips here at the end. Feel free to ask if you have any questions," rather than raising one's voice and dragging out the explanation.

Additionally, during the dolphin watching from the boat, when the dolphins were only visible in the distance, the guide said to the Japanese guests (not us), "You've seen them, right? Hurry back to your seats!" which left a bad taste in my mouth. We participated to see the dolphins, after all. Perhaps it was due to concerns about seasickness? Again, I thought the delivery could have been better.

On a positive note, the explanations about the ecology of sea turtles and dolphins, as well as the advice for dolphin swimming, were very helpful and appreciated. Thanks to that, I was able to jump in without hesitation and saw both dolphins and honu.

Regarding the activity plan, I was looking forward to snorkeling, SUP, and water slides besides dolphin swimming, but the time was very short, and we couldn't do SUP, which was disappointing, though I understand it was due to the schedule. It felt like a bonus. If given another opportunity, I plan to participate in these marine activities with dedicated time.

While I have shared many critiques, I want to emphasize that we did not experience seasickness thanks to effective medication, and we were able to encounter dolphins and honu, which was very moving, so I am glad we participated. The staff, aside from the aforementioned issues, were all very friendly, cheerful, and enjoyable to be around. The photographer was also very nice and provided detailed answers about dolphin ecology. We were able to purchase many photos for just $65, which became a wonderful memory. Thank you.

Regarding tips, Japanese participants often wonder how much to give, so I’ll share my thoughts for reference. The Japanese guide mentioned that the usual tip is around 20%, with a minimum of about 10%. When we participated in other activities where we received excellent service, we each gave 25%. For those who provided exceptional service, we also give individual tips separately. For this activity, we tipped about 15% each. We also left about 10% collectively for the shuttle bus.

日本人ガイドは海という一歩間違えると命を落としかねないアクティビティでは細かな説明や注意事項を聞くのにとてもありがたかったです。が・・・
ハワイ(アメリカ)と日本の文化の違いについて厳しく説明されました。
主にチップ文化やサービスのクオリティの違いについてです。

そんなこと承知の上ですし海外にきて日本と同等のサービスなど求めておりません。
参加者の中にそれらを理解されていない方もおられるのかと存じますが、言い方がどうも･･･そんな日本人を恥と思っているような物言いで正直不快でした。気持ちは分かりますが･･･
無知な方がおられるのか知りませんが声を荒げてダラダラと説明する内容ではないですね。サラッとスマートに「チップは終わりにここにちょうだいねー。分からなければ気軽に聞いて」など一言添える程度で良いのでは？

あと、船上からのイルカウォッチングの際、遠くに小さく見える程度で皆さん一生懸命みていてやっと少し近づくと１分もたたないで「もう見たからいいでしょ！早く席に戻って！」と言っていた（私達ではない日本人客に対して）のにも気分が悪くなりました。
私たちはイルカを見るために参加しているのです。
船酔いを心配してでしょうか？やはりここでも言い方が悪いなと思ってしまいました。

しかし、ウミガメやイルカの生態についての説明や、ドルフィンスイムの際に見るためのアドバイス等はとてもためになり良かったです。
お陰様で躊躇なく飛び込むことができましたし、イルカもホヌも見れました。

アクティビティのプランについて
ドルフィンスイム以外のシュノーケルやSUPやウォータースライダーなども楽しみにしていましたが時間がとても短くてSUPまでは出来ずで残念でしたがタイムスケジュール的に仕方ないかなと。オマケみたいなものですね。
また機会があればこれらのマリンアクテビティは別でしっかり時間をとったものに参加しようと思います。

・・とここまで長々と余り良い感想はないですが。
私達は酔い止めも薬もしっかり効き船酔いすることもなく、イルカやホヌにも出会えとても感動しましたので参加して良かったと思っています。
スタッフの方も上記のこと以外はすごくフレンドリーで明るく楽しい方ばかりで良かったです。
カメラマンの方もとても良い方でイルカの生態についても質問すると詳しく教えていただけました。写真もたくさん枚数があるのに65ドルで購入できとても良い思い出となりました。ありがとうございます。


チップについでですが、日本人参加者の方々はどのくらい渡そうかと悩みますので参考までに書いておきます。
その日本人ガイドさんも普通20%位で 〜10%程度とおっしゃっており、私達も他のアクティビティに参加した際、とても良くしていただいたのでその時は25%を夫婦各々で渡しました。また特別お世話になったなと感じた人にはそれとは別で個別に渡すようにしています。今回こちらのアクティビティでは夫婦各自15%程度を。送り迎えのバスには夫婦でまとめて10%程度入れて帰りました。

Snorkeling spot is great, saw sea turtles and of course a lot of fishes.
We were very lucky to see 4 spots of dolphins swimming just around us and jumping and spinning.
Great crew, very friendly and helpful.
We brought 2 babies (18 months) with us, they also had a great time, could tell from their face :)

Attending a private tour allowed us to set out immediately for the dolphins when spotted them. Will def. choose to do private tour again next time.

First of all, I want to point out that all explanations from the reception until the end were in English. There was no broken Japanese, so those who can't speak English have to tough it out... (laughs) However, they conveyed the important parts through gestures, so I was able to understand somewhat.

Whether it was the location or just luck, we were able to see a lot of sea turtles. I left my smartphone on the boat, so I couldn't take any pictures, but having a water-resistant camera would be even better.

After snorkeling, we went sailing, and the sailing time was longer than I expected (laughs). Many people ended up feeling seasick, so motion sickness medication is a must.

That said, it was a course where we could enjoy beautiful fish, sea turtles, and the atmosphere of Hawaii on the boat, and I had a great time!

シュノーケリングが終わったあとはセーリングなのですが、セーリングの時間が思った以上に長いです(笑)船酔いしてしまう人が続出だったので、酔い止めは必須です。

とはいえ、綺麗な魚もウミガメも船上でハワイの風などの雰囲気も楽しめるコースとなっており、とても満喫出来ました！

The staff are dedicated to ensuring everyone has a great time, so you can enjoy the experience safely and happily. With Japanese staff members Miki and Yuya present, there's no need to worry; they make sure you have fun. I was able to meet several types of dolphins and sea turtles, and it was enjoyable once again.

The waves were higher than during my last experience in the summer, and it was windy and cold when we went out to sea, with the water temperature also being low. I wore a rash guard to prevent sunburn, but the wet rash guard got cold in the wind, and I was shivering the whole time. Since you can move around freely during the experience, you might get sunburned, but the scenery is wonderful, and I recommend staying on the second floor to combat seasickness and the cold.

The marine activities were fantastic, especially the slide from the boat! Professional photographer Yuya created bubble rings for us. I’m looking forward to the photos.

I’m grateful for the wonderful staff and scenery.

前回夏に体験した時よりも波が高く、沖に出ると風も冷たく、水温も引くかったです。日焼け防止にラッシュガードを上下着用していましたが、風があたると濡れたラッシュガードが冷えてしまい、終始震えていました。途中から席の移動が自由に出来るので、日焼けはしますが、景色も素晴らしいですし、船酔いと寒さ対策には2階にいることをおすすめします。

マリンアクティビティは、船からのスライダーが最高でした！
プロカメラマンの裕也さんがバブルリングをやってくれました。今から写真が楽しみです。

It was my first participation since Dolphin University in 2019. Dolphin University has a large number of participants and a big boat, but Dolphin Junior High has fewer participants, so the boat is smaller, and those who are prone to seasickness should be careful. Also, since there are no snacks provided for the junior high tour, it might be a good idea to bring something to eat on the bus ride back. The whole crew were so kind and took care of everyone immediately. They checked in on everyone when we were all in the ocean. I went during a solo trip and it was definitely a highlight! Also drank 2 delicious mai tais on the way back. Saw two big turtles and the most beautiful fish all around! Defs book this whether solo or with your own crew!

It was great until we got on the boat, but the waves were so strong that I got seasick and couldn't enjoy it at all. It seems that Japanese people are gathered on the second floor of the boat, but it shakes a lot up there. I definitely think that anyone who gets motion sickness should avoid this. During our time, we couldn't even see any dolphins. Honestly, I felt like I wanted at least a little bit of my money back.

船に乗るまでは良かったですが、波がすごくて船酔いして全く楽しめませんでした。

The captain and crew were engaging, fun and so very very kind. As a heavy traveler I don’t often put myself out there unless I KNOW I can do all of the activity. I was worried about being able to get out of the water after snorkeling. They never once made me feel like I was a pain, uncomfortable, or “less than” that is not a typical experience, so not only did they get my business for the snorkeling trip, I also went on their sunset cruise for the next two days. I will shout their praises to the rooftops!

The pick-up and drop-off times were on schedule. The crew mostly spoke English and had little understanding of Japanese, but they were cheerful and provided very good service. I was unable to see any dolphins.

Overview:
The meeting point is the Holocai Catamaran booth located on the beach side of the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort on the first floor of the hotel. If you're unsure, you can enter the hotel from the Steak Shack side and walk towards the abc store to find it.

There, you check in. There are about 12 participants. Since the boat will be moored on the sandy beach, you'll need to take off your sandals to board. About four strong men will be your guides. They look impressive, like old-time sailors from a movie. As I listened to the explanations (in English), we soon moved to an area where we could see honu (sea turtles). (I didn't feel much rocking.) Most participants were foreigners, with only a few Japanese. You can borrow snorkeling sets and life jackets. Wearing the jacket is mandatory, but whether to inflate it is up to personal judgment. Beginners should inflate it, while experienced snorkelers who want to dive can keep it deflated. The spots where honu are found are crowded with various tour groups, so we shared the space and slowly approached the honu together. そこで受付。参加人数は12名ほど。砂浜にボートがつくのでサンダルを脱いで乗船。屈強な男たち4名ほどがガイドをしてくれる。かっこいい。映画の中の昔の船乗りみたいにかっこいい。なんとなく説明(英語)を聞いているといつの間にかホヌ(ウミガメ)がいる辺りに移動。(あまり揺れは感じませんでいた)参加者の多くは外国人。日本人はわずか。借りれるのはシュノーケリングセットと救命ジャケット。ジャケットは着用マストだがふくらませるかどうかは個人判断。初心者なら膨らませ、経験者で潜水したい場合は空気を入れなければ良い。ホヌがいるスポットは様々はツアーの客が群がっているので、譲り合ってゆっくりみんなでホヌに近づく。息継ぎのために水面まで上がってくるホヌを一定の距離を保ちながら観察。ガイドがフレンドリーに説明をしてくれたりどっちに行くかを案内してくれる。ただ後半は段々と統率がなくなってきて自由に行動し始めるので、たまには顔を上げてガイドがどこにいるのか、またはホロカイ！と声を上げているほうへ泳いで迷子にならないように。水下にホヌがいたときは、水中カメラを持っている客から(私はgopro)借りて、ガイドが下まで潜って間近で撮影してくれた。とてもいい思い出。ある程度観察したら船に戻り、残りの時間をワイキキの海をセーリングしながら自由時間。ソフトドリングは無料。アルコールは有料(購入時だけIDが必要。その予定なければIDは要らない)参加者各々が自由に写真を撮ったり船先端にある網？の上で寛いだり…ガイドは常に明るく接してくれたり、日本から来たとわかると少し覚えている日本語を話してくれたり…かなりゆったりと時間を過ごしながら帰路へ…

感想：
もちろんその日の天気や波に寄りますが、私の場合、揺れはほとんど気にならず、とても快適に過ごせました。日本語フレンドリーではありませんし、完全にネイティブのノリや喋り方ですが、そこまで難しいことは言いませんししませんし、聞けばとてもフレンドリーに教えてくれます。天気がいい場合、日焼けするので長袖やサングラスを持ってくと良いと思います。水中カメラはあれば是非とも持っていくことをおすすめします。
船から降りた後は目の前にステークシャックがあるので、そのままお昼に食べました。

もちろん海外なノリが多いため、苦手な方は考慮されたほうが良いですが、とても気分の良い、南国にきたなーーーーと思える体験でした。特に何を強要されるわけでもなく、各々が自由に旅行を謳歌している、そんな雰囲気でした。
