I was really hoping for a completely sandy sandbar, so it was a bit disappointing that there was about 30cm of water left. But that's just a matter of the tides, so it can't be helped. It was a wonderful feeling to walk in the sea.
I was also happy to meet a sea turtle while snorkeling!
However, maybe because there were too many people on the tour? It felt like I was mostly just looking at people's feet while swimming nearby, which was disappointing.
The guide, Izumi, and all the staff were very nice. Thank you!

Walking on the water felt even better than I imagined. While snorkeling, I was able to see fish, and it was truly moving to see a sea turtle swimming right in front of me. Even those who can't snorkel can enjoy seeing fish while walking on the water, making it fun for children as well.

Crew was great and very friendly did a good job making the minority English speaking tourists feel welcome. Would have appreciated a little more tour of the waters around that side of Oahu rather than pointing at various things and saying there's Gilligan's island as we headed back at end of day.

I arrived in Honolulu on the morning of November 20 and participated in a tour that afternoon. The next day was my son's wedding, so it felt like a bit of a mix between the two events, but of course, this was my first trip to Hawaii for the wedding.

I was searching for a tour at the last minute and hoped to join one the day after the wedding, but there were no openings. I really wanted to participate in this tour, and since it was available the day before, I made an immediate reservation. I had only snorkeled once a year and a half ago, borrowing equipment at a hotel in Cebu and trying it out on the hotel's private beach in shallow water. At that time, I only saw a few dark fish.

When the tide went out, I realized how limited my experience had been, and I really wanted to try snorkeling with an instructor at least once and hoped to see a honu (sea turtle), so I signed up.

Alan picked us up from the hotel on time. He spoke Japanese well and was very friendly. That day's participants included us, aged 62 and 58, and a young couple. We stopped by a shop to fit our equipment. As soon as we entered, Alan said, "Today we will dive 30 meters." What?! I was half serious about it. Maybe I was just nervous since I had just arrived in Honolulu that morning. Alan, with a friendly smile, reassured me that he was joking, sensing my tension and trying to ease it.

We arrived at Hanauma Bay and took a picture with a view of the bay. After watching a video, we headed to the beach. There was a brief explanation of how to use the equipment and how to breathe. We stored our important belongings in a large box, locked it, and secured it to a tree with a chain. After using the restroom, we headed to the sea.

We practiced a bit in the shallow water, about waist-deep, and then paired up, holding hands and following Alan. We were able to see various fish, both small and large, and I was especially happy to see a honu. The honu swam leisurely, and I thought to myself that I wanted to live life just as leisurely. Alan held my hand along the way, making it easy for me to enjoy the experience with my husband in between us. I felt completely at ease, even in deeper water, and it was fun. We wore life jackets, and with Alan around, I felt safe.

The snorkel mouthpiece was a bit uncomfortable, though. If it loosened, water would come in from the side, so I had to occasionally lift my head and adjust it. I snorkeled two more times during this trip, but I no longer felt discomfort in my mouth. I guess I was just tensing up. We swam for quite a while in Hanauma Bay, so I didn't feel too tired in the water, but once we got back on land, my legs were fatigued. However, I felt refreshed; it was a fun experience on my first day in Hawaii. Thank you, Alan. To the young couple we were with, wishing you happiness, thank you.

その日の参加は、私達62歳と58歳、そして若いカップル一組。
ショップに立ち寄り用具合わせ。
ショップに入ってアランさんが開口一番、今日は３０メートル潜ります。
えっ？！
私は半分マジになりました。
朝ホノルルに着いたばかりでそれだけ緊張していたのかも。

ハナウマ湾に到着。湾を一望できる所で一枚パチリ。ビデオを見てからビーチへ。

砂浜の、腰くらいの深さの所で少し練習し、ペアで手をつないでアランさんについていきました。

小さな魚や大きな魚などいろいろ見ることができ、何と言ってもホヌに会えたので嬉しかったですね。
ホヌはゆったりと泳いでいました。わたし達もゆったり生きていきたいですねえ。
途中アランさんが手を引いてくれて、私はダンナとサンドイッチで楽ちんでした。
深い所でも全然不安もなく、楽しかったです。救命胴衣もつけるし、アランさんもいるので安心です。
シュノーケルをくわえる口元が、少ししんどかったかな。緩むと横から水が入ってくるので、時々顔をあげてくわえ直しました。この旅行でこの後2回シュノーケリングしましたが、口元のしんどさは感じなくなりました。たぶん、余分な力が入っていたのでしょうね。
ハナウマ湾でかなりの時間泳いでいたので、海の中ではあまり感じなかったけれど、陸にあがったら足が疲れてました。
でも気分爽快、初ハワイ初日の、楽しい体験でした。

I went on a sandbar tour during the cold period at the end of November, which was not during low tide. It was certainly beautiful, but not as impressive as I expected. I went in early October in the morning, but it was too cold that day, and I hardly went into the sea. It might have been more enjoyable if I had gone in the middle of summer. The Japanese conductor was considerate and provided good service. Considering the time constraints, I was tied up from around 8:30 to 2 PM, so it might not have been necessary to go. It was at a level where it was okay to experience it once.

The time I went (in the afternoon) might not have been the best, but there weren't many shallow areas as I expected, and it didn't feel like a place where you could walk on the sandy beach. Some people who didn't bring their swimsuits couldn't get off the boat, which was unfortunate. A swimsuit is a must! The snorkeling was also just a little bit, so I think it would have been better if we could have gone to more places and experienced it for a longer time. However, the sea turtles were friendly, and although you're not supposed to touch them, one came up to me and playfully tapped my thigh with its flipper (laughs). It was really cute! ♪

I visited on December 6, 2013. This time, I was picked up from Ko Olina, so it was very easy with only about a 30-minute ride. It saves about an hour compared to going from Honolulu, so I especially recommend it for those staying in Ko Olina. This tour had about 20 participants, with a wide age range from their 20s to 60s, which made it feel cozy and nice. The guide spoke only in Japanese, which made me feel very comfortable participating. From the port, we took a boat for about 20 to 30 minutes to reach an area where dolphins might be. The boat also passed through stunning scenery, so we could enjoy the views. The captain found a spot where dolphins were likely to be and prepared for snorkeling. After jumping into the water, we encountered a large group of dolphins just one minute later! There were about 20 dolphins gracefully swimming slowly about 7 to 8 meters away. I was surprised at how quickly we found them! After the group moved away, we returned to the boat and headed to the next spot. The second encounter was amazing, with a group of 30 to 40 dolphins. Furthermore, the dolphins came up close, just about 3 meters away. I could even hear their sounds, and it truly felt like we were swimming together. I recommend this experience for families, couples, and friends. The guide mentioned that encounters like this happen only about twice a year...

２０１３年１２月６日に行ってきました。今回はコオリナからのピックアップでしたので、片道３０分程でとても楽々でした。ホノルルから行くより１時間くらいは時間短縮出来るので、コオリナの宿泊の方は特にお勧めです。今回は２０名ほどのツアーで、年齢層も２０代～６０代と幅広くこじんまりした感じで良かったです。ガイドもすべて日本語でとても安心して参加できました。港からは約２０分～３０分ほど船に乗り、イルカのいそうな場所へ向かいます。この船も絶景を通るので景色も堪能できます。船長がイルカのいそうな現場を見つけシュノーケル準備。海に飛び込み１分後、早速イルカの大群に遭遇！！！推進７～８メートルくらいを２０頭ほどで優雅にゆっくりと泳いでます。こんなにすぐ！という感じでビックリ！一旦群れが去ったので船に戻り、次のスポットへ。２回目が凄く、群れが３０～４０頭。更にはイルカも上昇してきて、距離はわずか３メートルほど。泣き声も聞こえ、本当に一緒に泳いでいる感じでした。ご家族やカップルお友達同士、様々な方にお勧めです。※年に２回ほどは遭遇出来ないとガイドさんがおっしゃってました・・・。

I was amazed at how wonderful the underwater scenery was with the guidance of an expert guide. This trip was with friends, and one of them was experiencing snorkeling for the first time. At first, she was scared and her face was tense, but as the guide held her hand, she started to smile, and by the end, she said she wanted to go snorkeling again soon. I participated with two friends. It had been my dream to swim with dolphins in Hawaii, so I had high expectations.

On the day of the tour, our guide, Su-san, was very entertaining, and we had a great time in the car on the way there.

Once we got into the water, it took a while for the dolphins to come close, but we were thrilled to see 5 to 8 dolphins swimming right below our group! It was so exciting! Later, when we moved to swim with the fish, we had fun feeding the beautiful tropical fish. I also saw a turtle swimming very close to me (probably within 1 to 2 meters) as it returned to its underwater habitat! That was also incredibly moving! I didn't see it, but I heard there were sea lions as well.

In addition to the dolphins and turtles, the scenery of the surrounding mountains was stunning. The weather was nice, and the divine, quintessentially Hawaiian landscape was absolutely beautiful.

Although it’s not a cheap tour, given the richness of the experience in just half a day, it was worth every penny! I heard there are tours where you can swim with manta rays on the Big Island, so if I get the chance, I definitely want to go! I had such a great time!

当日は、ガイドのすーさんが非常に面白く行きの車の中から楽しかったです。

海に入ってからはなかなかそばにイルカが来てくれなかったのですが、何と、自分たちのグループの真下をスーと5～8匹のイルカが泳いで行ったのを見れました！！大興奮！！
その後移動してお魚たちと泳いだ時も、綺麗な熱帯魚？たちに餌をあげれて楽しかったです。亀も自分のすぐ近く（たぶん1～2メートル範囲）をスーと泳いで、水中のすみか？に帰って行くのを見れました！これも大感動！私は見れなかったですが、アシカもいたとか。
また、イルカや亀だけではなく周辺の山側の景色も素晴らしかったです。天気が良かったこともあり、神々しくハワイらしい景色が非常に良かったです。

決して安いツアーでは無いですが、半日でこの充実ぶりなら惜しくない！！
ハワイ島ではマンタと泳げるツアーもあるとのことでしたので機会があれば絶対行きたいです。本当に楽しかった！！

We participated as a couple (meeting in the afternoon) and were very satisfied. The tour was enjoyable with Japanese announcements that brought laughter until we arrived at the sandbar. At the sandbar, sea turtles frequently approached, so we had no shortage of photo opportunities (laughs). The meal was filling, making it perfect for spending the entire afternoon!

Had an Amazing time!! Traveled with hubby and 2 son's 17 & 19 yrs old. My mom was a 1st time snorkel and Makani I hope that's how you spell his name (Sorry) was awesome, he was very sweet and patient. He made sure that we were very comfortable. Would def book with him again! FYi 3rd time snorkeling and by far this was the best!

I participated in the honeymoon trip in November. Our guide, Alan, was friendly and spoke Japanese well, which made it very easy to get along! The tour is fine even if you can't speak English! I had an amazing time, even though it was my first experience with snorkeling!

Since I participated from Kailua, I headed to the location without a shuttle. There is no tour desk at the site, so be careful as the meeting point is at a specific location. (I ended up going to the tour desk of another tour company.)

Since I used the second boat, we were able to use the large boat from Dolphin University, which was lucky because I got to eat a cheeseburger on the way back. The boat from Dolphin Junior High looked quite small, so that was good, but my friend got seasick and was throwing up, so it's best for those who get motion sickness to take medication before boarding. I also rented a wetsuit for $10. It serves as sunscreen and helps you float to some extent without a life jacket, so I recommend it.

We saw a lot of dolphins on the way to the point. I was excited to see baby dolphins jumping and being quite friendly. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any sea turtles at the point, but we enjoyed snorkeling there. The local staff were fishing.

It was a shame that there was no photographer accompanying us this time, so we didn't have any photos. ウミガメは残念ながらポイントにいっても発見できなかったのですが
そこではシュノーケルを楽しみました。
ロコのスタッフは魚を釣ってました。

今回、カメラマンが同行しなかったので写真が無くて残念でした。
毎回同行するわけではないようなので、使い捨ての水中カメラは持って行ったほうが安心です。防水カメラを持っていった友人はハウスをつけていなかったためか、途中で動かなくなってしまったようでした。
また、荷物入れはベンチの下で完全に防水なわけではないのでビニール製などの口が閉じるビーチバックを持って行ったほうがいいと思います。

帰りがけに息継ぎをするウミガメも見られてミッションコンプリートとなりました。
イルカが好きなら絶対楽しめるアクティビティですね。

シュノーケリングポイントについたとき、すぐに海亀が現れました。船上から見ることができて、もうそれだけで８０％満足した私ですが、なんと水中から間近に見ることもできました。

息継ぎにあがってくるのはほんの一瞬なので、遠くに発見しても泳いでも間に合いません。でもたまたま近くに上がってきて、急いで近寄りました。感動でした。

我が家は無謀にも２歳、４歳、６歳を連れての参加だったのですが、どの子があがるときにもガイドさんたちが手を差し伸べてくれて船に上げてくれたり、大丈夫か声をかけてくれたり。

子どもたちはすぐにあがってしまい、子守役にパパが船上に。

チップは船上にある透明の巨大なペットボトルみたいなものに入れるのですが、なんとなく彼には個人的にチップをはずませて差し上げたくて、でもチップの入れ物はあるし、彼にだけ渡してしまうにしても、そっちの容器にも入れるから全額渡すわけにもいかないし、でも中途半端な金額渡すのって変だし・・・と悩んでしまい（このへんが慣れない日本人ぽい・・・）結局ボトルに入れるだけにしてしまいました。彼に１０ドルでも２０ドルでも渡せば良かったかも・・・。

I definitely want to try this again at a different time.
