I was looking forward to this, so I was shocked by the way the Japanese female instructor spoke from a condescending perspective. When someone else, who is also Japanese, asked a question, she would interrupt and talk about herself instead. When I asked about the condition of the ocean, her only response was that I wouldn't know unless I looked at the sea. If she had already conducted this tour in the morning, I think there could have been a better way to reassure the customers with her answers. As a professional, I really wanted her to answer the customers' questions properly.

The view from the entrance of Hanauma Bay was breathtaking. The snorkeling was quite challenging, and perhaps the conditions weren't suitable that day. I have participated in various snorkeling tours before, but for the first time, I felt like I shouldn't have come. She mentioned that she would take photos with a GoPro, but there was no explanation when it turned out to be broken or unusable; it was just left at that. During the pickup, she stayed seated in the driver's seat without getting out of the car and just said, "Thank you." It felt like she mistook me for a friend. goproで撮影してくれると言っていましたが、壊れたか何かで使えないと何の説明もなく、
そのままでした。
送迎時には車から降りず運転席に座ったまま　ありがとうございました　でした。
友達と勘違いなさってますね。。
お金を払って短いハワイ旅行の中でこのツアーを選んだことに後悔しかありません。
人それぞれ感じ方はあると思いますが私は不愉快に感じました。

In conclusion, it was incredibly fun!!!!!!!

This was my first solo trip abroad. I was looking for an optional tour to go snorkeling and discovered this tour. It was my second time in Hawaii, and I had seen quite a few sites mentioning that the west side could be dangerous, so I hadn’t researched it for my first visit. But when I found out there was a tour that would take us to the west side, I quickly made a reservation. Of course, since I was participating alone, I had some anxiety, but the moment I met our guide Akima, all my worries disappeared.

This time, there was a Japanese couple, and in addition to them, there were also some international participants (I couldn't identify their countries...), so perhaps that’s why two guides, Akima and a man named Bob, were with us. I regretted not studying English properly, as I could have talked with Bob and the others if I could speak it.

Akima explained various things in an interesting and easy-to-understand manner, including legends and the origins of power spots, as well as Hawaii's history, the mindset of the Hawaiian people, their way of life, and current situations, sometimes in a quiz format. This made the time spent in the car and during sightseeing enjoyable. In fact, I wanted to ask even more questions.

Regarding snorkeling, it was disappointing that I didn’t get to see a turtle (only Bob found one, but it was deeper in the water, so we couldn’t see it from the surface, haha). However, I had fun touching a sea urchin and having it placed on my head (of course, Akima gently returned it to the sea), and I got to see fish that can only be found in Hawaii. I thought I’d like to be able to do some free diving, even if it’s not full-on.

Oh, I learned that while the west side wasn’t safe over ten years ago, that’s not the case anymore in recent years.

I definitely want to request other tours, like a private tour, next time! It would be fun to go hiking together too♪

I look forward to it again!!!

今回、初めて海外へのひとり旅でした。
１日はオプショナルツアーでシュノーケリングしたいなと探していたところ、このツアーを発見。
ハワイは２回目で、西は危ないと書かれているサイトもけっこう見かけていたので１回目は調べもしていなかったのですが、西に連れて行ってくれるツアーあるんだ♪ってことでさっそく予約。
もちろんひとり参加だったので多少の不安はあったのですが、ガイドのあきまさんにお会いした瞬間、その不安はなくなりました。

今回は日本人のご夫婦がいらっしゃって、それ以外に海外の方(国はわかりませんでしたが、、、)も参加されており、そのためかBobさんという男性とあきまさんのお二人がガイドしてくれました。英語がしゃべれたらその方やBobさんともお話できたんだけどなぁと、英語をちゃんと勉強していかなかったことを悔やみました。

パワースポットについての伝説や名前の由来などはもちろん、ハワイの歴史やハワイの方々の考え方、暮らし、状況など、いろいろなことをあきまさんが面白くわかりやすく、ときにクイズ形式で説明していただけるので、車に乗っている間も観光中も満喫できました。
というか、まだまだいろいろ聞いていたかったぐらいです。

シュノーケルについては、カメに会えなかったのは残念でしたが(Bobさんだけ見つけてましたが、海の下のほうだったので海面にいた私たちには見えませんでした笑）、ウニを触ったり頭に乗っけてもらったり（もちろん、丁寧にあきまさんが海に戻しておりました）、ハワイにしかいない魚が見られたりと、楽しかったです。
フリーダイビングまではいかなくても、ある程度の素潜りできるようになりたいと思いましたね～。

あ、西は１０年以上前は治安がよくはなかったが、近年はそのようなことはないとのことです。

ぜひ、次回はプライベートツアーなど他のツアーもお願いしたいです！
ハイキングとかもご一緒できたら楽しそうです♪

I was alone, but I had no problems and enjoyed myself. I was able to see dolphins as soon as we arrived at the spot. I was surprised that I could see so many dolphins up close like that. The scenery felt unreal. The snorkeling at the next location was also wonderful, with the beautiful blue sea and colorful fish swimming everywhere. I even saw a turtle, so I was very satisfied.

Seconds after we got to the snorkeling spot, one of the guides emerged from the water holding an octopus, which everyone got to see and interact with. There were probably 7 or 8 sea turtles of all sizes and ages around us the whole time we were in the water, in addition to the tropical fish and moray eels on the reef. It was absolutely incredible.

It was a tour that was definitely worth the early morning wake-up! Although the weather was unfortunately cloudy, a pod of dolphins came right in front of us, and we were able to swim with them. I was moved to see a baby dolphin as well! The snorkeling was fantastic, and we got to see sea turtles up close. Thanks to taking motion sickness medication beforehand, I didn't feel sick at all and had a fun day.

The crew members were wonderful people who always kept us entertained, so I definitely want to participate again. Next time, I’d like to join a manta ray tour on the Big Island!

Unfortunately, it rained on and off from the morning, but after we set sail, the weather cleared up a bit and we were able to enjoy the tour. The guide was full of energy, and while the customers seemed to struggle a bit to keep up with her enthusiasm (laughs), we appreciated her consideration for us with children.

Once we set sail, we started with turtle watching, but the turtles are smaller than dolphins and only come to the surface for a moment, so I wasn't able to see any swimming turtles. However, we were lucky to spot some turtles basking on the rocks, and I was able to take some good photos. The sandbar had decent tides that day, so the water depth was around my ankles to my calves. It was a strange feeling standing in a place far from land.

After taking photos, I stayed on the sandbar with my kindergarten-aged daughter while my husband and elementary school-aged child went snorkeling. The snorkeling group swam in a line with the guides, but the people in front weren't moving very quickly, causing quite a traffic jam for those in the back, leading to some bumping into each other. I understand that the swimming abilities of the participants played a role in this, but I wish we could have swum a bit more freely.

While the snorkeling was a bit disappointing, I think we had a fun and enjoyable tour overall. Thank you very much.

この日はあいにく朝から雨が降ったり止んだりでしたが、出航後は少し晴れてツアーを楽しむことができました。ガイドのお姉さんは元気いっぱいでそのテンションにお客さんが若干ついていけてない感じもありましたが（笑）子連れの私たちを気遣ってくれてありがたかったです。出航するとまずウミガメウォッチングですが、ウミガメはイルカより小さく水面に出るのが一瞬なので泳いでいるカメは私は見られませんでした。ですが運よく甲羅干し中のカメたちがいて、しっかりと写真に撮ることもできました。サンドバーは潮がそこそこいい日だったので水深は足首～ふくらはぎくらい。陸地から離れた場所に立っている不思議な感覚が味わえました。写真撮影後、私は幼稚園児の娘とサンドバーに残りましたが夫と小学生の子供はシュノーケルへ。シュノーケル組はガイドさんたちと一列になって泳ぐのですが、前の人たちがなかなか進まず後ろの方はかなり渋滞して、手足がぶつかったりと大変だったとのことです。参加者の泳力の問題もあるので仕方ないとは思いますが、もう少しフリーで泳げたらよかったなぁと思います。シュノーケルは少し残念でしたが、他は楽しくいいツアーに参加できたと思います。ありがとうございました。

The guide was very knowledgeable, so I was never bored listening to him! Touring while hearing about history and trivia allowed me to feel nature more deeply, making it a very memorable and stimulating experience! During the afternoon snorkeling, I was lucky enough to encounter a sea turtle, and although we can't touch them due to the law, it came very close to us, and I was completely charmed by its cuteness! We participated as a family with our 1-year-old and 4-year-old children. It was their first time cruising. Fortunately, they didn't get seasick and were very satisfied with the beautiful sea and delicious hamburgers. The water level at the sandbar was high that day, so the kids couldn't put their feet in (but it wasn't a problem since I was holding them). We also got to see sea turtles, and it was a fun experience that created great memories.

I really wanted to go to the sandbar, and although I had given up because reservations were full, it seems there was a cancellation just before my departure. Checking VELTRA every day until the last minute paid off!

The weather was cloudy in the morning, but it was sunny at the location, making it incredibly beautiful! When I first got off the boat, I was surprised by how deep the water was. At 158 cm tall, I was submerged up to my chest. It probably varies by season, but those who are shorter should be cautious at first. However, after moving a little further in, I was able to walk, and the water was indeed beautiful! We also saw plenty of sea turtles. Later, we went snorkeling at another spot, but my husband and I stayed on the boat to watch everyone. The sea turtles swam quite close to those snorkeling.

Here are some notes I remember, which might be helpful for those planning to go:

- If you use a waterproof case for your smartphone (available at ABC Store) for too long, a "High Temperature Warning" message will appear on the screen, making it unusable! I wanted to take photos and videos the whole time, but be careful.
- During lunch, it's a buffet style on the boat, so there will be quite a line. Therefore, those who come out of the water early should line up as soon as possible.
- The wind is strong on the boat, so be careful as various items (like lettuce and snacks) on your lunch plate may blow away.
- There is a restroom on the boat, which is reassuring. However, the flushing mechanism can be a bit confusing at first. You need to press a larger lever located under the toilet to flush.
- If you just want to enjoy the scenery, you can stay on the boat the whole time, so you can participate with peace of mind.

Overall, it was a very satisfying tour! I would love to do it again!

どうしても行きたかったサンドバー、予約いっぱいで諦めてましたが、直前にキャンセルが出たのか?出発直前までVELTRAさんを毎日チェックしていた甲斐がありました。

天気は朝は曇ってましたが、現地では晴れたのでメチャメチャ綺麗でした♪
最初、船から降りた時には海が深くて驚きました。身長１５８で、胸がすっぽり隠れるくらいまで浸かってしまいました。時期によって違うのでしょうが、身長の低い方は最初要注意です。でも少しだけ進むと歩けるようになり、海はやっぱり綺麗でした！！
そしてウミガメもいっぱい見れました。後半別の場所でシュノーケリングをするのですが、私たち夫婦は船上でみなさんの様子を見てましたが、シュノーケリングしてる方のかなり近くまでウミガメが泳いでました。
以下、箇条書きで覚えている事を記載するので、これから行く方の参考に少しでもなれば♪

・スマホの防水ケース（ABCストアで売ってる）をずっと使用してるとスマホの画面に「高温注意」という文字が出て使用不可になる！ずっと写真、動画撮っていたいですが、注意です。
・ランチの時は船内でバイキング形式で順番に取っていくので、かなり並びます。なので、海から早く上がった人は早めに並んだ方が◎。
・船上は風が強いので、ランチのプレートに乗せた色々（レタスとかスナックとか）飛ばされるので注意です。
・船内にもトイレがあるので安心です。が、水の流し方が一見分かりにくいです。便器の下にある大き目のレバー？みたいなのを押すと流れます。
・景色だけ楽しみたい方は、ずっと船上にもいれるので安心して参加できます。

全体的に大満足のツアーでした＾＾
またリピートしたいです！

We had Dan for our guide. On the drive out to the bay he gave us lots of useful information about the local culture. He was upbeat and very knowledgeable. At the bay he was organized and took very good care of us. We had serveral who were snorkeling for the first time and he made them feel very comfortable. As an added bonus he takes pictures of your trip and posts them to FB so you can grab them. No extra charge! Cool! I would highly recommend this excursion

We participated in this tour as a couple on our honeymoon. The weather was great, and we enjoyed snorkeling in the beautiful, clear sea! It was amazing to swim close to dolphins and sea turtles. After researching about the sandbar, I found that it's recommended to visit on days when the water depth is below zero meters at low tide, so I chose a perfect day to participate.

However! When I arrived, the water depth was around knee height. I couldn't encounter the sandbar floating in the sea.

The snorkeling afterwards was also not satisfactory in terms of visibility and the number of fish. According to a local lady, it was due to several days of heavy rain. I think those who want to enjoy snorkeling properly should arrange a separate opportunity to do so.

Although the sandbar and snorkeling did not meet my expectations, the guides on the boat were very kind and pleasant, making the tour itself enjoyable.

After practicing snorkeling at the sandbar, playing beach volleyball, and enjoying a delicious lunch, we searched for sea turtles from the boat. Snorkeling in the vast coral reef was enjoyable even for someone like me who isn't a strong swimmer! Also, the guide (a young woman) had an incredible way of taking photos!

Regarding the western tourist spots, she humorously shared local legends and stories while guiding us.

As for the snorkeling, she not only showed us fish, coral, and turtles but also discovered dolphins a bit offshore and helped two of our companions, who weren't strong swimmers, by pulling them along on a float. I recently visited Hawaii after a long time, and since it was my friend's first trip to Hawaii, I was in charge of planning the itinerary. After debating between a "local guide" and a "niche tour," I decided on this tour.

First, I was surprised that our guide was a woman! Since it was advertised as "West Oahu where no one goes," I was curious about what kind of local guy would show up, but…

There were really no Japanese people at the beach! I felt like this was exactly the kind of tour I was looking for, and my excitement was through the roof. The supermarket was filled with locals, and I loved the feeling of being in an unfamiliar place.

The caves were also getting crowded with tourists shortly after us, so I thought the timing was perfect. The content included explanations of old legends and myths, and the guide took plenty of photos for us, providing thoughtful assistance throughout. She was knowledgeable about animals and plants, and I never got bored listening to her.

We encountered a pod of dolphins around Yokohama Bay, which got everyone excited.

During snorkeling, we saw not only sea turtles but also sharks. When someone shouted "Shark!" and I turned around, there was a shark about a meter long, and I had the incredibly rare experience of swimming alongside it. I was told it was not aggressive, but it was a bit thrilling.

While it wasn't just a random assortment of fish, we did see colorful fish and schools, which was great.

However, the temperature difference in the water made me feel cold before the turnaround point, and I started to feel seasick. The stops for explanations were the worst for my nausea. I apologize for not being able to hear much during the second half as I was battling my discomfort.

But it would have been better if I hadn't gotten seasick… Even if you can't swim and use a float, you still feel the waves while holding onto it… (laughs) It was fine while I was biting down on the snorkel, but the moment I took it out and tasted the seawater, I felt like I was going to gag (though I didn't throw up).

For lunch, it might be better to keep it light or eat something that can be eaten with your hands in the car on the way back (like bread). I bought a poke bowl for lunch, and they kept anything that needed refrigeration cool, so I felt safe purchasing it!

On the way back to Waikiki, I fell into a deep sleep, and by the time I woke up, I had recovered from my seasickness and was ready to enjoy the evening activities.

まず、ガイドさんが女性なのに驚き！"誰も行かない西オアフ"ってマニアックな事を謳うくらいなのでどんな地元に根付いた兄ちゃんが出てくるのかと思ったら…！

海も本当に日本人いない！こういうツアーを求めてた！！！って感じでテンションはあがりまくり…
スーパーもローカルしかいない所でこのアウェー感がたまらん！状態。
洞窟も私たちのちょい後には外人さんでいっぱいになっていて、時間のチョイスも絶妙だと思いました。
内容も昔ながらの伝説や神話を交えて解説、写真もバシバシ撮って下さるし細やかな対応で助かりました。
動物や植物にも詳しく、聞いていて飽きなかったです。
ヨコハマベイ周辺ではイルカの群れに遭遇で一同盛り上がりました。

シュノーケリングではウミガメだけでなく、サメにも遭遇しました。
サメだ！の声に振り返ると1mくらいのサメがいて、一緒に泳ぐという貴重すぎる体験が出来ました。人を襲わないヤツと言う事でしたが、ちょっとスリルがありましたね。

手当たり次第魚がいると言う感じではなかったですが、カラフルな魚や群れも見られて良かったです。

ただ…割と水の寒暖差でUターンポイント前には体が冷え切り、波には酔う始末。
説明の為に停滞するのが酔いの命取り状態でした^^;;
後半は自分との戦いでほぼ説明が聞き取れずですいませんでした。

寒さを感じやすい方はラッシュガード上下あると良い時期があるかもしれませんね。

しかし、波に酔わなければより良かったです…
泳げなくてNG！なら浮き輪で戻れても…酔いは浮き輪に捕まっていても揺れますしね…(笑
シュノーケルを奥歯でギューっとしている間は良かったのですが、外して海水の味が口に回った瞬間オエっとなりました(吐かなかったけど。
ランチは控えめか、帰りの車の中で失礼した方が良いかもしれません。(パンとか手で食べられるもの)
ランチはポキボウルを買いましたが冷蔵が必要なものは冷やしておいて下さるので安心して購入出来ました！

ワイキキに戻る間にぐっすりいっちゃったので、起きた時には酔いからも回復していて夕方からの遊びもがんばれました。
