Since the premium seats were fully booked, I participated in the standard seats. It was a time of unusual weather with a lot of rain and clouds, but fortunately, it cleared up, and I was able to enjoy the show with a beautiful view of Diamond Head and the ocean. I was satisfied with the variety of entertainment, including singing, hula dancing, live ukulele performances, and a fire show. I attended with my husband and a friend.
We had guaranteed window seats on the second floor, with a jazz live performance.
Since the floor is small, we were able to enjoy both the hula and the performance up close!
There were a few Japanese people as well.
This floor had a dress code, creating an elegant atmosphere, and we had a wonderful time with delicious food and champagne.
We enjoyed the fireworks on the terrace of the top floor!
The only disappointment was forgetting the photos we had purchased when disembarking.

I have used the Star of Honolulu countdown before, and I recommend the Polynesian Show version. The jazz performance I attended previously had a nice, calm atmosphere, but the countdown really needs to be lively! The fireworks were beautifully visible right in front of us. However, the dinner with tough and flavorless steak and an incredibly chewy lobster was quite disappointing, so let's just say that was part of the experience...

An elderly American couple from the mainland celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary and came on a commemorative trip with their daughter and her husband. The husband raised his hand to report this to the host, and everyone congratulated them—typical of America! But I think there were only about two other Japanese couples besides us? We forgot that we were foreigners (laughs).

Had a great time at the Royal Hawaiian luau this week. It was much more than simply hula dancing and a fire show. The performances were short acts telling the story of the Hawaiian culture and history through song and dance. I could feel the passion for Hawaii in the host of the evening as he was setting the scene for each act. Interestingly, he was one of the actors in the original Hawaii 5.0!

Before the show started, it was fun to learn and actually see the process of how Hawaiian people made the material for their clothing. It was actually made of out sticks!

Food was plentiful and tasty with lots of variety. Highly recommended experience. The setting was beautiful on the lawn with the beach and an amazing view of Diamond Head in the background. A very special evening!

What a wonderful evening. Perfect location, beach front right at the heart of Waikiki, with a beautiful views from Diamond Head. The Royal Hawaiian Hotel is the most tradition hotel in Waikiki, the staff is very friendly and always ready to help you.
Before the dinner and the show start you can learn more about Hawaiian traditions. The buffet has a big variety of dishes and the food was very tasty. The drinks were very good too.
The storytelling of the show is very interesting they talk about Hawaiian history starting when the first Polynesians arrived, passing by the Royalty time and until it became the 50th state. The dancers and the singers are fantastic!
Great evening under the starts, good food and friends. I would definitely come back again and I I recommend Aha Aina Luau to everybody!

Every year, I spend New Year's in Hawaii. This year, I decided to spend it on the Star of Honolulu and made a reservation. I chose the most luxurious plan, but when I got there, they packed in too many guests. The view from the front of the second deck was nice, but the amount of food served after 10 PM was overwhelming, and the meat was cold. The service was good, but I could hear the conversations of the people next to me.

The live jazz was great, but the neighboring room on the second deck seemed more casual with its food and had a hula show, which looked like more fun.

About 20 minutes before the countdown, we were guided to a spot where we could see the fireworks easily, but just before it started, there was an announcement in Japanese saying that the view was better from the opposite side. Everyone suddenly started moving to the other side, and when I asked the staff, they said it could be seen from both sides. Since the foreign guests didn't understand the announcement, many stayed put, and in the end, those who didn't move had a great view of the fireworks around Waikiki River and the Rum Fire area.

On the way back, we gathered again for the bus. We waited for about 20 minutes and finally headed home. I feel like it would have been better to watch from Kaka'ako Park.

一番豪華なプランにして、いざ行ってみたら、客を詰め込みすぎ。二階の船の先端で、景色は良いけど食事は22時過ぎから食べきれない量、しかも冷めてるお肉とか。サービスは良いです。席は隣の会話まる聞こえ。
ライブジャズは良かったけど、二階の隣の部屋はリーズナブルな所なのか料理も少しカジュアルで、フラショーなどがあり、そちらの方が楽しそうでした。
カウントダウンの20分前に案内されて花火が見えやすい所を陣取っていたら、直前に日本語で反対から見えます、とアナウンス。一斉に皆反対に行きだし、スタッフに聞いたら反対からも見えますと。外国の方はアナウンスがわからないのでそのままだったりして、結局は移動しない方がワイキキ川、ラムファイヤーのあたりの花火がよく見えました。
帰りはまたバスに集合。20分くらい待ち、ようやく帰路につきました。
カカアコパークから見た方がよかったな、という気がします。

I went with a group of about 10 friends. We are between 21-26. We had a great time there was music playing. 2 drinks of your choice and unlimited champagne. I was wondering if it would actually be unlimited but sure thing I kept my glass and kept going for refills. We had a brilliant view of the fireworks!! We had a blast seeing in the new year. I made a reservation for the premium seats and attended with my daughter. It seemed that the seats were predetermined, as we were guided to a seat overlooking the diamond bed at the front row of the stage when we handed over the voucher at the reception. We shared a table with a 50-year-old American woman who was attending alone and a large Chinese family, and it was enjoyable to communicate in broken English. The atmosphere of the oceanfront garden at the Royal Hawaiian was fantastic, and the buffet had a wide variety of dishes that were quite delicious. The price is high, but I recommend it for those who want to enjoy the show in an elegant setting.
