We participated as a family of three on August 25th (our child is a first-grade boy). I might have been the most excited when we encountered a pod of dolphins. I think it's rare to find a tour where you can swim with them. When we met a turtle, my husband jumped into the sea and touched its shell. Surprisingly, our child got really into paddle surfing and kept challenging himself until the end. It was a truly fulfilling tour that kept both kids and adults engaged. Also, the tour guides were really warm-hearted people, and I definitely want to participate again. Thank you, Yuriko, for keeping the atmosphere lively until the end!

All the attractions were interesting, but I was surprised by the intensity of the waves in the wave pool; it left the biggest impression on me. The large waves are incomparable to the wave pools I've been to in Japan. If you let your guard down, you might get knocked over by the waves and get hurt.
I also participated in a bodyboarding lesson in this big wave pool. It's fun, but for someone like me, an older woman, or for young children in elementary school, it can be physically demanding. The waves are really big, so it can be a bit dangerous; I saw several people who had fallen over and gotten scrapes.
The barbecue lunch was nothing special, but the fruit was delicious. Considering that the only other lunch options available were expensive hot dogs and hamburgers, I thought, "Well, that's okay."
Food and drinks are not allowed to be brought in, and there was an explanation on the bus that bags would be checked at the entrance, but in the end, my bag went unchecked.

But then when we hit the water, I realized it's not such big deal to look like a dork, we all do. The water was amazing until I got hit in the nose by a fellow dork. My snorkling was done at that point. I was greeted by the friendly on board crew and a warm shower. The entire trip was completely worth it. The two above neg's were not a big deal. On August 12, 2009 (Wednesday), our family of three (two adults and one child, age 8) participated. We were worried that the tour might be canceled due to the hurricane forecast for August 11, but it was confirmed to go ahead. Our family is a heavy dolphin fan, having participated in "Private Dolphin Middle School" during the same period in the summer of 2008 and again at the end of 2008, where we encountered dolphins and swam with them both times. This time, we decided to advance to the prestigious Dolphin University, which has upgraded its offerings. Swimming with wild dolphins is extremely rare worldwide and can be considered a high-potential tour. Generally, dolphin watching tours are more common, but Dolphin Middle School and this university allow you to swim with dolphins, making it a worthwhile activity to pay for in Hawaii. Conversely, it’s an experience you can’t have unless you participate in the tour.
Our pick-up was by Yuriko, the class representative from Private Dolphin Middle School, in a yellow van. However, the weather was rainy. It was raining enough in Waikiki that we occasionally needed umbrellas. There were several other groups participating, but the rainy drive dampened the mood. In such circumstances, Yuriko kept our spirits high and encouraged us. We enjoyed freshly made Leonard's malasadas on our way to Waianae Harbor.
Waianae Harbor is located in the West Oahu region, which is a dry area. Because of this, the weather was different from Waikiki, and we were lucky to have cloudy weather with occasional sunshine that day.
Additionally, we were fortunate to encounter a large pod of dolphins just five minutes after departure! We were satisfied to see the dolphins up close, and it was great to hear their sounds. After swimming with the dolphins, we headed to the underwater palace with tropical fish! There, we could swim with turtles and tropical fish, and if we got bored, we could play with kayaks or paddle surfing.
It was a greedy tour with swimming with dolphins, snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles, paddle surfing, and hula dancing.
Lastly, I would like to note the differences between the university and middle school for your reference.
■ Differences ■
? Boat
→ Middle school uses a boat, while the university uses a catamaran.
? Number of times swimming with dolphins
→ Middle school has three times, while the university has one time.
? Meals
→ Middle school provides snacks on the return bus.
?食事

ok this water park was definitely not as advertised as it is undergoing renovations. also, there was no 7-story drop as advertised, there are just some crappy slides in it's place. the park is more directed to kids. not all slides were open, they would alternate opening different one's and the lineups were HUGE as a result. Da Flowrider was a sick ride for anyone wanting a surfing experience, and the simulated wave pool was cool too. The staff were definitely excellent though.
Not recommended for anyone looking for a adrenaline rush from slides!

I was a bit anxious because I have a 5-year-old daughter, but after seeing that younger children were participating on this site, I decided to join in.
Once on board, we sang Hawaiian songs with the local crew and were already having a great time. We were welcomed by a double rainbow and got to see many dolphins in the ocean. I didn't notice, but my son and husband were thrilled to hear the dolphins' chirping sounds, which was a different experience from the aquarium. My daughter couldn't snorkel very well, but they provided special equipment so she could peek at the dolphins underwater.
Along the way, the captain personally grilled cheeseburgers on the boat, which helped soothe our tired bodies. They also showed consideration for my husband, who had lost his appetite due to seasickness, by preparing some food for him to take home as a souvenir.
After moving to a different location, we also had a lot of fun with sea kayaking and feeding tropical fish.
During the activities, a professional photographer accompanied us, and we were able to purchase beautiful family photos with the stunning Hawaiian nature as the backdrop, which became the best souvenir.
Experiencing nature is truly the best!!
I definitely want to participate again when I go to Hawaii.
Thank you, powerful Yuriko! Please send my regards to all the crew.

The luau at Paradise Cove is amazing, which is surprising considering how little it is advertised in tourist information in Japan! It's a fantastic tour that can't be summed up in just one word. An American from the mainland boasted, "You have to see this when you come to Hawaii. It's absolutely unmissable!" It seems to be quite famous in the U.S., and there were people who took vacations just to experience it.
Once you get on the bus, the guide is full of energy, and the tour begins in an exciting atmosphere.
First of all, the location is fundamentally different from the mock luaus held around hotels. The venue is set in a resort area, making it feel like a genuine festival (luau). Participating in various events while watching the sunset over the ocean is a delightful part of the luau experience.
However, if I had to point out one downside from a Japanese perspective, it might be the question of whether the food is suitable for a dinner show. Well, the buffet-style Hawaiian cuisine... might be a bit too bland. Aside from top-tier hotel buffets, this is probably the norm.
But once the lights go down and darkness falls, it becomes truly spectacular! As the spotlight shines and the intense flames dance, the show begins with a mix of enchanting hula performances that drive toward the climax. The excitement and emotion are so overwhelming that the taste of the food fades away.
I was impressed by the service, such as when a shy girl got the chance to go on stage... Truly, this is Hawaii's No. 1 luau! What I think about now that I'm in Hawaii is, "This is something you absolutely can't miss!"

This time, I was able to meet and swim with many dolphins up close. About three pods came by alternately, and they swam around the catamaran for quite a long time.
After that, I went snorkeling and kayaking, enjoyed delicious burgers and fruits made by the staff, and danced the hula on the way back. There really are no misses here! I’ve participated in various ways—group, family, and solo—but the staff always made it fun, and I never felt anxious at all.
The tea service after coming out of the water and the thoughtful gestures during the cruise... the staff's service is top-notch. The cost performance might be a little higher than others, but it’s definitely worth it. I’ll be participating again soon!

I participated with my daughter, who is in the second year of junior high school. I knew this tour would be quite an adventure for Japanese people, but it exceeded my expectations as a native tour. On the large bus, we were the only Japanese, and after the guide mentioned that they didn't understand Japanese, there was not a single word of Japanese for the entire 7 hours. I was quite confident in my English skills, but the rapid-fire talking on the bus, the American jokes, and the translations couldn't keep up. Moreover, the guide encouraged a sense of camaraderie by suggesting handshakes and shoulder rubs with our neighbors to liven up the party (luau)! This was also true at the venue, where we sat at tables by bus, making communication essential. It was challenging in many ways, but it was a fresh Hawaiian show even for me, who has been to Hawaii five times. As someone else wrote, the important thing is to remember your bus number and return time (around 9:30). Once you arrive, there are many free activities until meal time, so participate actively! There are shows like climbing palm trees and net fishing signaled by the conch shell, so be sure to check those out! It's important to participate actively. The Polynesian Cultural Center explains the history and differences of the islands clearly, but this tour was all about participation centered around dance, so they can't be compared. It was a tour that made me truly feel the American spirit of enjoying the moment. If you can think, "It's okay if I don't understand English," it becomes easier. It might be better to have a larger group to enjoy together!

But the fact that we had to share the tour with 10-12 year old boys kind of killed the romantic part of the tour. It's a GREAT experience! We opted for the deluxe dinner package w/ VIP seating and it was well worth it. The only downside to the whole trip was that the bus was late leaving the pickup point (seems to be a regular problem with them for some reason but you quickly learn the meaning of "Hawaii time") so we had less time to check out the grounds but a great time anyway. Cousin Kahale was quite entertaining on the bus and had explained everything to us by the time we got there. Once we arrived we received our leis and were whisked away to begin our VIP treatment. We had a personal escort take us inside, get our complimentary photos taken at the entrance and given a personal tour of the grounds and where to find everything. I would definitely recommend bringing several bucks extra in cash if you're like me and love getting the full experience,

I think this luau show is special. For those who want to spend a memorable Hawaiian night and enjoy the charm of the magnificent dances and spiritual Hawaiian hula, it will surely be a lifelong memory. The location is also fantastic; you can enjoy hula while being tickled by the pleasant sea breeze near the beach, listening to the sound of the waves, and watching the beautiful sunset glowing in vibrant orange.
What makes this show special is its location and atmosphere. You can't experience this in the middle of Waikiki. While being on Oahu, it has a neighborly vibe, and people from the mainland flock to participate in this show, which is said to be the most popular in Waikiki.
I really enjoyed conversing with a family from San Francisco that I met there. I will definitely participate again.

The Surf Bus tour to the North Shore was the best tour that we took. Our driver Justin was awesome. On the tour of the island he was very knowledgable and pointed out lots of things that we would have missed if we had just taken a rental car. This tour also gave us lots of options as far as activities and a choice of beaches to spend time at. Waimea Bay was the best beach on the island and the jumping rock was a lot of fun. I would recomend this tour to anyone!

This time, I went with my family of six.
There were some attractions under construction, which was a bit disappointing, but we had so much fun that we could have stayed all day without getting bored.
In particular, the attractions are more enjoyable with a larger group, as the height differences are more thrilling.
I think it's more fun with a big group than just a couple.
Also, the wave pool was a blast with waves coming one after another, and I ended up with muscle soreness the next day.
I would love to go again when I visit Hawaii.
