It was a good adventure for both of us, my wife and I. The staff was very friendly and we both really liked his guidance. A little improvements could be pressed on snacks and water, which the tour said would provide. I think the value was a bit pricey but overall it was worth it.

It was so much fun! I was able to see a lot of fish. I also saw a mongoose (apparently they live in the rocky mountains behind us).

Since it was my first time snorkeling, I chose this tour with a guide.

I was very anxious because it was my first time, but our guide, Alan, kindly taught me how to use the equipment and how to breathe, so I was able to dive into the sea with peace of mind. While swimming, Alan was always there to lead us, so I didn't get separated. He even took us to some deeper areas. However, I didn't see any sea turtles.

There were so many fish, so close that I could almost reach them. There were beautiful tropical fish as well as some big fish about 50 cm long.

I participated in the morning tour, but it was a bit windy and cold... That was my only complaint. The weather can't be helped, though. I wish the seawater had been warmer; it was quite chilly.

For those who are snorkeling for the first time, it might be better to go with a guide.

　初めてだったのでとても不安でしたが、ガイドのアランさんが丁寧に器具の使い方や、息の仕方などを教えてくれたので、安心して海に潜れました。泳いでいるときはずっとアランさんが引っ張ってくれるのではぐれることはないです。少し深いところにも連れていってくれました。でも海亀は見れませんでした。

お魚たくさんいました。手が届きそうなくらい近くに。綺麗な熱帯魚もいれば、５０ｃｍくらいのでかい魚も。

朝のツアーに参加しましたがちょっと風が強くて寒かった。。。それだけが不満。天候はしょうがないけど。
もっと海水も温かければよかったな。ガチガチでした。



シュノーケリング初体験の方はガイド付きのほうがいいかも。

I really wanted my mother to experience snorkeling, but she can't swim, so I found a tour with a guide.

AMAZING!!!! I have never snorkeled before and this was completely amazing. Our guide showed us great tips on using the mask and how to breathe. I was a little scared but once I got in I did so great as did my family. The only bummer I shall say is there was another couple with us and when we went past the reef to explore where there were not others he panicked which made the whole group go back in. I wish there were two guides, one to take the rest and one to take the others back. I was disappointed we didn't go out but it was still an amazing experience that I will never forget. I gave 5 stars because even though I didn't get to experience the snorkeling further out it was still amazing to see the fish and reef.

Unfortunately, the weather was bad, and we couldn't see the sunrise. There was also no flashlight rental available. Due to Golden Week, there were many Japanese tourists, and nearly ten cars (buses) concentrated at the 6 AM gate opening, causing a traffic jam on the uphill road. The next day, I went fun diving at a different spot, but I found the Hanauma Bay snorkeling to be more interesting. The price is higher than other companies' snorkeling tours, but I think it's worth it.

We had initially scheduled to do the early dive but conditions were bad that morning so we went later. We are glad we did! We saw 6 sea turtles! The guides were very attentive and informative. They kept us in a small group and pointed things out so everyone would get to see them. They even provide a snack and water at the end. This was a great experience and we got some good photos!

Took our son for a graduation gift along with his girlfriend and none of us had never snorkled before so thought the guided tour would be the best option. Allyn (sorry if it's spelled wrong) was our guide and he was awesome. He was very patient and taught us exactly what we needed to do. He was great for helping you not getting overwhelmed since as we found out, snorkeling takes a bit of time to learn. However, once you relax you can enjoy the experience. Not so sure we could have done it on our own. The only suggestion I can make is that the bottled water needs to be cold. It was very warm. Other then that, it was an awesome experience. Well worth the money spent. It's amazing the marine life you can see. We did see a sea turtle and a small eel. Absolutely beautiful. Hope to get a chance to do it again. Don't have my pics back since we used underwater cameras, hopefully I can add them later!

I arranged to meet behind the hotel, but the other person was late, which left me quite confused. I had been waiting there 10 minutes before the meeting time, but in the end, I waited for 30 minutes due to a 20-minute delay.

Since I was overseas and couldn't speak English, I asked the hotel front desk to make a call for me (they left a voicemail), which made me feel very anxious. Because of this, I think I lost about 30 minutes of swimming time.

The weather at the sea was chilly in the morning. By the way, I was able to see turtles at a deep location. That really depends on luck.

I participated with my son. Unfortunately, there were strong winds, and the waves were high, making the water murkier than usual, but thanks to Alan's precise guidance, we were able to see sea turtles up close. My 16-year-old daughter, who was snorkeling for the first time, was worried about not being able to stand in the deeper areas, but the guide held her hand the whole time, so it was fine.

We saw sea turtles—they were so majestic. I was really happy to see them up close.

In November 2009, I participated with my mother, who is in her 60s. Both my mother and I have scuba diving licenses, but since we were going, we wanted to request a guide who knows Hanauma Bay inside and out.

Our guide, Alan, speaks Japanese fluently. My mother seemed a bit anxious since it had been a while since she was last in the ocean, but since we were the only two participants, the guide kindly held my mother's hand and guided us through the water. My mother's face was very happy when we came out of the water.

He knew exactly where the corals and fish were, making for a rich tour experience. I've been to Hanauma Bay several times, but there were many points I could never find on my own.

The guide brought a large cooler-like container where we could store our valuables and the T-shirts we wore. The safety management was excellent.

It was my first time snorkeling. Alan was our guide and he was very patient and friendly! I was a bit afraid of the deep waters and currents, but Alan held my hand the whole time I was in the water and pulled me along. He also gave tips for snorkeling which was very helpful.

Recommend going to an earlier tour at Hanauma Bay if you want to see sea turtles because tides will be higher and they can get closer to the reefs.

Had a great time snorkeling. Mask kept leaking sea water though. Guide was good - very quiet, but let my friends and me take it all in. The safety instructions were quick but succinct.

We were fortunate enough to see several sea turtles, our guide offered when he got his photos to email them to us.

I've been snorkeling in the Bahama's without a guide for the same price. Overall, great experience for a great price.

Unlike Japan, feeding fish in Hawaii incurs a $100 fine! However, there's no need to lure fish with food; I was able to see plenty of them in their natural state! I even saw a large school of jackfish, which was a bit spine-tingling... But with our guide Allen, I felt at ease.

I encountered sea turtles twice; they are so cute when they come up to the surface to breathe, making little "puu" sounds. It's great to see a variety of fish, but watching the sea turtles for a long time is also fascinating.

Allen is a very friendly foreigner who seems to understand almost all of Japanese. Yumi-chan, who experienced this with me, is a beginner at snorkeling, and it seemed she had some trouble with how to hold the mouthpiece, so he guided her several times along the way.

This tour also includes fins, allowing us to swim lightly near the outer bay, and I would definitely love to go again if I have the chance! (*^▽^*)

I'm glad I chose the expert guide. The guide was truly an expert.
There were two other groups besides ours, but everyone except us was white. I was really nervous, thinking, "Wait, this isn't a tour for Japanese people!?" but the guide spoke fluent Japanese. They provided great support, and there were no issues at all.
Since it was January, the sea was cold, but the guide took us out to the ocean, and it was like a dragon palace or an aquarium! There were so many fish! It was an unbelievable sight.
Without the guide, I would never have seen such a view, and if I have the chance to go again, I will definitely choose the expert guide plan again.
Maybe it was the right season, but there were also a lot of turtles.
There are cheaper plans available, but I think choosing this plan was definitely the right decision based on the satisfaction I felt.
I created unforgettable memories that I will cherish for a lifetime.

I participated in this tour in late October. At first, I was considering other cheaper tours, but since my friend can't swim at all and is a beginner at snorkeling, I was also anxious about what might happen, so I decided on this tour with an expert guide.

On the day of the tour, there were four participants: two Japanese and an American mother and daughter. Our guide, Allyn, was very kind and gentlemanly, explaining everything in both English and Japanese. All we needed to bring were the entrance fee for Hanauma Bay, a change of clothes, and a towel. The tram made it easy to go up and down to the bay, and they also took care of our bags, which was reassuring. Since there wasn't any warm-up, it might be a good idea to move our bodies a bit beforehand.

After learning how to put on the mask and fins and practicing floating a little, we went straight into the ocean! Depending on the participants, it might vary, but in our case, we swam continuously and didn't return to the beach until the end. Allyn held hands with two of us on each side, and we swam side by side. Although we were swimming, we didn't kick much; Allyn was pulling us along while we floated. I was surprised at how far out we swam, but we saw fish almost immediately after starting. Soon after, we were able to see sea turtles. Although there were some areas where the water was murky, there were moments when it suddenly cleared up, and we encountered schools of fish and beautifully colored fish right in front of us (I don't know the names of the fish), which was incredibly moving and exciting!

I had previously snorkeled in Ko Olina, but this experience was definitely better. I think the points we swam to would be hard to reach on our own. Most people swimming in Hanauma Bay are in shallow areas, but we went to places much deeper than that.

I participated in the morning, but the seawater temperature was cold. My friend said it was warmer than Waikiki. While swimming, the waves were strong, and it felt a bit scary to go to deeper areas, but wearing life jackets and having an experienced guide made me feel safe. My friend, who was initially anxious, said she had no problems at all.

It was truly, truly fun!!! If you're going to Hanauma Bay to snorkel, I definitely recommend this tour!

最初は金額を考え他にあるもっと安いツアーを検討していたのですが、一緒に行く友達が全く泳げずシュノーケルも初心者ということもあり、何かあったときに私も不安だったので、達人ガイドのいるこのツアーに決めました。

当日の参加者は、私たち日本人２人と、アメリカ人の母娘の計４名。ガイドのAllynは、とても優しく紳士的で、すべて説明も英語と日本語それぞれでしてくれました。
持ち物はハナウマ湾の入場料と着替えとタオルだけ持っていけばOK。湾への上り下りもトラムに乗れてらくちん♪荷物も預かってくれるので安心です。特に準備運動とかしないので、自分たちで体動かしておいたほうがいいかもしれません。
マスクとフィンのつけ方を教わりちょっと浮かぶ練習したら、すぐに海にでました！参加者によって違うかもしれませんが、私たちの場合ここからずっと泳ぎっぱなしで終わるまでビーチには戻ってきませんでした。
Allynが真ん中で両方に２人ずつ手をつないで５人横並びで泳ぎました。泳ぐといってもあまりバタ足をすることもなく、浮かんでる私たちをAllynが引っ張ってくれてました。自分が思ってた以上に沖の方まで泳いでいったのでびっくりしましたが、泳ぎ始めてすぐに魚が見れました。その後すぐにウミガメを見ることができました。海は汐で見えにくいとこもありましたが、いきなり澄んだと思ったら、目の前に魚群やキレイな色の魚に出会えたりと（魚の名前は分かりませんが）、めちゃめちゃ感動と興奮でした！
以前コオリナの方でシュノーケルをしたことがあるのですが、その時よりこっちのほうが断然良かったです。
私たちが泳いで行ったポイントは自力ではなかなか行けれないと思います。ハナウマ湾で泳いでる人のほとんどが浅瀬ですが、その倍以上のところまで行きました。

今回午前中に参加しましたが、海水の温度は冷たかったです。友達はワイキキより暖かかったと言ってますが。
泳いでいると波の力も強いし深いところまでいってちょっと怖いとすら感じましたが、ライフジャケットも着ているし、ベテランのガイドがついているので安心できました。始めは不安がっていた友達も何の問題もなく大丈夫だったと言ってました。

本当に本当に楽しかったです！！！

We used this service during our honeymoon trip to Hawaii in late July. There were three participants, including my wife and me. The guide was fluent in Japanese and very entertaining. My wife struggles with sports and had a hard time getting used to swimming, but the guide patiently supported her until the end. Thanks to that, we heard her say something very positive that she usually wouldn't: "I want to try this again."

Underwater, we were able to see many fish and, believe it or not, a sea turtle! If you only consider the price, there are cheaper options available locally and on other sites, but when you include the services (ticket purchase, bus ride to the bay, snacks, and the guide), I think it's definitely a great deal. I highly recommend it, especially for beginners! If I have the chance again, I would love to participate.

　料金だけで考えると、現地や他のサイトで、もっと安いものもありますが、サービス（入場券購入、湾までのバス利用、おやつ、ガイドなど）を含めると、断然お得だと思いました。特に初心者には絶対お勧め！！
　また機会があれば、是非参加してみたいと思います(^_^)v

This time, our family participated with eight members ranging from 10 to 73 years old across three generations. I was a bit worried about whether the kids and grandparents would be okay... but the two guides were very kind and escorted us, and we even got to meet a honu (sea turtle). Before we knew it, time flew by. If I have the chance again, I would definitely like to join this tour. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Awesome!!! First time snorkeling for our family (3-kids ages 21, 19, 13). Alan was a very good tour guide - patient and knowledgeable & made it easy for us. Our daughter was a bit nervous going over the coral reef so he held her hand until she made it over & then we saw sea turtles which was the highlight. Fish were incredible throughout. Being from Wisconsin, we had an incredible trip and we would sign up to do this again if we get the chance to return. We brought underwater cameras which made it fun for the kids. 5-stars. : )

We participated in a morning tour with my 7-year-old and 10-year-old daughters and my wife, who can't swim. Our guide, Alan, picked us up at the meeting point, and on the way, we stopped by Alan's office to choose fins that fit my feet before heading to Hanauma Bay. Alan is a friendly guy who has lived in Nagoya, so he speaks Japanese quite well.

First, we learned how to wear the mask, breathe, and use the fins. We paired up with the kids and set off holding hands. When we got to deeper water, my younger child got scared, but Alan held their hand too, and the three of us held hands as he took us to various points.

There were many different fish, and they came so close that it felt like we could catch them if we reached out. They swam right in front of us and below us without fleeing. We didn't see any turtles, but we encountered some very large fish and long, slender fish about a meter long. Alan mentioned that turtles don't come to the bay much during low tide because it's shallow.

Towards the end, my daughters and wife got tired and decided to retire, while I asked Alan to take me to another point, which left me very satisfied. I brought a disposable underwater camera, but it was difficult to take pictures while floating. I won't know how well they turned out until I develop the film.

Thanks to the life jacket, my wife, who can't swim, was able to float and enjoyed herself. The kids seemed to have a great time too and were reluctant to leave. Alan was very considerate, so we completed the tour without any worries.

For those considering the tour, here's some helpful information: they provide a fairly large safety box (with a lock), which easily accommodated changes of clothes, towels, and sandals for all four of us. The ride down to the beach was easy since we took a trolley bus (the trolley bus fee seemed to be included in the participation cost). There were also showers and changing areas available.

It's a tour that makes you want to participate again!

ガイドのアランさんがピックアップ場所まで迎えに来てくれ、途中アランさんの事務所により自分の足に合ったフィンを選びハナウマ湾へ出発。アランさんは名古屋に住んでいたことがあるらしく日本語が達者な気さくなオッサンです。
最初にマスクの付け方、呼吸の仕方やフィンの使い方などを教わり、大人と子どものペアで手をつなぎ出発。深い所に行くと下の子が怖がってしまいましたが、アランさんも子どもの手をつないでくれ3人で手をつなぎいろんなポイントに連れて行ってもらいました。
いろんな魚がたくさんいて、手を伸ばせば捕まえれそうな距離まで近づいても逃げずにいるし、私たちの前や下を普通に泳いで行きます。
亀にはあえませんでしたが、とても大きな魚や1mぐらいはある細長い魚たちに遭遇。亀は引き潮の時間は湾が浅いからあまり来ないと言っていました。
終盤に娘と妻が疲れたとリタイヤ、私はアランさんに別のポイントに連れて行ってもらい大満足。
使い捨ての水中カメラを持って行ったのですが、浮かんだ状態での撮影は難しいです。上手く写っているかは現像してみないと分かりません。
泳げない妻もライフジャケットのおかげで浮いていられ、楽しんでいました。
子どもたちもとても楽しんでくれたみたいで帰るのを惜しんでいました。
アランさんがいろいろと気をつかってくれたので何の不安もなく無事ツアー終了。

ツアー検討中の方へ参考となれば
結構大きいセーフティボックス（鍵付き）を持っていってくれるので、４人分の着替えとタオル、サンダルはその中に余裕で入りました。
海までの上り下りはトロリーバスで行くので楽チン（トロリーバス代は参加費に含まれていたみたい）
シャワーと着替える場所はありました。
もう一度参加したくなるツアーです。

Don't let the less then perfect weather deter you from going. We went on a cloudy overcast day and were still able to enjoy the fishes and sea turtles. Bring a water camera, get picture opportunity.

I participated in a morning tour. During my first trip to Hawaii, I also went snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Since it was a place I wanted to visit again when I came back to Hawaii, I was looking forward to Hanauma.

This time, I chose a guided tour because I was with my children. There were two 8-year-olds and a 6-year-old, along with my husband and me. The guide held the hand of the 6-year-old and swam together with us, which was very helpful. The children were satisfied and happy to see various fish. The guide kindly taught us how to snorkel, and I was glad we could enjoy the ocean with peace of mind.

We must say a big thank you to Alan who really looked after us on this snorkel tour. My husband had never been snorkelling before and isn't particularly confident in the ocean, but Alan was brilliant, staying with him all the time, making sure he got the hang of everything. He pointed out the fish etc and knew exactly where the best spots were to make the most of the time we had at Hanauma Bay. I would definately recommend this tour to others.
