Had an Amazing time!! Traveled with hubby and 2 son's 17 & 19 yrs old. My mom was a 1st time snorkel and Makani I hope that's how you spell his name (Sorry) was awesome, he was very sweet and patient. He made sure that we were very comfortable. Would def book with him again! FYi 3rd time snorkeling and by far this was the best!

I participated in the honeymoon trip in November. Our guide, Alan, was friendly and spoke Japanese well, which made it very easy to get along! The tour is fine even if you can't speak English! I had an amazing time, even though it was my first experience with snorkeling!

We participated as a couple. I was worried because I can hardly swim, but there was a Japanese woman on staff who said, "It's okay!" Since I was wearing a sturdy life jacket, I didn't sink, and even though I couldn't swim, I could move my arms and legs slowly to move forward. I was able to thoroughly enjoy the scenery underwater, even as someone who can't swim. I didn't have to wait in the long line when entering, and I wished I could have relaxed a bit more on the beach, but I was very satisfied with the snorkeling. I want to go again.

The guide was very kind, and above all, the underwater scenery of Hanauma Bay was amazing. After that, I swam in several places in Oahu, but this was the best. It was so wonderful that I would come back again. I was able to see several honu while swimming both times, thanks to the guide who knows the points thoroughly from swimming there every day. I highly recommend this tour.

A couple over sixty years old decided to try snorkeling for the first time, not thinking about their age or being in a foreign country. At first, they thought it would be nice to see a few tropical fish, but once they got in the water, they were surprised to see not only many tropical fish but also a honu (turtle) swimming gracefully from the seabed to the surface right in front of them. Unfortunately, the wife missed seeing it, which was a bit tragic! For me, it was an emotional and thrilling experience that lasted over an hour.

The guide, whose name I forgot, was fluent in Japanese, fun, and attentive. He took many photos, and when I returned home and checked my email, I found several photos attached along with a thank-you note (including pictures of the honu), which made me so happy. The person I was with also seemed to be snorkeling for the first time, and we both enjoyed this tour immensely. Thank you so much to the guide whose name I forgot!

Due to the short duration of my stay, I decided to join a tour for efficiency and chose this one based on reviews. Regardless of snorkeling experience, I wore a type of life jacket that inflates with your own breath (similar to those used in emergencies during flights). If you want to dive to some extent, I recommend consulting with the instructor. I have snorkeling experience but lack confidence in swimming and struggle with equalizing pressure, so I didn't dive. I had no resistance to wearing the life jacket; in fact, I found it easier to swim than usual.

The underwater scenery was amazing, and I saw three sea turtles! A friend who joined me cannot swim, but with the life jacket on, the instructor carefully explained how to wear fins, how to float on your back, and how to deal with water entering the mask before we actually started swimming, so they felt very safe and had a great time.

Transportation between the hotel and the site, as well as equipment rentals, were stress-free in every aspect. While the tour cost might seem a bit high, I personally felt it was worth it. I think it's not suitable for those who want to take their time and relax (which is why I rated it a 4), but I recommend it for those with limited time like I had. Please note that as of October 2013, the entrance fee to the bay (US$ 7.5) is not included in the tour price and must be paid on the day.

肝心の海中景色は素晴らしく、ウミガメは３匹も見かけました！一緒に参加した友人は泳げないのですが、救命胴衣を着用し、実際に泳ぎ出す前にフィン(足ヒレ)の履き方や水面で仰向けになりたい時の方法、マスク(水中メガネ)に水が入った場合の対処法など、インストラクターが丁寧に説明してくれましたので、安心してとても楽しむことができたようです。
ホテルと現地間の交通手段や道具のレンタルなど、あらゆる場面でストレスフリーだったので、ツアー代は少々高めに感じられるかも知れませんが、個人的には相応の価値ありと感じました。時間に余裕があってのんびり過ごしたいという方には不向きだと思いますが(なので評価は４にしました)、今回の私のように時間が限られている方にはオススメします。なお、2013年10月時点で、湾への入場料(US$ 7.5)はツアー代に含まれておらず当日支払いなので、ご注意ください。

I had heard rumors about not seeing many fish, encountering sea turtles being a matter of luck, long wait times for entry, and steep hills, so I decided to join this tour because I thought it was essential to have ① a guided tour ② shuttle service ③ peace of mind. As a result, it was a great decision! We were guided by a true expert. Unfortunately, I had to retire from snorkeling after 30 years, but I thoroughly enjoyed the power of the waves and the flow of the tide. My daughter was taken out to the outer reef, where she encountered multiple sea turtles and saw many fish, allowing her to take lots of photos. Additionally, even though I retired, I was able to see cats, pigeons, chickens, and even a mongoose on land. I want to build up my stamina a bit more and try again.

I participated with my mother and sister. My sister and I had some experience, but my mother, in her 70s, was a complete beginner. As I worried, her stamina didn't hold up, and unfortunately, she had to retire partway through. However, Alan and the female staff were kind enough to show us as much of the underwater world as possible, and it seems she enjoyed it. When I did it before, I only dipped my face in the shallow water, but this time, guided by the experienced Alan and his team, I was able to confidently go deeper and see colorful fish, schools of small fish, and even a sea turtle up close. It was an indescribably moving experience! I never thought I could see so much while snorkeling, and it truly became a wonderful memory. Alan's jokes were also a lot of fun! Thank you very much!

I participated alone. My companions were a family of four from Hong Kong (living in New York) and a young couple from England. Alan, who is fluent in Japanese, and a Japanese woman named Fumio accompanied me. They taught me how to snorkel from scratch with such care that I felt at ease. Above all, Alan's guidance was excellent, and I think I saw over 50 different types of fish. We also swam alongside a sea turtle for quite a long time. I never expected to feel so safe and enjoy myself as a woman in her 50s.

We knew that snorkeling at Hanauma bay was a public activity, but we wanted something that was "high touch" and could deal with any individual needs if they came up. This was definitely it and we were very satisfied. Group sizes are usually small, like 4, but ours was luckily just the 2 of us. Alan, the guide's pre-outing equipment instructions helped ensure that we could use the mask with the least problems and we always felt safe & accommodated. This was the best snorkeling experience I've had of the several we've done so far. We even saw a sea turtle for a bit nibbling around the coral and coming up for air!

First of all, Allen our instructor was very cool. We felt right at home and we got lucky that we had only 1 other family with us so we got great lessons. The views of hanauma bay is like something from a postcard!!! The snorkeling is so amazing and we even got to swim with turtles!! This is a must too because the line to get in is long but with Allen we went right to the front. First class service for sure. Most important thing: underwater camera we bought the best on the market just for this reason and it was so worth it!!

As soon as we arrived, we watched a video, changed, and went snorkeling. We quickly learned the basics of breathing and how to position ourselves in the water before setting off. At first, I thought the time would be short, but it was more than enough. The snorkel was new and of the type that doesn't let water in from above, so it was very easy to use. We encountered a turtle just as we surfaced and were able to see it up close. We also saw some humuhumunukunukuapua'a! Later, the guide told us we swam from one end to the other. The schools of fish were breathtakingly beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed Hanauma Bay! Thank you very much.

We participated as a family of four (husband, wife, a second-year middle school student, and a third-year elementary school student). At the entrance to Hanauma Bay, we were able to enter without waiting in line, and the tram fare to the beach was included.

What I appreciated the most was that, typically, without a guide, we wouldn't have gone as far as the middle of the bay, but they took us there. We were able to see sea turtles swimming as well.

Our family participated with our 10-year-old and 7-year-old sons. We chose this tour for snorkeling because safety was the top priority and there was no waiting time. Our 7-year-old son was well taken care of by Alan, which allowed us to enjoy safely. Considering safety, I believe it’s definitely safer to wear life jackets and have an instructor with us on this tour rather than going individually.

Although it’s unrelated to the tour, that night we coincidentally ran into Alan again at a health bar on Monsarrat Avenue, and he kindly gave us a ride back to our hotel, which was a great help. He is very friendly and a wonderful person.

I participated with two elementary school boys. Since there were also foreigners on the tour, I was worried about being a nuisance or a hindrance. However, Alan helped guide the younger one and showed us various fish. Although we were not confident in our English and swimming skills, joining the tour was definitely the right choice. I highly recommend this tour for first-timers and those with children.

I participated in early July. Unfortunately, the waves were up, so the water was murky, which was disappointing. However, I truly appreciate the female instructor who stayed by my daughter (5 years old), encouraging her while she snorkeled. Thanks to her, my child was able to see the fish, which was great. A few days ago, I went snorkeling on the North Shore, and while I think it varies by day, generally the visibility seems to be better in the summer on the North Shore. However, since Hanauma has shallower areas, it might be better for snorkeling with small children.

I thought I could enjoy a relaxing snorkeling experience in Kailua's sea, but while the view of the ocean from the beach is beautiful, once you get in the water, the waves are high and it's murky, making it hard to see even a little bit ahead underwater. If you're not going into the sea and just want to spread out a beach mat to read or gaze at the ocean, this is a recommended course. Also, the pizza for lunch was hearty and delicious.
