I used this for my honeymoon.

I was anxious because I'm not a good swimmer, but they kindly taught me, and I was able to enjoy it easily.

Above all, I had a great time thanks to Dan's fun talks. His Japanese is also very good.

I was able to see sea turtles up close, and there were so many beautiful fish that I was moved! I'm really glad I participated in this tour.

The tour guide, Mr. Dann, who has a Japanese wife, speaks fluent Japanese. Usually, there are about 4 to 8 people on the tour, but on the day we participated, it was just the two of us. After enjoying the beautiful sea on the Big Island, I honestly didn't have high expectations for Honolulu (sorry, Mr. Dann), but we were able to see turtles and were very satisfied. It was a bit scary for amateurs to keep swimming, but we were guided a little further out and could fully enjoy the ocean.

We swam for about an hour on our own, but for those who are not confident in their swimming skills, Dann will pull you along. The visibility on the day we went wasn't great, but I recommend it for anyone wanting to see beautiful waters in Honolulu. The package includes round-trip tickets to the beach, a snorkeling set, snacks, water, a mat, and management of valuables. Above all, you can download the photos taken with a GoPro for free on Facebook, so you don't need to bring a camera.

行った日は透明度はイマイチでしたが、ホノルルで綺麗な海に行きたい方にはオススメです。
入口-海の往復乗車券、シュノーケルセット、お菓子、水、ゴザ、貴重品管理をしてくれます。なにより、GoProで撮影した写真を、Facebookで無料でダウンロードできるので、カメラも必要ありません。
行き帰りの車の中で、美味しいお店の話やその他ホノルルのオススメスポットを教えてくださいました。
泳げなくても、ワイキキビーチよりとても綺麗でぼーっとするだけでも価値ありです☆

I signed up because I really wanted to dive in the beautiful waters of Hanauma Bay. The shuttle bus was late, and I was anxiously waiting, but it arrived 10 minutes late. After that, I rented a full set of snorkeling gear at the shop, and everything went smoothly from preparation to diving. I had a great time encountering beautiful tropical fish and sea turtles. The guide was very kind and communicated in Japanese, which made me feel safe while diving. I definitely want to visit again next time.

It was drizzling since the morning, and the visibility was not great, so I couldn't see any honu (sea turtles), which is why I gave this rating. I haven't compared it to a regular guide, but I had high expectations from the phrase "expert guide to secret locations." However, there wasn't anything particularly impressive that made me feel like it was truly expert-level, and I was left wondering what the "secret location" was. On the bright side, perhaps because it was more expensive, there were only four participants, so I was able to enjoy the experience in a relaxed atmosphere.

Dan was the best. We had first class service the whole trip. Dan went out of his way to make sure the kids, as well as the adults, were comfortable in the water and we all had a great time because of the small group size. It was almost as if we had a personalized one on one tour. Snorkeling was great the day we went, we saw tons of fish! Everything from a parrot fish to schools of colorful little fish... and how could I possibly forget my daughters favorite, this little silver looking stick fish! Awesome experience with awesome people! A must-do while in Hawaii!! This is not something that you want to miss!

We had so much fun! The kids could not have had a better time. We were picked up promptly at our hotel in a clean and accommodating vehicle. We were given information about people, places, and things that we were passing on our way to the Bay to snorkel. Upon arriving at the Bay we were escorted in, past all lines, to watch a short information movie, and then taken down to the Bay via tram, as not to have to walk. Upon arrival to the actual Bay we were given instructions on how to wear, and use all the provided safety equipment. Upon making sure that we were completely comfortable, the the fun of snorkeling ensued... We had a great time.

I went to Hawaii for my first overseas trip. I was torn between Guam and Hawaii, but I decided to go to Hawaii since I was looking forward to enjoying my summer vacation. The day before, I did a little snorkeling at Heaven's Beach, but snorkeling at Hanauma Bay was a completely different kind of fun. Seeing the round, intricate shape of Hanauma Bay, I was moved by the clarity of the water and the beauty of the coral before even getting in. Watching the story of Hanauma Bay's creation and the ecosystem video made me realize that it is a place that is carefully protected.

Up close, the water was truly transparent, and it was an emerald green sea that I had never seen in Japan. As soon as I got in, there were lots of corals and many fish. Thanks to the veteran guide, I felt a sense of security and was able to see a sea turtle, which is not something you can easily encounter. Because of the guide, we were able to visit snorkeling spots that were just on the edge, as well as areas with incredible transparency that are far from the beach and hard to reach. I was really satisfied. Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay was an experience I will never forget because of the clarity and beauty of the sea. I had such a great experience that if anyone around me is going to Hawaii, I would definitely recommend snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Thank you very much.

This time, I participated in this tour because the sea in Heaven was not at low tide. I joined with a light heart, and I'm really glad I did. First of all, the instructors, a couple, were very kind and attentive. Although I had some snorkeling experience, it had been a while, so having the explanation in Japanese was a great help. If you're not confident in English, I highly recommend this! They stay with you throughout the snorkeling, so I think even children can enjoy it. The tour is only available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, but if you have the chance, you should definitely participate. They provide everything except for swimwear, and there's also a pick-up service to the hotel. It's okay even if you're not confident in snorkeling or can't swim! It was a pity that I didn't encounter any sea turtles (I snorkeled in the afternoon, but I heard there were turtles in the morning), but that's just luck... Instead, there were plenty of fish, and I swam for nearly an hour without getting bored. You might get tired occasionally, but if you do, you can return to the beach early and take a nap while resting. After snorkeling, we relaxed a bit while eating snacks, which was also very nice! Please give it a try!! I also want to challenge myself again to see a sea turtle when I come back to Hawaii. I'm truly grateful to the instructors.

今回、天国の海が干潮ではないためこちらのツアーに参加しました。軽い気持ちで参加したのですが、参加して本当良かったです。まずインストラクターの御夫婦が本当優しく丁寧でシュノーケリングの経験はあったものの久しぶりだったので説明が日本語だったのが助かりました。英語に自信がない方は是非！！またシュノーケリングの間も常に一緒にいて導いてくれるのでお子様でも楽しめると思います。ツアーは月水木金しか参加が出来ませんが機会があれば是非参加して欲しいツアーです。ツアーは水着着用以外、すべて準備してくれます、またホテルまで送迎がついています。シュノーケリングに自信がない方、泳げない方でも大丈夫です！！ウミガメに遭遇出来なかったのが残念でしたが（私は午後にシュノーケリングしたのですが、午前はウミガメはいたとのこと）これは運なので・・・そのかわり、魚が一杯いて一時間近く泳いだのですが飽きなかったです。たまに疲れますが、疲れた方は先に浜辺に帰って休みながら昼寝も出来ます。シュノーケリングの後はお菓子を食べながら、少しゆっくりします。それもとても良かったです！是非参加してみてください！！私もまたハワイに来たらウミガメに会える様、再チャレンジしたいと思います。インストラクターの御夫婦には本当感謝しております。

There were quite a few participants, so since the car was a bit cramped, they kindly suggested, "How about the front seat?" and I was able to sit in the front without hesitation. The organizer and driver had worked in Japan, so they guided us to the location in simple English and Japanese. The staff also responded in easy-to-understand English, and everyone was very kind, so I think even those who can't speak any English can participate with peace of mind.

The beach had a powdery sand feel, which was very pleasant, and it really made me feel like I was in Hawaii. However, as a snorkeling spot, it might be a bit lacking. In the afternoon, I rented a bicycle and explored Kailua Town. I went into supermarkets and used bookstores, allowing me to experience Hawaiian culture in ways not found in guidebooks. On the way back, they also stopped at a scenic spot for us to take photos.

While there wasn't anything particularly thrilling, it was a plan that allowed for a leisurely swim at the beach, strolling around town, and enjoying a relaxed drive along the way. I think adding such a plan in between more exciting tours can provide a nice balance.

結構な参加者さんがいたので、車が少し狭かった為、「助手席にどう？」と声をかけてくれたので、遠慮なく助手席に乗せてもらいました。主催者兼運転手さんは日本で仕事をしていたこともあり、簡単な英語と日本語でガイドをしながら現地まで連れていってくれました。スタッフの方も解りやすい英語で答えてくれたり、とても親切な方ばかりですので、全く英語が話せないという方も安心して参加できると思います。ビーチの方は、パウダーサンドみたいな感じでとても気持ちよく、ハワイに来たなーという気分を十分に味わえますが、シュノーケリングスポットとしては、ちょっと物足りないかなと。午後は自転車をレンタルしてカイルアタウンを散策しました。スーパーとか古本屋さんにも入って、ハワイの生活文化に触れられたりと、ガイドブックにはない楽しみ方も出来ます。また、帰りの道中にも絶景スポットで車を停めてくれて、写真を撮ったりしました。特に「これ、スゲーー！」ということはなく、あくまでのんびりビーチで泳いだり、プラプラ街を散策したり、道中のんびりドライブを楽しむことが出来るプランですが、刺激的なツアーの合間にこういうプランを入れると、良いエッセンスになると思います。

This was my second trip to Hawaii with my friend. We were looking for activities to enjoy nature, and we came across this tour. Since it included hotel pickup, the meeting went smoothly. I thought it was considerate that they left a message on the hotel voicemail regarding time changes (although we didn't know how to check the voicemail and ended up waiting, haha).

Also, since the activity started in the afternoon, we were able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before participating. It was my first time at Hanauma Bay, and I was amazed at how well the natural environment is preserved, and the sea was truly beautiful! We were fortunate with the weather, and the scenery was fantastic.

Our guides, Dan and Chieko, were very kind and provided excellent instruction, following us closely even in the water. At the beach in Hanauma Bay, we encountered mongooses and crabs! Underwater, there were schools of fish, as well as colorful fish, and the most impressive sight was the sea turtles. We were able to get very close to a sea turtle swimming gracefully. (Note: Touching sea turtles is prohibited in Hawaii.)

They provided snorkeling sets and mats for our belongings, and after the activity, there were drinks and snacks available. You can also leave a few valuables with them. They upload the photos taken underwater to Facebook, so you can download them.

It was so much fun that I will definitely participate again! Next time, I would love to try diving as well!

ガイドのダンさん＆ちえこさんもとても優しく指導してくださり、海の中でもバッチリフォローしてくれました。
ハナウマ湾のビーチではマングースやカニに出会えます‼︎海の中では魚の群れはもちろん、色とりどりの魚たち、そして一番感動したのはウミガメ。優雅に泳ぐウミガメのすぐそばまで近づくことが出来ました。(注:ハワイではウミガメに触れることは禁止されています)
シュノーケルセット、荷物置き用のゴザを貸してもらえますし、終了後には飲み物とお菓子のサービスもありました。貴重品も少しなら預けることができます。

とっても楽しかったのでまた絶対参加しまーす！

I joined the snorkeling tour because I wanted to have some fun. It had been about 10 years since I last went, so I had forgotten some of the techniques, but they kindly taught me. They helped me find fish spots and sea turtles, which I think would be quite difficult without guidance.

I only had experience snorkeling in the waters of Okinawa, which are quite shallow, allowing for a relaxed snorkeling experience. However, the waters in Hawaii are relatively deep, so I believe it's more reassuring for beginners to have a guide with them.

If I could suggest something, it would be nice to have breaks instead of swimming continuously, as that would allow for a bit more relaxation. Also, I was paired up with a buddy (holding hands) and we swam together the whole time, which can be quite tiring. I hope they can improve on that.

I also think it's great that the guide uploads photos taken during the tour to Facebook.

　シュノーケリングで楽しみたいなと思って参加しました。10年ぶりぐらいだったので、要領を忘れてましたが、親切に教えていただけました。魚スポットやウミガメを見つけてくれたりと、誘導がないとなかなか難しいと思います。
　自分は沖縄の海でのシュノーケリングしか体験が無かったのですが、沖縄はかなり遠浅なので、のんびりとシュノーケリングができますが、ハワイの海はそこそこ深いので、初心者の方は、ガイドさんがついていてくれた方が安心して楽しめると思います。
　欲を言えば、ずっと泳ぎっぱなしではなくて、途中で休憩を入れてくれると、もう少しリラックスして楽しめたかなあ～？それから、バディを組んで（手をつないで）2人組でずっと泳いでいたのですが、これも、結構、疲れます。そこは、改善して欲しいかな。
ガイドさんがフェイスブックに撮った写真をアップしてくれるサービスも◎と思います。

We have snorkeled at the circular-shaped shore of Hanauma Bay on the southeast tip of East Honolulu, you can imagine how this beautiful cove was once a volcanic crater. Today, this crater, likely flooded by wave erosion, is home to an important nature preserve and the island's most popular snorkeling destination.

Our snorkeling trip was arranged by Hawaiiactivities.com and they were quite professional people with prompt responses and is very customer oriented. They arranged Mr. Dan to train us snorkeling. Mr. Dan is best instructor you can have in Honolulu as he explained every steps in a legible and understandable way. He has snorkled with us for many hours.

Whether you’re snorkeling a natural or artificial reef, at the beach or along the mangroves, you’ll discover amazing underwater creatures. Look at (but don’t touch) the vibrant yellow and red coral canyons and purple sea fans swaying in the ocean’s current. Coral is actually alive and it’s extremely delicate. Touching coral is detrimental to its health and can also be dangerous. It’s actually related to the jellyfish and can provide a sharp sting, burn, or cut when touched. A good rule of thumb is to stay in water that’s at least six feet deep while snorkeling over coral.

Look for tropical fish including yellowtail snapper, parrotfish, angelfish, blue tang, grouper, and hogfish. We have come across with Turtle who is is not afraid to swim with us. With such a thriving and diverse ecosystem, there’s nearly as much to discover underwater in Hawaii as there is on land!

Dan took pictures with his under water camera. It was lots of fun. Dan brought snacks, drinks, etc. too. On the way back Dan shared lot of information on best shows and tours in Hawaii. We had a great time and will definitely go again if I'm ever in Hawaii.

This was my first time snorkeling and I came from Canada to visit Hawaii. It was a beautiful experience just because we have a great instructor Mr. Dan through Hawaiiactivities.com. We came to know him through this website. Dan started with all basic instruction and shown all steps for snorkeling in detail. He has snorkeled with us and kept my kids together and safe.


It was a magic day of snorkelling in the biggest coral reef on earth. Thousands of colorful fish in the warm water. Thanks a lot to Dan You're part of memories of a life time.

Dan brought all safety devices and snorkeling equipment. He adjusted the equipment to fit very well with each of us. As my kids were not good at swimming, Dan took much patience to train them. He brought mats and drinks to relax before getting into sea.

I saw dozens of very large angelfish, parrotfish (Blue, Queen, and Stoplight), as well as many species of damselfish and butterfly fish, Sergeant Majors, Yellowtail Snapper, and I even saw a Longspine Squirrelfish! It was an absolutely perfect day.

The water was very clear. At one point I was surrounded by hundreds of fishes all swimming calmly in one direction (schooling). All of a sudden they parted (odd, because I had been swimming with them for several minutes without them seeming to notice), and I saw the most awesome and colorful fish I've ever seen in my life swim 5 ft directly under me! I thought about was how every now and then you hear stories about HUGE catfish the size of Buicks at the bottom of deep lakes.


That being said, you can imagine my initial hesitation on the day of my snorkelling experience at I might have started out a little nervous, but I can tell you right now—it ended up being my absolute favorite experience on the trip.

The scenery was beautiful, and the two guides who accompanied us (I was a bit worried at first) were very pleasant, making for a really enjoyable time. The images I uploaded were taken with a wearable camera, and I am very satisfied with them.

It wouldn't be interesting to only write good things, so I should mention that the pickup was a bit late, and the same group (who were foreigners) swam like they were in a race, causing my wife to get hit multiple times and almost drown. My wife and son also got seasick after being away from the shore for nearly an hour.

Additionally, the water clarity wasn't as good as I had hoped, the colors of the fish were rather dull, and the turtle was a bit smaller than I imagined.

However, overall it was fun, so I'm glad I participated.

景色は綺麗でしたし、案内して頂いた二人（最初はちょっと心配でしたが）が、感じの良い方々で、すごく楽しいひと時でした。アップした画像は、ウェアラブルカメラで撮った映像で、大満足です。
良いことばかり書いても面白くないので、ピックアップがちょっと遅かったり、同じグループ（外国人の方です）が水泳の様に泳いで妻に何度も手が当たって溺れそうになったり、１時間近く波打ち際から離れて妻と息子が波に酔ったりといろいろありました。
また、透明度が期待していたほどでなかったり、魚の色が地味だったり、カメが想像よりはちょっと小さかったりとかはありました。
でも、トータルすると楽しかったので、参加して良かったです。

It was disappointing that there was no explanation for the pickup being over 20 minutes late. At first, I thought Allen was a bit quiet and brusque, but once we got into the water, he was very kind and truly taught us with the same care and attention that everyone mentioned in their reviews. I was nervous about snorkeling after a long time, but Dan kept saying, "It's okay, it's okay," which made me feel at ease and allowed me to go further out. We were lucky to see three sea turtles, which is really rare! However, since I wouldn't be able to find the turtle spots on my own, I think it's best to go with a guide. I would appreciate it if we could have some free time afterward. When it's a group activity where everyone has to stick together, it's hard to take a break even if you're tired, and I wished I could enjoy snorkeling at my own pace a bit more. But we got so many great photos that we wouldn't have been able to take ourselves, which made for wonderful memories. Thank you very much!

久々のシュノーケルに緊張していましたが、ダンさんがずっと「大丈夫、大丈夫」とついていてくれて安心して沖の方まで行くことが出来ました。
ホヌを３匹も見ることができて、本当にめずらしい！ということでラッキーでした。
ただ、ホヌのスポットはなかなか自分では行けないしわからないのでガイドさんと一緒がいいですが、その後はフリータイムにしてもらえると嬉しいと思います。
全員一緒でないといけない団体行動だと疲れていても休みにくいし、もう少しのんびりと自分のペースでシュノーケルを楽しみたかったなぁと思いました。
でも自分たちだけでは撮れないような写真をたくさん撮って頂いて、とてもいい記念になりました。

Hanauma Bay had beautiful clear water and calm waves, making it easy to swim. The highlight was being able to see sea turtles if you were lucky. I was thrilled to see them taking breaths and to have photos taken while swimming with the turtles.

I participated on 8/11 because I heard that there are fewer people on Mondays than on Sundays. That said, there were still quite a few people... but definitely fewer than at Waikiki Beach.

Upon arrival, we received about 20 minutes of explanation regarding lockers, rental equipment, and lunch, and then we were free to explore. The staff was fluent in Japanese, friendly, and had a great attitude, which made for a pleasant experience.

This time, I went with the purpose of enjoying the ocean, so I didn't go into town. (On a different day, I joined a tour to the North Shore and Kailua, where I did some shopping and had Kimo's pancakes.) If you're considering shopping in town, you might find that there's not enough time.

I thought about renting a bike to go to Lanikai Beach, but it became a bit of a hassle, so I ended up staying at Kailua Beach the whole time. However, I didn't have any trouble filling my time; I took naps on the sandy beach and walked along the coast.

For lunch, I had a meat plate lunch. It was simple, but the meat was tender and delicious!

とはいえ、やはりだいぶ人はいましたが・・・。
ワイキキビーチよりは断然少なかったです。

現地に到着、ロッカーや貸出器具、昼食について20分ほど説明を受け、すぐに自由行動。対応スタッフは日本語がペラペラで愛想もノリも良く、気持ちのいい対応でした。

今回は海を目的に行ったので、街には行きませんでした。
（別日に、ノースショア＆カイルアのツアーに参加し、そちらで買い物やキモズのパンケーキを食べました。）
街で買い物も、と考えると、少し時間がたりないかもしれません。

自転車を借りてラニカイビーチまで行こうかとも思ったのですが、ちょっと面倒になり、結局ずっとカイルアビーチにいました、でも砂浜で昼寝をしたり、海岸をずっと歩いて行ってみたり・・・時間を持て余すことは無かったです。

お昼はお肉のプレートランチにしました。
シンプルですが、お肉が柔らかくておいしかった！
