We had an early morning meeting, but they arrived on time to pick us up. For the Kailua Beach tour, I was advised to go to Lanikai first, and I followed that suggestion. It's about a 2-mile walk from the shop to Lanikai. Walking in the blazing sun with kids was tough. I planned to go to Lanikai in the morning and Kailua in the afternoon, but I barely managed to return from Lanikai and grab lunch.

However, Lanikai's beach was as beautiful as I saw on TV. The natural beach, different from Waikiki, was amazing. Next time, I want to try sea kayaking with my kids.

I will definitely go again!

We gathered early in the morning and took about an hour to get to Hanauma Bay. I chose a plan with an English-speaking driver instead of one with a Japanese-speaking instructor or driver to save on costs, but I didn't have any particular issues. As long as I knew the meeting time and place for the return, I was fine.

Since it was early in the morning, it was still a bit chilly, so we leisurely claimed our spot on the sand and ate the breakfast we brought before going snorkeling.

We had about four hours, which I thought was more than enough time.

There were seals or sea lions on the beach, and we saw many fish while snorkeling. By the way, it seems that there are more fish on the left side of the beach.

Due to its popularity, people started arriving in droves around 10 AM, and it got crowded.

Thank you very much! Kailua Beach and Lanikai Beach were both much clearer than Waikiki and absolutely beautiful; swimming there was a lot of fun! We rented a paid option for a parasol and chair set, which I highly recommend due to the strong sunlight. In the morning, there are relatively fewer people, making it enjoyable. Around 10 AM, we had an incredibly lucky surprise when a monk seal suddenly came up on the beach to rest, just about 10 meters from our base. My grandchild had been talking about wanting to see one since before coming to Hawaii, so it was great that we could make that happen by chance. There is a law requiring a distance of over 15 meters from monk seals, so it’s also a good memory that our base had to be moved quickly.
