The stargazing event at Ko Olina in HAWAII was really great! ✨ Although the lights from the surrounding hotels made it a bit difficult to see some stars, the explanations about the stars were thorough. We got to use two telescopes: one high-precision telescope with electronic GPS and a regular one, and all participants took turns looking through them. The teacher also provided explanations while showing the stars on a PC screen. They spoke in broken Japanese, so families with children might find that the kids may not understand the English explanations. Japanese participants should keep this in mind when joining! The meeting was at 4 PM, and the start was pushed back to 5 PM instead of the planned 4:30 PM. We had kept our schedule flexible, which was good, but I felt it would be better to allow more time in the schedule.

Since several groups board the boat at the same time to head out to sea, the boat repeatedly stops and goes while waiting. Depending on the day, the waves can be high, so some people might experience significant seasickness. I recommend that those who are prone to it take motion sickness medication beforehand.

It was my first time parasailing, and at first, the thrill was incredible, but once I got used to the height, it was amazing. From 150 meters up, you can see Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head all at once. My family was thrilled and said it became a wonderful memory. My son, who is 8 years old, was scared at first but started shouting that it was the best part halfway through.

I highly recommend it!

I went shopping in Kailua Town, then returned to the shop to change and went to Kailua Beach for bodyboarding.
I rode my bike to Lanikai Beach to take photos.
At the shop, I was able to rent a cooler bag, chairs, and a bodyboard, so it was comfortable at the beach.

I have traveled to Hawaii many times, but this was my first visit to this museum. The exhibits were more fulfilling than I expected, with many displays about the Hawaiian monarchy and photographs from that era, which were quite moving. You can deepen your knowledge about Polynesian culture as a whole. There are two guided sessions in Japanese at 10:30 and 11:30. We arrived at 10:45 without knowing this, but we negotiated and were allowed to join the 10:30 session (it might be a good idea to check in advance the days and times when the Japanese guide is available). In addition to the museum, there are facilities for children (playgrounds), a planetarium, and a science center, but these are not particularly impressive.

The theme park opens at 10:30, which is a bit late, so I think it would have been better if the overall schedule was set a little later. However, the kids seemed happy. I would like to come again.

All the slides were fun! However, when considering the total experience, I think the cost performance is a bit high. The all-you-can-drink options aren't really worth it since you can't drink that much. The locker fee is also expensive. If it were a bit cheaper, I would want to go again.

Let me start by saying this is a must do when visiting o’ahu. The views from the sandbar are incredible. I’m 4’10” and I think the water at the sandbar come up to my waistline. It took us about 40 minutes to paddle out to it because I’m not the most athletic. Lol

The kayak tour did include a life jacket. We rented a dry bag and an anchor for $5. And anchor is a must if you want to hang out at the sandbar or snorkel at one of the reefs.

Speaking of reefs, what an experience! I saw plenty of beautiful fish and turtles. “Park” your kayak on the sandy area and do not step on the coral. They are very sensitive. If you park up by the corals, you’ll see plenty of fish and turtles popping in and out.

The staff was friendly and informative. They gave us the best route to be able to go to the sandbar and the reefs. We followed instructions and did exactly as we were told as everyone should.

You’ll have a great time if you follow the rules and respect the ocean and its animals!
