This was my first experince whale watching, had a blast! We were able to see 5 whales! After the boat was returning to shore, I went to the back of the boat and saw another whale. We did the Breakfast Cruise, water and coffee are free, everything else is a charge. Be one of the first ones outside, so you can have a good veiw by the railings. Also you will be standing outside on the deck to see the whales so be prepare as it is windy. I did enjoy that the naturalist on board was very informative about whales, she gave us lots of clues on what to look for when whale watching. I would recommed to this Cruise early on you vacation so as you travel the island you can find your own whales!

I participated on my honeymoon. I was able to see whales multiple times. While we were eating, whales kept appearing, and we were going back and forth between our seats and the deck. Looking back, I should have eaten first; the delicious food ended up getting cold...
Onboard, there were also activities like lei-making and hula classes, and I had a very enjoyable time.

This time, I participated with ten friends, and the boat to Sandbar was separated for international guests and Japanese guests. The staff's service after boarding the boat was excellent. I had some concerns before participating due to reviews mentioning seasickness and not being able to see anything. However, the boat didn't sway violently at all; it was just a gentle rocking, and I didn't experience any seasickness. In fact, I was so drowsy from the motion sickness medication I took just in case that I almost dozed off while standing, haha.
As for the whales, I was thrilled to see them up close right from the start. I was able to see them several more times after that, and I got great video footage, so I was very satisfied.

I wanted to visit the beautiful sandbar I saw on TV, so I decided to join this tour. The weather on the day was cloudy with occasional light rain. They picked us up at the hotel. The driver was a local, but there was always a Japanese staff member to support us, so even those new to traveling abroad can participate with peace of mind.
After about an hour on the bus, we boarded the boat, and the crew was introduced. Yukki, the Japanese staff member, entertained us with her lively talk. First, we encountered about ten sea turtles. They occasionally peeked their faces above the water, and I quickly made a wish.
Then we headed to the main sandbar. It was a strange feeling to see a shallow area appear in the middle of the ocean, clearly different in color from the surrounding sea. The temperature that day wasn't very high, and it took quite a bit of courage to get into the water. However, according to the staff, the water temperature was still on the warmer side. After taking photos at the sandbar and enjoying the scenery, we were supposed to go snorkeling. However, due to the cold, we decided to pass.
I was very grateful to participate at a reasonable price as a monitor this time. Unfortunately, the weather was a downside. I think if it had been sunnier, we could have seen the beautiful scenery like what we saw on TV. Also, Hawaii was cooler than I expected... I participated in the activity mentioned in the title.
We set off early in the morning while it was still dark. Despite getting caught in a bit of traffic, we arrived at the location in about an hour. The weather was nice, but it was quite windy. Due to the tides, the sandbar was submerged... and the seawater was cold... Depending on the weather, it might be tough for the elderly and small children. However, there was a family with a five-month-old baby participating in this tour, so if the weather is good and thereโs no wind, it would be perfect.
The female Japanese guide was fun and made an effort to engage with each tour participant, which made her a very likable guide. As for the locals... if they are dealing with Japanese people, their attitude can be a bit arrogant, but I guess that canโt be helped?
When it comes to snorkeling, once you're in the water, you don't feel the cold! However, I wished I had fins. Why couldn't we wear them? Is it to avoid damaging the coral reefs? If that's the case, I suppose it can't be helped.
It got a bit long, but overall, thanks to the efforts of the Japanese-speaking guide, it was above average. It really depends on the weather. However, looking at it from a different perspective, it was an enjoyable tour. The seawater was cold for us, but we had fun!

I've visited Hawaii several times, but this was my first time participating in this activity. I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately, we were hit by heavy rain and strong winds on the day, so we couldn't enjoy snorkeling. It was very disappointing since I had high expectations... I will definitely try again! I want to believe that it's a sign to come back (laughs).
However, thanks to the rain, I was able to see a double rainbow, which was very moving. The staff's guidance was also entertaining, so I highly recommend that everyone give it a try!

I signed up because it was supposed to be a Japanese-speaking guide, but the guide who picked me up at the hotel hardly spoke any Japanese. The bus was shared with other English-speaking guests, and for about 50 minutes from the hotel to the boat, I was left feeling like an afterthought as I listened to conversations in English while the Japanese speakers were treated as secondary.

We went on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, the weather was not great, and it rained on the way there. However, while we were at the sandbar, the sun miraculously came out, and we were able to see a wonderful view. โ After that, we were able to see some turtles and rays. At the last snorkeling spot, it rained, and we couldn't see well underwater... If it had been sunny, I think we would have seen amazing corals and colorful fish.

I took the morning cruise, which was an early start, and I boarded feeling a bit sleep-deprived and hungry, so I experienced some seasickness. However, after receiving medication from the staff, I felt better.
I actually brought breakfast bread to eat on the boat, but it seems that outside food was not allowed. They were selling a breakfast buffet on board.

Went on the morning whale watch and had a grand time. Easy pick-up from downtown Waikiki, took you to the boat and boarded. Get to take a picture as a family, and then they give you an in depth description about humpback whales and their migratory patterns and everything else you wanted to know!
They have a kids program too, where they take the extra time after they explain it to everyone to make sure the little ones understand everything they said!
Saw a few whales this morning, unfortunately none of them were jumping, but they were very awesome none-the-less! I highly reccomend this activity to anyone who has never seen whales in the wild before, as it was definitely an experience I will never forget!
The Star of Honolulu is also an boat in excellent condition and they take care to make sure each and every passenger gets to spot a whale!

We saw the whales spouting water and their tails a few times.
I felt more movement than I expected, so for those who are prone to seasickness, I recommend taking the motion sickness medication that was distributed right after boarding.
It felt like an elegant cruising experience, so I think families can enjoy it.
However, for those who really want to see whales up close, a smaller boat might be better.

I participated in a monitor tour.
The weather was great on the day, and I was able to enjoy the heavenly sea with a wonderful feeling! I was able to see sea turtles, and although I was a beginner at snorkeling, I felt safe swimming because I was wearing a life jacket.

Although it can't be helped that we didn't see any whales, I felt that the tour itself was different from what whale watching should be.

I never expected to see whales so close to the shore. It was incredibly moving.
The view of Diamond Head and Honolulu from the boat was also stunningly beautiful.

Diamond Head Crater Hiking Tour with Reserved Tickets & Shuttle from Waikiki
Fun, Easy and Scenic Hike!

Attended this hike as a family with small children (ages 4&7) and this was a perfect morning outing! The hike was paved and only a moderate incline, and the views along the way up and from the top are remarkable!
Unfortunately the tides were not perfect for the blowhole to really be going, but we did get to see some spray and the kids enjoyed it as well.
Overall, a very professionally run operation with great pickup and dropoff services. The hike was a nice way to get out and see other sights!
