I have been visiting Hawaii once or twice a year, and this time, I finally managed to visit during the season when it's possible to see whales, even though it's the rainy season.

Honestly, the chances were fifty-fifty, but we were blessed with good weather, making for a decent cruising day. However, the whales were not making an appearance for quite some time, and I thought we might have missed out this time as I was just enjoying the beautiful views of Honolulu and Diamond Head.

Then, just like something out of a TV drama's ending, we had an incredible encounter. We saw spouts, double diving, and even dolphins joining the show—it was fantastic! My wife was so moved that she was inexplicably praying. 😆

　正直可能性は五分五分だったのですがお天気にも恵まれまずまずのクルージング日和でした、
　ただ肝心の鯨さんは中々お出ましが無く、ただただホノルルの街並みとダイアモンドヘッドの素晴らしい景色を眺めていて今回はハズレかと思ってましたら、
まさにテレビドラマのエンディングかと思うくらいの出会いがありました、
潮吹きやダブルでのダイビングやおまけにイルカまで出てきて素晴らしいショーでした。

The pickup was smooth, we could see the whales well, and the coffee and pineapple cake were delicious! It wasn't as cold as I expected.

During our second family trip to Hawaii, we were looking for activities that could be enjoyed by three generations in January and found whale watching, which we signed up for. We participated with my grandparents, who are over 60, and three children (ages 3, 1, and 0). On the day of the trip, the weather was nice, with no wind, and we departed on time. After boarding, we enjoyed self-service banana cake and coffee as a light snack.

About 15 minutes after departure, there was an announcement that we could go up to the rooftop (4th floor). The main way to get up there was by stairs, but there was also an elevator. I carried the 1-year-old and 0-year-old up to the rooftop, where we could see the hotels in Waikiki from a distance, and we spotted some boats enjoying marine activities in the morning.

After a while on the rooftop, there was an announcement indicating the direction of the whales, which was easy to understand even for those who don't speak much English. We were able to see a pod of about four whales for about an hour, and we also saw dolphins along the way. Since the sun was a bit strong on the rooftop, it might be better for the kids to wait in the shade until the whales are visible before moving around.

At first, we could see the whales from a distance, but later on, it seemed like the boat chased after them, allowing us to see them up close. Honestly, it was easier to see from the sofa on the first floor than from above, and stepping outside from there allowed us to see the whales in the shade and up close! There were staff members on the first floor who pointed out where to look, which was fantastic.

We noticed several other tour boats around us, and they seemed to be rocking quite a bit, which might be tough for those not used to being on boats. We went as far as the front of Diamond Head before turning back, and we returned to the port a bit earlier than scheduled, around 11:20, making disembarkation smooth. If we hadn't spotted any whales, it might have taken longer, but since we saw them well, it might have been quicker.

Overall, we had a very satisfying half-day experience, and I highly recommend this activity! Lastly, there was no validation (discount) for parking, so we paid $18 for 30 minutes at $3 each.

2回目の家族でのハワイ旅行で3世代で楽しめる1月のアクティビティを探していたところ、ホエールウォッチングを見つけて申し込みました。60オーバーの祖父母と子供3人（3歳、1歳、0歳）で参加しましたが、当日は天気も良く、風もない中で定刻通り出航して、乗船後に軽食のバナナケーキとコーヒーをセルフサービスでいただきました。
出航して15分ぐらいすると船の屋上（4F）に上がれるアナウンスがあり、基本は階段で上がりますがエレベーターもありました。
1歳と0歳は抱っこして屋上まで上がると、遠目にワイキキのホテルが見えて来て朝からマリンアクティビティを楽しむ人の船もちらほら見かけました。
屋上でしばらくすると時計の方向でクジラの位置を教えてくれるアナウンスがあり、英語があまりわからない方でもわかるようになっています。
肝心のクジラは4頭ぐらいの群れを1時間ぐらい見ることが出来て、途中イルカも見れました。屋上で見ていると日差しが少し強いので子供は日陰で待機してクジラが見えてから、動く方がいいかもしれません。
最初は遠目で見れていましたが、後半は船がクジラを追いかけたのか、すごく近くで見ることができました。
正直、上から見るより最初に座った1階のソファーから見る方が良く見えるし、そこから外に出て見る方が日陰でクジラを近くで見れます！
1階にはスタッフがいて、あっちに見える、こっちに見えると教えてもらえて最高です。
周りに何隻か他のツアーの船も見かけたのですが、結構揺れているのが見え、船に慣れていない方には厳しいかもしれません。
ダイヤモンドヘッドの正面？あたりまで行って折り返して帰って来たのですが、予定より少し早く11時20分ぐらいに帰港して下船もスムーズでした。クジラを発見できない場合はもう少し長くかかるのかもしれませんが、しっかり見れたので早かったのかもしれません。
全体的には大満足の半日を過ごせて、このアクティビティはおすすめです！
最後に駐車場はバリデーション（割引）がないので、30分3ドルで18ドルを支払いました。

Tour guide was the best so much fun can’t wait to go again

Since it's a large ship, there was no seasickness! The pineapple banana bread was delicious, and we saw plenty of dolphins and whales, which was amazing!

Positive Points
- I was able to see many whales, and I was more satisfied than I had expected.
- Even during the times when whales were not visible, I enjoyed a comfortable cruise while taking in the scenery.
- Important announcements were made in Japanese, which made me feel secure participating in the tour.
- I had the unexpected and delightful experience of encountering a honu (sea turtle) at the time of departure.
- The banana cake provided was very delicious and left a lasting impression.

Points for Improvement
- Although there were announcements when whales were spotted, the sound from the microphone was muffled and hard to hear.
- The observation deck on the third floor did not allow for easy movement between the left and right sides, which meant that the view was biased either to the right or left rather than being 360 degrees. While it was possible to move in the back, it took time to get to the opposite side when at the front.
- Due to legal regulations requiring a certain distance from the whales, this is understandable, but if you are imagining seeing the whales up close with great intensity, you might feel a bit unsatisfied. In reality, the whales appeared somewhat small.
- Although there were restrooms available, the amount of toilet paper was limited from the start, and there was no replenishment during the trip.

良かった点
- 多くのクジラを見ることができ、期待以上に満足感があった。
- クジラが見えない時間帯も、景色を楽しみながら快適にクルージングを満喫できた。
- 重要な案内については日本語でのアナウンスもあり、安心して参加できた。
- 出航時にホヌ（ウミガメ）に出会えるという、思いがけない嬉しい体験があった。
- 提供されたバナナケーキがとても美味しく、印象に残った。

惜しかった点
- クジラ発見時のアナウンスはあったものの、マイクの音がこもっていて聞き取りづらかった。
- 3階デッキの展望台先頭部分は左右の行き来ができず、360度見渡せるというよりも、右側か左側のどちらかに視界が偏ってしまった。後方では移動可能だが、先頭にいると反対側へ移動するのに時間がかかる。
- 法律上の規制によりクジラとの距離を保つ必要があるため、仕方のない点ではあるが、間近で見る大迫力のクジラを想像していると、やや物足りなく感じる可能性がある。実際にはクジラはやや小さく見えた。
- お手洗いは完備されていたものの、トイレットペーパーの量が最初から少なく、途中での補充もなかった。

In conclusion, I was able to see the whales spouting only a few times. I wish I could have seen them a bit closer. However, the boat was large and stable, so I was quite satisfied to sit in a deck chair and enjoy the leisurely feeling of a boat trip. While sitting in the deck chair and looking at the views of Diamond Head and Waikiki from the sea, I was able to listen to various information about whales in Japanese through the onboard announcements, which was very educational!

結論から言うと、クジラの潮吹きは数回だけ見ることが出来ました。もう少し近くで見えると良かったかなと思います。ただ、船も大きくて揺れも少ないので、デッキチェアに座ってゆったり船旅気分を味わえたのはかなり満足でした。海から眺めるダイヤモンドヘッドやワイキキの風景を見ながらデッキチェアに座り、日本語でクジラについての様々な事を船内放送で聞けて勉強になりました！

1. Arizona Memorial. Show your QR code at the Audio Tours entrance to receive a Standby Line number, borrow a Japanese guide device, and walk south to board the boat. Return the guide device after the tour.
2. Bowfin Submarine. Walk north and enter using the QR code. There is a dedicated guide device here.
3. There is a Shuttle bus stop to the northeast, so board the bus.
4. Get off at the USS Missouri and enter using the QR code; there is a Japanese guide available.
5. Board the bus again and get off at the Aviation Museum, entering with the QR code. There is a dedicated guide device here. Be sure to check out the many fighter planes displayed outdoors when you go around to the back of the building.

Since the guide was very energetic and spoke in English from the morning, I had some concerns about the mountain climbing, but my motivation to climb increased.

朝からとても元気よく英語でのガイドしてくれたので山登りに多少の心配がありましたが、登る気分が高まりました。

I arrived in Honolulu on the morning flight the day before and went whale watching on the first evening with Dolphin Hawaii on their small, small catamaran. This time, I had the experience of whale watching on consecutive days. On both days, I was able to see whales.

On the small, small catamaran, I enjoyed watching a pod of dolphins swimming alongside us and what appeared to be a family or siblings playing right next to the boat. However, for those who are prone to seasickness or sensitive to the rocking of the boat, I think it would be more reassuring to board the Star of Honolulu, where you wouldn't have to worry as much about seasickness.

If you're looking for a more thrilling and intimate marine experience, I recommend the small, small catamaran. On both days, I was able to see whales from either boat.

ただ、船酔いする方や揺れや遊園地のアトラクションに弱い方には
スターオブホノルルに乗船する方がより船酔いを心配せずに安心していられるかと思います
より迫力ある身近な海洋体験だと小さな小さな双胴船をお勧めします
今回はどちらの船でも両日共にクジラ見られました

The shuttle driver was cheerful and it was fun. It takes a bit of physical effort, but once you reach the top and see the view, your spirits lift, and I even saw a rainbow. It was a bit cloudy, so if it had been sunnier, it would have been even better.

送迎の運転手さんが愉快で楽しかった。
体力は少し使うけど、登りきって景色を見れば気分上々で虹も見れました。
少し曇り気味だったのでもっと晴れてたらもっと最高

The catamaran ride offered beautiful views, and the Hawaiian fishpond tour was educational.

Along Pearl Harbor, we enjoyed the stop at Punchbowl Cemetery, and the city tour of Honolulu highlighted key sites

The Kualoa Ranch Movie Sites Tour was a fun and fascinating experience and well paced!

It was disappointing that I couldn't experience the whale watching I was looking forward to, but I was able to see the views from the backside of Diamond Head, which made for a valuable experience.

期待していた様なホェールウォッチングが出来なかったのは残念でしたが、ダイヤモンドヘッドの裏側の景色なども見られ、貴重な体験になりました。

My wife and I booked the morning 2hr whale watch cruise and it was breathtaking. The views all the way throughout the cruise was the highlight. Not to mention the whales we spotted in the distance. The cruise staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The pineapple banana bread was one of the best I have ever had! I would recommend this activity to all friends and family that come to Oahu

It was great to be able to see the battleship that still bears the scars of war. The Japanese tour guide was easy to understand, and I was able to learn a lot of things.

戦争の爪痕が残る戦艦を見学できて良かったです。日本語のツアーガイドは分かりやすくて色々学ぶことができました。

The food was good and plentiful the entertainment was awesome

The scenery and the driver were great, but during this time of year, it gets quite cold in the early morning, so I wouldn't recommend it too much. It was so cold that I could only swim a little. I envied those who went in the afternoon. I wish they would at least schedule the tours in the afternoon during winter.

景色もドライバーさんも良かったが、この時期は朝早くは冷えるのであまりオススメではないです。寒いので少ししか泳げませんでした。昼から行ってる人が羨ましかったです。
せめて冬はツアーを昼からで組んでほしい。

The wind was strong and the waves were high, so unfortunately, we couldn't see any whales. However, the boat hardly rocked, and we enjoyed delicious pineapple banana cake and coffee. The information about the whales was only in English, but they talked a lot, and I was able to learn various things using Google Translate. The view of Diamond Head and Waikiki from the sea was very impressive. If we can't see the whales, we received a ticket to try again for free during the season, so I think I'll give it another shot.

風が強く波が高かったせいか、残念ながらクジラは見れませんでしたが、船はほとんど揺れずにパイナップルバナナケーキとコーヒーを美味しく頂きました。
クジラに関しての情報も英語のみでしたが、沢山話してくださり、Google翻訳を活用して色々と学ぶことができました。
海側からみるダイヤモンドヘッドとワイキキがとても印象的でした。
クジラが見れない時は、シーズン中であれば再度無料でチャレンジできる券も頂けたので、もう一度チャレンジしてみようと思います。

This was my first time climbing Diamond Head, and I wasn't sure about the procedures for the climb or how to get there, so I decided to book a shuttle plan. I signed up for a pickup at 6:20, but the day before, I received a notification that the time had changed to 7:20. I was able to confirm this change through a phone call and email from the hotel front desk, so I wasn't worried.

On the day of the pickup at 7:20, I arrived early and waited, and the car arrived right on time. The driver was a very pleasant man, and I was able to depart without any anxiety, making the climb enjoyable. There were children and elderly people climbing as well, but it was surprisingly tough. I think it's best to wear proper hiking shoes and clothing. (The night before, there had been rain and strong winds, but it was sunny in the morning. However, there were some muddy spots, so caution is needed during the rainy season.)

After finishing the climb and returning to the car, I was given a cold bottle of water. When I asked the driver, "We would like to stop by a nearby café on the way back, is it better to part ways here?" he immediately seemed to understand and asked for the name of the café, saying, "You can go ahead and drop you off there." Since it was a café near Diamond Head, I was dropped off there instead of at the hotel. I really appreciated the kindness and felt safe participating in this experience. Thank you very much. (On the way back from the café, I enjoyed a pleasant walk back to my hotel in Waikiki.)

ダイヤモンドヘッドに登るのは初めてで、登るための手続きもよくわからないし、現地に行くのにどうするか…と考えるのも面倒だったので送迎プランを申し込みました。6:20お迎えのプランで申し込みましたが、前日になって時間変更の連絡があり、7:20に変更に。その連絡はホテルのフロントからの電話とメールで確認ができたので不安はありませんでした。
当日は7:20お迎えだったので早めに待機しておりましたが、時間ぴったりに車が到着しました。とても感じのいい男性ドライバーさんで、不安なく出発→登山も楽しくできました。子供や年配の方も登っていますが、意外ときついです。きちんと登山しやすい靴・服装でいくといいと思います。（前日の夜に雨と強風が吹いており、当日朝は晴れておりました。ですが、少し足元がぬかるんでいるところがあったので、雨季は注意が必要です。）
登山を終えて車に戻ると、冷たいお水（ペットボトル）を渡してくださいました。そして、「私たちは帰りに近くのカフェに寄りたいので、ここで解散したほうがいいですか？」とドライバーさんに聞くと、すぐにそのカフェのことがわかったようでそのカフェの名前を言って聞いてくださり、「乗って行っていいよ」と言ってくださいました。ダイヤモンドヘッド近くのカフェなので、ホテルではなくカフェ近くで降ろしていただきました。とても親切で、安心して参加させていただけたことに感謝しております。ありがとうございました。（カフェの帰りはお散歩がてらワイキキのホテルまで歩いて帰りましたが気持ちよかったです。）

We participated in a whale watching tour as a family of four. The size of the boat was large, it swayed little, and it was comfortable. The hospitality and the cake were delicious. However, it was a bit disappointing that we didn't see the whales we were hoping for.

But we were able to see Diamond Head and Aloha Tower from the sea, which can only be viewed from the land, and the vast ocean that stretched on endlessly provided breathtaking views that exceeded our expectations. Although we didn't see any whales, the stunning scenery we experienced more than made up for it.

I believe the various people from different countries who joined the tour were also satisfied. Since we participated from Japan, it’s difficult to visit again soon, but I look forward to joining again next time. Thank you very much.

家族4人でホエールウォッチングツアーに参加しました。
船の規模も大きく揺れも少なく快適、おもてなしのケーキも美味しかったです。
ただ期待してた鯨が見れなかったのが少し残念です。
でも陸地からしか見れないダイアモンドヘッド、アロハタワーを海側から見れたり、ずっと続く広大な海海、期待以上の絶景の展開ばかりでした。鯨が見れなかったけれど、見られた絶景が十分カバーされていました。
一緒にツアーに参加していたいろいろな国々の方も満足されたと思います。
日本からの参加なので、すぐにまた訪れることは難しいですが、次に参加した時に楽しみにしたいと思います。

We were so disappointed with our Sunset Dinner Cruise this week.
Why oh why, when a company has it just right, do they get greedy and take away the finesse?
Having taken the steak & lobster package last year, we were so looking forward to repeating the experience - but it failed to live up to expectations.
The singer couldn't sing; we had to queue for our starter (only lettuce plated at the table; the lobster was not prepared, we were provided with lobster crackers and a pick (not what we were expecting, dressed in our best clothes); there was no finger bowl or wet wipe; our steaks were cold and the server came so infrequently we did not get to use two of our drinks vouchers.
Shame on you.

The driver was a cheerful person. It was fun! On the day I participated, most of the attendees were Japanese. They provided timely pick-up and drop-off services.

It was stated that there would be staff available who could speak Japanese, but after the initial greeting, everything was in English. There were no staff members who understood Japanese.

日本語対応可能スタッフがいると記載があったが、最初の挨拶以降は全て英語。日本語がわかるスタッフはいませんでした。

The banana cake served on board was delicious! There were paper captain hats and coloring pages available for the kids, which made our time on the ship enjoyable and meaningful. Additionally, thanks to the staff's encouragement, we were all excitedly focused on the directions where we might see something, and when we finally spotted it, we all celebrated together. It was a wonderful experience.

船内で提供されるバナナケーキがおいしかったです！子ども用に紙の船長キャップや、塗り絵が用意されていて、船内での時間を有意義に過ごすことができました。また、スタッフの方の声かけで、見える可能性のある方向をわいわい注目して、見えた瞬間にみんなで喜べたことがとても良い時間でした。

The crew will kindly guide you to the directions where you might see the best views! I was very satisfied to see the spouting and jumping, and at the end, two whales crossing paths.

It was my first time at Diamond Head, and the guide explained the best way to get there using a Japanese pamphlet, which was very easy to understand. Although the explanation was in English, it was no problem since they explained it multiple times. They also give you mineral water on the way back (laughs).

初めてのダイアモンドヘッドでしたが、ガイドさんが車内と着いてから日本語パンフレットで
一番良い行き方を説明してくれて、分かりやすかったです。英語の説明ですが、何度も説明してくれるので問題ありません。ミネラルウオーターは帰りにくれます（笑）

After setting sail in nice weather, we waited while enjoying pineapple banana cake and coffee as we approached the point. The crew provided explanations about whales, but it was disappointing that I couldn't understand the English. Just when I was starting to give up thinking we might not see any whales today, they finally made an appearance, so I felt lucky.

お天気が良い中の出航後、パイナップルバナナケーキとコーヒーをいただきながらポイントへ近づくのを待ちます。クルーの方から鯨についての説明もありましたが、英語がせっかくのお話が分からなかったので残念。なかなかクジラが現れずに今日はダメかな？と諦めかけた頃にやっと姿を現してくれたのでラッキーでした。
