If you want to take a break from the walking, shopping, and hotel hustle and bustle around Waikiki I suggest a sunset dinner cruise on the Star of Honolulu.

The five star experience on the top deck Nova Room is a relaxing evening filled with well-made bar drinks, superior cuisine, piano and mood music, and sparkling views of coastal O'ahu.

The Nova Room experience is a step above the normal pricing for the cruise, but is a good value for all you receive.

I especially enjoyed the time to talk and relax with my wife, to enjoy the coastal scenery, and to savor the various courses of the dinner as described in the promotional materials.

The service was excellent throughout the evening and the whole experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the Nova Room experience on the forth deck of the Star of Honolulu.

We participated as a couple over the age of 60. Since we were there, we decided to go to the top floor. We dressed in a way that didn't require us to touch the code. By the window, there were couples from various countries who seemed to be newlyweds, immersed in their own world, while the center seats were mostly families enjoying their meals, the scenery, and jazz. During the Memorial Day event, there was a sense of unity in celebration, but everyone enjoyed themselves at their own pace at their respective tables. Of course, we also had a leisurely and relaxed time.

The entrance to the stern was close, and it was great to see the fireworks as well as the hotel buildings on both sides. After the fireworks, when I held the door to keep it from closing like a doorman, everyone thanked me. Even a Japanese person said thank you, and we all laughed together as we realized we were fellow passengers. The food was delicious, and the portions were just right. My wife was also satisfied and very happy. Unfortunately, there was no welcome from the captain. I hope for improvement in that area. This year, I would like to try a different deck.

還暦を過ぎた夫婦２人で参加しました。折角ならと最上階へ。コードに触れない程度の服装で参加しました。窓際は新婚さんと思しき各国のカップルさんが、自分達の世界に浸り、センター席はファミリーが多く思い思いに食事、風景、ジャズを楽しんでいました。メモリアルデーイベントでは、お祝いで一体感となりましたが、各自のテーブルごとそれぞれのペースで楽しんでいました。勿論我々ものんびり、ゆったりの時間でした。

船尾への出入り口が近く、花火は勿論、ホテル群が左右に見渡せ良かったです。
花火の後、ドアマンの如くドアが閉まるのを抑えていたら、皆さんにサンキュウと言われました。日本人の方にも言われ、乗客の一人ですとお互い大笑いでした。
料理は美味しく、量も丁度良かったです。妻も満足し、大変喜んでいました。
残念ながら、船長出迎えは有りませんでした。改善を望みます。
今年は別のデッキにトライしたいと思います。

While my child was playing alone, a local child came over and played together with them a lot! Although some areas closed due to the strong wind, the slides and kids' area were well-equipped, and there were about three staff members in each area, which made me feel safe.

Before departing, I couldn't secure a reservation for the Aulani luau, so I found and booked this one instead, and I think it turned out to be a better choice.

We started at 5:00 PM and arrived about 10 minutes early on foot from Aulani. The seaside atmosphere was lovely, and I felt relaxed by the palm trees and the sunset view.

The activities before the show included Hawaiian tattoos (free with tips), stone bowling (free), a spear-throwing game called O'o'i (free), and a paid photo opportunity with tropical birds. After lining up for the Hawaiian tattoo, I managed to try stone bowling and O'o'i once each, just in time. After the experiences, we received shell leis for stone bowling and O'o'i. The paid photo with the tropical birds could be a nice keepsake, but since they were frequently pooping while on my arm, I personally found it a bit much.

We chose the Orchid Plan. I was torn between that and the Deluxe Plan, but since the show is quite long, it was easier for our family with kids to sit further back, making it more comfortable to step out if needed! Honestly, I felt that even the basic plan might have been sufficient.

I was careful about the Cove Card after reading everyone's comments, but I still made a mistake (laughs). It seems that the only place to use it for souvenirs is at the solidly built shop directly opposite the stage. Even with all the warnings I read, I still messed up, so I hope they can improve the clarity a bit… but since it’s not in Japan and my daughter liked the necklace, I’ll cherish the memory. For those who drink alcohol, it’s great, but for others, there’s free water and coffee available besides the welcome drink, so it might be better to check in advance whether the Cove Card can be used.

Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for the food, but it was delicious.

Overall, the plan was packed with experiences, and we had a great time. Thank you!

出発前に既にアウラニのルアウが取れず、こちらを見付けて予約しましたが結果こちらの方が良かったと思います。

17:00スタートでアウラニから徒歩で10分前に到着しました。海辺で雰囲気が良く、椰子の木と夕陽の景色に癒されました。

この日のショー前のアクティビティ？は、ハワイアン・タトゥ（無料／チップあり）、ストーン・ボーリング（無料）、槍投げのようなオ・オイ（無料）、南国の鳥？との写真撮影（有料）でした。ハワイアン・タトゥの列に並んでから、ストーン・ボーリングとオ・オイを1回ずつ体験して時間ギリギリでした。ストーン・ボーリングとオ・オイは体験後に貝殻レイ？が貰えます。有料の南国の鳥との撮影は記念にはなるかと思いますが、腕に居る間にかなり頻繁に糞をしていたので、個人的には無理でした。

プランはオーキッドプランにしました。デラックスプランと迷いましたが、ショーがかなり長いので子供の居る我が家は前方ではない方が席を外し易く気が楽でした！むしろ基本プランでも良かったかな？という感じです。

みなさんの書き込みを見て気を付けていたコーブカード…それでも失敗しました（笑）お土産で使えるのはステージとちょうど反対側にあるしっかりとした建物内にあるお土産屋さんのみな気がします。これだけ書き込みを見て気を付けて行った私でさえ失敗してしまうので、もう少し分かり易く改善して欲しいな…と思いますが、日本ではないのですし、娘も気に入ったネックレスだったので良い想い出にします。お酒を飲む方は良いのですが、そうではない方にはウェルカムドリンク以外にもフリーでお水はコーヒーがあるので、コーブカードが使えるかを先に確認して選ばれた方が良いかもしれません。

お食事は正直期待していなかったのですが、美味しかったです。

体験も含めて盛り沢山のプラン、とても楽しかったです。有り難うございました！

I decided to go whale watching at my father's request. After comparing several tours, I chose this one. The whale watching tours offer small, medium, and large boats, and I opted for the large boat this time due to concerns about seasickness. I wondered if I would get seasick, but I didn't at all. I was worried because the guide only spoke English, but even I, who don't understand English at all, was able to enjoy it! There were many whales, and I was moved to see more than I had imagined. The boat has four levels, and I enjoyed the different views from each floor. I also appreciated the shuttle service to the boat.

We had the most incredible time touring the Mighty Mo!! Really incredible to stand on a battleship where WWII came to an end. Saffron, our tour guide, was absolutely fantastic!!! She was so informative, interesting and kind. Could listen to her all day! We also met Alvin in the Aviation Museum and really enjoyed listening to him! We had toured the Arizona on our last visit to Hawaii and very much enjoyed that tour. Pearl Harbor is well organized and well worth the visit.

I didn't catch a lot, but it was still quite enjoyable! Unfortunately, my child got seasick, so if you're prone to motion sickness, taking medication is a must. If you understand a little bit of English, you'll have a great time. The staff were kind, and when I didn't understand English, they translated for me using their phone. They also prepared the fish right there, and it was delicious! I would love to go again if I have the chance.

The buggy experience itself was amazing! However, I got caught in a sudden downpour and ended up soaking wet (laughs). They sell ponchos at the shop, but they're really basic, so I strongly recommend bringing your own poncho from Japan if you're planning to participate. You never know when or where a downpour might happen. Also, you will get really dirty, so I highly recommend wearing dark-colored clothes.

First of all, for those going in March, it can get really cold when the wind blows, so I definitely recommend bringing hotel towels. As someone from a competitive swimming background, I regret only bringing a swim towel (laughs).

Also, lunch options are really limited to a simple slice of pizza or a hot dog, which might not be enough for adults. However, you can only bring one unopened bottle of water into the park, so there's not much you can do about that. You don't need to rent a cabana since there are free shaded chair areas available, so I think it's fine to skip that. But if you're not one of the first people in line when the park opens, it might be safer to rent one. Most of these tours include transportation and usually arrive at the venue before opening, so you can typically secure a spot anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much (laughs).

Also, not all attractions are open, so be careful about that. Flip-flops are recommended over water shoes. (However, since you ride attractions barefoot, if you're worried about walking on hot surfaces, water shoes are a good option.)

Additionally, each attraction has height restrictions, and while most of the time they don't measure, sometimes there are staff members (dressed in polo shirts, wearing beige shorts, and holding walkie-talkies) at the attractions who will measure your height strictly, and if you're even a little short, they won't hesitate to let you off (laughs). When I went with my first-grade daughter, the first time we rode was with a part-time worker who didn't measure her height at all, but the second time we were caught by that staff member and she was told she was a bit too short to ride. Even when I explained it was our second time, it didn't help.

There is a small pool for little kids, but even though it says "Not Ice," it's still pretty cold (laughs). There's also a mini water slide, but generally, you have to slide down alone, so kids who can't go down by themselves might just end up feeling cold. The prices are definitely not cheap, so I don't think we'll be going back for a second visit. There are coin lockers available for free access, but they cost between $15 and $20, and while there are showers, they only have cold water. Honestly, you might want to think that there are no hot showers anywhere in Hawaii. Given that, I think the pool might be a bit harsh for small children.

あとは、それぞれのアトラクションには身長制限があって、大抵は測られないで行けるんだけど、たまに本部の人？(ポロシャツ着て、ベージュの短パン履いてトランシーバー持っている人)がアトラクションに居ると、めっちゃしっかり身長測られて少しでも足りないと容赦なく降ろされます(笑)小１娘と乗ったときも、一回目はバイトのお兄ちゃんだったからか何も身長測られずすんなり乗れたのに、２回目はその人に捕まって少し身長が足りないからと降ろされた。2回目だと言うことを伝えても無理でした。
後は、小さい子には小さい子用のプールがあるけど、「Not Ice」って書いてあるけど普通に寒い(笑)また、ミニウォータースライダーがあるけど、基本的には１人で滑らないといけないから、逆に１人で滑れない子はただただ寒いだけかも。値段も決して安くないし、２回目はないかな。コインロッカーはあって出し入れ自由だけど15ドル～20ドルが必要なのと、シャワーはあるけど水のみです。むしろ、ハワイで温水シャワーなんてどこも無いと思った方が良いかも。そうなると、やはり小さい子には酷なプールかなと思います。

I printed the voucher and headed to the reception desk, where the check-in process went smoothly without any issues. At the desk, I installed the QR code for the Japanese guide, and I was informed about the start time of the Japanese guided tour and where to wait. Although all the information was provided in English, it was explained in a way that was easy to understand, even for someone like me who struggles with English.

The Japanese guide was supposed to last 30 minutes, but it ended up being 45 minutes, allowing me to learn about Hawaii's history in an easy-to-understand manner. The exhibits were wonderful and very impressive. In particular, the decorations on the capes and hats used bird feathers, and it was interesting to learn that these birds are already extinct.

I believe the prices from Veltra were probably discounted advance purchase rates, which were much cheaper than the regular prices, and that was a great help. If you're interested in Hawaii's history, I definitely recommend visiting.

We participated as a family. There were no Japanese people, and everything was in English. I stumbled a bit there. They were asking various questions to the customers, like "Has anyone done snorkeling before?" but I couldn't quite understand. In the end, another customer helped me with putting on the wetsuit (in English). Still, there were many Japanese families. When we got off the boat into the sea, there was a boy who panicked because he couldn't touch the bottom (of course, he was wearing a life jacket). The crew was throwing floatation devices from the boat and telling him to use them, but it didn't get through. When I asked in Japanese, "Do you want to use it?" he nodded and seemed to calm down. I think it's fine if you have no problem with everything being in English, but sometimes there are troubles...

Then there was seasickness! A few people were really groggy... some were lying down clutching bags, and a group of girls who were so excited at first looked completely exhausted. It was sad to see. My child is also prone to motion sickness, so I gave them anti-nausea candy twice, once before leaving Waikiki and once when boarding the boat, which helped. Anti-nausea measures are essential! Also, bring a towel. It gets cold when you come out of the sea! The wind was strong (while the boat was moving), and the wet body lost heat.

Finally, the kids were thrilled to get tattoo stickers, saying it felt "local"!

I saw a comment saying "no cash needed," so I didn't bring any, but I wish I had. It's a shame I couldn't give a tip to Tittha, who took great care of us. Thank you, Tittha!!

The umbrellas near the changing room are free, and they provide good shade, so I recommend them. There are paid ones further in, but they let in sunlight, and the restrooms are quite a distance away, so the free ones are more than enough!

The attractions are not too scary, and even elementary school kids can enjoy them. The area is not as large as I expected, making it easy to navigate. It was not crowded, so we were able to ride multiple times, and the kids seemed to be having a great time going around in groups.

This was a fun island activity and a romantic dinner for two. Other passengers also looked to be having a great time. The best part of the cruise was the opportunity to see the waikiki beach from the water. The weather cooperated and we also had a beautiful sunset. All of the food was picture perfect and tasty but smaller portions than I expected and it was certainly the smallest maine lobster I have ever seen. The upstairs on the ship was set up like a very nice restaurant, white tablecloths and the wait staff were in black suits - very fancy. The wait staff was polite and as professional as could be but as far as I could tell there was only one waiter for the entire top section this made getting drinks a bit slow. The jazz music was mostly just piano and was too loud for the room the piano had a microphone set up and it seems like it could have been turned down a notch. I shouldn't have to strain to hear the person I'm eating with who it just across the table, the couple next to us made the same comment about the volume. The singer on the other hand was wonderful and had a beautiful voice. My expectation was there would be some mellow jazz playing while we were eating, I suppose the singer had to provide some entertainment on one of the other decks while the piano played upstairs. All in all an okay experience but the photo ads and descriptions are playing it up a bit. Again best part of the voyage was the view.

We went to the venue with a funny and hospitable bus guide. The venue is located by the sea and has a beautiful view. The welcome drink was delicious, and we enjoyed various events before the show, such as hula lessons and a tree climbing show. The buffet dinner was also tasty. The show on the main stage featured various dances from the Polynesian region, and we had a great time. It can get a bit chilly at night, so I think having a light jacket would be good. There is no guidance in Japanese at all, but I think you can still enjoy it even if you don't understand English. My companion, who doesn't speak any English, also had a great time.

My husband and I recently booked the tickets and shuttle to hike Diamond Head as I was reading how you had to have reservations to hike unless you are local. This is a change since the first time I hiked it when you didn’t have to make reservations. We also didn’t rent a car this visit, so the shuttle was perfect as it dropped us off and picked us up at a designated time. We were given tips on the way there as well as instructions how to make the hike more enjoyable. I highly recommend going with this company as you have three times to choose from to be picked up without the dynamics of reserving tickets or driving there or finding parking which is limited. The shuttle takes you as close to the trailhead as possible

The weather was windy and the sea was cold, which was disappointing, but overall it was a good day.

It's a free plan where you can set your own schedule. I think it's a good idea to think about the places you want to visit in advance.

We first rented bicycles and snorkeling gear, and then headed to Lanikai Beach. It took about 10 minutes by bike.

They also told us the best spots for snorkeling, and we quickly jumped into the water. We borrowed life jackets, so even though it was windy, we were able to float and see underwater. I was surprised to see so many different kinds of fish swimming in the shallow water—I didn't expect to see that much! It was cold, so we got out quickly, but I want to try again on a hot day.

For lunch, we had the pizza included in the plan. It was very large and satisfying.

In the afternoon, we went to Kailua Town, but since I hadn't done much research on the shops and didn't have many places I wanted to visit, we just wandered around and ended up not doing much.

If the weather had been better, I would have loved to enjoy the sea more...

I want to try again.

自転車・シュノーケリングの道具をレンタルし、
ラニカイビーチまで行きました。
自転車では10分程で着きました。

すぐに海に潜りました。
ライフジャケットも借りたので、風が強かったですが、ぷかぷか浮きながら海中を見ることができました。
浅瀬でもいろいろな種類の魚が泳いでいて
こんなに見れると思わなかったのでびっくりでした！
寒くてすぐ上がってしまいましたが、またいつか暑い日にリベンジしたいです、、

お昼はプランについているピザを食べました。
とても大きくて満足です。

午後はカイルアタウンに出向きましたが、あまりお店の下調べをしておらず、行きたいところもそこまでなかったのでぷらぷらして終わりました。

天気が良ければもっと海を満喫したかったです…

またリベンジしたいです。
