It was cold since we left early in the morning. The bus had the air conditioning on, so it was a good decision to bring a long-sleeved shirt. The cruise was comfortable, and we were able to see sea turtles and whales. It was a pity we didn't see any dolphins, but it was great to see the whales since they are only available in winter!

I have to say I really enjoyed the Chief's Luau! After I got past the fact that it was situated in a water park, and got to the actual venue, I was able to forget there was anything there but the Luau! The grounds and setting were lovely, and I had a beautiful view of the show. I participated in the whale watching tour on the Star of Honolulu with a pickup from Waikiki (with snacks and drinks included). There were many participants on the large boat. I participated in a trip with my mother and daughter. We arrived at Aloha Tower right at 8:00, but we couldn't board immediately and had to wait outside. The port's restroom was locked and unavailable for use.

It was unfortunate that we encountered wind and rain during the rainy season.

波が高く、クジラは姿は確認出来なかったのですが、潮吹きを何度か見られました。割と近くで何度か潮吹きが見られたので、乗船客の皆んなが指を差して盛り上がっていました。天候に恵まれれば更に良く見えたかもしれません。
送迎付きは午前中だけで体験できるので、午後も有効にゆったり過ごせるので楽でした。

Our driver was wonderful and funny. I appreciate that he called us to tell us he had arrived at the pick-up spot. We didn’t see the van pull up and he was parked behind us. The hike is demanding especially in the rain. It was quite slippery on the way down. We had already purchased ponchos, but our driver had some for sale. We were able to complete the hike easily within the timeframe, and had time to stop in the gift shop. Just be aware of the weather and plan accordingly. Good shoes are a must!
It was authentic and highly entertaining, and my 6-year-old daughter was very happy. It was the best luau I've seen so far. I will go again next year. The food was not something to expect.
