The official website of the USS Missouri Memorial (https://ussmissouri.org/) also sells tickets, but I couldn't purchase them with my Japanese credit card, so I bought them through VELTRA. There are so many highlights that it might be difficult to see everything in one day. I considered other sightseeing tours departing from Honolulu, but I decided to split my visit into two days to take my time.

I purchased tickets for the Captain's Tour and the Chief Engineer's Tour (in Japanese) on the day of my visit, and they showed us places that are normally off-limits, making it a very interesting tour.

After visiting the USS Missouri, watching the movies "Battleship" and "Midway" provided a different perspective.

We were able to spot quite a few whales. While we didn't see any huge jumps with half their bodies out of the water, we did see them spouting water and their tails and dorsal fins coming out of the surface multiple times. I heard that the ocean is more beautiful than Waikiki Beach, so I decided to join. It was tough to wake up early and participate, but Hanauma Bay was more stunning than I imagined. I also think there are more fish to see compared to Waikiki Beach. I wasn't confident in my swimming skills, but I enjoyed the wide area where I could stand in shallow water.

The hotel provided a shuttle service, making transportation easy, and the crew on the boat was great at engaging with us, which made it a lot of fun. At the sandbar, we were able to take beautiful photos, and while snorkeling, we saw a sleeping turtle and many colorful fish. The large coral was truly impressive. The kids also had a great time and were very happy, creating wonderful memories. The hamburgers on the boat were also very delicious.

Unfortunately, I didn't understand about 80% of the English explanations, but when there were whales, it was very easy to understand the direction based on the time on the clock relative to the boat. I was a bit anxious since it was an English-speaking driver. It seemed like the meeting point was different, and even after 10 minutes, the driver hadn't arrived. When I tried to contact them, the line was busy. Just when I was starting to think they might not come, the driver called my name loudly, and I was able to get on safely. During the ride, I couldn't understand the announcements at all, and since we were the only Japanese people, I felt a bit isolated, haha. We also received two bottles of mineral water for the round trip! Since it was just a plan to climb, I didn't feel rushed and was able to fully enjoy the scenery and nature. However, I later found out that taking the bus would have been significantly cheaper, which was a good lesson learned.

乗船後に提供された軽食のパイナップルバナナブレッドもとても美味しく、紅茶やコーヒーと一緒に船内で食べることができました！
クジラの説明など日本語でのアナウンスもきちんとありますので、英語がわからなくても大丈夫です。生き物ですので毎回見られるとは限りませんが、多少遠くても船が近づいていってくれるので、参加して良かったと思います！

I was worried that my daughter, who easily gets seasick because it's a large ship, might have a hard time, but despite taking motion sickness medication, she ended up feeling sick. 😭 She couldn't even go out on deck and just sat in a chair, waiting for the return to port. I don't know why the medication didn't work, but it was unfortunate, especially since she was looking forward to it more than anyone. 😒

We were able to see whales a few times, although from a distance. 😊👌

It was my first time snorkelling, and the experience was fantastic! The equipment was clean, well-maintained, and easy to use. If you're not comfortable swimming in the ocean like me, I highly recommend renting a life vest for extra confidence.

From the start, everything was well-organized. The shuttle bus driver was friendly and informative, sharing insights about Oahu’s geography, and pointing out tourist attractions and great restaurants along the way. He even handed out pictures of ocean creatures we might spot, which made the ride even more exciting!

Overall, a great experience, I’d definitely recommend it!

I participated in February. At first, I was really wondering if I would be able to see them, but I was able to see four of them! When we went out to sea, they stopped the boat's engine and drove slowly and quietly, which allowed us to see two of them up close. I was moved by their size. They seemed to be playing together, possibly a mother and her child or siblings.

Before heading out to sea, we listened to explanations about safety and the characteristics and ecology of humpback whales inside the boat. I read in reviews that there would be staff who spoke Japanese, but it seemed there weren't any when we participated. I was with a friend who spoke English, so she briefly explained the content to me, but I thought it would be nicer if there were written explanations in various languages available (though I could generally understand without them).

The pineapple cake served as a snack was delicious, and I ended up asking for a second helping!

2月に参加しました。初めは本当に見ることができるのかなあと思っていましたが、4頭、本当に見ることができました！　沖に出ると船のエンジン？を止めてゆっくり静かに運転してくれて、それによってそのうち2頭はすぐ間近で見ることができ、大きさを目の当たりにして感動しました。親子なのか兄弟なのか、2頭で遊んでいるようでした。

　出航後沖に出るまでは、船内で、安全についての説明やザトウクジラの特徴や生態についての説明を聞きます。日本語が話せるスタッフがいると口コミに書かれていましたが、私たちが参加した際はいないようでした。英語が話せる友人と一緒だったので、彼女に内容を簡単に教えてもらいましたが、各言語の説明書きなどが置いてあるとより親切かなと思いました。（なくても大体分かりますが）

We went all the way to Diamond Head and anchored for a long time near Waikiki Beach. They said there were whales, but even after anchoring for almost an hour, we couldn't see any. The way this show was organized and put together was amazing. We enjoyed every aspect of the show. They made it feel like you were a part of the performance the entire time. The only reason I gave the good rating was because the photographer didn't take enough time arranging our family of 17 so you could see everyone in the photo. Also she quickly snapped the two pictures before we were ready so eyes were closed in both pictures. We also wanted individual family photos and she wouldn't do it for us. She would have made more money by all of us buying a photo package. The food was OK, it was a little cold and the pork was dried out.

It included transportation, but since it didn't stop at our hotel, we walked to the hotel across the street. The large bus arrived on time and took us to the boarding area!

As soon as we got off the bus, we boarded the boat and took some commemorative photos! Later, a staff member came around to show us the pictures they took! We decided to purchase one as a keepsake (laughs). Then, we enjoyed the breakfast we had been looking forward to. The morning coffee was really great!

あっという間に下船になり、バスに乗ってホテルへ戻りました。

個人的にはめちゃくちゃよかったです！とにかくハワイの海で船に乗りながらのんびりできたのもよかったし、クジラも見れて感動しました！大きな船なので船酔いもしないかなと思います！（一応酔い止めは飲んでおいた方が🙆‍♀️）

トイレもたくさんありました！すごく綺麗なわけではないですが、全然大丈夫です！また行きたいです🌴🤙

This was my third trip to Hawaii, and for the first time, I participated in a solo trip. The large bus arrived right on time at the Sheraton hotel 🚌. This time, the tour was made up entirely of international guests.

When we boarded the Star of Honolulu, the captain welcomed us. There was a photo opportunity with the crew as we entered the ship. Later, the crew developed the photos and offered them for sale. I think it was around $26. Many people chose not to buy them, but I purchased one as a keepsake. By the way, they only accept credit cards.

Once on board, I quickly enjoyed some drinks and light snacks. There was a booklet with explanations about whales in Japanese, which I skimmed through, followed by an explanation from the captain about the whales. しばらくすると、船長が船内放送で「◯時の方向にクジラがいます(英語)」と放送されるとみんな慌ててカメラを向けて探します。
運良く親子のクジラに遭遇できました。
今回は潮吹きだけで、大きい仕草を見れなかったのは残念でしたが、遭遇できただけでもよかったです。

お天気にも恵まれ最高のクルージングになりました。
