This time, my friends and I participated in a morning tour. Due to our hotel arrangements, a bus from the prestigious Dolphin University picked us up at 6:05 AM. Since the pickup time was early, I was a bit sleepy. The guide was Japanese, and during the bus ride, they provided us with detailed information about safety precautions and snorkeling equipment.

After an hour of travel, we arrived at Board Harbor around 7:30 AM. We had time for a restroom break and to change clothes before departure. This time was very helpful.

After that, the tour I had been looking forward to for a long time, to see wild dolphins up close, began. The boat we boarded was entirely blue and felt relatively new.

The veteran captain and several local supporters searched for dolphins, but unfortunately, we were unable to find any. I'm not sure if it was bad luck or if the season wasn't right, but we couldn't see the dolphins we had been excited about.

However, we were able to experience snorkeling and other marine sports, and the supporters brought humor, making it an enjoyable tour.

今回は友達と３人で、午前中のツアーに参加しました。宿泊したホテルの関係で、あさ６時０５分に、名門イルカ大学のバスが迎えに来ました。迎え時間が早かったので、すこしねむかったです。案内の方が日本人の方で、移動中のバスの中で、注意事項やシュノーケリング器具など、いろいろと詳しく教えていただきました。
１時間の移動で、７時半ごろにボードハーバに着きました。出発前に、トイレ休憩と着替えの時間はありました。この時間を用意していただいて、大変助かりました。
その後、ずっとまえから楽しみにしていた野生のイルカを間近で見るツアーが始まりました。私たちは乗った船が全体ブルーで、比較的に新しいものだと感じます。
ベテラン船長さんと何人かの現地のサポーターたちはずっと、イルカを探しましたが、残念ながら、イルカを見つけることができませんでした。運が悪かったのか、季節が良くなかったのかがわかりませんが、楽しみにしていたイルカを見ることができませんでした。
でも、シュノーケリングや他のマリンスポーツを体験できたし、サポーターたちがユーモア、楽しいツアーでした。

This is my fourth time, and I am impressed that each time the experience has been upgraded.

Swimming with the dolphins feels like an interaction, but with Dolphin & You, you swim freely in the vast ocean alongside dolphins that are swimming leisurely in groups, and I felt as if I received a mysterious power from them.

My 5-year-old grandchild was crying but was happy to say, "I saw a dolphin."

Also, I was delighted to reunite with Kaia, a staff member I met nine years ago. Thank you, Kaia.

今回で4回目。毎回内容がアップグレードしてて感動しています。

飼育されているイルカと一緒に泳ぐのは「ふれあい」のような感じですが、ドルフィン＆Ｙｏｕは、群れてゆったりと自由に泳いでるイルカと一緒に大海原で泳ぎ、イルカから不思議なパワーがもらえた気持ちになります。

5歳の孫も泣きながらですが「イルカが見えた」と喜んでくれました。

そして、９年前に参加した時のスタッフのカイアに再会できて嬉しかったです。『カイア』ありがとう。

Perhaps the season has come to an end. I was on the boat for about an hour, but that was all. I also couldn't receive the reboarding ticket. Since it is valid only during the same season, I wouldn't have been able to use it anyway... In any case, I didn't do enough research on my part.

おそらくシーズンは終わってしまったのかもしれませんね。
1時間ほど船に揺られたということでそれ以上にはなりませんでした。
再乗船チケットも受け取れませんでした。
同一シーズン中有効とのことですので受け取っても使えませんでしたが・・・。
いずれにしても自分の下調べが足りませんでした。

I highly recommend the Jungle Expedition & Kualoa Legend Tour. It was thrilling, just like Indiana Jones. I didn’t check the list of activities, so I didn’t realize that horseback riding wasn’t included and had to pay an additional fee to change it on-site. Be aware that horseback riding and buggies are not options to choose from. There was plenty of time for horseback riding, and I enjoyed the great outdoors of Kualoa while riding. I thought the horseback riding and jungle expedition were excellent.

ジャングル探検＆クアロア伝説ツアーがお勧め。インディジョーンズさながらのスリリング感を楽しめました。アクティビティ一覧を確認しなかったため乗馬が含まれていないことに気が付かず、現地で追加料金を支払い変更しました。乗馬、バギーは選択できませんので注意が必要です。乗馬の時間もたっぷりあり、クアロアの大自然を馬に乗りながら楽しめました。乗馬とジャングル探検は非常に良かったと思います。

I was disappointed that we did not get to go on the USS Arizona memorial. That was supposed to be the highlight of the tour. However our tour guide Jay was very knowledgeable of the tour and made the Honolulu city tour very nice.

The park opens at 10:30, but closing at 16:00 is too early! Because of this, the bus departure was set for 15:15, so time flew by. Since it was Saturday, there were long lines for the slides, making it difficult to enjoy many rides. Even though they said drinks were all-you-can-drink, I didn't have time to drink while waiting in line for the slides. However, my daughter was very happy. The BBQ was a buffet-style lunch. Since we didn't cook it ourselves, my daughter was a bit disappointed. By the way, it said we would receive park souvenirs, but we didn't get any! There was no explanation about that; I wonder what happened? The only benefit felt like the free WiFi rental.

10:30開園なのに閉園が16:00は早過ぎ！このため15:15に帰りのバス集合となるので、あっという間に時間が過ぎてしまいました。土曜日ということもあって、スライダーも並ぶので沢山は滑れないのが難点。飲み物飲み放題と言っても飲んでる時間も無くスライダーに並んでました。でも娘は大喜びでしたが。BBQはビュッフェ形式のランチです。自分で焼くわけでは無かったので、娘はちょっと残念がってた。
ところで、パーク記念品（souvenir)が貰えるって書いてあるけど、貰ってない！説明も無かったよぉあれはなんだったんだろう？お得感はWiFi 無料貸出特典だけか。

The meeting point was within walking distance from the hotel where we were staying, making it easy to get to. Since it finished in half a day, we were able to make good use of the afternoon as well.

集合場所も宿泊していたホテルから徒歩圏内で行きやすかったです。
半日で終わるので午後からの時間も有効利用できてよかったです。

I had heard from a colleague who went on a different day that it was very beautiful, but unfortunately, the day we went was cloudy. I had heard it would be very cold, so it was a good decision to bring warm clothing. The bus ride back was especially cold.

別の日に行った同僚からとても綺麗だと聞いていましたが、私たちが行った日は曇っていて残念でした。
とても寒いことは聞いていたので防寒着を持っていって正解でした。
帰りのバスが特に寒いです。

It was awesome! The crew was fantastic. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone and everyone!

Skipper, photographer, and crew member were great and funny. Was a great experience and we were the first ones in the water so that was great.

this was a great day with plenty of variety. The guide we had was able to continue (seemingly without drawing breath) with an informative and entertaining history of the site. At the same time driving safely and ensuring that we didn't miss a thing.

After the plane arrived, I went straight there. I was sleepy from the time difference, but I had so much fun that I forgot my fatigue. For lunch, I ate at the concession stand, but I thought the system of waiting 15 minutes in the ordering lane and then another 15 minutes in the receipt lane to get my order was a bit much. Since you can't bring in food or drinks, you have to eat there. Other than that, I had a great time and was satisfied. I want to go again. I recommend this way for those who want to adjust to the time difference. You can sleep well at night!

飛行機到着後、すぐに行ってきました。時差で眠たかったけど楽しくて疲れを忘れました。お昼は売店で食べたのですが、オーダーするレーンで１５分まってさらに注文を受けとるレーンでレシートを持って１５分待たなくてはいけないシステムはどうにかならないかなーと思いました。ご飯類飲み物などは持ち込めないのでここで食べないと食べれません。それ以外は楽しくて満足しています。また行きたいです。時差ボケを修正したい方はこの行き方をお勧めします。夜はゆっくり眠れますよー

Sandbar. I was really looking forward to it! However, it was unfortunately rainy and cold in late March. I recommend bringing a jacket and a large towel. Nonetheless, the tour was really fun, I got to see sea turtles, and the food was delicious, so I was very satisfied. Next time, I want to go back on a sunny day!

サンドバー。とっても楽しみにしてました！ただ、三月後半でしたが生憎の雨で、寒かったー。上着や大きめバスタオルを持っていくことをお勧めします。ただ、ツアーはほんとに楽しくて、途中ウミガメもみれたし、ご飯も美味しく、大満足でした。次回は晴れた日にリベンジしたい！

Last time, in August, it was incredibly hot, and I couldn't walk without flip-flops. Additionally, there were many people, and we had to wait a lot in line. However, this time in early March, it wasn't cold and was quite comfortable. There weren't many people, so we could ride our favorite attractions multiple times without much waiting, which was great.

Last time, we went on a tour that included a BBQ, but the food was served in a tent-like area, and the tough meat provided wasn't very tasty. This time, we opted for just the free drinks and bought hot dogs, French fries, and fried chicken from the concession stand. The prices were cheaper this time, and the food was delicious, which was a nice change.

Our family loves thrill rides, so we definitely want to go back when we visit Hawaii again.

前回は8月ということもあり、ものすごく暑く、ビーチサンダルなしでは歩けないほどでした。
更に、人も多く、順番待ちの時間が多かったですが、今回は3月初旬だったので、寒いわけでもなく、過ごしやすかったです。また、人も多くなく、ほとんど順番待ちをせずに、好きなものを何回でも乗ることが出来て良かったです。
前回はBBQ付きのツアーで行きましたが、テントみたいな場所で、用意されたかたいお肉で、あまり美味しくなかったので、今回はフリードリンクだけ付けて、食事は売店で、ホットドッグやフライドポテト、フライドチキンを買いました。値段も今回の方が安く、美味しかったので良かったです。
絶叫系が好きな我が家はハワイに行ったら、また行きたいと思っています。

It was cloudy, but the clarity of the sea was very evident. It was a beautiful ocean. The staff were always smiling and made an effort to entertain the guests. It was wonderful.

曇ってはいましたが、海の透明度はよく分かりました。とても綺麗な海でした。スタッフの皆さんは、ゲストを楽しませようと、ずっと笑顔の対応でした。素晴らしいです。

I boarded on March 23, 2017, but I didn't see any whales at all. Therefore, I received a re-boarding ticket valid until January 31, 2018. I plan to come back to Hawaii again before the expiration date! ♬

2017/3/23に乗船しましたが、鯨は全く見れませんでした。そのため、2018/1/31まで有効な再乗船券をもらいました。期限内までにまたハワイに来ようと思いました♬

We arrived early and had a few problems getting on board because I couldn't find my eVoucher.
But, the staff was very friendly and helped me find my information.
While on board everything was very comfortable and there was plenty of room to walk around.
Food was OK but you can't beat the views of the island from the south shore.

Since it was March, the water was still cold for snorkeling, and we didn't see many sea turtles, but we had plenty of free time at the sandbar. We were able to take photos with the instructor and play with a ball, fully enjoying our time at the sandbar. It was also great that we were served freshly made hamburgers on the boat. I definitely want to participate again when I go to Hawaii.

3月だったためシュノーケルにはまだ水が冷たかったり、ウミガメがあまり見れなかったりはしましたが、サンドバーでの自由時間が十分に確保されていて、インストラクターさんに写真を撮ってもらったり、ボールで遊んだりと、サンドバーを満喫することができました。船でできたてのハンバーガーを出していただいたのもとても良かったです。またハワイに行く時は是非参加したいです。

I'm not sure if there was a reboarding coupon or not. I don't have it on hand, but since it's only valid during the same season, it wouldn't matter anyway.

I signed up because the price was cheap, but I didn't do enough research.

I was looking forward to the cruise, but unfortunately, no whales appeared. We participated in the morning cruise, but I later heard from locals that there is a relatively better chance of seeing them in the afternoon. Since our travel schedule was tight, we didn't need tickets for a re-boarding. The breakfast before departure was delicious.

期待して乗船したのですが、残念ながら鯨は現れませんでした。私達は午前のクルーズに参加しましたが、後から現地の方に聞いた話では比較的午後のほうが現れるチャンスがあるのだとか。。。。旅行のスケジュールがタイトだったので再乗船のチケットは不要でした。出発前の朝食はおいしかったです。

I participate every year as usual. This time, the ship's anchor was malfunctioning, and we were stranded on the sea for nearly an hour.

It might be popular, but it’s gradually becoming boring... I won’t go anymore. It’s always the same.

毎年恒例のように参加。
今回は船のイカリが調子が悪く1時間近く海の上で立往生。

人気かもしれないがだんだんつまらなくなる・・・
もういかない。
いつもかわりばえしない。

I know it's just the luck of the draw and bad timing but 5 or 6 people got sick on our trip due to high waves. Maybe cancelling the trip would have been best because after all that, the provided meal was not at all appetizing. Yes we saw a couple green sea turtles, but it would have been much, much better without the fear of human projectile.

Understanding the boats cannot come closer than 100 yards, outs seemed to stay 200-300 yards away. Unless you have a telephoto lens, just use your eyes and retain the memory because any other camera, including phones and GoPros, will just show the whales as a small blip.

My parents in their 70s participated (I had to act separately because I have children). The weather was nice, and it seems they had a wonderful cruise. They were able to see plenty of whales and got a close view of Diamond Head.

Since it's an early morning tour, it can be tough, but you can make good use of the afternoon, so I recommend the morning tour. Even my parents, who are in their 70s and have no English skills at all, enjoyed participating. If you're considering optional tours for a three-generation trip, definitely think about this tour. It will surely create wonderful memories.

天気も良く素晴らしいクルーズになったようです。
クジラも十分に見ることができ、ダイヤモンドヘッドも間近に見れたそうです。

朝早いツアーなので大変ですが、午後からの時間を有効に使えるので午前のツアーがオススメです。
70代の英語が全くだめな両親でも楽しく参加できました。
もし三世代旅行のオプショナルツアーに迷っていたらぜひこのツアーを検討してみてください。きっと素晴らしい思い出になること間違いなしです。

Maybe I was expecting too much. Since we went on a large bus and a big boat, there were a lot of people, and we had to line up for snorkeling, which made it difficult to move and we kept bumping into others. It was also disappointing that there weren't many fish; there were more at Waikiki Beach, haha. Snorkeling was hard because I didn't have fins, so it was tough to get around. Next time, I want to choose a different optional tour with a smaller group.

期待しすぎていたのかな。
大型バス、大型の船で行くので人が多くて、シュノーケリングも列で並んで進まないといけないし、人にぶつかるし、あまり魚がいないのも残念だった。ワイキキビーチの方が魚いた笑
シュノーケリングは足ヒレがないからなかなか進みずらかった。
今度は少人数での別のオプショナルツアーにしたいと思う。

I would highly recommend this tour. It was very fun, staff were all amazing and we got amazing photos and views of Honolulu. Great short trip (a few hours). We got to see a school of dolphins swimming along the boat which was also amazing.

The seats you are guided to when you board the ship are just for the initial explanation, so don't worry if your seat doesn't have a view of the sea. After the explanation, you can freely go out to the deck. Since the wind can be cold, I recommend bringing something to wear. I was able to see the whales jumping clearly. I also saw swimming sea turtles. Everything was explained in English.

説明終了後に自由にデッキに出られます。
風が冷たいので羽織るものを持参されると良いと思います。
くじらのジャンプをしっかり見ることができました。
泳いでいるウミガメも見れました。
すべて英語の説明でした。

It was great to see the humpback whales swimming right in front of us multiple times and to witness them spouting water. My children and my mother-in-law were also delighted.

Since it was a live event, I was worried about various risks such as weather and the possibility of not seeing the animals, but everything turned out perfectly. Additionally, making leis at the craft event, where the whole family created the same lei to take home, became a wonderful memory.

Next time, I would like to come with my own parents.

ザトウクジラの泳ぐ姿が何度も目の前で見られたり、潮を吹くのを見れ、子供も帯同した義母も喜んでもらえ、よかったです。
ナマモノなイベントだけに、天候リスク、動物が出てこないリスクなどをいろいろと心配しながらも、すべてがパーフェクトにでき、かつ民芸イベントでのレイ作りは、家族みんなで同じレイを作り、持って帰れ、良い思い出になりました。

次回は、自分の両親と来たいな、と思います。
