We participated as a couple in our 70s. First of all, the view from the ship was amazing! We were able to see the buildings of Hawaii and Diamond Head from the sea side, and we enjoyed it even when we couldn't see any whales. We spotted whales about three times! Although we couldn't see their entire bodies, we were able to see their tails and the spouts. The interior of the ship was spacious, and we could go out to the deck from various levels, which made it fun to experience the different views. Right after boarding, there was a photo session, and we received the developed photos at the end. Onboard, we could purchase light snacks, soft drinks, and alcohol.

In February, the beach was completely submerged with about 30 cm of seawater, but the clarity of the ocean was impressive. The staff was friendly, and there were Japanese guides available, which was reassuring. The snorkeling experience with the coral reefs was also quite worthwhile. I purchased the Rock-A-Hula Luau Dinner with Green Room VIP Package as part of an early Valentines trip to the Island of Oahu. We are a couple who have been to each of the main Hawaiian Islands and look for unique experiences each place we travel. We have participated in other Luau's in Hawaii and similar other events in other places we have traveled. Upon arrival we were greeted with flower lei's. Then had Champagne and appetizers in the Green Room which had furnishings from Elvis's home. Cameron the manager who gave us the tour was very informative and could tell he had a passion for the production and the crew. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming and during dinner came around and performed various songs, dances, and even did a "Hula Lesson" for anyone who wanted to participate. The food and drinks were very good as well. Following Dinner we went back to the main theatre for the show which was a good blend of history and entertainment. We appreciated the screens showing the history and how it coordinated with the entertainment on stage. Overall the Green room/Backstage tour experience was very good and we are glad to have opted for this option but also would recommend just the dinner and show experience.

Meet at Pier 8 near Aloha Tower at 8:00 AM.
There is a shuttle service, but you can also take The Bus from Waikiki for just $3 one way!
I arrived before 8:00 AM, and check-in started right at 8:00, with check-in open until around 8:30. It's definitely better to arrive early.
We departed on time, and the female guide spoke various things in English to the participants, but I couldn't understand anything. (laughs)
After that, we were told we could freely move around the deck, and I looked out at the sea from the third floor, searching for whales.
The explanations about the whales were given alternately in English and Japanese, which was very educational and enjoyable.
Later, we heard an announcement about the direction of a spout, and everyone stared in that direction, but we didn't see any whales until the end of the cruise.
Well, it's nature, so it can't be helped.
That said, the view of Diamond Head from the sea was very beautiful, and it was a great experience.
When we were getting off the boat, there was an announcement that those who wanted could get tickets to ride again. If you're confident in your English, feel free to ask.

その後は自由にデッキを移動して良いと言われ、3階から海を眺めクジラを探しました。
クジラについての説明が英語と日本語交互で行われ、とても勉強になったし楽しかったです。
その後、潮吹きが何時の方向で見えましたのアナウンスを聞きみんなでそちらの方向を凝視するもクルージング終了までクジラは現れず。
まあ、自然相手なので仕方ないですね。
とは言え海から見るダイヤモンドヘッドはとても綺麗で、良い体験になりました。
船を降りる時、希望者はまた乗れるチケットをくれるとアナウンスがありました。英語で伝えられる自信がある人は言ってみてください。
ホノルル滞在時間を考えるとまたチャレンジするのは無理かなと思い、今回は特段振り替えませんでした。次乗った時見れるとも限りませんからね、、、。

My child (11 years old) seemed to have the most fun here. There are also floaties available. There are thrilling rides, but my child ended up crying, so please be cautious. It might be a little scary for kids at first, but once they get used to it, it's no problem! Some of the thrill rides require you to take off your glasses, so those who wear glasses should be careful. I put mine in my pocket.

We added lunch to the tour, but I thought it was a bit insufficient. It might be better to plan on purchasing your own food.

You can immediately tell it’s a special setting. The sunset view across the sea from the window, combined with the magical beauty of the sunset, creates the perfect location. I didn't have high expectations for the food, but everything was delicious with delicate seasoning. By the time we reached the main course, I was usually quite full, and even if they served a steak with an overly marbled texture at that point, I could only manage a bite. However, the steak had a good balance of texture, which I personally rated highly. There was piano music, saxophone, and live jazz singing, creating an extraordinary atmosphere that matched the dress code. The captain greeted each guest, and the staff's attentive service was refined. I have participated in sunset cruises several times, but this was my first sunset cruise on the Honolulu. Perhaps because it was a weekday, all the middle seats were empty, and we were seated by the window with a view. The atmosphere was very nice, and the guests, wearing bright red dresses, added a touch of elegance to the space. The course meal included an appetizer of assorted cheeses, a salad (with lobster), a sorbet in between, thick-cut roast beef with truffle mashed potatoes, cheesecake, and coffee. It was truly one of my favorite things this trip. The crew were so nice and pleasant. The weather was a bit windy and the sandbar wasn’t fully out even with all that the experience was one of my favorites.
The crew helped you out throughout the whole experience. One of the guides even helped me with my snorkel experience and guided me. It was one of my favorite things to do and would recommend this activity to anyone I know. Thank you to all the wonderful crew, I am sorry that I can’t remember all the names. And thank you to my guide that helped me with the snorkel experience you have no idea how grateful I am. Overall, one of the top activities to do.

Nova Five Star package should be renamed to, 'Ten Star.' The reason being this package was over the top elegant, professional, and accommodating. Each table had their own charcuterie board, which was perfect snack to get the evening started.

The meal was served in an order that was so unique. I had never had sorbet in the middle of a meal, and I'm still dreaming of the texture and flavor. The presentation/ quality of food was very impressive. Each course amazed me more and more!

The music throughout the meal was so relaxing, and set the mood for a delightful evening. If you are looking for an intimate evening with your loved one, this is the package for you!

Mahalo to SOH for going the extra mile to create a magical space!

We did the dinner cruise with the Nova Five Star on the 4th deck of the boat and it was a treat and we really had a great time. Their table set up at the Super Nova Room was so beautiful, clean, so organized, and elegant! We had our own private table seating next to the window and we enjoyed the night view even without having to explore the boat.

We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious dinner. The steak was exceptionally tender, and the fresh fruit sorbet was our favorite. The servers provided excellent service as well, and the entertainment complemented the rainy weather, creating a more relaxing atmosphere.

Anyone looking for a romantic celebration on Valentine's Day, Anniversary, or any special occasion, the NOVA Five Star aboard the Star of Honolulu is an ideal choice.

For those seeking for a smaller crowd and more privacy, I would recommend booking the Nova Five Star cruise on Thursdays as it is not as busy as on the weekends.

I participated in the Heaven's Sea sandbar and snorkeling tour, which included a barbecue lunch.

In the end, I had the amazing experience of seeing a honu (sea turtle) right in front of me and swimming together for a while, but the cold before and after was beyond what I had imagined.

The wind was strong, it was cloudy, and there were no elements to warm us up at all, so older participants either didn't get in from the start or gave up early.

I borrowed two large towels from the hotel and brought a down jacket, which was just about right. There were some people who seemed completely fine, so there is a personal difference.

If it hadn't been cold, it would have been an incredibly fun activity. The staff taking care of us were very pleasant, and I'm glad I chose this tour.

I was expecting a bit better for lunch, but it was still quite delicious.

For the barbecue, we had grilled meat patties sandwiched in hamburger buns, with cheese, tomato, lettuce, and onion inside. There were also boiled beans, fruit, and chips.

They provided warm drinks as well, and I was impressed by how the small number of staff managed to serve such a large group.

結果的にはホヌに目の前で会えて、しばらく一緒に泳げるという、最高の体験が出来ましたが、その前後の寒さは、想像以上でした。

大きめのタオル2枚、ホテルから借りて持っていき、ダウンも持って行って、ちょうどくらいでした。
中には全然平気な方もいらっしゃったので、個人差がありますね。

寒くなければ最高に楽しいアクティビティでした。お世話をしてくださる方々もとても感じ良くて、こちらを選んで良かったです。
ランチは、もう少し良いものを期待していましたが、十分美味しかったです。

バーベキューグリルで、焼いたお肉のパテをハンバーガーのバンズではさみ、中にはチーズ、トマト、レタス、オニオン。
あとは煮豆と果物、チップスでした。

温かい飲み物も、提供があるし、あれだけ沢山の人数を少数スタッフでさばけているのがすごかったかな。

This was my husband and I's first time whale watching and first time in Hawaii. We were welcomed aboard the Star of Honolulu by friendly crew members. The boat experience alone was great. The education we obtained from the tour was helpful because although, we didn't see a whale breach that day, we were able to spot one the next couple of days with the information that we obtained from the tour. Definitely would recommend this tour to family and friends!

The weather was bad on the day I participated, so I couldn't see the sunset, and the ferry was a bit rocky, which was disappointing. The performance was very good, but small children were startled by the loud noises. The food didn't quite suit my taste.

It was a windy day, so perhaps due to that, the boat rocked quite a bit. With the wind and the cold, I think it's better to have a jacket. I didn't get seasick, possibly because the motion sickness medication worked for me, but I saw several people looking unwell, so I recommend taking the medication.

Unfortunately, I didn't see any whales until the end, but I will try to think of it as having enjoyed the cruising experience. However, it was mentioned that if we didn't see any whales, we would receive a ticket for a future ride, but I didn't receive one. There weren't any other available dates for me, so it's not a big deal if I don't get one, but just for your reference.

Enjoyed our whale Watch. Staff are very knowledgeable! Always enjoy this tour! We take this trip every year we are on Oahu. Saw dolphins and whales! The drinks are reasonably priced and delicious! We love getting out on this boat because it is so peaceful in the water is so beautiful and blue. Every time we have taken this cruise we have seen whales! The check-in process was very easy as they were waiting right outside the boat. Parking was easy and it was $10 for the duration we were parked. We used hawaii activities.com to book this trip. They were very easy to deal with and enjoyable. We have been on the star of Honolulu for several different types of excursions. The boat is very safe and we have always enjoyed our time on them.

We participated as a group of four, with two adults and two children. We opted for the shuttle service.

After boarding, we had a little time and were able to enjoy breakfast with the bread we brought along.

The onboard announcements (in English) inform you about the direction to look for whales, so I don't think you'll miss them.

We were able to see the whales spouting water and their tails multiple times. Unfortunately, we didn't get to witness a whale jumping out of the water. However, it was a fun experience, and we felt the presence of the whales more than we expected.

It can be quite windy, so having a long-sleeved jacket is advisable.

乗船場所のアロハタワー周辺に早めに着いたのですが、特に何もない為あまり早くつかない方がいいかもしれません。
チェックイン時間より船の前でフラダンスのショーを見ることができました。
そのあと乗船となります。コースランクによって船の階数が変わるようです！私達は5コースで4階に移動しました！
船にはエレベーターがあります。
名前を伝えると席に案内されウェルカムドリンクの美味しいシャンパンをサーブしていただけました！
出航したら、キャプテンの乾杯の挨拶、ダンサーによるフラを見ることができます！しばらく食事を楽しんで、本来ならサンセットを外で見ることができたのかもしれませんが、当日は雨の為見ることは出来ませんでした。ただその分ゆっくり食事をして、後半にはジャズを聴きながら楽しむことができました！雨と強風のせいかわかりませんが少し船は揺れてました(･･;)船酔いする方は気をつけた方がいいかもしれません！お手洗いはとても広く綺麗でした！
初めてのディナークルーズ雨でも楽しめました！

I was worried about seasickness, so I chose the largest sightseeing boat on Oahu. The view as we left the harbor and passed through Waikiki towards Diamond Head was simply amazing. As we got closer to Diamond Head, we encountered a family of whales three times. A group of about three, possibly a mother and her calves, surfaced for air, and every time they spouted water, cheers erupted. Onboard, there was a briefing about where to look when whales were spotted, which made the experience enjoyable. It seems this boat is also used for Sunset Dinner Cruises at night, and it had a restaurant onboard. Next time, I definitely want to experience the Sunset Cruise.

I participated in the Sandbar Angel's Sea snorkeling and sea turtle watching cruise. The atmosphere was nice and it was fun, but when I entered the water for snorkeling, the water temperature was low and "it was cold."

Snorkeling was enjoyable, but I recommend preparing for the cold after getting back on the boat. Our family of three participated, and we all changed in the restroom and wrapped ourselves in thick towels we brought from the hotel.

Even though it's a tropical climate, it felt like winter? Since the water temperature is low, I recommend taking precautions. I was glad I had read experiences beforehand.

The weather was nice, so I thought it was still bearable, but I believe cold weather precautions are necessary when it's cloudy, rainy, or windy.

イルカが数匹見れました。
「○oclck」とクジラがでたらアナウンスされると聞いたので、横になっていましたが気づかないうちに現れていたようです。
息子は隣の人が呟いたため気づいて見えた潮吹きと、「3o'clock」と言われてみたので計2回見えたようです。クジラは写真の通り遠巻きで、イルカは割と近くで見えます。

I mentioned that I had requested the pickup from the Lacroix Hotel from the beginning, that I had already paid for the service including the pickup, and that it didn't have to be today, and only then was I finally offered a reschedule. It was very disappointing that they spoke as if it was my mistake from the start without trying to find the cause of the misunderstanding, and their response reflected that. 幼いこどもを連れて時間に遅れないよう時間管理をし、何ヶ月も前からスケジュールを立てて楽しみに旅行に来ているのに、こんな不安な思いや不快な思いをしなければならないのは残念です。
ベルトラさんにもメールでお迎えが来ない旨ご相談したのですが、催行会社との間に入り、迅速に大変親身にご対応いただきました。ベルトラさんからのご連絡で初めて催行会社側のミスで送迎先がシェラトンワイキキになっていたことを知りました。催行会社の方はその旨の説明も謝罪もなく、ベルトラさんと催行会社の間での伝達ミスのような言い方をされました。ミスをするのは人間なのでしょうがないと思います。しかし誠実な説明や謝罪ないのはこちらに対して大変失礼だと思います。
ベルトラさんはおすすめしますが、こちらの催行会社はおすすめしません。
