I heard that seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so I planned to arrive early and wait on the rooftop for a good seat. However, even after the scheduled time, no reception staff or anyone else showed up, and the local contact number was unreachable as the business hours had ended. In the end, I just had to go down to the venue and check in directly after the scheduled time. Unfortunately, I ended up at the back of the line and couldn't get a good seat, which was very disappointing. The luau show itself was good.

It was an exotic experience centered around a luau show and Polynesian cultural experiences.

The show features fire dancing and audience participation, making it enjoyable. The meal is a buffet and the taste is decent. I'm happy there are plenty of vegetables. Water and coffee are free, while alcoholic drinks are charged.

The audience consisted of only one family from Korea, not to mention Japanese or other Asian attendees, which added to the exotic atmosphere.

On July 19th, during our trip to Hawaii, my family and I (a party of 12) attended the Waikiki Luau with All-You-Can-Eat Buffet, Fire Dance & Rock-A-Hula. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing experiences of our trip.

From the start, the event felt more like a tourist trap than a cultural celebration. The performers wore plastic grass skirts and danced on astroturf, which cheapened the experience and made it feel like a stylized imitation rather than a tribute to Hawaiian tradition.

The buffet was just as underwhelming. The meats were dry and chewy, and several of us left our meals half-eaten. We all ended up searching for food elsewhere after the show.

When purchasing tickets, we noted that they included premier seating for the show—something we specifically chose so the younger members of our group could engage and see the performance clearly. However, we were seated near the back with no explanation. The seating appeared entirely random, and there was no effort to honor the premier designation.

The show itself was bizarre. It was supposedly a journey through Hawaiian music and culture, but the execution was confusing. While we expected an Elvis tribute, it felt like a full concert with song after song. Then came a Michael Jackson impersonator performing Thriller and several other full-length songs. We learned during the show that he once performed at Aloha Stadium, but the connection felt forced and irrelevant. A few of us dozed off, while others sat in disbelief trying to make sense of it.

The performance dragged on far too long. With a tighter runtime and focus on authentic Hawaiian culture, it could have been enjoyable. The fire dancer was the highlight, but came too late to redeem the evening.

Overall, this luau was inauthentic, overpriced, and not worth it. We wouldn’t recommend it.

There were various pools, slides, and dynamic attractions, and it was so much fun. The sun was intense, and I got sunburned. My body was covered with a rash guard, but since my face got wet, I think the sunscreen came off. My feet, which were in sandals, also got quite sunburned.

When going to the attractions, I took off my sandals and lined up. Many people left their sandals at the starting point. Once barefoot, the ground was so hot that it felt like I might get burned. But that too is a fun memory.

I didn't use a locker for my belongings. There were many chairs lined up near the wave pool, and I claimed a spot there to leave my things. (I carried my phone and valuables in a waterproof case.)

It was so much fun that I played without even having lunch!

いろんなプールや滑り台，ダイナミックなアトラクションがあって，とっても楽しかったです。
日差しがきつくて，日焼けもしました。体はラッシュガードでおおわれていましたが，顔は濡れてしまうので，日焼け止めもとれてしまうと思います。サンダルを履いていた足もしっかり日焼けしてしまいました。

アトラクションに行くときは，サンダルを脱いで並びます。たくさんの方が出発地点などに，サンダルを置いていきます。裸足になると，地面が熱くて，火傷しそうなくらいでした。でも，それも楽しい思い出の１ページです。

荷物はロッカーには預けませんでした。波のプールの近くにたくさんイスが並べてあり，そこで拠点となる場所取りをして，荷物も置いておきました。（携帯電話や貴重品は防水ケースに入れて持ち歩いていました。）

楽しすぎて，お昼ご飯も食べずに，遊びました！

The tour wasn't bad, but I was disappointed because the sandbar was "not what I expected‼️" I thought we would be able to land on a sandy beach, but there was none at all... We only stood in shallow water. Even though I could have tolerated water up to my ankles, it was actually deep enough to submerge me to my chest, so it felt like I was dropped into the sea 😭 I wanted to walk on the sandy beach, and to be more specific, I wanted to sit on the beach and eat a hamburger 💧 Eating a hamburger on a crowded boat... 💧 I can't even remember if it was delicious because I was so concerned about my surroundings.

The various workshops and experience events, such as lei making, really captured the Polynesian atmosphere and were enjoyable. My child was delighted to take pictures with a parrot.

The show was very authentic, featuring not only female dancers but also male hula dancers, and we enjoyed both traditional dances from various countries (hula kahiko and Tahitian 'ote'a) and contemporary dances (hula 'auana and Tahitian aparima). The dancers were very skilled, and it was not just a show dance but truly impressive. The hosts, singers, and backing musicians were also wonderful, and the food was delicious, making it a very memorable luau experience.

Although the entire presentation was in English and there was no Japanese support, I felt that using a translation app would solve any issues.

I watched from the cheap seats at the back, but I could see everything and the atmosphere was perfect; it was amazing. It felt like watching Olympic gymnastics with perfect technique and an engaging structure, making the hour and a half fly by. On the first day of my trip, I was a bit drowsy before the 5:30 PM start, but once it began, I was wide awake and enjoyed it until the very end. I definitely want to see it again next time.

This is my third cruise after nine years. The food hasn't changed much, but the portions are generous, and it includes two drinks, plus coffee at the end, which is more than enough. The shows were interactive, and everyone got involved, making it a lot of fun.

I had the opportunity to talk with the captain, who is fluent in Japanese and has a great sense of humor, making him very easy to talk to. He also pointed out great photo spots, and my middle school daughters were more excited about talking to the captain than anything else, even more than dinner.

I think it will be a few years before I join again, but I would love to participate again to see the captain. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

食事の内容はあまり変わってはいませんが、ボリュームがありドリンクも２杯ついて最後にコーヒーまで飲めて充分です。ショーが参加型になっていてみんなで盛り上がりですごく楽しめました。
船長さんとお話しする機会があり、日本語も堪能でユーモアもありすごく話しやすい方でした。写真スポットも教えてくれて中学生の娘達はディナーより何より船長さんと話せた事に大興奮していました。

Since I hadn't booked many activities for this trip, I asked a local acquaintance for recommendations, and they mentioned that Cirque du Soleil, which just opened last year, is very popular. I chose the Friday cruise to enjoy the fireworks in Honolulu from the ship. The quality of the food and drinks was surprisingly high for being on a boat, and the hula show on board was incredibly lively. The entire staff made it a fun cruise. We did several activities in Hawaii but if I had to choose one as my favorite, it would be this one. You get to do a little bit of everything, it’s like the whole Hawaii experience. This is great family tour. I loved it so much! Plus the buffet dinner is included which was amazing! The night show for me was the best part. I can’t describe how much I loved it!

I searched online for places in Japan that I could visit with my 4-year-old grandchild and decided that Wet 'n' Wild would be the best choice. I was glad that we were able to sit outside as I had requested the day before. The staff were all very nice, and we had a wonderful time.

Captain Bob’s Sandbar Snorkeling Tour was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Oahu! From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable. The crew was absolutely amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was safe while still having a blast. They brought such a fun and laid-back energy to the whole day.

The sandbar was stunning, with crystal-clear water and plenty of time to explore, relax, and take photos. The snorkeling was also fantastic—we saw colorful fish and even a sea turtle!

And let me tell you about the food! The BBQ lunch was delicious, fresh, and just what we needed after swimming and snorkeling. Everything was well-organized and the atmosphere on the boat was so much fun.

This excursion was absolutely incredible! We got to hang out on the Kaneohe sandbar for a while. Some people played volleyball, some swam and tested out snorkel gear. We go to just relax and enjoy this amazing location. There were sea turtles and rays when we first got there. The crew grilled up some yummy burgers while we played. We then got back on the boat looking for green sea turtles. So many! We snorkeled around a reef and saw so many incredible fish. This was one of my favorite adventures that we did in Oahu and could not have been in a more beautiful location.

We were really lucky with our tour because Kilauea started erupting in the morning of our tour day and we had a helicopter tour at 9:00 AM. We were able to see unbelievable sights from the helicopter as we were flying over the caldera.

The downside of it was that everyone else also knew about the eruption and wanted to get to the volcano park so we were stuck in the traffic for hours with others queuing to get into the park. This affected slightly the schedule of our tour, but we still managed to see the main things, and as I had visited the park before, it didn't matter so much to me. The thing I hoped and expected from the tour most was seeing lava spouting up in the air, and that came true!

Just as a reminder, you don't always get to see lava flowing, but the sights overall are still amazing and definitely worth the trip.

I opted for the lunch package, so it was great to be able to buy lunch without waiting in line during the lunch hour.
The lunch included steak, chicken steak, French fries, salad, fruit, and rice in a buffet style. It was nice that I could have seconds.
