The buffet is different from the quality of hotel buffets, but since it's on a ship, it's sufficient. We participated as a family of five: my husband, our three-year-old son, and our one-year-old twins. The kids can't wait for a course meal, and I thought it would be a hassle if they got noisy, so we chose the buffet. We were able to board with the twins in their stroller. The ship also has an elevator (which can only be used by those with special needs like wheelchairs or strollers), and we were able to move to the top floor using the elevator. We were looking forward to the fireworks on Friday, but they were canceled due to rising water levels; however, the three-hour cruise went ahead as planned. It was a lot of fun to relax and enjoy the scenery, listen to live music, and dance together.

It was a very American tour where the entertainment started already on the bus. The bus guide was amazing! The pre-show entertainment was fun, with a sense of unity amidst the freedom. If you don't miss the signal from the conch shell, you can keep up with the flow. But it's okay if you fall behind! Everyone spends their time as they like, and that sense of freedom is very pleasant.

It's more enjoyable if you can speak English, but if you want to experience American entertainment with your body, you don't need to worry about the language! I recommend this for those who want to have an experience a bit different from a typical Japanese group tour!

The deluxe dinner course is worth the money. The meal is served to you, and you also receive souvenirs and a $24 gift card. We wore yukatas! Since everyone was dressed nicely, there was no need to feel embarrassed. It gets chilly at night, so it's a good idea to bring something to wear over.

I was glad to have such a fun tour. Thank you!

デラックスディナーコースはお金を払う価値アリです。食事も運んでもらえて、お土産や24ドルの金券(カード)ももらえます。
私達は、浴衣を着て行きました！皆さんお洒落しているので、恥ずかしくないですい。夜は冷えるので、羽織る物を持っていくといいです。
こんなに楽しいツアーがあって良かった、と思いました。ありがとうございました。

This was truly a great time. We had the deluxe package so we had special seating and an unobstructed view of the stage and entertainers. The weather was great as well as the food and drinks. They took great care of us and attended our every request. They had lots of activities at the cove. They had spear throwing, rafting, lei making and of course hula lessons. If you go to the island make the time to attend a luau and especially at Paradise Cove. It was simply the best.

I participated on the last night of our honeymoon. Due to my shellfish allergy, I joined the buffet.

The sunset was beautiful (although it was a bit cloudy...), so that was nice, but honestly, the food and the event were just mediocre. I felt that it might have been better if we had chosen a higher-tier tour, like a 3-star or 5-star.

Since we came to Hawaii and we hardly speak any English, it might be our issue, but I couldn't understand anything the MC or the staff were saying, and I was just smiling politely the whole time.

Personally, I wish it were a bit more accommodating for those who don't speak English well.

For the return shuttle, I got off the boat a bit late without any communication, so I was confused about where to get on the vehicle and ended up getting lost. I was disappointed to be seated at a table with Japanese people. If it was going to be shared seating, I would have preferred it to be with non-Japanese guests. The buffet was neither good nor bad.

We boarded as a family. Since we had a small child with us, we were a bit hesitant about participating, but there were many families on board as well. The staff were very kind and made our experience enjoyable. Fortunately, our child fell asleep during the ride, allowing us to relax and enjoy a leisurely time. This was our second time boarding, and if the opportunity arises again, we would love to participate.

All the guests participated in "YMCA," and I had a great time dancing and having fun. I participated in a buffet course where you can enjoy roast beef. Since it was a dinner cruise, I thought I would relax and enjoy the buffet while watching the sunset, but to my surprise, we were welcomed with a hula dance at the boarding point! As soon as we set sail, there was a wonderful singing voice accompanied by a guitar right in front of us, along with dancing and more dancing. The food was delicious, and I ended up chatting with the people at my table, and before I knew it, it was sunset (laughs). It was a very enjoyable cruise. I want to go again!

I participated once five years ago and returned this time for my honeymoon. This year marked the 60th anniversary of the Star of Honolulu, but to be honest, I felt that the quality of service, entertainment, and food had significantly declined. There was none of the lingering afterglow that I experienced before.

Regarding the service, the waitress at our table seemed to be still in training and was working alongside someone who appeared to be more experienced. There are always newcomers in any field, but her service was terrible. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive after ordering, and I had to reorder. When they finally came, they were the wrong items. The way she served the plates was also concerning, as she handed heavy plates over my head. A male floor manager came by several times to check if everything was fine, but it was quite bothersome. If he had time to ask that, I wished he would have taken our drink orders instead. Glasses were almost knocked over, and there were mistakes with the bill; it was just disappointing.

As for the entertainment, I used to enjoy a much more vibrant hula performance, but this time the long, dull opening songs lacked excitement. The food was also disappointing; the lobster had no flavor and was overcooked and tough. The steak had a lingering odor, and the accompanying vegetables were undercooked. I felt that the cost-performance ratio was very poor.

今年はスターオブホノルル60周年ということでしたが、率直に言って、サービス、エンタメ、料理ともにかなりクオリティが落ちたという印象。以前の、終わった後まで残る余韻のようなものがまるで感じられない。
サービスについては、私たちのテーブルを担当したウェイトレスさんが、どうやらまだ研修中だったらしく、先輩と思われる方と二人でサービスを担当。どの世界にも新人はいるものだが、この人のサービスはひどい。ドリンクはオーダー15分しても出て来ず、再度オーダー。やっと来たと思ったら、違うものが来る始末。皿のサーブも、重い皿を私の頭上越しに渡したり、見ていてヒヤヒヤ。フロアマネージャーらしき男性が何度もフォローのためが、everything's fine??などと聞きに来るが、かなりうるさい。そんな声がけの暇があるなら、ドリンクのオーダーを取りに来てほしい。グラスは倒しかけられる、会計は間違えると、とにかく残念。

エンタメも、以前はもっと熱気溢れるフラを観賞できたが、今回はつまらない前座の歌が長く、盛り上がりに欠けた。
料理も、ロブスターはまるで味がしないうえに、茹で過ぎてゴリゴリ。ステーキには臭みが残っていて、付け合せの野菜も半煮え。コスパが非常に悪いと感じた。

It takes about 15 minutes by taxi from the center of Honolulu. There are about two places to drink at the cruise ship terminal, but there’s nothing else around. It feels like there used to be a shopping center here, but now it’s in ruins.

The staff on the cruise ship were very good. We got to see singing and dancing. However, I think it’s only enjoyable for people aged 50 to 60 and above. The songs they chose are old. The older guests were dancing, but most people were just sitting and relaxing on the deck. Don’t expect too much from the food, but the crab is reliably delicious. It’s a hassle to peel it yourself, but it’s all-you-can-eat.

There were a few people who were feeling seasick. If you’re prone to motion sickness, it’s better to skip this.

I recommend it for those over 60 who don’t get seasick.

On the last night of my stay in Honolulu on April 19th, I participated in an event. I thought it would be the off-season before Golden Week, but it was packed. I was concerned that the service might not be good, but the food was great, and the additional lobster came out quickly, which made me satisfied. Especially, the music performance, singing, and dancing allowed participants to join in and have a great time, which I believe was due to the staff's smiles and their desire to entertain the guests. In particular, the humor and excellent musical performance of the man who served as both the MC and main vocalist from start to finish were outstanding.

料理は食べきれない量を持ってきてくれます。

ショーはフラダンス以外に客参加型のタイプが数回ありました。
記念日と思われる方がステージにあがったり、結婚のフラダンスの時は結婚記念日で来られている方もダンスを踊ったりと、ほほえましい外国的な雰囲気を楽しめれました。
５０周年のご夫婦がいらっしゃいました！

ファイヤーショーの時には園内が真っ暗になるのですが、上を見ると満天の星空が見れてとてもキレかったです。

ワイキキからは距離があるのですっごくお勧めとは言わないですが、コオリナ周辺に宿泊ならぜひ行ってみてください。

My daughter said she wanted to ride a horse, so I did some research and found good reviews about this place, so I made a reservation. On the day of our visit, we arrived in about an hour by rental car. Our family of four started on time. We rode along the coast and into the woods. There were moments when the horses stopped to eat grass, but generally, they followed the horse in front of them. We returned to the coast, where we took many photos. We rode for just over an hour. All the staff were cool women. Our guide was Jessie. As soon as we finished, she took two horses to practice polo. Tips were separate, so I had prepared some, but she left quickly, and when I asked another staff member to give it to her, they called her back. It’s a bit challenging to get there without a car, but it’s a wonderful place! I definitely want to go again and ride a horse! On the way back, we even saw a beautiful rainbow, making it an unforgettable day! 😊

1時間強は乗っていました。スタッフは皆格好いい女性です。私たちの担当はジェシーさん。私たちが終わるとすぐに、2頭の馬を連れ、ポロの練習に行かれました。チップは別途となっていたので、用意していたのですが、すぐに行かれてしまい、他のスタッフに「渡して下さい」と言うと、呼び戻してくれました。
車がないと行かれないので、ちょっと大変ですが、素晴らしいところです‼是非また行って、馬に乗りたいです❗
帰りはきれいな虹も出て、忘れられない１日になりました～☺

My wife, daughter, grandson, and I participated. We were blessed with good weather on the day, and we were able to see the sunset in Hawaii and the fireworks in Waikiki, which are held every Friday, from the boat. I went with my wife and daughter. The one and a half hours felt quite long, but being guided by a beautiful instructor through the magnificent highlands made me feel great. The scenery was also incredibly wonderful, and it was a lot of fun. The horses were all very gentle, and even my 9-year-old daughter enjoyed riding. It's a bit far from Waikiki, but I think it's not a problem at all if you have a rental car.
