My family really enjoyed this activity. We sat right beside the stage and it was wonderful. The bus ride was my sons favorite part. He did not want to go and I had to make him. Now ,if you ask him what his favorite thing he did while in Hawaii he will tell you the Luau at Paradise Cove. My family enjoyed the authintic dancing and singing. I printed our coupon/voucher off line and it all worked out great.

I would recommend that anyone at any age range see a luau while visiting Hawaii. Paradise Cove was awesome. The entertainment was magnificant, the staff was very nice, my waiter was shy and asked for his picture not to be posted on the internet :) They feed you a lot of food. VIP is the way to gp because you stay seated, your food is served to you and for a hot afternoon you are under a cover with fans. You have a wonderful sunset view. Just GOOD LUCK if it rains!!

First of all, I highly recommend the v.i.p box. I was kind of expecting an individual booth, but it’s actually an area under a shed seating about 30-40 people (8 people a table). Even though you’re sitting with other people, v.i.p beats getting up to stand in line for food. There would be a staff member serving you, also most important is the weather. A staff member I talked to mentioned that if it happens to rain, the only people that would be covered are people in v.i.p. If it does rain, there would be security guards blocking the v.i.p booth, if anyone with a standard seat tries to enter.
The activities are delightful, the gift shops are great, and I must have spent about 100-130 dollars just on souvenirs. The picture taken of us is beautiful. Going as a couple, 6 drink coupons each were plenty. When you enter you will receive a complimentary drink, so we actually had extra coupons by the end of the. The staffs are nice, helpful, and funny. It was a great luau………..

I participated in the advanced course at Gunstock Ranch with my sister. If you're coming from Waikiki, I think it's easy to aim for the Polynesian Cultural Center as a landmark.
We were asked how much experience we had riding horses, and after doing some trotting in the circle, we set off. After walking along the mountain path, we suddenly broke into a canter through the woods. When the lead horse, Sara, started running, my horse quickly followed suit, and my sister's horse behind me joined in as well.
We ran quite a bit. It was my first time cantering in Western style, and I was a bit worried, but it turned out to be quite easy even with the long stirrups. It felt really good.
While observing the condition of the trail, we then trotted up and down the hills. At the top, Sara picked some guava fruit for us and took some pictures. The descent offered beautiful scenery, so we leisurely walked.
The weather was great, and it was a very fulfilling hour. If I have the chance, I would love to visit Gunstock Ranch again.

The Paradise Cove Luau was a very fun experience and it is great for families since they have activities you can participate in. The food was very delicious, I however would not recommend paying the extra for the Deluxe package with table service and 6 standard drink coupons. Table service was very slow, people who did the buffett had food way before we did AND there were other things on the buffett that table service guests did not receive.

Two things were very prominent on this excursion.
1) It seemed very focussed on couples. Lots of references for people celebrating engagements, weddings & anniversaries. There was also a special song played so couples could dance together.
2) There were too many add-ons where it seemed really obvious they were trying to get more money out of you ($15 to have your picture taken with some tropical birds for example and also the bar staff trying to talk you into getting the drinks that your free coupon doesn't quite cover). Some of the extra activites were pretty lame and the staff didn't really seemed interested in even pretending to be enthused about being there.
The actual show was pretty good, although it didn't really go on that long. I was at a VIP table and the waiter hovered around and couldn't take your plate so as to start the next course quick enough. No offer of if you would like some more or not despite the fact it was "all you can eat".

This was the second luau that I've attended...it was very good and comparable to the first...the events going on in addition to the luau were an added bonus. Highly recommend upgrading it as we did, we were served our food instead of standing in line, we received a photo that they took at the beginning and the drinks were top of the line. We had front row seating! Made it SO much better for taking photos and viewing the performers! SO glad we upgraded it...worth the extra money :)

Several years ago, I went to a Hawaiian Luau...we ate dinner and watched a show...it was alright. PARADISE COVE LUAU was so much more! I loved it! Before dinner, there were several activities we could enjoy, as we drank our "welcome drink" or used our coupons to have some additional pre-dinner drinks. Activities included: canoe rides, spear-throwing, tatooing, flowered headband/bracelet making, poi practice, and dance lessons. The beach and sunset was beautiful. Negatives: Dinner was okay...my boyfriend liked it, but I'm a little more picky... Some (most) of the drinks required more than just a drink coupon (ie. "one coupon plus $3)...kind of misleading.
Overall, I totally recommend this Luau experience!

There were plenty of activities to do prior to the show. The show was great with the fire show being the best. The meal was ok not great. Overall we had a great time and would go back.

I took my girlfriend to this dinner cruise cuz I heard great things about it. It def. met my expectation, but I wish I had more money to do 5star. We did three star, and it was still good, but if you are really into that person you are with, you should do 5 star (no offense to my gf... next time...) i had a chance to peek the top floor, and it looked really nice inside. Neverthless, we enjoyed ourselves very much. Thanks!

At 4:00 PM, a bus will pick us up at the hotel. Once we get on... it's all Westerners. Everything is in English. The guide is desperately trying to lift the mood with jokes and gestures, making an effort to help everyone get to know each other. Since travel time is limited, and no one wants to waste it, I’ll be clear: if you don’t understand English, the jokes and conversations with your neighbors on the bus might feel dull, and you could feel uncomfortable until the end. Once we arrive, we’ll be ushered inside, where various events await. You don’t need to understand English to participate in those.
For meals, you’ll be sharing a table with people you don’t know, so English conversation will be necessary. Most attendees are from the mainland, so I think English is essential. This experience is suited for those who see chatting with neighbors as part of the fun. The dance and performances are wonderful, and if you’re brave enough, you can even go up on stage. There’s also a couple's dance time. If you’re someone who wants to enjoy without hesitation, you can have fun even if you don’t understand the language. On the return bus, the guide shares entertaining stories, so you won’t be able to sleep. (laughs) Casual attire is fine. I participated with my family, and we were the only Japanese among about 500 people, and since I was the only one who understood English, I translated everything for my family. They said they had a great time because I interpreted for them. Personally, I found this tour to be extremely enjoyable; this is true entertainment.

We were well entertained, and i could not have asked for more! I wouldn't bother to upgrade unless you do the top level ( much better seating)
