Enjoyed the evening with our family of 3 teenagers. We played the games and felt encouraged by the staff, did the hula, watched most of the shows. However, we missed the main ceremony because we were doing something else at the time. They had the conch shell sound for each event but did not verbally announce it therefore we missed it which was disappointing. The food and dinner show were wonderful. We drove ourselves and the place was easy to find.

The reviews were very good, so I might have had too high expectations, but it was just okay. The bus guide's stories were certainly interesting, but they weren't "hilarious" or anything, just average. However, the attention to participants was wonderful; they celebrated birthdays and anniversaries, and even during free time, they kept track of everyone's activities and mentioned them later. I was also surprised by how smoothly the staff worked together. I didn't think the food was delicious, but since I didn't have high expectations, it was within an acceptable range. I was hoping for something a bit more spiritual from the show, but it felt more commercial. This is just my personal opinion.
We lived in the United States until the year before last and have participated in many such shows and dinners, so I might have been a bit harsh in my evaluation compared to others... I apologize.
However, I think for first-timers or those who don't often have the opportunity to experience different cultures, it would be a fresh and enjoyable event.

Let me just say, I took a chance. I heard it was expensive, cheesy, and basically over-rated. BUT, I also heard if you do decide to do a luau, do Paradise Cove, and go all out with the Deluxe package... They were right!! (lol, PC should pay me for this review...)
As a young couple in our 20's.... WE HAD A BLAST. They do a great job making you feel special with the deluxe package: shorter lines, extra drink tickets, souvenir gifts, and we had the VERY FRONT seats (regular tickets put you WAY in the back)!!! Totally worth the extra money to be right in front and have table service (no waiting in long lines for the buffet)... The food was better than expected, drinks were...pretty. The dancing/show was what was expected-
but what we both agreed on what made PC special was the cove!!!! It was stunning, and the view is everything i imagined Oahu to be. We went on our 2nd night, and it was very romantic!!! When we went on the little canoe ride they offer, WE SAW A GREEN SEA TURTLE!!!

We had never been to a luau so we had nothing to compare this to. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
The entertainment and activities before and after the meal were great, fun and appropriate for all age groups.
The taste and quality of food was good. The amount was plentiful. The alcoholic beverages that came with the VIP ticket was plentiful, although not very strong.
We bought the VIP package so that we wouldn't have to stand in line for the buffet. We went at a slow time in February (about 350 people) so it wasn't bad, but I would definitely recommend the VIP package in the peak season.
The lei and photos were very nice.
The fun didn't stop when we left the luau. The Paradise Cove tour guide sent to pick us up was fantastic. In the way to the luau we got to know the other people on our bus. We became a family of "cousins." On the way back we had music and humor based on our shared experiences. Our tour guide even played his ukulele and serenaded us. I didn't want to get off

I think it's a must for those who can speak English, want to speak, are practicing, or want to immerse themselves in the feeling of being abroad!! The food was delicious, and as everyone has mentioned, the content was very fulfilling, but what I found particularly interesting was the bus guide's stories during the bus rides☆ Please join and experience it for yourself!

On October 11th, two women in their 50s who couldn't speak English participated. Most of the participants were American, and there were only eight Japanese people, including us. The male guide kept the atmosphere lively on the bus (all in English). I didn't understand everything, but it was bright and fun. When we arrived at the location, we received a mai tai and a shell lei, and we took some great commemorative photos. They were selling them for $15 on the way back. Before the show started, we experienced activities like spear throwing, a bowling-like game with stones and wood, and canoeing. Everything was free. There were also people making leis. The sunset was magnificent, and while I was taking photos, the show began with the sound of a conch shell. The show started on the beach and then moved to a circular stage. This show is so wonderful that you shouldn't miss it... We moved to the table for the final meal and watched the show while enjoying a buffet. It was truly amazing and very satisfying. The return bus ride was also fun, making us feel like we were in America. Both of us were still thrilled even after we got back to the hotel.

The stage is still pretty close from the box and it is raised up at the same level as the VIP box so you see over top of everyone else who is in the general seating area. The VIP treatment really makes the whole experience so much better you get 2 pictures taken and don't have to wait in line ups. I couldn't imagine waiting in the long line that formed for the buffet!! There were lots of booths and activities before the dinner and show started we wandered around and watched some of the acts and tried the games they had set up, We walked out to the beach and the rocks which had an amazing view. It was just such a good time, perfect for the first night or two in Hawaii to get you in the "Hawaiian" mood!!! On September 1st, I participated in the Standard plan.
As others have shared in their experiences, stepping onto the large welcoming bus felt like entering another world! We were the only Japanese people, with most of the group coming from the mainland United States, along with some guests from Australia and Russia. The guide understood a bit of Japanese, but since all the talks during the ride, including tour notes, were in English, it might not be suitable for those who don't understand English at all.
Paradise Cove is located to the west of Waikiki, beyond the airport and Pearl Harbor, and since the bus ride is long, I recommend bringing a light jacket if you're sensitive to the air conditioning.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a welcome drink (ID is required for alcohol) and received shell leis for a commemorative photo. If you like the photo, you can purchase it on the way back. I think it was around $15.
We were guided to our dining seats, and after writing our names on the sticker on the table to secure our spots, we had free time. The park offered various activities and crafts, so we spent our time freely playing a game similar to javelin called Ooihe and getting Polynesian art tattoos (which wash off) until it was time for dinner.
The meal was a Hawaiian luau buffet, and the lomi lomi salmon and kalua pig were especially delicious. The plan included two drink tickets, which allowed us to exchange them for cocktails from a designated menu.
A point to note is to confirm your bus number and return time carefully, and as mentioned in the notes, a separate tip payment is required. This is a custom that may not be familiar in Japan, so it's easy to forget, but even though the tour fee has been paid, a small tip is appreciated when receiving crafts or drinks.
The show performed on the outdoor stage was spectacular! Along with hula and live music, the fire performance after a 15-minute break was definitely worth seeing. The beautiful sunset we unexpectedly witnessed added to the experience, making it a wonderful memory.

What really impressed me was the fact that we got caught up watching the view from the outside deck dinner was already served and almost all the guest had finished their meal. Our server Clifford was nice enough to keep our meal in the kitchen and brought it to our table when we sat. The show was great and the audience particpation at the end was fun. They also had a 2 man band playing local island music as we enjoyed our dinner. My wife and I agreed that the next trip(whch we are already planning) will include this cruise again. The luau at Paradise Cove is amazing, which is surprising considering how little it is advertised in tourist information in Japan! It's a fantastic tour that can't be summed up in just one word. An American from the mainland boasted, "You have to see this when you come to Hawaii. It's absolutely unmissable!" It seems to be quite famous in the U.S., and there were people who took vacations just to experience it.
Once you get on the bus, the guide is full of energy, and the tour begins in an exciting atmosphere.
First of all, the location is fundamentally different from the mock luaus held around hotels. The venue is set in a resort area, making it feel like a genuine festival (luau). Participating in various events while watching the sunset over the ocean is a delightful part of the luau experience.
However, if I had to point out one downside from a Japanese perspective, it might be the question of whether the food is suitable for a dinner show. Well, the buffet-style Hawaiian cuisine... might be a bit too bland. Aside from top-tier hotel buffets, this is probably the norm.
But once the lights go down and darkness falls, it becomes truly spectacular! As the spotlight shines and the intense flames dance, the show begins with a mix of enchanting hula performances that drive toward the climax. The excitement and emotion are so overwhelming that the taste of the food fades away.
I was impressed by the service, such as when a shy girl got the chance to go on stage... Truly, this is Hawaii's No. 1 luau! What I think about now that I'm in Hawaii is, "This is something you absolutely can't miss!"
